Phone automatically triggers Navi-Panel. - HD2 General

Firstly,i would like to apologise for making another thread with the same topic if there's any.I've searched the forums and most of the threads seem to be 'Dead'.
Last week,my phone had something strange going on.When it's at sleep mode,it automatically lights up.I picked it up and i see this thing called the 'Navi-Panel'.The screen was in landscape mode. The only thing that i can access was the phone.I managed to exit the Navi-Panel through the task manager but the problem's still there,my phone and my SMS are in landscape. Also, the phone calls that i make and received are always on loudspeaker mode.I also cannot connect the phone to the computer via the USB. I've tried various ways to fix the phone such as hard reset and rom flashing but it's still the same.I'm currently on the Stock rom version 1.66.707.1(76641) WWE. Can someone post a solution for my problems?

It happened to me twice when a tiny drop of water dropped on the micro usb slot, creating a temporary short circuit.
Make sure the slot is clean, (no conductor material inside).
It may be a small chance, but it is still a chance...

I have the same problem
My phone got wet last night due to rain. And the Navi panel kept coming up. So I set the option for Navi panel not to have an automatic launch. Thats fine now, but I got another problem to sort through. When ever I pick up a call the speaker is automatically turned ON. Its embarrassing now. I am just hoping its temporary..
If anyone has an idea on how to turn off the automatic speaker on call pick up, pls let me know.. Thanks in advance.

Whats more is: I cant connect to the Activesync now. The phone is charging well though.
I can probably live with that since I can connect through Blue Tooth. Hoever, if someone has any idea on how to turn off the "Auto external Speaker mode", pls let me know .. any registry key ... or any other means.
Thanks in advance.

This happened to me a few months back now on a wet evening, assuming the phone must have got wet through my pocket. Tried everything to fix it, left it to dry out for 24 hours near radiator with the battery out to no avail. But then flashed a new ROM and it started working. (Had to flash the same ROM three times till it started working. Every ROM since has been fine)
Hope this helps.

Thanks .. That gives me a hope. Could you pls tell me what ROM you flashed.. may be its something to do with that specific ROM..

Activesync died...
Thanks all of you who contributed to the forum. My HD2's activesync stopped working yesterday... and main challenge was to put shipped ROM and send it to the repair...
There is only one thing that I could not explain... When OS is up and running (regardless whether it is cooked or shipped) there is no active sync can be established (only charge function is working). However, when phone is in boot loader (RGB screen) I could connect it thru USB and install ROM from computer...

Thanks for trying to help XAH, but this was the first thing in my troubleshooting process. Usually it helps when you plug in the phone, computer acknowledges it, but pop in warning sign that USB device is not recognized. In my case there was no reaction (on multiple computers) - like nothing is plugged in... Will see what repairer says... I'll post an update as soon as I'll hear from them.

got my HD2 from repair centre
I've got my HD2 back from repair centre... and it works fine... most bizzar part is paper say that nothing was done...

a friend of me hat this problem some time ago. it disappeared after about 1 or 2 weeks iirc.

Same problem for me, but i've changed 5 diferent rom's and nothing...i will try the airdryer now

XDA II Coma like state

Right guys and girls, this "coma" stuff is driving me MAD!!!!!!!!!
okie the latest example is last night i put the XDA on charge not in the cradle as usual as i was not at home, but that seems to make no difference, anyhow i turn the screen off by pushing the power button (top left) yellow light turns on and begins to charge, next morning i pick up the device to use it and nothing.....not a sausage, dead as a doe-doe.
Im not able to power it on, im not able to "wake it up" with a call to it, buttons do not work at all, screen is dead, the yellow light stays on even when charger not connected, however it turns of several hours later.
Ok at this point in the past the only way to fix this was to hard-reset it, which is a royal pain in the arse as you all know, and lost all my info i worked on, on that last trip.
Except this time, it really is dead, Hard-reset dont work, removing the main battery and letter the internal one take the hit dont work, verious combos of reset, hard-reset, with and without battery. nothing
nope, this time it seems totally screwed, anyone have any ideas
O2 is going to get an angery phone call, as soon as there tech support peeps goes back to work after the weekend, they said originally it was just a glitch and i was to update my software (rom). Some damn glitch!
Anyhow in a bid to remain slightly more sain than i will be i was hoping that some of you guys have had a problem like this or even better know how to fix it
How you can help
Regards
Darren

