Did anybody try Second space?
I had enabled the Second space but switching back and forth between the First and Second is pretty slow
IMO, it also generally slowed down the phone (first/default space), I think due to high memory consumption
In fact, couple of apps I use (in my first/default space) like EMail, Blue Mail, Skype, XDA App started to crash (they never did before)
Eventually I deleted that Second soace and everything returned back to normal
I'm on Xiaomi.eu 21.6.9 (MIUI 12.6, Sndroid 11), I don't know does the Second space works better with MIUI 11/Android 10 (less memory consumption)

I got my X10 monday, when I got it the first app that I installed is appkiller and system monitor. In the beginning, when I closed all the apps by appkiller, the system monitor said that I have 175mb of RAM. After using it for 3 days, I started to notice that my ram is going down and down... I mean it went down to 35mb. I did a factory reset and then I started installing very few apps and kept noticing my ram. No matter how many programs I keep on killing the ram seems to be going down and down.
Why is the ram going down? The phone was supose to have internal rom of 1Gb and ram of 348mb. I didn't play/install any games yet it kept on going down and down
Any ideas? Who is eating my rams?
This behavior is normal on Android. It just wants to load everything in the background. When there is not enough ram Android will kill some task by itself. It's meant to work that way:
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/fundamentals.html#actlife
So don't worry about your ram, even if its only 30MB available, unless the device turns really slow.
When I got this device (coming from Windows Mobile) I was very focused on the ram like you. I've used an taskkiller to kill almost everything, used an startupauditor etc. etc. However I found that these apps do more harm than good. I run the X10 bone stock now, without any killers and it still runs like a charm. I'm getting 48 hours of life out of the battery with some normal use (a few hours of music a day, browings, timescape, gps). Just enjoy the phone and don't look so much at the ram
Agreed...
I went from the hellish pits of WoeMo, and took the same approach with task killers, startup auditors, and all that absolutely necessary stuff for WoeMo...
I now run without them, and everything works like a charm - I'm inclined to think it actually works better, but I haven't done all the math yet (only went back to stock a few days ago), but I would err towards it being better without them.
If anything, I'd recommend using a task switcher, such as AppSwipe, so you can close any programs you've left open, by returning to them and pressing the Back button to close them, rather than the Home button (as I often do) which leaves them open....
i have really no choice but to use a task killer
every time when my ram drop to like 40+ or 30+mb it lags like hell
then i spend about 15s get to my task killer and press "kill"
everything fines then
I've been having quite a big problem recently. Something has been sucking internal memory like crazy. I've flashed several ROMs and still have the same problem of the low memory alert.
I flashed another ROM today and had 144MB of internal memory at noon. Now, without downloading any apps or doing anything major, I now have 133MBs for internal storage. I've currently been using a2sd because iGo is a total space hog and its better than the native gps app imho (doesnt seem to lose GPS signal every few minutes)
The other issue I'm having is the GPS. Its pretty much crucial to me right now because I've been going from Thousand Oaks to LA and everywhere in between and have only found two ROMs that I dont have GPS problems with. Those: EE4.0 and Aloysius
However, both of those have been giving me the low memory warning constantly and I cannot recover space no matter what I delete. I tried deleting iGo (a huge app) and it only accounted for a few MB (the full app is over 20)
I'm quite confused and have never had this problem before.
I've searched the web and it seems theres no solution available at the moment and Froyo takes care of it.

Well, about the internal memory storage, it could be your cache. Try downloading an app called CacheMate; I'm not sure about the free version, but the paid version has a 'Power Clear' option that clears ALL the cache on your phone. It usually clears about 8-14MB of cache everyday.
Also, 11MB really isn't really a big deal at all, as it will function just as well with 133MB as it will with 144MB.
Hi guys,
Has anyone noticed heavy lag and freezing when using the phone. I don't have a lot of apps installed and i have disabled most apps that i don't use and the phone is still giving me issues.
Any advice is appreciated. [emoji4]
I switched from RAZR MAXX HD and this phone is a space rocket in comparison to my old Droid. Have you tried factory restore? Then if it lags - I would try to return it to Moto.
Check CPU utilization. Maybe some app hangs on. I've noticed that noozy (music player) lags like hell when album is over and player remains in notification bar.

I have the same problem, I tried to removing as much as possible automatic start calling but often when I uncheck the receiver this puts me "failed" in Rom Toolbox, I have tried Xposed Auto Boot module, but I do not feel that it works.
But for me, I have a lot of app instaled and my UI is very modified (Nova Launcher, Gravity Box, various Widget), so I know why he lag, but I still find it overheating lot and that's what most do slow.
Hi, I am having same issue. My configs was same as you, @Trinytix, but I had uninstalled all of them because lag issues. And now I continue to have same lag issues. When I use the standard cam for five minutes it become freezy and lag and sometimes I lose some photos. All the time it is burning. Just stops to burn when I leave it without work about 30 minutes. I think the problem is the snapdragon 810 but in other foruns some say that the problems with this processor was fixed.
I've been having similar issues, I got really into theming (using nova prime) the last couple of months and at the end of January the phone started to really lag hard. A couple weeks ago I stopped being able to open any apps other than the phone and google's messenger. I tried to factory reset from settings and could not (device gets stuck un the power down sequence), so I went the recovery mode route. reinstalled a fraction of my apps, put back a much stripped down version of my theme, and things were mostly ok, if a little laggy. However, the phone insisted that there was no SD card (internal or external) despite there being a 64GB card, which would sometimes show up when viewed in settings, some apps (podcast addict) were able to access the internal memory, but others couldn't (cameras, sms, photos, music). Yesterday the keyboard ceased to launch for more than a split second at a time, and would not take any input (you would not believe how infuriating this is unless you've experienced it first hand). In an attempt to regain some functionality I started uninstalling everything that I don't consider vitally important (bus app, podcasts, messenger) couldn't get through more than 1 or 2 at a time because multiple windows would stack telling me processes like "motorola" "android" and "media" had stopped. I did succeed in stripping away all the automation apps and theming apps (tasker, nova, icon packs, etc). I can't even place a phone call on the first try.
Oh and to add insult to injury I have to darned green lines about 0.5cm wide now.
Looks like hw problem or system got corrupted. Try to re-flash whole system but if is hw...
So i keep switching between stock and TruPure because my phone keeps getting slow after around the 2-3 month mark. (after a clean flash)
The only thing that helps after that is a clean wipe that temporary solves the problem. I do not have a lot of apps installed, only ones i use daily.
I have never had this problem with my last phone (a Oneplus one)
Is it time to format the internal storage as well? (have not done this for a while now)
Will switching to AOSP solve this problem?
I have some apps installed (around 6gb) with some heavy ones like facebook, snapchat ect and it still works fine for me. I'm on stock 6.0.1 eu. It's not always perfectly smooth but never had to wait for longer time or reboot device because of freeze. For now I have 1104h of up time (around 46 days) and it doesn't feel like it needs any cleaning.
I have the same problem. A reboot makes it faster again, but nothing like a clean reinstall...
Is there a way to use all of the ram available?
My phone always says that around 500 mb of ram is free so this is basicaly wasted ram right?
This is my issue, too. I see, that my phone (although I set it to NOT close the apps, and set which ones manually) it still closes(hibernates?) them after a few minutes.
Example: If I swith from gmail to other app and wait 5 minutes or something, when I try to switch back to gmail it is opening slower (like it would first time) but if I switch withing 1 minute, it is fast.
I agree ram management is very bad, I hope when custom kernels come, it will be better.
