Hmmmm..... Wish they would make up their minds about this! Either that or have the right hand tell the left hand what they are doing and visa-versa!
Now, where can I get ahold of that 4.01.00 ROM that's running loose?
MrDollyMaker.
$8 an hour customer service reps
Anybody seriously think they train these people or provide extraneous info on something as obscure as a software update for a phone product they're barely promoting?
No. You sit in front of a terminal and look up account information. Maybe you get a raise if you can pick from a series of canned e-mail responses and get to be on the online support team.
Odds are the thing will show up here or from some other, more progressive country.
Just IMHO.

I"m actually in agreement with you, as when I have had problems and called their support, that was what they explained to me.... unless I get to this "tier 4" or higher which is their development team level. I believe they said there is like 6 or 7 tiers. 4 being the begining development level and consisting of like 20 people or something like this. :?:
Same runaround from ATT
I talked to ATT today and although I will give the tech credit for spending 30 or so minutes trying to find out the status of the upcoming upgrade, the final result was about the same as with TM. Thier final suggestion was to check on the Seimens site. That is a waste of time as the main Siemens site has no reference to the SX-56. I did find the last ATT updates that on www.mysiemens.com, but no mention of the update.
It is sad to say, but I think the telcos are trying to forget these devices and move on to the newer stuff that is easier to support. Remember that they have been used to phones that either worked or didn't. With all the concern regarding the upcoming cell # portability that occurs on the 24th (here in US), you would think that they would be doing everything possible to build customer loyality.

Buying HTC TOUCH HD

Hi. I have question. Somebady buy from that shop phone4ultd.com ?
With delivery will cost me 440$. It's true or fake?
car phone warehouse do it for £440 on o2 but is a unlocked phone got my phone from there ,you do have to ask them to look up the deal
hi all,i cheked the site and its too good to be true rite?? at 400 dollars its less than half the price of what other outlets are selling...is this for real??
I'd guess that the first fake THDs from China will arrive soon. Stay away or burn.
well a quick check on companies house returns:

so its a "legit" company limited and registered in the uk
however, its odd that for a UK company all their prices are in dollars and not very professional to have a company email address as [email protected] (havent they ever heard of email redirection?) or a company phone number as : +44 795-175-0314 (UK mobile number)
but if it is real and so are the fones, i might order 10 at $4400 and sell then on ebay at £400 each thus making myself a tidy £1000 profit for doing squat
buyer beware i feel
440.00 USD = 303.426 GBP delivered, a HUGE £140 cheaper than a massive company like CPW. something dont smell right
Wouldnt touch it with a barge pole.....
Hi Guys,
I am in the UK & yes we have a long established co' called phones4u, with an 0800 freephone no' (the tv adverts are pants though<S>), but....
They are www.phones4u.CO.UK, not .COM
After having a shuftie, this is definately a spoof site, so beware.
Cheers, Shane
In carphonewarehouse in UK I might buy HTC TOUCH HD for 440 pounds?
that is the phones4u web site and it is .co.uk and not .com just try google and see but ,still looks to good to be true at that price

i would suggest saying it is a spoof site is possibly libellous as it is a genuine 'companies house' registered company, although i agree the name is so close as to have people stumble across it by mistake if looking for the larger more advertised company
How does phones4ultd.com suddenly become phones4u.co.uk?
Are people really that gullible?
this is pure ****, I tried contact "them" if they really exist. And I got nothing, no mail no phone
and from the looking of the site you can directly tell that
stay away ^_^

You misunderstand - the company that's been found at companies house is PHONES4U, a large and reputable retailer here in the UK. Their website is www.phones4u.co.uk
The "company" referred to by the OP is www.phone4ultd.com - a quick glance at that site confirms it's absolutely no relation to Phones4u, and is simply trying to trade on exactly this kind of confusion. "Phone4ultd" is NOT companies house registered and doesn't appear to be UK based at all - given the unlikely pricing and attempt to confuse, I'm quite comfortable calling it out as a scam site, and if "Phone4ultd"'s solicitors want to get in contact over my libel I'll look forward to hearing from them!
EDIT: just realised that at www.phone4ultd.com/info.HTML they're actually quoting Phones4u's companies house registration - make no mistake, this is a SCAM. For genuine info on the real Phones4u (including that companies house registration number again) see www.phones4u.co.uk/info/info_home.asp

Is that O2 pay as you go? I have an O2 simplicity contract that I don't want to change (600mins, 1000txts and unlimited internet for £20pm) and want to buy a Touch HD - and sell my Touch Diamond on eBay.
£440 for a brand new unlocked one sounds very good considering most places are £500+, and the cheapest eBay unlocked / unbranded is about £485

[Q] Any developers keen to distribute a time-limited version?

My business partner and I have been working on a project where each Sunday afternoon, we send out an email to our subscribers, with links to 4 apps for our users to trial for 7 days for free. We're looking for apps that are normally sold commercially, and where the developer is able to create a custom build for us, that has a hard coded expiration date.
The idea is, users will sign up for our mailing list, and every Sunday, our users get four new apps to try out. Then, the following Sunday, the developer offers their apps on sale for half price and our users that liked the apps can be converted to customers.
Is anyone interested in promoting their app through us?
I'm not guaranteeing this'll be a huge deal straight away, but it could be a nice little promotion for commercial app developers.

Whitelabel apps sales portal :: Apphamster.com

Sell your ready made apps (whitelabel Apps) again and again on Apphamster.com for FREE!
We offer developers the option to meet clients who are looking for applications against affordable rates and would not mind that the application has already been published once in a different name and design, in a different country or region.
Why would a restaurant owner from New York mind if another restaurant in Paris, Amsterdam or even Los Angeles also has the same application in a different layout design?…he wouldn’t if the agreement with the developer was clear about it and he got the app against a lower rate.
Most commonly this group of clients owns a small business and would like to have their own app. Unfortunately their budget is not big enough to custom design from a blank page, and why would they? Most application varieties have been designed by now.
Developers think about it, the possibilities are endless! You could copy your source code into a dozen new applications and re-sell these to clients around the world who could have what they need for their small business, against affordable rates.
Let us give you some simple examples:
- A car dealer car sales app,
- A destination travel app,
- A real estate app,
- A pizza delivery app,
- All of these applications can be used all over the world by many clients.
You could offer your current portfolio, or even develop new ‘white labeled’ designs for certain applications.
Service Contracts, Sales & Lease
Besides the initial development you could setup service contracts or offer future development.
You could sell your application for a single rate, or you could offer it for a lease. This would lower the initial expense for the user, and make it easier to choose for your app.
