The instructions below reflect the process I followed to install the Google Play Store on my Fire TV Stick 3 (sheldonp) which I have been using for a month now. To be clear, I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device as a result of following this guide.
If you already have knowledge of the process, then it is simply setting up microG Istaller Revived with the Android TV Google Play Store.
If you are new to this, then the entire process is explained below. It is assumed that the Fire TV is already rooted and has Magisk installed.
Download the following and transfer the files to the Fire TV using adb, file transfer apps or a file manager with LAN/Cloud access.
LSPosed
FakeGApps
Google Play Store (Android TV)
microG Installer Revived
LSPosed is available in two variants as of now, but the Zygisk one is considered to be the way forward. So, in case you are using the Zygisk release, then you need to enable Zygisk from Magisk settings as well.
Go to the Modules section of Magisk and select ‘Install from storage’, following which, choose the LSPosed zip. This step was tricky for me because it opens the DocumentsUI for selection, which doesn’t quite work with the remote. I used a wired mouse with OTG, but that too was quite wonky. Eventually, I managed to enable ‘Show internal storage’ from the right-hand menu and then internal storage from the left-hand menu. The good news is that once you select a folder and module, then the same folder always remains open in DocumentsUI, making future module installations easier. Reboot as required.
It is most likely that you will not see the LSPosed app on your homescreen, so navigate to /data/adb/lspd using a root file manager or adb and install the manager.apk file present in that folder to get the LSPosed app on the homescreen.
Install the FakeGapps apk and enable the module from within the LSPosed app.
Rename the Android TV Play Store downloaded earlier to Phonesky.apk and copy it to /data/adb using a root file manager or adb.
Install the microg Installer Revived module from within Magisk and reboot when prompted.
After reboot, you should see the Google Play Store icon in your app drawer. Open it, choose sign-in, after which it will redirect you to the Google web login process through microG.
That’s it! You should now have a fully functional Play Store on the Fire TV.
Bonus: Some specific apps from the Play Store fail to invoke the Amazon keyboard for input fields. In that case, you can download a keyboard from the Play Store and make it the default one. I did so for Gboard installed from the Play Store and the command to do so was as follows:
Code:
ime list
ime enable com.google.android.inputmethod.latin/com.android.inputmethod.latin.LatinIME
ime set com.google.android.inputmethod.latin/com.android.inputmethod.latin.LatinIME
Hello!
I don't see the Play Store app in the drawer even after placing the Phonesky.apk at /data/adb. I only see the Microg Revived app that I installed via Magisk

If during the microG Installer Revived installation you see "Installing real Play Store", then it means the store was installed properly.
I have been using the FireTV Leanback Launcher since day 1 since I absolutely hate the KFTV launcher interface which also happens to not display all sideloaded apps. Not sure if you are using the default launcher then.
Thank you for the procedure, I can now use application which needs google services.
But I can't use google play store because I can't log in. Every time I enter my login, I become back to begening of login procedure. Is there is something I should do ? Thanks

I ran into the same problem. Every time I entered my email address microG's Login Activity would crash. What fixed this for me was downgrading to an older version of microG. Now I'm using the version packaged with microG Installer Revived v2.4.0, and have had no issues logging in. If you're using v20.4 Magisk Manager then this the version available to download straight from the app.

