My mobile hard drive broke down and I replaced it. The capacity of the new hard drive was 16 GB and that made me happy.
Later I found out that the new OS does not have Persian language, so I flashed it myself. After flashing, I realized that only 4 GB of hard drive was used (3 GB of OS and 1 GB free).
I ask you for help to partition the hard drive and use the unused part of the hard drive.

I have a Gene in which i am using a 2 GB mini-MMC card.
Once in 2-3 days my gene loses the data on the card and shows some strange charecters with 1 GB or 2 GB size.Usually multiple folders with such strange characters are found.When i soft reset the card is shown normally.But after 2-3 months even softreset does not work.Then i have to format my card and start from scratch.3 times i have done hard reset but without any effect.I am not using any cracked software.I removed all third party software but still the same thing continues.
So i need your advice as
1. I cannot send the phone to repair as the nearest service center is 1000 km away.
2. I am not able to try another card as my mini-mmc is stuck inside the Gene( Damn the person who conceived this idea of putting the storage card space in an inaccesible position )
Please my dear friends. Any tidbit of idea can save my phone

I read somewhere that partitioning will resolve the issue but I just couldn't get to do it. There are guides everywhere to tweak the registry to fool the OS into thinking that your storage card is not a removable drive and then partitioning it, but I just can't get to do it. It shows me a drive with only 52mb space!?!
Anyways, this is a gene issue and we need to get it resolved. If anyone out there knows anything about it, please help.

After successfully experimenting with somany options atlast i have found the answer for the card corruption.
IT WAS DUE TO MERRIAM WEBSTER( SLOVOED ) DICTIONARY WHICH I HAVE USED FREQUENTLY-BOTH UNABRIDGED&MEDICAL.
I have removed them 1 week back and nomore card corruption since then.
So there is an issue with slovoed and WM5 ppc.
If anyother members having similar problem try this option.
I bought a 4gb a while ago and it was detected and everything was working fine. It was when I hit the 2gb mark that I started having problems. Every time I stored more than 2gb into my card, put it in my wizard, it would delete everything new I had placed and just display 1.9gb used.
I tried placing dummy files to make it 3gb used but it would still delete everything after 2gb. My computer detects all files correctly, its when I put it into my wizard it deletes stuff.
Also, the phone even says 3755.31 MB storage available. and Used memory displays 1900 MB in use, I cant pass this mark.
I am using TNT's latest rom. Do I need to do anything to make my wizard be able to store more than 2gb?
I tried to partition the card so ill have less than 2gb in each partition but only the first partition was being displayed on the phone. and since I am using Windows XP, I cannot access the second partition on my card reader.

But men? Why to try a 4gb sd?
all we know it has problem with this cards
maybe a reflash is needed
try to reflas the rom
or make a hard reset
Yeah but since it WAS showing up, I thought id give it a try. I tried a hard reset and even flashed the rom again.

I think that the NonHC miniSD that you have needs to be formated in a desktop PC... or read a little about downgrade again to official wm5 if you are G4, cause i have read that you need to remove the hardSPL first or something... is better to read more hahaha
BTW if you are G3 so downgrade to an Official rom then retry the custom rom again... whatever you need to do is the final two hopes...

I'm thinking about get The Shift, however I found that there are two different versions, 120GB and 40GB, I'm not sure what else is different. and I just wondering if I can upgrade the hard drive by myself? if yes, how to get system installed or just copy it from old hard drive. thx
normally wat we get is 40GB htc shift depends on dealers that is selling htc shift. and Yes, u can upgrade the hdd urself. get the right 1.8 inch hdd or SSD with zif connector. in order to get system installed(xp , or windows 7) ,please follow the thread in this forum. to use vista from original hdd, use the image copy software to backup to another drive. thats it.
I have the following problem:
Every time I install a rom (in this case, Omega ROM) device ever tells me is less available memory for installing applications (Settings / More / Application Manager) to the indicated I remember about 8 gb free, I currently I have said that only 5'5 gb free. 3'7 gb in use ... It is false. The application takes more size is Plants Vs Zombies (80MB) so do not know how to solve this problem ....
Formatting? ALL partitions? FULL WIPE? I have TWPR.

SOLVED:
I formatted everything on this device (TWPR) and reinstall all of beginin'! And now, 8'9 GB free space showed! and only 400 mb in use!
My le pro 3 of 64 gb just have 8gb available,and i dont download anything. I did try reset and nothing change, continue the same thing. How can i solve this? (i did buy this cell a 1 day ago)
Should reset with format virtual SD card. Also you can try instal the newest version of OS.
