Haptic feedback possible? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I was thinking about why i've always felt it a bit strange pressing touchscreen buttons when i realized that it was because i'm used to tactile feedback, which is non-existent on touchscreens, of course.
Would it be possible to add a slight haptic vibration to each button press. It would make my ppc feel more solid and well built.
I guess the problem would be differentiating from pressing a button and using touchscreen based input methods.
Any ideas?

I already thought about that, too.
But I guess it's no problem to tell between real keypresses and touchscreen actions in a software like PocketCM keyboard. Maybe the author can implement a 0,05sec vibration on each button-down event?

agree. This seems to be no problem on first sight.
on http://www.opennetcf.com there even is a Vibrate class that has methods to start and Stop vibration.
so, should be easy to implement.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I have seen vibrating dialpad hacks. Maybe it's a start:

okey dokey, now we just have to find someone with the know how to implement haptic feedback on ALL button presses, not just dialpad

Vibration feedback on X1?

Anyone know if the X1 has vibration feedback (in particular, for the dial pad, when making a call)? Omnia has, but Touch Pro doesn't.
vibration feedback? What exactly are you talking about. Like does it vibrate when you are getting a call?
As in the phone vibrates on each number you press when you're making a call.
Doubt it. Why would you want it to do that?
It kinda helps to 'feel' that you've dialled a number since it ain't a physical keypad.
I know what you mean, I have it on my LG Viewty.
Its a kind of simulated tactile feedback for a touch screen as (obviously) touch screens have no physical buttons .
I m pretty certain that the Diamond has a hidden registery setting that enables "vibrating" feedback.
If thats the case then maybe its possible to enable for xperia.
Someone should do a search in the Diamond section.
Well, someone built an app for this. If there's a registry setting for this then people wouldn't have to use it already.
otherwise it would not be too much work to make an app which detected "keypresses" and vibrated when they happent but vibrations cost battery power

Buttons not vibrating

I seem to have lost the vibration feature on my buttons. All tabs are checked. Not recovered even after a hard reset. Probably a pre-hard reset app I'd loaded affected this.
Does anyone know of a reg tweak or another fix?
Thanks for the help

Does your phone vibrates when called?
Hi - thanks for taking an interest. The problem seems to have corrected itself.
I had to re-load .net CF 3.5. Don't know if that had an effect but after the hard reset and a couple of soft resets the buttons vibrate again.
Thanks again

Sky740, did you experience this problem again? I have not installed any other ROMs but noticed it after I installed some other software, including hd tweak, advanced config, mobilmagic button stuff and .net framework 3.5. Did you use any of these items/think they anything to do with it? I hope my problem goes away with my first Upgraded ROM. I saw another thread with the same problem, he was about to send back for warranty, but maybe I talked him out of it. Any information helps,
Thanks!
HI Guys,
Did you manage to figure out what is causing this? I have just got my HD and have the same problem...the 'haptic' vibration from the buttons doesn't seem to work. it has been like this from out of the box and i have not added any additional progs (only got it unlocked from Orange!!). the vibration works for incoming calls so it doesn't seem to be an issue with the hardware.
Any advice would be appreciated!!

well
well, haptic feedback you mean, any button you press, on touchscreen and all? The only buttons that are suppose to have feedback without touch response application installed is the home, back, phone answer and hangup buttons at the bottom. There is a setting for those vibrate items. Try settings, personal, buttons, virtual button, see the vibration check mark? Does the Teeter game have vibration feedback on yours? If these things make a difference for you, you probably don't have a hardware issue, but if your getting any vibrate, should just be settings. Some of us on here are having major vibration hardware dysfunctions, just awful
Thanks for the response!!
Sorry to hear 'bout the major vib issues
I have tried all the 'virtual buttons' settings and the touch flo settings but i dont get any response from any buttons. i tried TEETER but there's no response from that either, but again i get vibration when I'm called.
Just thought someone may have noticed a 'glitch' somewhere, cause i initially noticed that if you apply a phonelock pin on set-up, it disables the use of the end-key to lock the phone..and i thought it may have been a software glitch or something....
New to the phone and win mob so soz if these are noob q's

Vibrations...

Hello you all
i got my trophy today and i was wondering if there is any option to disable the vibration for the "physicale" keys.. or i better say.. for the 3 touch keys (back, home, search) if its possible to disable it please tell me how, thats the only ugly thing if noticed ^^
thanks for help!
I haven't heard of a way to disable the vibrations yet, but there might be a tweak sooner or later. You can turn off vibrations completely if you want though.
I don't know. I know you can disable the search button from doing anything, but the button still causes the motor inside to activate.
Actually I've just stumbled upon a solution. It looks like it works, but I haven't tried it.
Disable haptic feedback

Buggy touch feedback sound when tapping on recent or back buttons

I prefer using the touch feedback sound when tapping on my screen. Now, the only thing that drives me a bit crazy is that whenever I touch the back button or the recent app button, I hear some kind of double popping sound instead of one clear pop. Funnily, it only happens on these two buttons, no where else. Tapping something on the screen is no problem. Even tapping the home button sounds normal.
By the way, I'm using the European model with the latest Nougat firmware.
I want to know if this problem is just on my device or if other people also hear this? Is there a quick fix maybe? Did it happen before in older firmwares? (I recently got this phone and I updated it straight to the latest version...)

I always use my device on vibrator and found out that the vibrator will vibrate twice sometimes when touching the buttons. What the hecc
This would mean that the actual problem is the detection of touches. I'd love to be a dev just to see how they implemented things like that one
ZTE made a lot of these hard coded stuff here and there... notif led, vibrator strength...

So I guess it's not an isolated problem ?