Hey all,
I'm a regular on these forums (throughout the day every day) and like to develop my own ROMs for other devices and help out in every way I can!
I noticed a lot of threads spread out across the AFTV forum for Xposed, Gapps etc. I however feel they should all be in one place!
I will provide details/instructions for things that worked for me.
I will not have guides someone else made without their permission as well as I will provide credits where due!
* I will not cover rooting or installing a pre rooted ROM.
* I will assume if you are here you are on @rbox latest rom/recovery. You have root with SuperSU and a working Busybox.
* Thread will be cleaned and links added soon!
*I will upload files I know work 100% to either my AFH or my Drive folder.
* Eventually (when I get my keyboard/mouse) I will be creating ROMs with all of this baked in.
Xposed+Play Store
I didnt get around to pictures and a more advanced tutorial YET but willpost screens later:
1) Be on rbox latest pre rooted rom and recovery.
2) Download the following: Xposed framework, Xposed installer apk, hdx module apk, open gapps nano flashable zip, lean back playstore 5.10 & Market helper apk (market helper might not be necessary but I used it.)
https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0By9dxKZHr9vaUVhMRnc0RGxTNnc/edit
3) Have a custom launcher already such as leanback launcher or firestarter etc. as well as a root browser like es file explorer and/or root browser.
4) If mouse doesnt work then use a mouse apk such as Wukong on play store.
5) Move all downloaded files to storage of choice (internal sd card, microSD or usb storage)
6) Boot into TWRP and navigate to the Xposed framework and flash it then reboot system.
7) Once booted install the Xposed installer apk and reboot.
8) Install HDX module apk.
9) Go into Xposed installer it should say everythings installed. Go to modules and use a mouse to check the box for HDX and reboot.
10) Boot back into TWRP and navigate to and flash the open gapps zip and reboot to system.
11) Go into system/priv-app/Phonesky/ and delete the phonesky apk and reboot.
12) Using a root browser, navigate to the leanback play store we downloaded and rename to Phonesky.apk
13) Copy the apk and put it in /system/priv-app/Phonesky/Phonesky.apk
14) Set permissions on Phonesky.apk to rw-r-r and reboot
15) When booted back up, using a 3rd party launcher, open Play Store.
16) You might need to use a mouse again to be able to sign into google account.
17) optional step, install market helper apk and set to Google/Android TV.
Play Store should work and download apks successfully.
Note: As usual usb debugging should be on throughout the whole process and when opening stuff make sure to grant su permissions if it pops up throughout the process.
V4A with Neon
1) Download latest V4A apk and push to device.
2) Install apk and open it.
3) When it prompts, install driver (if it gives an option install highest quality.)
4) Download and extract zips at this drive folder (also download the v4a apk while youreat it) :
https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0By9dxKZHr9vaOHJOMkc3TUFsSXM/edit
5) Take all the files and place in respective folders. For example, 50viper.sh goes into /system/etc/init.d/50viper.sh
6) Each file we push needs to have permissions set to rw-r-r.
7) Reboot device.
8) Push universal init.d from the play store to your device and install it.
9) Open it and grant su. You should see the 50viper.sh file. Turn the init.d switch to on in the app and then press the start button towards top right.
10) you should see it say it was started. Now open the V4A app and select the menu button (you can use menu button on fire tv remote) and go to driver status.
It should say everything thing is enabled and supported! Keep in mind it will not show processing unless you are playing audio.
Miscellaneous APK's (Leanback Youtube, ADB Wifi, Kodi 15.2 etc. Is a work in progress...)

My apps section looks totally different. Just little icons on a big page. How do I upload a picture for you?
Like this
I have OS 4.5.5.2 with Play Store working well, it does crash occasionally, but it loads and you can download apps from it.
Here's what I did (from memory). I do not have my tablet with me currently to check versions of the Google Play APKs but I believe what I wrote below is correct, I will update later if not. These are pseudo-instructions. You need to be familiar with how to do a variety of tasks of Android (flashing, adb, etc).
A) Follow steps to unlock bootloader and flash stock repacked ROM from that same thread... https://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/general/thor-unlocking-bootloader-firmware-t3463982
B) Flash SuperUser
C) Downloaded the following Google Play APKS:
Google Account Manager: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...google-account-manager-4-4-4-1227136-release/
Google Services Framework: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...gle-services-framework-4-4-4-1227136-release/
Google Play Services: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...s-10-0-84-030-137749526-android-apk-download/
Google Play Store: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ay-store-7-3-26-k-all-0-pr-144039714-release/
D) Download APKPure https://apkpure.com/apkpure/com.apkpure.aegon
E) Download a new keyboard from APKPure (I used Google GBoard I think)
D) Psuedo commands:
adb shell
su
cd /system/app
rm com.swype.* (these are large files for the keyboard and need to be removed to install Google apps)
E) Push Google Account Manager and Google Services Framework to /system/app (adb push xxx /system/app)
F) adb install Google Play Services & Google Play Store
G) Download the following:
gapps-kk-20150412-minimal-edition-signed.zip: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934554406
Xposed Framework SolarWarez: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64063168&postcount=62
HDXPosed 1.3: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618158
H) Reboot to TWRP and flash gapps-kk-20150412-minimal-edition-signed.zip
I) Install Xposed Framework from SolarWarez
J) Install and activate HDXPosed 1.3
Again, this is from memory as I don't have my tablet with me, but this has Google Play working well (along with Google Play Games) on Fire OS 4.5.5.2. The only issue I've found has to do with Underground apps not showing in the Play Store. I think there must be a way to fix that (it might have something to do with the HDXPosed changes). I will investigate that later...
Stable? What has the stability been like since installing, as you seem to be the only person who has managed it, albeit I am only searching the net . . .

You mean the amazon app store? Yes this is just a timing thing... I just got some refurb hdx from woot and noticed that the underground wasn't working on these stores but was on my HDX... so i turned off and on and a day later the approval banner for underground showed and I hit ok and now it shows
Tried it. Play store just keeps crashing.. Couldn't even login. Xposure said it wouldn't install due to lack of space even after deleting Swype.

