Support for BH800 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Anyone know why the Cingular 8525 doesn't currently support the Nokia BH800 bluetooth headset, and when there may be a software update that will fix this?
Is this a problem with all versions of this phone, or just the Cingular one?

i also have the Nokia BH800 (cute headset) and it doesnt wrk properly with my jasjam. The mic is really low, sound is really low, doesnt support handsfree profile (only headset). It is quite strange because on my wife's nokia n73 it works like a charm with all the profiles and redirects all sound to it, even with tomtom nav 6 on her mobile.
Dont know how to help you as I am in the same boat. anyone else have the BH800?

I have the BH800- works absolutely fine with my TyTn using the latest firmware (on the Tytn, not the headset!).

Do we know that the Cingular 8525 will not work with the BH-800 by experience or by heresay??
I had the TyTn for a brief period of time, trialed the JasJam, and now have the 8525 -- thus far the 8525 has proved to have the most stable firmware, better radio, etc. so I can't imagine the Bluetooth being behind.

I just received my 8525 from premiere and it came with a small flyer that reads
The Nokia BH800 and Motorola H670 bluetooth headsets are not compatible with the Cingular 8525 and Cingular 8500 at this time. Compatibility with these headsets will be available via software download in the near future.

help!!
I see that im not the only one having problem with the Nokia BH800, im happly using the Black v3.0.1 rom on my hermes (softbank) but i cant seems to make the BH800 to work handsfree, did any one have a solution for that??
thanks

Advice needed: Moving from XDA II to JAM

As I'm giving up from getting my Xda II up to the task of BT Syncing AND BT handsfree, I ordered an i-mate Jam from Expansys.
As my order is on backlog due to lack of stock (more than 3 weeks now) I'm having time to wonder about my "incoming" new toy.
So I have a few questions for the more "JAM" experience users:
:?:
1.- Is BT operational with HandsFree devices? I mean carkits and the like.
2.- Is the BT stack having problems to ActiveSync with Win XP SP2?
3.- Any rumours about the new 2005 version? When will I-mate ship it?
4.- Are the most recent units coming with the flaws fixed? I read about bad sound, blurry pictures, a patched radio protocol, etc.
5.- Is any application known by not running on the JAM?
Thanks for commenting, I'll post my findings when my unit arrives.
BTW does anyone need a perfectly working XDAII?
No help?
Ok, Should I admit there are not any problems around? Is anyone out there moved from XDA-II willing to help?
Thanks.
 :?:
Great Move.
I changed my XDAII for a Jam and I'm extremely happy
No sound issues also bluetooth headset Motorola 810 connects fine. Camera is not too good but I guess thats the only flaw.

Hi zedeff! Thanks for info!
Just wondering: Is anyone using a BT carkit? Since this is a common problem with XDA II, I'm a bit worried about.
 :?:
considering a switch
i'm quite happy with my xdaII except that i find it bulky.. i'm seriously thinking of getting the xdaII mini (aka magician). any comments? bad reviews? suggestions?
btw, i'm looking for a fair market where i can sell my xdaII here in manila in case i do decide to buy the mini. any ideas?
Me too!
I'm also considering moving from the XDA2. My XDA2 has been great although not without one or two issues (getting BT working with a GPS receiver - not for the newbies!). I was considering the XDA2s and XDA2i but have read about issues with both. Now the XDA2 mini looks fantastic as I often wish I had a smaller phone without sacrificing the features. Has anyone else taken the plunge?