well maybe your phone is just broken
being angry at o2 will not help anything they dont make the hardware they dont make the software they just sell the device
Hum, intresting, before i start, O2 is to blame, in the world of retail and more importantly sales contracts, they are my first and direct point of call, in law, when i give them cash and they except it, they are entering in a contract which sticks them in the position to be blamed, however it is not about blame, its about getting somthing done about it, and they are the people who pull the stings, i do understand that they do not make these devices but thats not the point.
16 year old kids may be a bit put out when there phone stops working, however those who need there phone / PDA to work have more issues when things go wrong.
Whats more intresting is that 1 hour ago, the phone unexpectedly turned on by its self, although not surprisingly, all the data was lost. It seems to of woke its self up when the last remaints of power in the internal battery was about to die, to tell me this information.
Whilest i cant conferm this, if the others who have had this problem before
were to leave the phone off the charger for the battery to die, without trying the usual hard reset, i would expect it to wake up to tell you its about to die and then at this point plug the charger back in and hay presto!
well i'm not saying that you cant sue or demand your money back or place the blame on o2 i'm just saying that you cant expect then to solve your problem apart from reporting the issue to thc who again can blame it on microsoft
dazza8082,
What ROM version do you have on your machine?
I had the same problem with my MDA2 which came with ROM version 1.60 or something like that, but I managed to upgrade my MDA2 to 1.72WWE that I found somewhere in this forums and the problem was solved ever since. I even had lots of sudden SD memory wipes, so far so good... It's been like 4 or 5 months since the upgrade and counting...
The upgrade procedure was performed via the cradle and not via the SD card. But if for some reason you can't manage to boot your device you can always try the SD upgrade method.
I really don't remember the procedure but you can find lots of information somewhere in this forums.
Have you tried to get into Boot mode and then reset the device just to see what happens?
Press the Power button, the reset button and the joypad down at the same time and you should see a DOS-like screen indicating you are in boot mode, from there just press the reset button by itself and see if that helps. You will loose all your data with this procedure, but at this point chances are that you already lost everything in the device anyways.
Best of luck!

HTC P3300 ARTE100 hangs up

Hello, sorry for my english, is not the best.
I've BIG problem with my P3300. originally it came with WM5, after some time I got update from official site for WM6. Had WM6 maybe for 4 months, everything was just perfect while one day my HTC started do funny things like go off it self (white screen when using navigation). It was a once in a week. After some time it started to be like this few times in a day. I thought what I need to do hard reset. Did. Didn't helped. Than I tried to flash my phone to WM6.1. Phone went mad, was constantly switching off it self, screen just freezes and after that you even can't start the phone around 5-10 min. it just want do anything, even if you plug in the charger, indicating orange light want come up. Than I tried to flash with original WM5. Did that, everything was fine for a day, but after the day it went off, i restarted, and than gone wireless and screen started move to the left and to the right aprox 2 mm. When is connected to computer it want connect to ActivSync, it's coming up message: Can't find IP address, try to disconnect phone and connect again... I did manual configurations in network cards and computer, so when you're looking in network connections looks everything fine, but it's still not recognized by ActiveSync :/ Than i send the phone to recovery mode, connected to the computer and updated to WM6. Same thing, screen shaking, wireless not working, goes off. Is strange thing too, in aprox 24 hr memory is filled up to maximum - than is coming up the message: Storage is full, please delete some programs. :/ Hard Reset have to do every single day... Any idea what's can be wrong with my phone? Tried already a lot of things, no more ideas. I think it's software problem... :/
If anyone have any ideas please share with me... Thanks for everyone.
Anyone any ideas? Please, someone... i don't really wanna put phone in to the bin...
Its a hardware isue
Sorry, I have same problems and try same thinks, finaly I send to service and they say its a commone hardware error on electrical micro connections inside cosed by droping the phone down. Before I send it hangs up 2-3 time at day, now its hapen 1 in 10 day if I accedentaly drop the phone
Hardware issue
I think this is hardware problem..., I have some experience with repair HTC smartphones. Freezing, restarting, problem with screen..., GSM etc,,..
In all cases helps Hot air soldering station, find right chip or module (gsm , proc..) and reheating this.. A frequent problem is BROKEN tin joints BGA chips , after impact of equipment. .. sorry for english...
I'm facing the same problem with my old Artemis.
Since I upgrades, I gave it to a friend. It was working perfectly fine months now, until last week.
The phone keeps freezing, doesn't always boot, many times won't even respond to charger pluged in.
Randomly resoldering the board's chips, sound like a long & hard solution :/

Speakerphone + sync problems (i have been searching!)

