I have a G5+ with a no data plan on T-Mobile. I am trying to connect to my WIFI with no success. The phone sees the SSID and it saves the password but never connects to the network. I have "forgotten" the SSID on the phone, rebooted the phone AND rebooted the network but cannot get on the network. All of the other devices including my Moto G Power connect to the network so I am stumped. Any ideas? I am not willing to do a hard reset so that's out.
thanks

Guys,
I have had my wing for almost a year. The WiFi has always worked. Something strange is happening to my wing now that I can't quite explain. Now when I try to connect via wifi, it connects to my router, but no IP adress. What's worse, when it does connect to my network, my laptop's connection gets screwed up. The laptop no longer can connect to the wifi network.
I changed the IP address on the laptop so that it isn't in the DHCP range thinking that the router is just giving the same IP adress twice. No dice. It's just weird since I had this exact same setup working a week or two ago. Obviously, I've soft reset the device. I would like not to have to hard reset the phone. It's almost as if the Wing is messing up the rest of the network.
Any ideas?
I'm trying to use my phone to connect to my home internet network. For some reason, it's not working. Why is it this?
I have turned on WiFi, I see the network show up on my phone, but when I open the IE, it doesnt work. My brother can connect through his Iphone on our home network, but I can't.
What can I do?
Problem resolved. Set your internet explorer/browser to "Work/Private Network" if connecting to your own ISP at home. Haven't tried other places, but will mess around with settings.
I recently got a new Xperia Play and everything works fine, and Wifi works fine on any router except the one in my house, where the phone connects and then I get a limited connectivity sign and the pages in the browser won't load, now I thought this was something with the router so I power cycled and everything but still same thing, I tried to allow the phone's MAC address through the router settings and it didn't even attempt to connect, finally I tried changing the encryption type but still no luck. I thought it was a problem with the router because the wireless computers can't connect either but wired works just fine, so I reset the router and set up the connection again with provided PPoE details and now the wireless PCs work fine but still the same problem with the phone and I recently rooted so I need wifi to be able to play the preloaded games again because I have to update them :S
PLEASE someone help!
Hi all,
I used to connect to my Vigor 2900Gi wifi router with my S4 without any issues. Today I reset the router to factory defaults, reconfigured, used the same SSID, but different password and I wasn't able to connect to it anymore. I tried to forget the network, restart the phone, restart the router, but nothing. All other devices at home connected without any problems (win7 laptop, macbook, ipad, iphone). I decided to try with new SSID, so I reconfigured the router again. This time I was able to connect with the S4, but had a problem with the windows laptop. So, I reconfigured for 3rd time, completely new SSID. Now I'm not able to connect with the S4 again. I see the network, but it gives me "Authentication error occured". I am 100% sure the password is correct. I tried to forget the the network again and everything, but still no go.
Can anyone help, please? It's really frustrating
(And i still have the problem with the windows laptop anyway)
Hi there,
I have a 2 routers set up at home.
192.168.0.1 - Main AP, DHCP enabled, WiFi Channel 10
192.168.0.100 - Repeater, DHCP disabled, WiFi Channel 4
Both are connected by an Ethernet cable and have the same SSID Name, Password and Security.
Other devices (FireSticks, Chromecasts, Google Home, Moto X Play) can connect to either router wirelessly to the internet.
But my Samsung Galaxy S8 (and my wife's S7) sometimes has a problem when it initially connects to the repeater first. When it happens it connects but I get the exclamation mark (!) next to the WiFi symbol and not connection.
A workaround I've found is to turn off phone WiFi and get closest to the Main AP and turn back on so it connects to that one first.
I've tried setting Static IPs for the phones, but that still hasn't helped.
Once connected to the Main AP successfully the phone roams between it and the repeater as expected.
Any ideas anyone? I never had any issues with my old Moto X Play phone.