MDA compact II (uk?) Bluetooth Headphones

Has anyone one on here got one of these?
I've gone full circle from the jam->Wizard->Universal and then got myself a simple phone that i've had the last few months due to work. Now, out of all three of those phones, the jam for me had the best form factor and feel out of them all, wizard was too fat and plasticy.
Anyway, just seen on t-mobile uk site the compact II, my main questions is, does anyone know if any bluetooth headphones will work for this for music? not sure of the BT stack etc etc on this device (HTC charmer?). So if anyones got the same device with Bluetooth headphones working let me know!!
Also if anyone has them working *well* on the jam let me know! What mode of headphones etc etc
thanks all
I'm not sure about this because a friend has one and it has the original WM5 release on it (i.e. not AKU2) and that's known not to support A2DP (the BT profile for stereo headphones) but what I don't know is if T-Mobile have now started shipping the Compct II with AKU2.
Maybe someone knows different, please tell.
For an explanation of what AKU2 is, look in the Wizard and Prophet forums.
cheers, failing that not sure wich device to go for....need it to work with some BT headphones!!
i've red this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33532&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=675
but want it working perfectly![/url]
what's your m600 like paul? I presume this will have A2DP etc? reason i ask is t-mobile are doing the compact 2 for free with co pilot nav and gps receiver + unlimited data usage for £27.50 a month, so i'm very tempted, only problem being i don't know if it will work with BT headphones! Failing this i might go for the exec (again) as i'm sure that'll work!! Just the deal is so good it's almost rude to say no!
I've got the mdac2 and think it's great. I've updated it with the T-mobile AKU2 update which works fine, giving push email.
I haven't tried any BT headphones but have read that once you have the AKU2 update there is a way of enabling A2DP by adding drivers or something like that. I think it was regarding the Wizard but much of the Wizard system is the same as the Charmer.
if anyone can confirm that there is a cab.file or something like that with a2dp on then i'll be going for this i think then!! is your aku2 rom a tmobile one?
yes. it's from the official t-mobile download site. was made available in June.
great cheers, they may be shipping with this rom now so best check. Now all i need to find out is if the a2dp file that people use on the wizard will work on this!

The M600 is great and yes, it has AKU2. I have not tried BT headphones but if you look in the prophet forum there will be people there who have.
The T-Mobile deal is a good one - that's the deal my co-worker has taken and he's really happy with it.

Yes it does support a2dp and the cab file is available somewhere on this forum you will have to do a search, sorry im not a regular so it will be difficult for me to find anything however I have a mda compact ii and the a2dp works! Should go for the offer, i also have the co-pilot 6 which youve mentioned and its a great deal.
All the best

wanna Buy new TYTN, some questions before buy..

Hi,
Right now I have the HP iPAQ 6828, which runs great... Recently I'm starting thinking about upgrading it to the HTC TYTN..
1) The device I've tested was HTC TYTN s/n HT630 , Hermes200, Is this model has the problem of screen alignment I heard about? any other problems?
2) Is it really faster than the iPAQ 6828 becuase of its Samsung proccessor? like the ETEN M600??
3) Is it stable like HP iPAQ ??
4) How about voice calling, is it loud & clear? ( As I was an ex. user of ETEN M600, it's so important for me)
anything else I should know about this device before buying or exchanging with iPAQ 6828?
What about ROMS, what's the newst ROM out there?
Thanks in advance
I will not be able to help you on your other questions but for Q1 regarding screen alignment ht630 does have screen alignment problems. You can see a thread elsewhere on this forum for more information. You will see a lot of people with ht630 and complaining about screen alignment.
Personally I think that ht641 and above will be safe as yet I have to see a post for these serial numbers complaining of screen alignment

2) I still have my M600 and I just got a 8525. I think the 8525 is just as fast as the M600. Maybe a little faster. It seems to me like the 8525 loads web pages faster over wifi and edge. I know I am getting faster edge bandwith on the 8525. Switching from one app to the next seems to be the same. The stabilty of WinMo 5 seems to be the same.
3) YES! the volume is alot loader than the M600. I installed all of the volume patches on my M600 and it still can't compair to the volume level of the 8525 The speakerphone on this thing is Very Loud!
The only issue I have right now is my a2dp Plantronics 590A wont stay connected to the 8525. I can pair it and listen to music or video but if I turn off the headphones and turn them back on I can't regain connection to the phones stereo output.