Hi Guys,
I've searched through the forums, and did not find any post relating to the problems that i am having on my HD2 for about 2 weeks now.
Problem number 1:
When im trying to make a phone call, it immediately switches to speaker phone. This is also occuring when im receiving one. I pick up and almost turn deaf from the person greeting me.
What i've tried:
- Flashing a new rom
- Flashing a new radio
- Flashing a new HSPL(might aswell try that one while im at it right?)
- Tried looking into the phone setting with no success
- Smashing it on my desk being very frustrated
Problem numer 2:
After flashing one of NRGZ wonderfull roms, with maxsense, my phone stopped syncing with my pc. The icon on the taskbar only shows it is being charged.
What i've tried:
- Turning on the "enable faster data synchronization"
- Tried putting the pc to usb connection on hard drive or modem as default
- Flashing a new rom & radio
- Putting the cable in all of my USB ports on the hope it might start working if i do this whilst looking angry at my HD2.
- Shaking my fist at it in anger
This problem also occurred on my Linux install which would normally recognize my HD2 when it is in HDD mode, and i would like to hear some suggestion on how to possibly fix this!
so i guess my phone is f0rked?
i can always get a desire or droid incredible :/
shameless bump, im really about to destroy my HTC and buy me a Desire or droid incredible

1- Try to disable your antivirus and firewall software.
2- Else: Turn off the "enable faster data synchronization".
Cheers!
thanks for the tips, but i have an independent machine that acts as an antivirus for all my machines, and same goes for my firewall.
I also tried turning off the faster data sync but its still not seeing my pc's /laptops as machines. the phone reacts like i plug it in the contact, and not a pc :/
tried this on linux and windows
It sounds as though some settings are lingering through the ROM flashing. Maybe you should check out Task 29 in the Rom section to completely clear your system before a ROM flash.
same problem
hi..
i have the same problem..
the positive side is that i decrease my phonebill... i have no motivation to call someone.. its soooo frustrating... since november i have this phone... and since 2 month this problem makes me going crazy...
what could it be!?? is this a hardware defect?? or what...
i searched a few forums... nothing really helps...
there was a bugfix for the changing horizontal mode... hmm.. ok... thats great... but it does not fix the main problem...
1. The phone speakers...
2. usb connection...
today my hd2 turned himself on in my pocket... and shoot a photo... of course completely black... and published it on facebook... ...
later i saw it on facebook.. and there where comments:
what is that, why are you uploading this... etc.. -.-"
i really like to make a rom update.. but it wont work... this is driving me crazy... how could this be that htc has no solution for this ULTRA BUG????
since touch hd ... i started to like htc.. but now.. i dont know...
do anybody have a solution here in this forum for this problems ??
greetings for all of you...
Hi, it looks like I'm not alone then! My HD2 is from the first batch (November 2009).
I have the same issue with speaker on when calling (since a few days)... Also the screen automatically turns on in my pocket and so I've for example twitted "hjkhlhf" to the whole world...
So, what I have done!
1) execute task 29
2) go back to original SPL 1.42.000 (the one originally on my phone) with the HSPL2 tool on this forum
3) flash the latest official ROM from HTC website: WWE 1.66.405.2
Result: after a hard-reset, without installing ANYTHING!
1) Navipanel starts itself because he thinks I'm in car kit mode (but why?), even though the phone is not connected to anything (no usb cable, no bluetooth activated, heck even no wifi or data connection!)
2) after disabling Navipanel via the options of Navipanel, I can finally use my phone... well sort of: everytime I get out of Sense UI (making a call, reading an e-mail, etc.) the screen automatically switches to landscape mode!
3) more frustating, the speaker still switches on when making a call... So now when I make a call it's in landscape mode (even when the phone is vertical) and the speaker goes on...
4) usb does not connect anymore in Windows. It's still recognized when in bootloader mode though, so it's still possible to flash something else...
=> hard-resetting again and again leads to the same result...
What I've done? I've called HTC, they will pick-up my phone on Monday morning for repair... I will keep you updated!
Well you will never believe this: as soon as I have finished typing this message, I have made a phone call for my work. And guess what? The problem that has been bothering me day and night for a week is all of a sudden GONE!!!
I guess I'll cancel my repair pick-up then... But on the other hand it must have been some hardware malfunction, and who knows if it will not appear again?
puh...
there is a bugfix on htc... for the landscape problem... but this hole problem appears on my phone the 3. time.. so don t think this was the last time...
my hd2 was also from the first batch nov 2009.. may be this is it...
the first wave of hd2 have a malfunktion...
nice...

