Keyboard broken?
No offense but this has already been posted in the corresponding thread. No need to open a new one. It is (probably) related to the new Manila version.
Best Regards and a happy new year!

A new thread for that: braaavo noob!

this is a problem for all. sorry for thread

My friend, no need to open a new thread for this kind of problems. Just report it to Dutty (he already knows about the problem). And wait for an update from Dutty himself. Opening threads like this makes this forum full of threads that don't get answered. They only make a lot of traffic and disorder. I don't know what the moderators are doing here. They only close things that could be useful but oh no not this kind of thread.

Hi,

Try this one also. Have no problem with it.

Use MaxManila 2.7 - it works perfectly : 20 quicklinks and all tabs same wallpaper

And NO, MaxManila does NOT work either. Stop giving suggestions without testing them first.
We are talking about Dutty's ROM not some other ROMs. "20 shortcuts" or "16 shortcuts" won't work on the version of Manila Dutty is using. Just for now.
(They work but with bugs. Alarm button not working and weather animation freezes)

I think the thread title should be changed.
This is not just with Dutty's ROM. This problem is there in every ROM that is using the Sense Manila version 2.5.19222911.0
So, Please change the title of this thread to reflect this information.

Friend - I am using this Dutty Rom Manila 2.5 on my HD2 and MaxManila 2.7 works 100 % without any problems. All the features of maxManila 2.7 works without any problems - I selected 20 quicklinks . Infact I just test it again with 16 quicklink and there is ABSOLUTELY nio issue at all. The Alarm also NO issue and weather animation is perfect so much so I never like it and I always turn it off with MaxManila 2.7. Perhaps is other installed software affecting you are unable to have it done.
After installed the rom, I restored my email/SMS/PIM. Then I install BSB tweaks - configure it , reset and then I install MaxManila 2.7. After MaxManila 2.7 successfully installed , I proceed further to customize it further with clock chnages and visual customizations from DJcedric cabs . I have again I say ABSOLUTELY no problems and the whole rom is still pretty stable - already having it on my unit last 10 hours

ok mate. I have done a hard-reset and installed nothing but max-manila 2.7 and the bugs are still there. so I think there is something else that you do. I will play some more with max manil and will report back.
I think you didn't get what the bugs are. The "alarm" on the home screen won't launch the "alarm prgram" and when the weather animation (like when clouds flying all over the home screen, you slide the slider to another tab (messeges or whatever) and back to home screen, the clouds are frozen in the middle of the home screen. They don't move)

Alarm on homescreen will launch alarm program immediate ; and weather animations no such issue of freezing. Infact I very simple user - I just choose what I want from the MaxManila 2.7 options. The only fancy items are changing the analogue clock and the clock backgrounds ; others are status quo as per MaxManila 2.7. After I have fully setup homescreen to my desire, only then I proceed installed all the 3rd party programs
Anyway I cannot comment further as I am very happy and it works perfectly for me.
The only irritating issue is when I choose to change the homescreen wallpaper it is not immediate; I have to slide the bottom tabs few times to have the change effected and the wallpaper is same across all tabs

I mean that's very very weird. Could you send a picture of your home screen? If it's difficult for you, just forget it.
PS. it would be great if others could confirm that Manila Max works without any bugs.
Thanks a lot for the info mate.

I am uisng on dutty´s rom the version from Jaguaralani.
it is working BUT I have noticed one problem:
If you add a shortcut you cannot see the icon. After a soft reset the icon is visible (probably a restart of HTC-Sense would be the same).
Best regards
dingolino

And you don't have any of the bugs mentioned above?
If you don't then, there is something very weird going on here. How can the same .cab file behave differently on two devices? Anyone able to answer that?

Jaguaralani's mod causes the displaced background issue and alarm bug, the same as both of Vovichek & Jamrecords cabs. I will give Max's 2.7 cab a go now and report back with my findings.

This looks really cool. Before I install it I would like to know if it will cleanly un-install if I wanted to, reverting me back to my original setup. I use a standard TP2.

I have done just that in creating this theme. Installed and un-installed multiple times without a problem. Remember to disable TF3D prior to doing so.
hi im trying to uninstall it and wont do so. it keeps saying " it has not uninstalled completely, would you like to remove from the install list" and i hit yes but it still stays there.. only thing that was removed was the wallpaper.. icons on the tabs are still there.. stock tmobile tp2
Hi just installed it and the clock numbers have changed as per the screenies but the background to the clock is transparent and the background to the main screen didn't change. The rest of it looks fantastic.
I uninstalled it and have notices that when you select wallpaper it no longer asks you if you "would like to use the default one" before you browse for another one. Other than that it seems to have uninstalled fine
Edit :- Out of interest, is it possible to have the theme with the original HTC clock ?
@noodles... did you disable touch flo before you uninstalled it ?

What device did you install this on? If you were using a crystal flip clock or Non-Verizon setup, then this will only change the numbers. Verizon does not use a flip clock.