Cracking sound with Bluetooth headset

I got my S200 back from a repair and it was also upgraded form G3 to G4.
Everything seems to work fine, except my Jabra BT500 head set. After pairing with my S200 I got a very cracking sound.
So I checked my Jabra with another mobile phone and it worked very well. I checked another head set with my S200 and again a cracking sound.
Does anybody knows how to solve this or do I have to return my S200 again for repair?
Hi, I have excatly the same problem, it also occurs with the bluetoothof my car...anyone can help us?
I have returned my S200 to QTEK today in order to have it repaired (again).
I have tested it (in my car) with 2 other Bluetooth headsets and there was no problem. There was also no problem when I tested my own headset on another phone. So this proves that my S200 has some kind of defect.
The sound is very crappy ?
Or is the soud quite ok, but experiencing high frequency glitches, kind of metallic parasits?
Because in that case, there is nothing to do, It's due to the MS bleutooth stack which has a very poor encoding librairy... and since there is no widcomm stack for S200 (and some other qtek too, a lot of people is yet trying to malke it work), then evey bleutooth headset will have bad sound in A2DP with the S200 :'(
One of the main reasons why I want to change for a widcomm stacked pocketPC (shame on MS!!!!!!!!!!)
For me, the quality is very bad. At the beginig I use it only on my car and it was working perfectly, since I try to connect to the bluetooth headset or to my computer the sounds became very very crappy. I have Dopo ROM, which rom do you have? what ROM do you advise? Thank you
I have tried the LVSW, Jester and shipped ROMS and all these ROMS have the same problem. So I think that it is not related to the ROM but due to bad hardware components.
it's strange because it was working for me before I use other bluetooth device. I will try to upgrade the rom to the official QTEK ROM
I have the same problem. As if the bluetooth signal were cut per moment.
it's not linked to roms, but to bluetooth stack, so since the bt stack is updated (but I doubt it), changing roms won't help
I could fix it, I update the ROM, delete all pairaing on my cars... I change the "hsotname" of my QTEK on "settings - Owner information" I recreate the pair and it works fine on my car, now crappy sound anymore. Just to test it again, I try to pair my "fujitsu laptop" to my qtek, since I did it, the sound is again very crappy. So I will flash again and pair it only with my car. If I return it to Qtek it takes 1 months... If someone can fix this that would be great.

TyTN +BT-handsfree, Nokia BH801

Hi, I have a question if anyone here has tried to get the TyTN and Nokia´s new BT-handsfree BH801 to work?
TyTN finds and connects to the BH801, but they dont seem to work.
It all seems to work correct, activationcode is filled in, use as hansfree is activated.
Anyone got a solution??
Thanx!
By the way, NOKIA support says that the BH-801 only supports;
Bluetooth 2.0, 1.2 and 1.1 specification,
Handsfree 1.5 (HFP) and headset 1.1 (HSP) profiles.

I could not give you an answer to your problem, but can only let you that the Nokia HS-12W works great on the new AKU 3.3 ROM's. I have the WWE version on my TyTN and the only change I had to make was to activate the stereo setting in the A2DP registry.
Previously I had great deal of problems getting the same headset to work on the SA ROM 1.35. Bitpool changes in the registry as well as Sleuths A2DP fix were necessary.
By the way I have also had amazing results with the HTC BH S100 Bluetooth stereo headset. The great thing about this device is that it allows the user the option to use their own favourite 3.5mm headset.

Hi, and thanks for your reply.
It´s seems a bit tricky to get it working, fiddeling in the program isnt something as I would prefer getting in to, as I´m a noob!
But can anyone see if the profiles that NOKIA demands is supported in TyTN?
And if so, how can I get there??
By the way, I have a swedish TyTN with following setup;
ROM-version: 1.18.263.2
ROM-datum: 07/22/06
Radioversion: 1.07.01.10
Protokollversion: 32.40.7010.02H
ExtROM-version: 1.18.263.104
Thanks!