Hi guys, this is an Tutorial of installing MicroG.
MicroG is an alternative to Gapps that includes:
Service Core: Is a library app, providing the functionality required to run apps that use Google Play Services or Google Maps Android API. (GmsCore)
Services Framework Proxy: Is a small helper utility to allow apps developed for Google Cloud to Device Messaging (C2DM) to use the compatible Google Cloud Messaging service included with GmsCore. (GsfProxy)
Unified Network Location Provider: Is a library that provides Wi-Fi- and Cell-tower-based geolocation to applications that use Google’s network location provider. It is included in GmsCore but can also run independently on most Android systems. (UnifiedNlp)
Maps API: Is a system library, providing the same functionality as now deprecated Google Maps API (v1). (mapsv1)
Store: Is a frontend application providing access to the Google Play Store to download and update applications. (Phonesky) [Same functionality and looks as the Gplaystore]
Why you would want to install MicroG instead of Gapps?
1.More privacy
2.Uses very little ram and memory
3.OGYoutube, an youtube app that works only with MicroG and has backround playback and downloads directly from the app
How to install MicroG:
Prerequisites:
In order for MicroG to work, it needs to pretend to be the official implementation of Play Services. To do this, MicroG must be able to spoof Google’s Play Service’s package signature.
Signature spoofing is not available in most custom ROMs, though patches are available for ROM developers to include in their project. For Marshmallow and Nougat ROMs, spoofing is provided as a runtime permission that the user can grant or deny to apps, which is an added bonus.
If your Rom doesen't include Signature spoofing then you can activate Signature spoofing with: Tingle/Haystack/NanoDroid/FakeGapps[Xposed Module]
First option:
Download Services Core, Service Framework Proxy, UnifiedNpl and FakeStore if you want to install other stores than the Official Google play store. (Yald Store, F-Droid etc) [Download link: https://microg.org/download.html]
Install them. After that go to MicroG settings and click on self-check, give MicroG the permissions required and check "System grants signature spoofing permission" if its not checked. To log in to Phonesky you need to enable Google device registration in microG settings, after that make any changes you want to the settings.
For more Advanced things check out: https://shadow53.com/android/no-gapps/setup-guide/3/ and https://shadow53.com/android/no-gapps/setup-guide/4/
Option two:
Flash MicroG from Recovery
Dowloads:
MicroG: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657595051
PlayStore: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850504869

Microg&Patched-Playstore: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754472306
Flash any of theese in recovery.
Option three:
Download from https://downloads.nanolx.org/NanoDroid/Stable/
I recommend NanoDroid-MicroG.....zip
Go to Magisk Manager, Go to Modules and add the NanoDroid zip that you like.
Thats it.
Or is it?
How to install OGYoutube:
Install the modified MicroG apk from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/ogmods/microg-for-ogyt/microg-for-ogyt-0-2-4-81-gb1e98ea-dirty-release/microg-for-ogyt-0-2-4-81-gb1e98ea-dirty-android-apk-download/ (Its made so OGYoutube could work correctly.

[To make more apps work wihout play services, that MicroG doesen't include you can install "This app will run wihout google play services" Xposed Module]
You are DONE!

As i told in the thread.
MicroG is an ALTERNATIVE to Gapps. You don't flash MicroG over Gapps.
So basically uninstall the Gapps and MicroG / Clean flash the Rom.
And after that install NanoDroid-MicroG and NanoDroid-Patcher and enable google device registartion in microG settings.
Good luck. Next time read the thread proprerly

Hi,
I have installed Nanodroid via Magisk on LOS 15.
Signature spoofing is not enabled.
I tried the xposed installer from F-Droid. This did not work. Magisk has a number of xposed modules but I cannot figure out which version to use.
I then flashed nanodroid patcher 17.2. This failed also!
How can I get signature spoofing to work? Thanks!

Hi.
So your Rom is probably odexed.
You will need to use FakeGapps Xposed module.
Just install the Module, enable it from the Xposed app and reboot. Now signature spoofing will work.
If you need any futher help just pm me on Xda or telegram, @Thespartann.
Also if you want to log in into Play Store enable google device registration in MicroG settings.
I recommend you Aurora Store instead of Google Play Store
Good luck.

