Any Chinese / Japanese users using XDA II with WM 5.0? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I am a Chinese language user.
After I upgrade my XDA II to 1.50f / 1.50g ROM.
I found that the old version WINCE.nls doesn't work on WM 5.0.
Now, I just put the Chinese fonts under Windows directory, and change the system default fonts be a chinese, that I can read Chinese in WM 5.0 now.
But some program like, iSilo, IRC can't view Chinese as well. I know that is WINCE.nls problem. I also try put the 2003se Chinese WINCE.nls to 5.0, its doesn't work.
Does anyone fix this problem now?

Where the heck you get the Window Mobile 6 for Atom Exec ?????
Drop it back to WM5, O2 itself has a .CAB for Chinese support. Just install that everything will do fine. However, that Chinese support does not work well in WM6. CE-Star works in WM6 but Windows Live will not work. It means WM6 is different to WM5 and it will take some time before all bugs to be worked out.
I dloaded from O2 website....so if I reinstall wm5 where do I get the Chinese Cab from ?
You Can get Chinese character support (reading only) by using the following:
Download CE Star and unpack it with rar program.
Copy sunglobe.ttf to windows folder in your PPC.
Add in the following registry:
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\
add a new key call FontLink
Under the Fontlink Key add another key call SystemLink
Now add the following 4 "String" values to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink
[Name of string] [String text]
Times New Roman \Windows\sunglobe.ttf,UniSun
Arial \Windows\sunglobe.ttf,UniSun
Courier New \Windows\sunglobe.ttf,UniSun
Tahoma \Windows\sunglobe.ttf,UniSun

Traditional Chinese display on Xperia x2
Hi there, I have just successfully changed my default language to Traditional Chinese on X2. It turns out that you do not need to download a taiwan version of the rom by yourself. Like you, I have tried every cab file or ce star suite and none of them works on the MR2 update.
However, there is one thing that works.
I have discovered that you need to first of all obtain the file posted in this thread for TW:"[100% Working] Changing the default language of Xperia X2 - takes you 5 minutes."
Then uninstall the update service on your PC completely and download a new one from the sony ericsson Taiwan website.
After installing the newly downloaded update service, just follow the steps posted in the first thread and you should get the update service downloading an update file which is of the size of 134mb, bigger than the English version of 128MB for MR2 update.
This works even if you have already updated to the English version of MR2 as I did.
Hope it helps. It worked on mine and it should work on yours as well.

guys... I just upgraded to the mr2 and had the problem when I installed CE star. that is when i found out that Ce star is not compatible with mr2. One clarification request on this post, when you get the upgrade software from the sony ericcson taiwan website and get chinese language support with the update....does it give you option of keeping english as the default language?. I am looking for chinese language support so that the chinese messages to me dont appear as blocks.
Does this taiwan s/w default language chinese change the whole phone language to chinese? Or it only support chinese display and the menu still in english?????
it will install a chinese Version of WM6.5.3 to your phone, so most of the things will be in Chinese, and most software will read your phone as chinese phone and switch to Chinese by default, it is a bit annoying, but that is the best we can do with X2 now... It is sad that HK has dropped X2 from its product lineup because usually HK would offer a rom that is ENG based while supporting Chinese read/input... If you opt to install SPB after stripping your phone then you can still change the default language in SPB and that will show most of stuff in English, by still all marketplace, google map, will still show everything in Chinese...
have a look on the cabs i made, maybe they will meet your needs:

Get Sunglobe Simplified Chinese Fonts for reading Simplified Chinese text and PlumSip for Chinese text input. It worked for X2 with MR2. Hope this helps.

[Q] language

my htc touch hd is window mobile 6.1 i can't set up with chinese
in regional settings ,it have much language but i can't find any about chinese
have anyone can tell me what i can do to change my phone language ?
in general, windows mobile roms only one language, which is indicated by the rom name itself. WWE is world wide english. you should check sites like shipped-roms.com for roms in CHS (chinese simplified) or CHT (chinese traditional).
Did I need to confirm my phone name
and after download the rom DID i open in my phone