Thanks for the quick reply. Mine is a stock HTC European version. Is it possible to have it without changing the clock. Also the wallpaper on the clock screen did not change but the rest of the tabs had the new background. I guess this can be changed by manually chaning the wallpaper. Have you got the wallpaper as a seperate file ?
Thanks again.

I would have to make a separate CAB without the clock files.. Wallpaper is attached.
Thanks for the wallpaper. Transparent clock or not, you did a fantastic job. If you ever get round to creating a cab without changing the clock I would be most grateful. Thanks again.
yea i have i installed HDWall Hero because the homescreen did not have the hero wallpaper but i uninstalled that, then i installed your theme again and then uninstalled and finally got it removed.. thank you

Slightly off topic, but I usually find that if you try to uninstall something and you get the message that it was not completely uninstalled and then asks if you want to remove it from the list and you click "Yes", it remains in the list. But if you go to install it again, it goes through the usual process of "The old installation of "XYZ" will be removed first...etc". It will actually remove it and not install it again. Strange, but it works!
Nice theme btw! (as always)
O man this is great again, I love your theme work!
Could it be don get the clock working, or looking like, the Verison setup for the WWE version's as well?

Bert

TF3D 2.1 with weather (or not?) on home tab (T-Mobile version) - TEST VERSION

Hi all - I'll be the proud owner of a T-Mobile TP2 in a few days. I didn't notice any cabbed up version of TF3D2.1 1919, so I took a stab at my own cab. Since I don't yet have my new phone, I can't test.
Anyone who wants to test it for me ... here it is.
Registry settings are for WM6.1. For 6.5, do this in your registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila]
"IsWM6.5"=dword:1
Oh, and if there's already a working cab out there, someone provide a link, and I'll ask a mod to close this thread.
I'm gonna test it later tonight, if it work you are my god
nice looking, but does not work on my stock rom ...
Can you be more specific about what didn't work? Did the install itself fail? Does TF3D fail to start? It starts, but you don't see any difference?
Because I can't test (yet), whatever specific feedback you can provide will help.
Thanks,
Lou
install works great, TF3D start and work, nice violet and white theme, custom icons, tabs and more but no weather on home tab

It's possible this build doesn't do what I think it does -- just started catching up on Rhodium stuff, and maybe I misunderstood something or wrongly connected some dots. Notice any other new features?

Do Touch HD Mods work on the Imagio?

I am receiving my Imagio tomorrow morning finaly and plan to mod it right away and I am wondering if the mods/ tweaks for the Touch HD will work? Especially this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544422 and if there is a version with out the theme applied? thanks for anyone help. I will be in the game tomorrow to help anyone else out as well.
I hope so, because that theme looks really good. I'll give it a try.
Tried it on mine . Took 10 minutes to load ( 11 MB ) and after i reset nothing happened , still had the same theme I had before (stock). Took remove programs 10 minutes to delete it. A big waste of time.
Well, the only thing that changes is there's a Dusk theme under the Today settings that changes the lockscreen and adds a nice gradient to the taskbar and softkeys, but TouchFlo is completely unchanged.
alright well thanks for testing. I wasn't sure an didn't have the phone yet at the moment. I have been installing cabs that I have through out the day and will report later on what cabs work for me and what ones do not.

I think thats because TouchFLO has to be cooked into the rom. You can't just install a cab of it.
That link I believe is just a theme of touchFLO 2.5, and in order for it to work it requries that you have the software already cooked into the rom.
That's what I was thinking, but I couldn't check as, well, I can't exactly flash a Manila 2.5 ROM to my Imagio yet, haha.

[Q] moving items en start menu ?

Hi, on Wm6.5 roms for the touch HD you can press and hold on the start menu items an move them arround but in the HD2 you can only send them to top. Thats is a really ugly to reorder lots of icons.
I think there must be a key in the registry to set this behaviour but cant find it.
Someone knows it?

I use JWMD Icon Changer V1.9 beta for Windows Mobile 6.5 to change the order of the start menu items... Works well.
Hope this helps...
This is not in the registry. Its in a SYS file named gwes ithink. Only way to fix it is by flashing to cooked ROM or update from HTC.

Does JWMD work for anyone else on their HD2?
On my old phone both JWMD Icon Changer and Showaco reSTART worked great in arranging the icons. On the HD2 however, neither seems to work.
JWMD arranges most of the icons on my HD2, but it doesn't rearrange them all (like the settings icon, it appears randomly in the list) and the ones that it does rearrange don't stay where they are supposed to and move after a little while.
What has HTC done to the Start menu to make it different? Because rearranging icons worked great on my old phone with these same exact programs.

I think that behaviour can be cause htc icons are created every time the phone reboots. There is a cab somewhere here (i think is in the tips thread) that disable the recreation of icons so after that you will have no problem. I hope that works

Thanks for the input, but I already solved the issue (by doing a hard reset, heh).
JWMD works great now though, and with some spiffy icons makes my HD2 almost perfect - the disorganized icons were really bugging me.