Hi Thespartann!
Thanks for the reply!
So, I got xposed installed. Flashed it in TWRP then in the xposed app I installed it via recovery.
I then eventually installed the FakeGapps app.
Microg gives self check now gives 'System spoofs signature' a tick - it did not before.
Another app 'Signature Spoofing Checker' however says 'Disabled' -???
I was trying to get the emergency/rideshare app 'Cell411' working. Previously it booted up and said play service were required. That message is now gone! Yay - except the map will not load!
So..
In microg there is a check box unchecked -'UnifiedNlp do not have location to test Geocoder'
In configure location backends I have 6 things ticked on.
nb The FOSS weather apps now load faster!
How do I get the map to load in Cell411 (and Uber)??
Am I missing some setting?
re: log in into Play Store enable google device registration in MicroG settings.
I have been using F-droid, Yalp and Aptoide. Will enabling device registration give me any functionality for maps?
I have not heard of Aurora! I will have to check that out!
What of google cloud messaging and SafetyNet - do I need those for any reason - map related or otherwise? ps I am trying to avoid all google service, foremost for privacy and secondarily for FLOSS reasons.
Thank you!

Hey again
From what I know google cloud messaging is for receiving notifications from some apps.
SafetyNet is so you can pass safety net
Google device registration is so you can log in to Youtube/Calendar/Play Store etc with your google account.
None of these three is enabled by default so no need to worry
Well, I never dived on how to use Maps, because I never needed to use Maps
Some apps may require you to have FakeStore, that's an app so other apps think you have Google Play installed (You might have to install FakeStore as a system app)
I will do my research these days and also highly update this thread with useful information.
As why Signature Spoofing Checker shows you you don't have signature spoofing, that may be because the framework still doesn't have signature spoofing, and the module FakeGapps just did some tricks, without modifying the Framework.

Hi!
I have a iiyama te6503mis-b1ag and was playing around with it. It has android so you can install apps, but you either have to download an apk from the browser and install it from the finder or install it from a USB stick using the finder.
I tried using Aptoide but when I try to install an APK it says "unknown apps can't be installed by this user" although both the system and the app itself have permission to install unknown apps. It has this issue too for installing APKs from within other apps. I can just install APKs from within the build in finder.
I also tried installing both play services and play store, but when I open the play store it immediately crashes.
Does anyone know how I can get either Aptoide or the play store working?

The solution is very simple and works:
- Activate developer mode in the settings (tap on build number several times)
- Enable USB debugging
- Download and unpack adb platform-tools
- Move desired .apks to platform-tools folder
- Connect to adb via WiFi or LAN connection
Example: adb connect 192.168.1.1
Install the app using the following command:
adb install kodi.apk

This is a quick guide on how to fix the Netflix FHD problem. The problem is actually that even if the device is Widevine L1 certified but is not Neftlix certified then HD content wont play. There are a few dirty ways to bypass this. I will write three waysSome things before we start:
I am not responsible for any damage to the device or data loss.
Backup important data just in case!
Method 1. Downloading patched apk:
Download the patched apk from here.
Install the apk.
Open Netflix and sign-in.
Enjoy!
The easiest method but the app version is old (4.16.3) and if you update the app the patch will be lost.
Method 2. Using Lucky Patcher:
Download and install lucky patcher from here (Use LP Installer).
Download Netflix 7.44 from here.
Now you have two ways to install the .apkm file.
Using "ApkMirror Installer":
Download and install "ApkMirror Installer" from Play Store or APKMirror.
Open apkm file from file browser with "ApkMirror Installer" and install it.
Using "App Manager":
Download and install "App Manager" from F-Droid.
Open apkm file from file browser with "App Manager" and install it.
Launch the app to check if it is working but do not update!
Close the app and launch Lucky Patcher.
On the left side menu tap "Update lucky patcher" and install the update (if one is available)
Then on the same menu tap "Download custom patches"
After the operation is finished go to main screen of Lucky Patcher and select Netflix
Tap "Menu of Patches" -> "CustomPatch-applied APK" ->Check "Signature verification killer" -> "Rebuild The App" -> "Go To File" -> "Uninstall and install"
Open Netflix and sign-in.
Enjoy!
Slightly more complex method but you have a more recent version of Netflix
Method 3 [ROOT]:
Install Magisk and root your device.
Download and install with Magisk this module from here
Uninstall Netflix completely.
Restart your device.
Download and install latest Netflix version.
Open Netflix and sign-in.
Enjoy!
The most advanced way because it needs a rooted device but works with every version (at least for now) but beware since this patch changes the device model name it might brake some stuff.
Also if you want to revert back to original model name just uninstall the module.
I tested the three methods on Lenovo TB-X606F and the two first on LG Q7 and worked nicely.
be very careful, this has all the appearance of "data theft", something similar as "keylogger" in windows.

More information? Proof? Don't just say. At least 2 method is open-source, where the "data theft" code?
