[BUG] DCv2.05: Pressing menu twice to unlock screen pops up menu on homescreen - Hero CDMA General

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? Only issue I've found thus far with the ROM. Otherwise, it's great!

Doesnt do that for me...

It does for me on the newest Fresh ROM. Doesn't really bother me being that I rarely unlock the screen that way. If I had someway to disable that method of unlocking alltogether, that would be better IMO.

I think it is a result of using the HTC Lockscreen rather than the stock Android one.

This happens on the Fresh 2.0d and DC2.05
It is driving me NUTS!
Any idea how to fix this?

Installing Espresso or DROID launcher from this thread will fix it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657728

have you tried pressing menu once?

I'm almost positive that this has always been a feature of the HTC lock screen even in 1.5
If you don't fully slide the lock screen a message will appear stating either fully slide down the screen or press menu

That's hardly a "fix". That's like saying you can fix the low tire on your Porsche by buying a Yugo....

I would pay cash money for a ROM that got rid of the double menu press to unlock.

I would say the issue is hardly a "bug".
But, if you want it fixed, I've given you an option. I don't know if I'd compare installing the espresso launchbar or DROID launchbar to downgrading from a Porsche to a Yugo.... but, if you were really interested in fixing the issue without using espresso or DROID, you could install one of those launchers and then reinstall the stock launcher and see if the problem stays away.
Or, you could wait until someone else figures it out for you....
All I know is that I am running DamageControl v2.05 and no longer have the menu pop-up issue.

Droid launcher does resolve that issue. I have come to like the style of it for now until the next version of this rom comes out. This is an issue with flipz rom as well. The Droid launcher works good on each rom.

Just to everyone is clear, the problem is new with the recent roms DC and Fresh.
Pressing menu once brings up the lockscreen, pressing menu again unlocks the screen AND brings up the white menu popoup. It should only unlock the screen and not open the menu.
I have installed the black droid launcher onto fresh and I no longer have the problem.

yea i have teh same problem, and its annoying as hell as thats usually the way im used to unlocking my phone, and what they mean is, click home once to wake up phone, click again to unlock and it also brings up the home menu, it never did it on any other rom. its annoying

Just to be clearer. This was a built-in function from 1.5, its on page 10 of the Sprint manual. HTC considers this to be a feature, not a bug.

Incorrect. On stock 1.5, from the lock screen, you could press menu to unlock instead of swipe. Now, if you press menu from the lock screen, it will unlock AND pull up the menu.
Regardless of whether this is a feature or a bug, it was not like this in stock 1.5.

Wing locking itself

I swear I did not change any settings, but starting yesterday my Wing would just lock itself when the screen shuts off. Anyone know how to disable this? Thanks
*edit*
another odd thing I noticed - I don't have to unlock when the phone's charging. very weird.
what programs are you using? If you hold down the end key for a second, the phone will lock. Maybe you are accidentally bumping it when you put it in your pocket or case.
Sorry I wasn't more specific... I'm running ttran's OpenTouch 3.0. when I turn on the screen (using the power button) I need to press unlock twice to get to the main menu. It's annoying and I'd like to get rid of it. idk... I didn't change anything and it just randomly started happening yesterday. help?
I agree with you PharmacySchool...I'm running Ttran's 3.0 ROM myself and the "locked" feature pop-up on me this afternoon, out of the blue. It is very annoying and I'm not sure what caused it to start happening. Was getting an address out of the contacts list, X'ed out of contacts once finished, clicked the power button to turn the screen off...next time I went to use the phone, it magically was locked and has been since. A real pain to have to hit the unlock button twice just to use the phone. Have played around a little with it, but no success on correcting the problem yet.
Make sure you're not overclocking the phone. This can cause lock ups if the CPU overheats or if it doesn't get the required voltage or for other reasons.
The lock I'm referring to and I believe PharmacySchool...is like a "key lock". How some phones have an option to lock the keys so it can't accidentally call someone if numbers get pressed by mistake or while in your pants pockets. Nothing to do with the CPU or it being overheated. All you have to do is press the button to turn the screen light off and instantly turn it back on...it's locked. You have to hit the "unlock" button on the bottom left hand corner and the tap the unlock button on the screen. After doing such...you can once again use your phone.
I have the answer!!!

