s there a tweak to make volume louder when talking on the phone - Imagio General

thought I would post this question on this website as well:
Is there a tweak for the Imagio that can make the volumer louder when talking on the phone with someone. Sometimes I have the volume bars all the way to the highest that they can go and at times I cant hear everything that the other person is saying.
Please advise.
** Update - just found this, has anyone tried it.

Ear Speaker Volume Low

Is there a way to increase the ear speaker volume on the phone? When I'm making a call and I walk outside I can barely hear the person I am calling. I have to be in a fairly quite place to hear clearly on my Titan. I tried increasing the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Phone/"Vol" value but I'm not sure that really did anything.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cab to lower the incall volume?

Would anybody please try to make a cab that would somehow lower the incall volume?
I know there are many of us that "hate" our Leo for damaging our ears! Please help us fix that!
Don't point us to HTC support! Have been trying that for about 7 weeks now, with no real result but pathetic fixes.

GG
First off I will be moving this thread to general when I have finished responding.
Secondly, can you explain your problem a little better please. If you really mean turn the in-call volume down, ie NOT when the phone is in speakerphone mode, you can do this now by simply holding the down volume key while in the call to make it happen.
If this is not what you mean then have another go at explaining yourself.
Cheers

unless i've read this wrong i think you win the worst question of the year award...lol
as above, just turn down the volume.
sorry to but in here and sorry if its a noob question but i've had the same problem...
when i answer a call the volume is so loud everyone around me can hear the call!
now i've tried clicking the side key to lower the volume but it goes to the black screen with the bar and silent and vibrate on there and its only on 6%
I'd want to say (another noob comment) that i have sometimes found the sound is irregular, sometimes its low but normally very loud... isnt there meant to be a function where you place the phone next to you're ear and it lowers the volume so its not damaging you're ears?
I think that question is valid. You can only turn it down so much. All sounds on HD2 are too loud; be it call, music, speakerphone, ringing. You can hear speaker breaking at 50%, and your ears bleeding at more. Distortion is present even at low values.
So, I'm with OP, but I want to expand request: how to lower ALL volume on HD2? In other words, instead 10-100%, I want 1-10%.
maybe i just havent noticed due to being pretty much death
the question should be: how to reduce the default incall vol, is that right?
The earpiece and handsfree produce a lot of noise, I agree. there are a few threads already about volume too high and poor sound quality i.e. distorted audio. with earpiece calls try raising the volume first to just above minimum, then keep lowering the volume even when level indicator has reached minimum to reduce call volume further.
Don't be quick to judfe please!

Maybe I haven't explain myself well enough. Why do you and all the smart asses that gave all that cheap advice think that just because we're not mods or developers we're dumb.
It is a well known problem with the HD2. Even with the volume all the way down (while talking on the phone) it's still very loud!!!! Very Very Loud! And I don't mean that trough speaker phone but through the earpiece!
Does this justify my frustration and my legitimate question?
If you can't say nothing good say nothing at all!
thank you!
I know of those threads!

If you think that making fun of someone else's problem is funny think again!
We do expect more of the senior members here but then again maybe we're wrong in doing so!
why do you assume I don't know how to use the volume buttons?
It's a well known fact that hd2 is very loud while incall and even with the volume all the way down is still too loud!!!
G
its loud indeed,
I and I would be personally intrested in lowering the top volume, so highest settings are more reasonable, and stepping down from that actually make it lower sensibly
I had this issue with the call volume being too loud even when turned down, and sometimes it would distort/crackle with certain words/letters. I used the following registry tweak and it's worked absolutely perfectly for me. I've used it on the old ROM and the latest.
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\inCall AND InCall2
Change the value of InitVol to "2" in both inCall and inCall2
See if that helps

I've done that too but that volume is for incall notifications only. You can verify that by having someone call you while you're engaged in a call. You will barely hear them if you turn the volume to "2".
thank for trying though!

I think the members want you to be more specific. Identify what ROM & radio you are using and what you have done so far to resolve the problem.
tried 'em all

I've tried all official roms!!! Also tried a lot of the cocked ones with pretty much same result, very little difference whatsoever!

