Unlock WM 2003 SE for Qtek 1010

Greets.
I have copied the ROM of a 1010 from a buddy that is protected with a key - presumably the key is cooked into the ROM using a unique device identifier. I've used Jeff's toolset to copy the ROM and create an SD image which i then loaded onto my Qtek.
The thing hangs on the boot screen now and won't go any further.
Any suggestions as to how to get around this?

This may be a problem of the Romspace used for this ROM. It uses also a "free region" that was used before for the permanent save.
The unique device identifier is also a problem. Until now i do not know how this key is build and where it have been integrated in the ROM......
As much as i know it's just udeless this ROM...

1. Download new ROM from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ROMVersions or http://www.romkitchen.de
2. Make a hard reset of your device
3. Reconnect your device via ActiveXync (You can use guest partnership)
4. Run the downloaded exe file an follow the instructions.

Additional question
Sorry if my question is stupid but I recently bought a T-Mobile XDA and it was sim locked. I unlocked it using the xda-developers special rom and now I'm looking for update to WM2003SE (if possible). I followed the link that Stefan posted and found a lot of rom updates there. Only I don't know if I use one of these will my phone lock again. Also, what does the "Opearator" column mean? My operator is not listed and I would like my new software to be universal - not dependent on any operator......
Upgrading ROM or Radio Version will not change the stat, that the device is unlocked.....
Operator Conig is the Config-Files from the operator. So if your operator is not listed, you could use a device without operator config.
The operator config is mostly used for the autoconfiguration of the device (GPRS, WAP, ...)
Stefan
Thank you
Thank you very much, Stefan. I will try it tonight. I think I can always switch it back to the xda-developers version if I don't like the 2003..... Can I? Also, what should I install in order to make my Wallaby ring using mp3 files? Thanks again.

Hi
Thanks for your reply, is it as simple as downloading a rom ?
and is it safe to do so ?
I would rather leave it as it is if so
Thanks
Steve
I have just upgraded to wm2003se to get tomtom to work & it was very easy to do, just go to the above site & follow the instructions & "cook" your rom, once it was done, sit the xda in its cradle & run the exe file

Updating the pocket pc 2002 to pocket pc 2003

Hi!
I am new guy here,
and whant to upgrade my O2 XDA to Windows Mopbile 2003 (2003SE).
My phone is runing now XDA rom version 3.17.03
Can you give me advise how to perform safe upgrade
of my originally nonlocked O2?
I have read that some people perfomed upgrade
without errors, but some have trouble to back to 2002 after,
or frozen after boot WM2003.
Its not clear for me and I think for some others here, why
on the same device, different results expected.
merci

Hi,
I have an O2 XDA 1 and I am looking to do a few upgrades but I’m not sure where to start, can someone please answer a few questions for me:
1) Which is the best firmware to use on my UK O2 XDA 1 (Windows Mobile 2003) + can someone please send me a link to download it ?
2) I also need the file to unlock the device so I can use it with my vodafone SIM.
Many thanks

Many thanks for the reply Stefan, Is WM2003 SE the one i need + do I need to select any other options before downloading the Rom ?
James
I would choose WM2003 final 4.01.12 ROM.....
Stefan
Hi Stefan, i have a few more questions just to make sure I know what I am doing.
1) Which Rom do i install first is it the Special ROM or WM2003 Final.
2) When it comes to the upgrade i take it i just connect the device using Activesync via my USB cable and then run the start.bat ?
Thanks for all the help.
James
First the Special-Edition ROM for unlocking, then the WM2003....
Yes, just connect your device via Activesync and run the Exe-File......
Stefan