I'm pretty knew at this but I ran into the same problem and I figured out how to fix it. I don't know all the fancy wording so bare w/me. On your main screen touch and hold your battery symbol/ 6th option down says DeviceLock with a green check/ uncheck that **** and your good to go.
NOW someone PLEASEEEEE create a slide 2 "answer" not a slide 2 lock. I am so tired of my phone answering its self in my pocket when I don't want it to.

I've installed S2U2-0.2-WM5 with Touch It v2.3 and had problems. I think I remember it having a slide to answer but I also remember it answering with the green button as well. Maybe there was a way to disable it but I don't know how.
Does it work better Open Touch v3.0. because thats what I'm running now.
WOW... thats an OLD version.... that version should not have the slide to answer.....Current Version is 0.99p. It can be found in the development and hacking forum. You'll need to enable the S2A feature with the settings program...Man the apps come a LONG way since your version...We got animated gif support, Random still backgrounds, an exceptions list so voice dialers will work properly and internet browsers will stay alive... Just try the new version.

[Poll] Do you like the menu-menu unlock feature?

I have just been testing out Fresh 2.1.2 and find it unfortunate that flipz has included the menu-menu disable in the vanilla lock patch. I was just wondering if I am alone here? Does everyone really have that many problems with ass dialing? I mean, I have a big ass and I almost never have this problem because the trackball really prevents you from hitting the menu button unless you have something else in your pocket.
I personally love the menu menu unlock. I've never had a problem with the phone ever turning on accidentally in my pocket, and I like being able to just pull the phone out and press a button twice to use it. I honestly get a little upset when devs include the menu menu disable patch because I feel like it's crippling my phone lol
I like it cause that way I do not have to use the infamously peeling power button. Saves the paint for just a lil bit longer.
I always use menu menu to unlock. Love that feature.
i love it... simple!!!
but currently my custom ROM..
HATE THIS!!! i have to do ... menu menu menu
1st = turn on
2nd = unlock.. and menu comes on
3rd = turn off menu!!!

That can be fixed here:
http://geekfor.me/fixes/bugfixes-requests-lock-screens/
Yeah that works. I made a feature request, will see what Flipz says.
I dont like the feature.
I used to call people at work all the time and had no idea why.
But then one day I realized while leaning on something or putting something up on shelf I would accidentally menu menu unlock and sometimes press the call button and redial the last person called.
I'm glad for the fix. Now I don't have 2 set the lock pattern each time I want to carry my phone n pocket so I don't end up calling ppl without knowing.

I dislike it, not because I'm a butt-dialer, but because I find it too easy to unlock that way. In fact, I put the rotate unlock screen on because it's more difficult to unlock that sliding the screen down.

How to remove default Slide Lock Screen?

Hey guys,
I recently downloaded an app called LockBot Pro. Which allows me to customize my own Lock Screen Slide, backgrounds and Unlocking sounds. My customize Lock Screen is running fine but I can't seem to get rid of the default Lock Screen. Like I'd have to unlock the default lock screen and then the other.. which is pretty annoying to be unlocking both. Especially when I'm in a hurry. Is there a way around this? I've tried deleting the HtcLockScreen.apk from the system but the default Lock Screen still stays.
I'm currently using;
HTC HD2
Chucky ROM
Matt Froyo 1.5
2.12 radio
Help me out yeah?
Thanks!
Hope you haven't wasted your money. Found out today that pressing <- and Windows key you can unlock Android in seconds with no lock screen required. I know, it happened in my trouser pocket!

