T-Mobile Czech - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I report:
ROM v3.14.02
Radio T310 (4.14 now, though )
add it to yout database, Ihaven't seen it there
the Language extender you mention is a userland program similiar tu PiLoc, not a part of ROM
can somebody recommend me an update for this? my radio rom is from O2 now, I plan flashing whole O2 Ireland image in it as I haven't found a more recent 900/1800 ENG version. is it ok?

Why do you wan to flash installed version of T-Mobile Czech?
Have you done localization into Czech language? I had a trouble after doing that, no task reminder was shown on TODAY's screen. Did it happend to you as well?
I had to change to original English version to have it in operation.

I have flashed the GSM Radio part only, the OS remains intact.
I don't care about localisation as it generally sux
The version I have has one important feature miissing - the GPRS Always On function...
Where did you take the ROM from? I haven't found a more recent ENG version which would flash into this one ;(

I report:
T-Mobile Czech works with O2 Ireland OS+GSM version for XDA it just needs some handy work with hexadecimal editor convincing updater to do it

new xda2 user
ahoj, im new XDA2 user, do you have some usefull programs for change ? (auto on/off radio) etc ? bye Tom

German O2 RUU 3.19.01

Hi,
There is a new rom out.
For german O2 customers is the new rom available on the www.o2online.de
site.
Unfortunately it does not have the wmodem app and the other 3.17.03 extra stuff.
On the first view I did not see any changes to the 3.14.16 ger version before.
Does somebody know what the changes are?
regards,
silver
have not installed it yet.
but did look at the contents:
- 'hz.exe' = homezone. tool that has something to do with monitoring your cell id
- rilgsm.dll now has 'at+creg=2' string in it. probably the RIL_GetCellTowerInfo call is now implemented
Yes, The home zone was always included. but it causes a problem with all rom versions of O2 germany that were available.
I thought the new version does not have this problem but it is still no solved.

Silver

ROM 4.00.01 and DualBandGSM ?

I have just ugraded my Qtek ROM to vers. 4.00.01 (pocketPC2003) and the RSU4.21.
BUT since then I cannot see my mobile carrier anymore Orange CH (switzerland), but all the others...
Could that come from the new soft not supporting dualbandGSM 1800 ?? or naything else.
Thanks for you help !!!!
PS CAN I DOWNGRADE MY ROM TO 3.17 FROM THE O2 web site??
i believe that the current 4.00.01 is with the US radiostack
leaving your phone at 900/1900 and not 900/1800 which is the EU std
European XDA/MDA with Radio Update
Same here in Germany. First I upgraded my TMO (Germany) MDA to ROM 4.00.10 without the radio upgrade. It worked (and still works ) very well with the old (by only supported :? ) radio V3.23.00 protocol 32S54. The only thing I noticed is: the carrier (T-Mobile Germany) is not displayed (in the Today screen) and the connection bar graph is changing very often from "good" to "worse".
After this success I upgraded also the radio unit, but I better have not done that! No (neither 900 or 1800) carrier is detected by the phone anymore I tried a lot in the bootloader but nothing helped me
So I downgraded the radio to 3.23.00 with the RSU utility which is downloadable from TMO Germany. And everything is okay again

Radio Stack 3.17 FR
Seems the same problem... but luky you are, as I don't have the older RSU available...
Does anybody know where I could find the RSU 3.16 or 3.17 FR ??
Thanks in advance,
I don't know if it works but why aren't you flashing the RSU with the one from the english o2.co.uk site ore the german one? Isn't there a support page for your french xda? (From witch provider was the xda sold? AFAIK orange has its own new SPV)
The English rsu seems to be ver 4.21 and is located here http://www.o2.co.uk/personal/xda/docs/Radio_Stack_Upgrade_v421.zip
The German RSU is also V4.21 but I don't have a direct link. Just click http://www.o2online.de/o2/business/datenloesungen/xda/downloads/index.html and go ahead.
The RUU seems to have the version 3.17 (UK) or 3.19 (Germany)
Look here http://xda-developers.com/rom/ RSU-> the "Phone BIOS" and RUU->"The PDA sw" So I think the RSU is not written in a specific language but only for a special region (US and Europe). But the RUU is.
HTH, Chris
problem solved
I actually could solve the problem by going in the bootloader and switch to DualBand GSM 900/1800. BUT then you CANNOT go in the BAND menu or it automatically switch you back into 900 ...

Radio stack from the special edition ROM with PPC2003 ?

Hi,
With my default configuration XDA (I have an XDA from Rogers, with I guess the same default configuration as the AT&T version), it was hard for me to maintain a conversation in my appartment if I was not just beside a window, and even then, my correspondants were complaining about interruption in the communication .
This winter I installed the Special Edition Rom available from this forum and noticed instantaneously a better radio reception. I can walk around everywhere and the sound was neat and clear everywhere .
At the beginning of February I installed PPC2003. I would like to keep with PPC2003 specially because of the Voice Command I installed and, even if I have to speak in a funny way (I'm French-Canadian and I have to pronounce French names with an american accent) I found it useful in the car. But the counterpart is that now the communication level is back where it was with the original configuration :? .
So my question is: can I install the Radio Stack from the Special Edition ROM with the PPC2003 ? If yes, how ?
Thank you !
Bernard
I dont think the special edition rom included radio stack upgrade. I may be wrong.

