TomTom & SlideIT - HD2 General

Hey Guys,
I have a problem wit the combination SlideIT and TomTom.
I have installed TT on my SD card and installed the autorotate.cab for TT.
When I run TT and put it in landscape the SlideIT keyboard shows up and I can not get away anymore...
Any Solutions??

Don't think this issue is related to Tom Tom at all. I had the trial version of SlideIT installed on my X1.
When ever I slid open the keyboard, the screen rotated I had the same problem with SlideIT opening up. If I closed SlideIT, then it opened up again when I slide the keyboad back.
Didn't find any solution to the problem.

Not directly; but I have TT Nav. 6 working on the HD2 and I used BsB Tweaks to enable landscape mode by tilting the device. It works perfectly.

How to use another keyboard on my P3600?

I am desperately looking for a (working!) method to use another keyboard (like the good cootek touchpal keyboard) on my HTC P3600 (WM5). I tried the software IMSelector as well as SIPChange but it works only a few times!I reboot many times but I always keep the default keyboard...
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance
I'm not sure about free software but I use SKTools and it get me the correct keyboard all the time.
I've got SKTools !
But how to use it?
Hi,
I have an identical problem with the TouchPad or TouchKeyboard installed on my P3600. I've found that removing some of the object on the Today screen help TouchPad to start. So today, i've only a few items (messaging and SBP Diary) on my Today screen.
I also wait a little bit before entering my pin code for the phone until i see touchpad started (it shows the keyboard for a few seconds).
Since then, i "don't" have so much problems.
Ced
Thanks for your help!
what about the pocketcm keyboard?
www.pocketcm.com
i use this on my p3600 (wm6) and it works well.
I already used it but I had the same problem as the touchpal keyboard

you say you have p3600 with wm6 !?
I've asked htc to know if there is an upgrade to wm6 and they said NO !
how can upgrade my p3600 to wm6?
I'm french, so i want if it's possible an upgrade in french ...
Thank's for your respons
Alternate SIPs not showing up is a well discussed problem in the Trinity forum, having just reinstalled everything on my own Trinity it seems that it is memory related, once the free RAM is below about half then alternate SIPs tend to be reluctant to work reliably.

HD rarely uses landscape mode

Folks,
I only got my baby yesterday, but is anyone else finding this?
For me, the device will only switch to landscape mode for Opera, Photos & Videos, and Teeter. Not in TouchFlow 3D Home or any of its tabs, Mobile Office apps, TomTom 7, ...anything!
I've tried turning off Touchflow 3D and rebooting with no effect and with the G-Sensor there is no manual setting to force landscape.
This makes the keyboard in TomTom tiny and means that the screen isn't that much more usable for Office apps than my venerable old 2.8" TyTn.
Please could someone tell me if it's just my phone that's afflicted or is it a "feature"?
Thanks!

no thats totally normal. and known since the first infos of the HD came out.
If you really want full landscape switching, get Gyrator2 or Gsen. both can be found on this forum
It doesn't help you, JTHM, but I hardly ever use landscape mode in my Touch (Elf) so perhaps the way the Touch HD works is by design for people like me. The only time landscape mode offers any advantage to me is for photos, videos and web browsing. With the mini USB connector at the bottom, my Touch is always in its cradle in portrait orientation and it sits in the car more easily this way too.
I'm surprised there's no manually-activated landscape option in the software though.
(Sorry that this post doesn't really help you but perhaps it illustrates that for some (maybe most?) users the lack of landscape isn't a problem at all and may therefore be by design.)
Hang on, can I clarify.
I like to use my xda2i in landscape with my bluetooth travel keyboard sometimes. Does this mean that i can't just rotate the screen to landscape and use it in landscape mode with my keyboard??

I think that raziel1 has already answered that question? Use Gyrator2 or Gsen both of which can be found in this forum.
It does seem to be missing a trick by not have some software button built in to switch the screen though.
I had one flaw with the HD: The typing. I wanted (like Iphone) to use the keyboard in landscape so i had more room for my fingers. But the HD doesn't do that standard.
I installed Gyrator 2 and set it to switch to landscape when i use my keyboard. In every application, now when I use my keyboard and tilt the device, the screen rotates.
It made my HD even better.
Which is better? Gsen or Gyrator? I know they have other features but I only want an app to rotate landscape and uses minimal memory as I guess it needs to be running on start up.
ok, gyrator is a PROGRAM. I thought it was another handset or something. oh as long as there is soemthing you can do te get the landscape working that's sweet for me. I'm really close to buying one of these beasts!
I'm surprised that TomTom doesn't rotate automatically.
I've sure I've seen screen shots of it in Landscape mode and wouldn't have thought those web site's had installed any other third-party screen orientation software.
Beards.
You can also purchase Resco keyboard. It has large keys that you can use with your fingers. Well that depends how big your fingers are. Best to download a copy of the program, install it and test it out.
And since the screen is 3.8, it should give you plenty of space on top to see your message?

yeah, after another reboot it's working now. tried it in a couple apps and seems fine so far... funny thing is with the streaming video app, when you go to fullscreen it auto rotates the screen, but as soon as you move the hd to landscape position gyrator rotates it again... will need to check out the docs on how to add exceptions.

Igo8 and keyboard problem

Hi, nobody has problem with this things? After each restart, Resco keyboard is changed back to default keyboard and Igo 8.0 after fixing is periodically fixed and unfixed each second. Igo 8.3 shut down during start screen... Rom is 1.40.405.3. What Rom do you have? Or any ideas? Thanx
I have the same issue with Resco Keyboard. But not any problem with iGo8.XXX
Resco solved by cooked ROM Igo problem is about GPS, not software :-(

TomTom on NaviPanel?

Thanks for tips&tricks, it's awesome.
One thing is missing for me - how to change defaulting from CoPilot to TomTom? This would be great as TT is not recognizing g-sensor, and starting from NaviPanel could start TT in landscape mode.
re
This is how works with IGO8
maybe with Tomtom will be similar.

This registry edit worked for me to let TT recognize the g-sensor:

Tom Tom Navigator Keyboard Issue

Hey guys, i have the tom tom navigator program on my tilt 2 and i love it but i was wondering when i use my physical keyboard on the phone to type in an address itll give me the letter i typed following with an "a" with a little circle on top of the a. When i use the on screen keyboard on the program it works normally. What can be the problem? it only happens in the tom tom navi program. The keyboard works normally for text and what not. Just when using the physical keyboard on tom tom it'll give me that weird a symbol.
you're using the wring version. There's an update. You just copy over two files in the navigator directory.
oh where can i get the update? and what are the 2 files? thanks
I have tried multiple versions myself. The only thing that worked for me was changing to a newer version of Maps. When I revert back to the old map I get the circles. Luckily I can live with the newer map . BTW using Cuckoo's original which can be found in the TT topic.
oh, whats the tt topic?
