Monitor out for 8525 (Hermes, TyTn) - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Is there a way to connect my 8525 to an external monitor? My bluetooth keyboard and mouse work great -- now if I could connect an external monitor, this can become one hell of a tool!

This sounds cool, not sure what I'd use it for at this moment but still a good idea.

Does anyone know if there is a cable that can do this for the 8525?

not the anwser you are looking for
I know this is not what you want. The link below is to software that will allow you to view your phones screen on your computers monitor, and control it with your computer mouse and keyboard.
My Mobiler v1.0
Maybe it will be the answer for some people.

Definitely not what the OP was asking for, but damn cool just the same.
Thanks for that link. I'm not sure I even wanted, let alone needed that app, but I'm certainly going to use it now.

anyone know is this exists
I have been searching for something like this as well. If anyone knows of a cable for monitor out or if it is even possible I would appreciate knowing as well thanks.

Well, you havn't tried SOTI POCKET CONTROLLER yet. That one is commercial but has even lots of other stuff integrated, such as screen capture, screen recording and a DOS prompt box ...
http://www.soti.net

There used to be...
There used to be a manufacturer making SD cards with TV-out for making presentations from a ppc. Not seen one for a while! If I remember correctly you used to be able to get them from expansys...
Happy hunting!

what is it like then?

As some of you have had the exec delivered whats your verdict?
I have the 11s and i am considering upgrading.
The 11s is about as bulkly as i would want to go and i know the exec is slightly larger and heavier but until you have it in your hand you cant really tell.
The 11s has a anoyingly quit ring tones and the vibrate is not much better.
So please post your thiughts.

oops
meant this for the existing thread sorry
Why don't you delete it then?
Btw..
Roman numerals uses the letter "I", not the number "1"..
It's "IIs" not "11s"..
how
dont know how to delete it
if i did i would have
remember we all start somewhere thats how the whole thing works if it was only for smart asses then it would not be required

I just upgraded to an XDA Exec from a IIs and I love it. Sure it is buliker than the IIs, which was big enoguh with a decent case, but the extra things you can do with it more than make up for it. The VGA screen is crystal clear, the stereo speakers and proper headphne socket, video calling, 3g internet browsing, proper keyboard... There are quite a few people here who think it is a disappointment, and yes, there are a few bugs and niggles, but overall I am really pleased with mine.

PuTTy is an SSH Client used to connect to Unix/Linux based servers running an SSH Server. Pocket PuTTy is Putty for your pocket pc . I use it all the time.

100% agree. In a few years many companies will build devices like this.
Why did we have to wait so long for WMdevices with a keyboard?

Looking for a Mouse App

Does anyone know of an app (like nueUSBkeyboard) that would make the Rhodium work as a mouse? Is it possible to use the camera to do this?
Thanks,
Drunk
you can try g-remote. i think it's perfect
http://gbmsoftware.com/
it's not freeware though
That is handy and I appreciate the link, but I like the ability the keyboard app has that I can just plug it in without software on the PC side.
Any others?
[EDIT] I should say "any additional software."
Gonna "bump" this because I'm still having no luck...

there is no word about be able to do webcamera on a windows pc with the phone... sorry orb live wont do it
i would like to use the nexus one as a webcamera for my laptop and viewing webcams on the n1...
I've done it with orb... no problem.
Make sure you set up their latest edition and use it through the web browser. Their app sucks... through the browser its free
I can see how you can use a PC Webcam and bring it to the N1 using this software, but I really don't see how to do the opposite.
How do I use the N1 as the webcam that's viewable on a PC?
qik anybody?

google it. i know there is a dev out there who has a working on on 1.6. He hasent done 2.1 yet because he does not have a N1 to test with. currently i do not believe their is an app or way to do this yet

I have "googled it". What search terms would you suggest to get some relavent results? When I do searches I typically end up with two hits that at first seem like they might be useful. The first goes to google's forum and is worthless... the next one links to this very thread.
Two different people here have said they've done it with orb... it's pretty reasonable to ask them how they did it since doing searches on orb's site don't give anything fruitful.

Why do you keep posting off topic?
Let's start over and read the question being asked and see if there's a solution.
We all know that Orb will let you stream a webcam that's connected TO YOUR PC to your phone.
That is NOT what we're trying to accomplish.
We'd like to be able to (as the thread states) "N1 using as a webcam" Use the N1's built in camera to stream live video to another place.
I would like to be able to set the phone down, aim it's camera at something and then have someone else... PC across the planet... whatever... be able to see what the phone is aimed at.
Does anyone know how to do that?

Now that's what I'm talkin about. Good find. Will try out and report back.
*edit* This must have been removed from the market. I even went to the publisher's page on the phone and clicked the market link they have there and it takes you to a "no matches" page... boo...
do you still have the 0.4 apk?

I do. I'll rip it when I get home if I remember, but you'll also need a software client on the PC side which I do not have.
Looks like it's still here though: http://www.placaware.com/?page_id=6

Yea, that's the point I'm at... I wonder why they took it down.
The only issue I'm seeing is that they say it only gets 3fps... that ... kinda sucks.
*edit* and thanks for grabbin the apk off your phone later.. I appreciate it.
Another issue I'm having, and maybe it's just because I don't have it attached to a computer yet, but everything is rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise on my n1 and a portion of the bottom mirrors the image.

[REQ]Auto enable bluetooth on usb connect

On my Touch Pro I always used KixAss Bluepower, which is a small tool that activates bluetooth when the device is connected to a USB port. This would enable me to just put in the phone in the usb cradle in my car, switch on the radio and I'd have a connection immediately. As soon as I leave the car, thus disconnecting the phone from the cradle, bluetooth disables automatically.
Now the problem is, this tool doesn't seem to work on my HD2.. Does anyone know a similiar tool?
I use the same program on my TD2 and it works well. You can try two things instead:
G-profile or see the mortscript thread.
Bluepower is the best though. G-profile can be a bit buggy IMHO.

Thanks for the reply. I am also really wondering why bluepower wont work on my HD2. I'll check out G-Profile, though I think it's a bit too "heavy" (as in; way too many options) for the goal im trying to get to here.

I agree about G-Profile being perhaps too heavy. I would try Mortscript if I were you. That is very light and would definitely do the trick. It would take less processing power/battery to run than even Bluepower too.

For what I've understood from Mortscript it's basically a a scriptiong language, similar to .NET, correct? I am not that good with scripting, are there any examples I can take learnings from?

I am a bit of a beginner too, but if you google "bluetooth mortscript" or use the search function, this will give you some ideas.

Idea for a cool Winmo App: Trackpad

Hey guys,
I don't know if this has been tried or thought of. My mouse just died, and am waiting for it to charge, and I thought, hmm, it would be great if I could use my HD2 touch screen as a giant trackpad for my PC. The idea would be that you connect your HD2 to the computer via bluetooth or usb, and then launch this trackpad app which would really just give you a screen like what I have attached and then you have a trackpad! I know the app will be pretty useless for most cases, but it could be a cool replacement for some people.
Just a thought...

Awesome! Thanks for the info
No problem, Gremote , there is a older free version, works over wifi, and bluetooth, very nice fun to play with ...
It really does work nice ...
Be sure to google it and find the home page, there are some cabs floating around but they only have the phone part not the part that needs to run on the PC ...
wifii?? are u sure?,................i thought it only works by bluetooth