PC Connection doesn't work! please read on, i'm not a noob!

Hi guys i have really bad problem there is NO WAY to connect my HD2 to PC in windows mobile. I have 5 years experience in WM and have been using my phones to sync until NOW-it simply wont work anymore.
I tried switching computers, always shows just charge, not Mass Storage or ActiveStink, the pop-up doesn't show, only charger is showed in taskbar.
I tried flashing stock ROM&radio (1.66), switching extra 2 computers and all ports on theirs an mine,
I tried going to Android and start pc connection and it WORKED, flashing (obviously) also works. only in (any) wm rom apparently doesnt. what the hell?!?
Soo, has anyone else seen this? please help i cannot even get complete schedule for next week to sync on my phone and i need it..
please, any help really appreciated!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801018
you don't seem to get my point i have w7 and device cente and sync WORKED all the time. also USB works on android! and i can flash!
today it stopped working inside WM so i tried 4 different computers and stock rom and all their ports but phone still registers PC as charger an i don't see a popupp to select connection, it only charges. checked everything 1000 times and flash wipes everything off the phone so it should work fresh but it doesn't....
i'm guessing some kind of HW problem, but how can connection be sucsessful in android if that+s the case?!?!
i need some real help here...
okay i self bump myself as noone seems to take me seriously...
Today afrer recieving a call it put me on speaker right after the call started without even touching the screen! I also noticed that Navipanel opens itself randomly! that got me thinking....
...could it be that HD2 is recgnizing that it's being on Dock without being in? How's that done(hw switch or only software)? Is there a solution for that?
please guys.... and thanks bigtime for any additional info
dirty / faulty usb socket. give it a scrub with a dry toothbrush. read the threads "stuck in car kit mode".
not sure why it should work in android, but your symptoms (charge only, and calls go straight to speaker) are both seen by everyone with this problem.

thank you will do that!
i thought that android isn't coded to support car kit so it can bypass the "flaw" if it doesn't know what's the signal for
thx a bunch!
UPDATE:
Solved problem with scrubing on usb port with toothbrush to clean the dust away, but it still didn't work right away so i had to MOVE CONNECTED usb cable to all directions pretty hard. it started working while pushing on RIGHT. thanks to samsamuel!