Yeah...I purchased this app a long time ago on my MT3G and when it first came out it worked great...then the dev kept updating it and made it into a complete mess.
If you are still in your refund period, I would go that route.
I tried using it on the HD2 because I do not like the fact that I keep unlocking it in my pocket when hitting the windows key...and unfortunately, lockbot pro has become garbage.

[Q] change lock screen unlock method?

mine now doesn't have a bar going across or something to drag down like iphone/htc sense - the whole image moves instead? seems very weird and would like to change it if i can?
i can't see an option to though. would prefer an pure android type of unlock method (with a custom wallpaper though). can i do this without rooting? want to leave that for a week or 2 to get used to the phone 1st

Widgetlocker is very configureable and you can tell it to stop waking on certain button presses. I am currently using it here and it is pretty awesome.

Edite widget locker settings, if i'm not mistaking you can disable hardware buttons unlock
ta, but i already unticked everything i could under buttons and inputs but vol down e.g brings the unlock screen up when it should do nothing
think it's a limitation of android and can't really 'replace' the real lockscreen as such. maybe a version that requires root will do it, who knows.
at the very least this will cause battery rundown.
You are right. I missed your point. I was talking about unlocking. Device wakes up when you press the hardware buttons, but will not unlock with the settings i was talking about.
i missed that part of yours too.
ta for the help mate

Apps Closing When Screen Turned Off

Almost every time I push the power button to turn the screen off and then unlock the phone again almost any app I'm in has been closed. I mean it can be literally lock the phone and unlock it right away and it takes me to my home screen instead of back to the app I was in. The app is still in my recents, but as soon as I unlock the phone it takes me to my home screen.
This is happening on my unlocked version directly from OnePlus. When I try it on my T-Mobile version it doesn't close the apps and unlocks right back where I left off. It also is working correctly on my Pixel 3 XL and the RAM management is currently absolute trash on that phone.
I'm using Nova Launcher on both phones, I have tried turning off battery optimization and advanced optimization and it still does the same thing. When I use the stock launcher this does not happen.
Anyone else seeing this or know how to fix it?

Thank you, well that helps me rule out that it has nothing to do with routing or bootloader unlocked. I was starting to think that might have had something to do with it because my T-Mobile version doesn't do this.

Same thing here it doesn't always do it but it doesn't have enough to be really annoying. I can't seem to find any Rhyme or Reason as to why it's doing it.
Edit: I just walked my dog for 10 minutes came back unlock my phone and it's still on this XDA page like it's supposed to be. SMH
Ok, so this has bothered me a lot as well and I have mentioned this and a few other issues in one of my earlier posts.
It's definitely a bug especially, as it does not happen everytime (only most of the times) and OnePlus has to fix it.
However, I do have a theory on why this happens. OnePlus has added a new feature (quick launch?) which let's you access app shortcuts when you press and hold the fingerprint scanner even after unlock. Now this overlay would presumably not work very well if you're inside an app.
So I think OnePlus takes you to the home page to prepare for this quick launch shortcut overlay display.
Obviously, this is a new feature and I believe needs some more development and bug fixing.
I would've hoped that at least turning the quick launch feature off would rid us of this problem, but sadly it doesn't.
Hopefully it's fixed soon.
can you guys check if you have my prob aswell?

I have a super annoying Problem when using Nova Launcher. My Dialer minimizes when i move my Phone away from my Ear. To reproduce: Open Dialer, minimize the Dialer, open again and make a Call, block the Sensor with your hand shortly. Looks like the Dialer crashes but it minimizes. For ending the Call i have to press the little icon in the Top Bar to maximize it first. Super annoying and with this Problem Nova Launcher is unusable. Somebody else with that Prob or someone have a suggetion to fix that?
I noticed the same problem, I thought I was just swing up to go back home before I hit the power button to turn off the screen out of habit and not realizing it. Glad to know I'm not crazy. I am stock from one plus but running Nova launcher.

I updated from the Play Store and tried every single app on my phone and when I unlocked my phone they were still there no more going straight to the home screen.
