I've got exactly the same problem, even when I plug it into the AC adapter. When I plug it in the AC it starts-up, but gives me the information that there's unkown battery left? How could this happen, I've used the thing with a new battery for about 4 days and then I let it rest for about 4 weeks but now it's dead!
Hi.I received a xda min s in monday and after a day of use the battery is discharged so I charged the phone with computer's usb port and the charging led is switched on. When I came back I tried to turn on the phone but it seems dead ... It is on just a few times and went off immediately after the first screen.
Anyone can help me ? Thanks
Hi,
Just been through the same with mine. Thought it was the battery, so got a new one via ebay. Had the same problem, long story short, it turned out to be the usb cable, changed it and new battery charging fine. Looks like the old battery was fried as will not accept a charge any longer. The cable fault was rapidly discharging the battery, even though it indicated it was being charged. Hope that helps.
Hello,
my problem is strange.
When I turn off my Atom Life it can be charged (USB, External Power Supply).
Red indicator light on.
When turned on (in use) it does not charge. The charging symbol in the status line shows the unit is connected to external power, but the red indicator light is off, and power continuously goes down.
I already tried a hard reset, but that did not help.
Does anybody have an idea?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that everything with charging went fine earlier (until some weeks ago)
charging
same thing with my XDA ATom dude
I have ordered a new battery for mine at ebay (did not arrive yet).
Maybe it helps.
Otherwise ...
Ok, the battery came in and it does not change anything.
Still the same issue.
So I am gonna litter it...
bye bye
New info,
there seems to be a bad contact at the USB connector.
If I connect the USB cable and hold the plug in a specific angle, then the charging light (red led) turns on).
Brought the device to a friend of mine. He's good at electronics and tries to figure out and fix the usb connector.
wait and see

any news for your problem ??
i'm having this problem too
i brought used one and seems the battery is almost dead and can't charge when device is ON
Thanks!
I got a used atom life and bought a new main battery for it. Charging via USB cable connected to my notebook is working fine. Using the (wall socket plugin) power supply with the same cable it behaves the same way you described it. It starts charging only when the device is turned On and back Off. In my opinion the power supply is the reason. Maybe it is to week ar has some sort of security switch build in, which is protecting it against to high power consumption.
In my case it was definitely not the charger. I tried several ones and they behaved all the same (the original one wrked for long time).
It is the device itself.
I had it sent to a friend who was able to open it and a have a look at it.
The USB plug itself was a bit loose. But soldering it again did not fix the problem.
There seems to be a micro break of a wire on the mainboard (which is multi layered). So no real chance to repair.
I replaced my device by a HTC Desire which was available in Germany very very cheaply (you don't want to know the price because it wuld be too frustrating).
So goodbye Atom Life.
Hello everyone. I have a problem with huawei p9 lite 2017
When i replacement LCD with frame I damaged the battery.
After buying 3x new battery still this problem
First battery:
when smartphone is power off and when plug usb cable on the screen show grey battery icon and phone dont charge
Second battery:
When smartphone is power off and when plug usb cable. Battery status showing 0 % and showing charging but physically
dont charge
Third battery:
FOR 5 MINUTES was OK. Smartphone was a charging. Suddenly phone was a restart and back to problem with second battery
My Mi a1 updated the june security updates and entered bootloop. I had to open the phone and use edl method to flash the phone. When i was opening the phone using the charging port space it seems i distorted the charging pins.
After this, i had issues with charging sometimes and my phone could not transfer information from the computer. It later graduated and my phone right now does not charge unless it's switched off. I got a new charging port and replaced it, however the same conditions occur - my phone charged only when switched off. I checked online and noticed that for a mtk phone, we could use mtk engineering app to switch VBUS on but i did not see a solution for a snapdragon phone. I also noticed that if i disconnected the mainboard flex and reconnected it, my phone would charge normally.
I would appreciate any help in solving the issue. The phone is still fairly new but the charging issue is really bad.
Thanks