Could it then be the default configurations proposed by the Rom ? When I installed it, my provider was not in the list of the proposed providers for the auto-config. I do not remember which one I used, but as I stated in the previous e-mail, the result was terrific !
I am not really aware how this stack is working or can be configured. If you have suggestions of things to try, or places to look for, I'll appreciate !
Bernard
As the previous poster said, there is no radio stack with the developers rom, why dont you reinstall the developers rom, take a note of all the settings, then install WM2003 and reinstate those settings to WM2003. I once tried saving my setting in the permanent save options using the developer rom, but when I installed WM2003 there was no option to restore it.

Ok, I'll do it. Just a dummy question: where do I look for this kind of information ? Through the bootloader ? How do I see it ?
Thanks for your help

Radio version
 I am on T-Mobil USA and I did upgrade to AT&T 2003 .
I did not installed Radio version from AT&T . I had 6.21.00 .
After that (shame on me) I installed Radio 6.24.00 . I lost my GPRS .
I can use only internet2.voicestream.com and wap.voicestream.com ,
which is just a WAP versions . I cannot use my MS Messenger and
is the biggest problem , couse I have business on eBay . So ...
I took the AT&T upgrade , reeped off the the radio stuck A.33.02
(4 files) and install them on device .After that I am having much much better signal , but still I have no HTML version or HTML Radio , whatever you call that . My MS Messenger is DEAD . So what is your suggestion :
Keep looking for the Radio 6.24.01 , which I cannot find standalone
version . Or return to 6.21.00 (if you know where , please give me the link to download ) :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

How can I restore my system to the original states

Hello,
I know that I should'nt have do that, but I need your help.
I upgrade my MDA on the following state :
Rom : 4.01.16 Eng
RSU : 4.21.00
For buisness reson I have to go back to the original state.
Rom : 3.18.01 ENG
RSU : 3.23.00
Unfortunatly I didn't do a Backup
I have acces to some MDA with the originale rom and rsu
My question is how to go back to the originale state, without destroying the other mda with the originale rom? via bootloader?
Thanks in advance
The ROM part is easy, you can get the original 3.18 ENG from the carrier devices site http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific
The RSU might be your nightmare especially that you have 4.21 which showed to be the pain for most people here ... anyway, in the same site you will find RSU 3.25 for Qtek ... it's almost the same as 3.23.
Good luck
Biso007 Thanks for you answer,
I look at your link but it seems to be the Qteck version, I really need the officiale t-mobile version.
Is there any way to save the originale one in one of the other phone that I have access and restore to my one?
Biso: Is the rom found in http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific WM2003? What radio version it contain? Is it compatible with PW10B1 device?
I'm now running T-Mobile ROM 4.01.16 ENG, Radio 6.25.02. I'm plannning to change the Radio to be compatible with Asia-Pacific and in the US (I've been going to Asia and back to the States for business, so I want a device compatible with both Asia-Pacific and US). Thanks
ok I Download the old version on a new phone via OSimagetool to my sd card and put it on my device. working perfectly.
So now I just have to downgrade the radio stack to 3.23.00, where I can find it and how to downgrade?
I download the file here
http://www.t-mobile.at/business/mobiles_arbeiten/MDA/SWupdates/
Looks like it's working, (at least I have the right number at startup)
the only problems that I had it's that rhe rsupgrade was lauch every time I startup, I had to delete the file rsupgrade on startup folder. now it's working like before.
Thanks a lot.
By the way, does it exist a solution in mda to copy contact name to the sim card?

No, it's PPC2002 and the RSU is 3.25 for PW10A devices (900/1800). I know it coz it was on my device before I replace the mother board with a B-type one.
If you are going to use 900 MHs network in Asia you can keep your current RSU ... I have it on my device and my network is 900/1800 ... other than this you better use 2 phones or get a new XDA II

Dealing with the SIM book is a matter of s/w and the device type (XDA or MDA or ... ) has nothing to do with it. You can find many freeware s/w to deal with the SIM entries.
ok thanks a lot, do you just have the name of one of this freeware?
try this http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=7496
don't work for me

The latest and best XDA-II SE upgrade

Hello, I have read..and.read..and.read of information lately regarding the possibility to upgrade the XdA-II to W20003SE. However, in order to be able to know what versions to upgrade to, and which editions to use, one has to read the forum very thorougly. I found one posting with a major detailed upgrade instruction, but a few days later a new posting appeared pointing out problems with this..and.that..and use radio 1.08 instead of this and that.
My question is. In short, can someone send the zip with the _best_ working SE upgrade for the XDA-II ready to to install without having to do any fiddling ? I have a Qtek2020 with the 1.72 version of the ROMs.
Thank you very much, in advance
Oh, Merry XMas.
Espen!
best 2003SE
is sin 2003SE.
that is 2003SE_AU_v3
you will find it on this forum.
hope this helps.
It´s the English mod of the Chinese ROM, that i have found to be the most stable and complete SE rom sofar.
just downloaded the V3.1 exe and will try to upgrade my 1.72WWE
qtek 2020 later tonight. Hope it works!
Hi,
It depends on the software you use.
The most compatible & stable version is 2.20
I read in the 3.1 of the Sin edition of the AU ZIPfile that it _only_ support the australian 02 edition. Does this mean i cannot use it on my norwegian qtek 2020 using the norwegian Telenor operator ?
What could I use ?
It means that...

It means that it is not tweaked for qtek, and does not contain Norwegian telco operator configuration.
However, you could download some of the tools here and tweak it as per DCS process stated in the forum.
