Got a ton of icons on my storage card, but I have no idea how I can change the icons I'm currently using to the ones on the storage card. Or is it a lot more difficult than it sounds?

It IS possible, but I'll let one of the more experienced people here tell you exactly how (I'm not well-versed on the process.....yet).
But, in the meantime, would you be willing to zip up your icon collection and sharing it? I'm always looking for new icons to use...I can already replace them on the slider bar, next thing to learn is the program ones

The question of how easy it is depends on which OS you're running... if it's 6.5 I recommend using JWMD's Icon Changer, but many recommend Showaco's reSTART. The 'how to' instructions for each app can be found in that thread I just linked.
If it's 6.1 it's more cumbersome as you have to edit the link. I don't bother with it and instead customize whatever shell I'm using at the time.

Do these same programs change the icons on the home tab? I like the icons in my start menu, but the icons on the home tab are different for the same programs.

hopefully a simple one this...
I'm using VJSMS (the new version) and want to create simple icons just with a bit of text on them (or a photo) so I know who each one is for. I'm using SPB Pocket Plus to give me instant access to these SMS shortcuts.
However, I cannot find how to let it display my new icons!!!
I can find how to change an icon within SPB, but it only gives me a choice of its own icons, not the ones I've put on my SD card.
I can see how to use the "Default Icon" which presumably is set within WM2005...
But how do I get it to show my custom icons? If I could change (per shortcut) the icon it uses within WM2005, this would be enough.

Some guys have posted about how to make icons for this launcher, but I'm afraid I've never used it. I'll try to remember who asked and how they sorted it, but AFAIK there's a limit on how many custom icons you can have?

I have tried to search and find what to do to install a theme that has icons, and cannot figure it out. Do I need some program that everyone is using? Also on dialer skins how are those installed?
Do skins kill battery life or use alot of system resources?

What theme? If its HTC home, you install the .cab file from the phone or sync the phone to pc and double click .exe.
If its a .tsk file, Put the file in the windows directory of the phone then go to today screen and select from there.
Skins dont use a lot of system resources UNLESS they are actively doing something( S2U2 for example if you install a moving gif as your wallpaper) as they are just being used instead of the originals.. Cheers...
yea, u need to be a wee bit more clear as to what you want, you're probably new and dont know the right terms, so maybe if you posted some pics we could understand a bit better what u are trying to achieve.

I think that I will need a plug in to show the icons. I installed a tsk theme but it only changed the color of the top and bottom bars, but did not show the large clock or icons like that one. I saved it to the memory card, not within a folder and I was able to browse find and install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that big clock is the htc home plugin, which you can download all over this forum, or at www.pocketemu.com which incidentally also has another program called htc home customizer, which would be the easiest way to customize the home icons. It may not have that exact theme you are looking for, so the best way to get that theme is to ask the person who posted that screenshot

Ditto. Welcome to the addiction...I'm lucky to keep the same clock and icons for more than a week...
The touch flow 3d programs tab uses the default crappy icons for the programs shortcuts, does any one know whether we can use our own slightly larger icons for these shortcuts?
Try TFL3DTABICONSV3.cab - I've installed them on the Touch HD and they work fine. Colour icons. Wish I knew who did them so I could attribute properly.
Edit: Oops. Too much haste reading your post. The above icons replace the TF3D tab icons, not those in the Programs tab.

This looks to be from the Diamond forum, does it include an icon for the Stocks tab??
It doesn't include a colour icon for the Stocks tab, so it still uses the original b/w one.
Overall, a very neat little upgrade!!

Yes, it works well sans the stock icon. I use this along with the NoTopCurtain and SemiTransparent_bottom_Bar and Pamas Transparent Slider. Provides a nicer look. Cheers.

regarding the topic of the thread, im not sure if its been discovered before but iv found a way to add your own icons in the programs.
Using resci registry editor or similur go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
You will notice that theres 23 folders in there
Now lets say you have atleast 1 program activated, the program details for that should be in folder "0", you will see in that folder that the path for the application is stated, you also notice that there is a string called "IconPath", put the path of the icon you want into that string and then save.
Move to a different tab (any other then programs) and then come back to the programs tab and you'l notice the icon has changed to your preference.
One slight issue is that the icons become really small, im looking into how that can be changed. Im asuming theres one of two solutions, either
1. Change the resolution of the icons
2. or set the size some how in the registry
(Im looking into it, and please post any findings you have in this thread)
Another discovery I made is that by copying one of the folders in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher and then pasting it back into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher with the next number 24 (there are only 23 folders, represeting 23 possible program links in the programs tab) and saving it, gives you another possible application link in the programs tab.
The only problem with that is when you select it and add an application it remains blank.

Just a suggest:
* possible to make it "Scrolling"? Like those TouchFLO Tabs, but... of course, they are program icons...
edit: The concept like the TouchFLO tabs... those icons only take 1 row to display, so when they have more (>6 icons in my case) those icons will drawn off-screen, then a swipe (or drag) a icon horizontally scroll the row of icons to reveal those off-screen ones
This will save a lot of screen estste when people put a lot of icon inside.
edit: This piece works well with my *OLD* Asus P750...

How about having the option to add links to programs? And perhaps with parameters as well. In that case you can skip the option about doc's etc, since you can add link to any doc, program on memory cards etc. And we can freely add programs always located at the same place that are not installed after a hard reset.

Excellent app - replaces the old Eten quicklinks, which suffered greatly from "losing" entries when a new shortcut appeared in \Windows\Start Menu. EasyToday does not have this "feature"
But, SELECT is only one link at a time, you have to return to the list screen for each link that you want checked. So maybe v1.2 willallows multiple selections off the list screen ?

Like this app a lot, but have a suggestion/feature request:
Add the ability to have multiple "pages" of icons that you can flip between with a left/right swipe motion.
I know that's probably not the easiest thing to implement, but it would be awesome.
(actually just noticed Clound pretty much said the same thing -- great minds think alike!)

Second vote for this! This is a great application for those of us who prefer today screen over the touch flow.
I would like some space between the icons to make selection easier. 5 or 4 icons per row with a buffer horizontally, vertical height is fine...

Personally I use folder organizer (from the market). It allows you to change an icon for a particular app or create a folder with several app in it. For example, a games folder with the icon of your choice will open a folder with whatever games you put in it (and can customize those icons as well)

Okay, sorta works but a little too convoluted... You have to change each icon individually then add each app you've changed as a widget. I'm looking to do something more in the way of an icon pack that will swap out all the icons at once (of the ones I've made and apps supported).
I use Desktop Visualizer; however, this is also a 'one at a time' process.
I am not familiar with a process to change the icons 'en mass'.
This is a great thread for icon packs and there's some basic information on changing icons in the first post. It's possible though, that one of the icon developers listed in the thread will be able to answer your question.