Found! Cause of slowness in Sense 2.5 animated weather

Hi all, I thought I'd share a mini breakthrough I had with Animated Weather performance on the Sense 2.5 home screen on the TP2. The animation is 100% fast and smooth if you DON'T activate any wallpaper.
I'm using the stock WM 6.5 South East Asia ROM with the stock Manilla version 2.5.20121225.0. I was recently forced to reload my TP2 after a bad application install required a hard reset. I immediately noticed how much faster the weather animation was after the hard reset. It was 100% fast and smooth. So I only made incremental changes until I determined what the cause of the slowness was.
As soon as I enabled ANY of the weather wallpapers, the performance of the animated weather dropped to around 70%. The problem is that there's no way to remove the wallpaper after you've selected one - you can only change it to a different wallaper - so I had to do a hard reset again to restore the animated weather performance to 100%.
Does anyone know if there is a way of removing the wallpaper using a registry edit or a file system edit?
I know that Max Manilla has a 'remove wallpaper' feature in it, but I've found that the weather animation is still only around 70% with Max Manilla installed.
Have you also tried to slide up on the homepage, to display the 9 quicklaunch buttons? That also gives a fast, and smooth weather animation, even with a wallpaper.
The wallpaper itself is not the issue, it's the elements that are on the homepage that cause the problem (clock, calendar).
I think you can remove the wallpaper in the registry. It should be in [HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila].
Yes I think you're right, but I also believe that the wallpaper is like an additional element that the animation struggles with. If I have a wallpaper enabled then I can only have another 1-2 elements displayed before the animation suffers. With no wallpaper I can have 1. the clock (with the weather insert) 2. the calender and 3. the quick links, all displayed, and still have excellent animation performance.
I'll have a look at that registry key after work tonight and see if I can find the setting to disable the wallpaper.
I'd probably say those "elements" like the clock and short cuts and email and missed call notifactions are probably more important to ...... everyone.... then having clouds float across their screen

What I'm saying is, you can have all the elements displayed AND the weather animation nice and smooth, as long as you don't enable a wallpaper. I for one, happen to like the animation

Thanks for the tip. I found out that if you've enabled a wallpaper and now you want to disable it you just delete these 2 entries from the registry:
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CachedBackgroundPath
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\HomeBackgroundPath
Neither of them exist prior to enabling a wallpaper
So, is it smoother once you delete these keys ?

It will be smoother but you will lose your wallpaper
Another way to improve animation performance is to minimize the number of things appearing on the home screen. I recommend using Cookie's home tab to remove the quicklinks
That way you can keep your wallpaper, have smooth weather animation, and still have access to quicklinks by swiping up
(Actually the clock involves a lot more lua scripts so removing the clock would be more effective...but I don't think anyone would do that )

I have a better idea... removing everything from the main screen. This way it will be very very fast.
Come on let's be serious !!! If you remove the quicklinks and a few other stuff you'd better with Sense 2.1
If removing the wallpaper makes an actual difference it's worth it (I like having a black or dark one anyway...). Btw Valkyrie ROMs are quite smooth even with the wallpaper on (Just wanna see if I can get it even faster)
Alcibiade said:

It's definitely smoother after you delete these keys. Even if you've selected a black wallpaper, deleting these keys will still help because it actually removes the wallpaper altogether, so there's one less thing the animation has to contend with.
I can't say if this is a good idea for those of you who have Cookies Home Tab or Max Manila installed. It works great for me though, on a stock ROM running Sense 2.5. Back up the Manila registry key first if you're not sure, so it can be easily restored. It seems there's no need to disable Touch Flo while making these changes - they can be made on the fly while touch flo is still running.
I tried this (deleting the two registry entries) on the stock Sprint 6.5 ROM - works great! Noticable improvement on the home page. Thank you!

come on dude...it's not like you will lose the quicklinks altogether...all you're compromising is an addition swipe
but anyways I myself prefer no weather animation, it's all up to the user

Man, same here.
It kinda irritated me in the first place having redundant information (to the weather tab) making Home tab elements harder to read, but then when I realized the effect it had on performance, it was GONE-dee.

Yes- it's called a registry editor, and there are a number of options (Total Commander, PHM Registry Editor, etc).
If you don't know what you're doing, though, be careful- don't start deleting things you don't think need to be there, and so on. You can mess up the system in a fundamental way.
Thanks for helping, downloading Resco Explorer, will let you know what have I done with it

After changing my clock to an analogue one (from the Fallout theme here), the weather animation is a lot smoother. Everything is a lot smoother actually, so changing the clock does wonders for everything really.
Holy crap! You're right! I've been irritated with laggy homescreen for so long and it's that damn clock! Thanks for the tip!
i think is not related with the clock but the weather icon which below the clock...when i use cookie home tab and i use "clock without weather"...my homepage weather animation immediate feel lot smoother and faster...
Any way to just dissable the full screen weather animation? i want the weather... just dont care for the animation that comes up on the whole screen.