[HELP] my Omnia7 will not stay in standby! it switchs on alone

Hello guys,
I have a very strange but really bad problem: my omnia7 can't stay in standby.
When I press the power button, to turn off the screen and go in standby (so not the full turn off), my Omni7 wakes up alone, going on the unlock screen. In the same time, the phone rings with the ring that is played when you connect the phone for charging.
I've tried reboot, reset, hardreset, removing the sim-card, turning on/off "battery saver options" ... still that issue :crying:
Anyone has an idea?
I've flashed with a cooked rom (xda-devs Omnia7 Tango V4.0)
my current config :
OS version : 7.10.8779.8
hard version : 3.1.0.4
soft radio version : 2424.11.7.2
hard radio version : 0.0.0.800
loader version : 4.10.1.9
SOC version : 0.36.2.0
Thanks to any ideas, because that problem is killing me
my phone started doing this late last night too! i thorght it was because rain had gone into the power socket but if others are having same problem at the same time maybe not?
has your phone been exposed to water at all recently? is your phone jailbroken? cant realy think of other reasons
the problem stops when the phone is plugged in. is there anything that can trick the phone to thinking it is on charge? I have wphtweaks installed but the options there are not able to stop it
Hi,
I can't remember if my phone has been wet :/ I take care, so my phone never received water. But when I'm outside, under the rain, it's possible.
Today it was better, just a few times my phone wakes up alone.
I'll give you feedback in the next days. Let me know about yours
I managed to trick my phone into silence a few times earlier but it was difficult and then only lasted 5-10 minutes.
if yours didnt get wet it seems unlikely to do with water but I left mine ontop of the aga after removing the battery and over a relativly cool part. A few hours later and it seems to be working fine now.
I will report back if the issue arises again.
EDIT: Ahhhh!! STOP THE RINGING!!! started again this morning
Mine too !
This morning ... the ringing awakening problem !!!!!
But it was better this afternoon.
Really I don't know what happens.
Are we only two persons in the xda world with this problem????
this is realy weird now! mine was doing it in the morning but since about 12pm - 1pm it has been fine! I feel like its something to do with an installed homebrew app maybe.
I also have a custom rom but mine was flashed a long time ago and much older than yours. not sure which version
EDIT (1:10pm GMT): no problems since yesterday
EDIT2 (1:30pm GMT): again i spoke too soon!
Did you guys get this problem sorted out? Had the same problem recently and tried all the suggestions in other threads (bend USB pin, Reset/Restore Device etc) but nothing fixed it, so after being woken at 3am by constant charging tone, took to T-Mobile shop. They said it was a software problem. I said I'd tried all that and the most likely cause I'd seen on the internet was a duff USB port.
Anyway, T-Mobile sent it off for repair and 7 days later - returned and fixed. The repair sheet said software upgrade, but the phone had been reset to bog standard Phone 7, so unlikely. The T-Mobile repair tracking site (excellent) which shows blow-by-blow trace of what and where, showed initial software upgrade/no fix but I used their "contact us" facility to suggest a USB problem and by magic the repair tracking log showed a replacement USB port.
BTW - had to resort to an iphone and HTC android while Omnia was off for repair. Now I know why I like Phone 7 and can't wait for 8. The iphone GUI is so last decade and Android GUI is really just a copy of Windows 6.5 with XDA developers' tweaks isn't it.
Hi Wuzzok,
what do you mean by "bend USB pin" ?
Anyway, it seems like it's finished for me. I didn't get tht strange bug (soft/hard bug???) for a very long time. I just hope it's really over !
Same problem
Hi Folks,
I have the same problem, too. Yesterday afternoon on my way home the phone started ringing with the USB plug sound and always started up itself from standby mode.
As I have a custom ROM (mi7ROM) I first thought it could be a problem with the ROM - although I could not really believe it since it was running stable for months now. I flashed it again and nothing changed - still ringing and starting up itself
I managed to get rid of the sound by deleting the entry in the registry key "Local Machine\Current User\ControlPanel\Sounds\BatteryCharging\Sound" but that does not solve the real problem.
After reading here and in some other WP7 blogs I am sure that this is a hardware problem with the USB plug unit. As my phone is just 11 months old I opened an online ticket at "SAMSUNG online repair service" who promise to answer in the next 24 hours. So I just have to wait and see...

Samsung sent me an offer to send the phone in for repair - but what should I say, the problem solved itself. For two days now the phone works normal again. So I had to cancel the service call .
mine hasnt done it in a long time either. looks like its just a temporary thing. I wonder what caused it! For me it started after I was using my phone in the rain and the usb slide was open so thats my suspect.
You may be right. Mine is "quiet" now, since a long time. Water may be the cause.
Update
Hi folks,
mine is mostly quiet again, too. Only few incidents "happen" but they do not last very long - only a few minutes. It's somehow spooky but I do not want to send it in to Samsung now when the error it not constantly reproducible.
I agree with you that there might be a correlation with humidity although I am sure that it did never get wet and I almost always keep the USB-shutter closed. Who knows ...
Sent it in
Finally I sent it in for repair today. It started ringing permananently two days ago...
Now I have to wait and see.
Final state
Okay, I received it back... and it works.
First they did nod find and could not reproduce the failure and wanted to send it back - only with a new flashed image - but fortunately the technician called me and I could describe the problem again. After waiting a few hours, the fault appeared again and they decided to change the mainboard.
I hope, that's all
Hello,
Me too it makes me after my omnia 7 is dropped in water, but problem solved.
Me too