Two quick questions related to sound

Hi friends.
Two quick questions:
1. How can I decrease the volume when I receive phone calls? Yesterday I was on the phone, volume ALL DOWN yet people could hear what the other party was saying.
2. Every now and then when someone calls me, I either don't hear anything and he has to call back or else the conversation is a pain as sound keeps on cutting.
Are there any fixes for these?
Cheers.
1) known problem, no solution. The problem is HD2 thinks the volume is lower then it is, and that is why it won't let you lower the volume anymore. If you turn the volume all way up first, you will be able to lower it.
2) never happened to me.
Thanks mate, hopefully someone can help with #2.
I fixed #2.
Basically 3G reception is a pain in my area so I set the phone to always use GPRS and everything is now working like a charm.

In Call Volume Too Loud -Even With Volume at Min!!

Please, please help guys.
My HD2 is ear-piercingly loud during a call even when i turn the volume down to a min.
I have searched the forum but cant find a definitive answer to lower the volume even further....there must be a work-around!
When i am at work, nearly the whole office can hear the other person talking to me, it's quite embarrassing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Its a known bug, several people have contacted HTC about this.
They have said they are going to release a hotfix for it, quite as to when and if they even are is another thing.
oh ok then.
i take it, there will be info posted on this forum when/if something has been released?
If you are talking about the same problem I have, there is a temporary solution.
What I find is that when I am dialling, the volume is terribly loud. However if I press the volume up one notch, then down - it goes to the correct volume.
Seems there is a default minimum that overrides the user defined level, but once you alter the user defined level, it takes notice.
Odd, but works for me.
I have never had this issue, but I use Volumex (http://volumex.jdbp.mobi). Gives me a better control of it. Give it a try

low in call volume

OK, everybody is claiming that low in call volume is fixed after 3/8 kernel, but try this: dial a number by keypad (with dial pad tones enabled) and make a call. listen to the volume level. Then disable dial pad tones and call again. there should be a huge difference in volume level. You can experiment the same thing by quickly enabling and disabling speakerphone while in a call. I guess the problem is, when a sound is played back (like a ringtone or dialpad tone) in call volume is reduced for a short time. This can be eliminated for outgoing calls by disabling dial pad tone or waiting 2 seconds before pressing call. But for incoming calls, even disabling ringtone is no good. I also tried LVH v3.6 to boost the in call volume but no good. I tried almost all builds, ROM and radio combinations. With the new kernels, all have this problem. The most important function for me is the phone part, anyone has a solution for this?
Did you really need to make a new thread for this? Couldn't this been posted in one of the -post your questions here- topic?
Fix: No, there's no obvious fix (yet). Best fix is to use the supplied (or custom) ear-piece. Never any problem with that.
I felt the need to make a new thread as the old threads were referring to old kernels and most people tend to read only the first post. I wanted to present my observations, which I believe are not stated before, in the original post. Sorry for bothering you and thanks for the info.

I understand why you'd want to open a new thread for this, but this topic will just as much go down under as soon as it's solved or (more not-so-useless) threads get added later on.
Your observations + results could be stickied/hotlinked in the answer topic if they seem to be right-on the money. That way we keep it all nice and tidy, ánd more people would find a quick answer
I have the same exact problem. I hope there is a fix for this soon. Searched multiple times, but haven't found any answer.
I notice when you pick up an incoming call. The volume starts from soft and goes a little louder after about 2-3 seconds.
hi im also suffering from a low in call volume as well with my HD2 has there been any way to resolve this?
iam facing low rington and media volume , i can hardly hear my ringtone when on other room
I disagree with maseo I found this thread useful,
THANKS DUDE
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
hey, try this
when u wait for the other side to pick up the phone or u pressed the answer button when a call comes in
press on the Speaker button to use the speaker phone, then turn it off
repeat it again once
your volume will get lounder just like in WM.
Edit: oops. it was just a hardware failure, the front speaker had bad connection, there are another speaker in the chassis that worked.
thanks
i press the speaker on & off and then is more louder. i wish this will be fix soon.
IT WORKS!!
Hey, so I was/am having this problem but i tried the mute/unmute during a call and it worked. Incoming and outgoing. Only problem is seems to be low every new phone call. So i have to do the mute/unmute at the beginning of each call for it to be ok!
Hopefully there is a permanent fix soon?
Thanks for the post.
I have this same problem. I read somewhere someone having a fix on this.
One more thing, any of you guys had the robo-voice?
Got the same issue. Still no fix out there?
