ALPS FF5000 & other headunits (8227L) pin codes for factory menus - Android Head-Units

Hi to all...
I have posted this article in need to know for other members and myself who has this device.
Codes for this device as listed :
(PLEASE IF ANYONE HAVE AND KNOW ADDITIONAL CODES PLEASE WRITE DOWN HERE)
1414 - Shutdown/Restart Android
12345678 - boot animation upgrade+update(Chinese language..)
8888 - advanced settings
5678 - Car LOGO
1111 - Memory status real-time
5555 - export advanced settings to SD or USB
1616 - Brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and tone controls
2134 - "TsMainUI8" window appears... All folders and apps selectable!! "Root" folders not visible!!
3234 - from RUSSIAN FORUM - something to help with settings of apps
1 - button config
2 - QR code appears on screen (don't know what for, though)
5 - Some kind of color controls (for the system layout/interface, maybe? Haven't tried this yet)
4 - Device reboot
- SETTINGS FOR TRIP/TRAVEL COMPUTER - xxxx (this one I need)
Please if any of you know this codes for 8227L demo alps 5000 device please write down.
Chinese merchants are somewhat stingy about that.

Thanks for the codes, mate! Wasn't aware of the 1/2/3/4 options, yet. Unfortunately I don't have any moe codes.
What would also be of interest for me is the different advanced settings options. What do the single items do? There are a lot of abbreviations that just don't make sense to me and you barely find anything on the net.
Couldn't find settings for auto speed volume (adjust volume with increasing/decreasing speed) for example. Also my unit does not dim automatically - and with manual dim it is too bright.
My seller just told me "not to mess with the radio too much - I might render it useless..." -.-

I'm sure that messing is a wrong word friend. Your seller doesn't wan't you tu mess around with device as device is under warranty maybe and he must report to you if you report any malfunction or misconfiguration. I asked my seller for some functions on more than oneoccasion and finally got answers (some are useless). Seller is just waiting and ignoring you till you pass warranty time and then after it is passed answer is usually we cannot help you.
More you know about yourd device more you be able to fix it. Thats my moto eversince i bought my device.
Auto speed volume and dimming are all connected to CANBUS device if you got it with your device.This is chip that connects vehicle computer with headunit. You can do a lot of things with that. I dont know yet how to enter in hidden settings and change all settings at will but will in future. Best solutions are in some russian forum about android devices. But caution, use this at your own risk because they root device and erase all ROM and then put open source android on it. Better than this Chinese softwares installed. At least you have all control over device. You just find your video on youtube how to configure andf that is all.
I suggest that you search google by your model device (if sold as mekede type mekede 8227L device, alps 5000 8227L etc.) and see all videos containing how to configure everything weven all codes for device to access settings quickly. I hope that you can find something, please share it here if you do. Thanks.

I was able to use 1616 to edit the display settings so my CarLinkIt app looks a lot better. But the display settings reset every time I restart the car. Is there a way to save them?

Probably canbus problem or memory problem. Enter hidden menu with 8888 and find option memory/save and enable it. I think its just that, if not consult with your seller.

Thanks for the tip. I had actually used code 1616 to adjust the settings but they won’t save. There’s no display options for 8888. Guess I’m just hooped.

Thanks a lot! I'll check it out (and keep the warnings in mind).

What screen do i use to enter these codes? I have the Xtrons branded FF-5000 for 7th gen Honda Accord. It came with a hardware CANBus interface but no app to configure.

Thanks for the reply! I decided to just keep my no name unit as the Agama launcher works with that unit and not this Xtrons branded one. I do like the EQ and Radio apps on the Xtrons but I hate the launcher. Cramazon allowed the return with little push back.

I think in most cases dimming options and autovolume are off since thos is most likely tampered device by Chinese. But I installed some launcher that has all this funcions and tone more. I think it is called FCC LAUNCHER

when got into trip computer, usualy thru steering wheel comand, there is a settings button on right upper corner , when clicked asks for pin to enter specific commands menu. I used code 5 and partially entered in device trip computer menu but sadly some menu settings I cannot change, if you change them after save and restart stays the same, I don't know why, probably seller didnt knew either how to change all that and left it the way it is. So , all I can do is change units and nothing more. Maybe if rooted will help to solve that, but I don't know how to do it and I'm afraid to brick my device.

Hi if those codes written doesn't work for you find ones on google specific for your device.

I have an infotainment 8227L based on Android 9 (the number on the start screen).
But (maybe after installing an app) the APKs can no longer be installed.
Error: "Error when analyzing the package"
I tried with configurations, I tried with factory reset, I tried with an update from the 8227l-8.bin and 8227l-8.upd files in a usb stick.
But nothing, I can't solve.
Can you help me?
Thank you

Hi, in device settings / infortainment or accounts / google find option "install from unknown location" , and check that files / package (apk) is fully downloaded - maybe it is better to download them on usb and then install from usb stick thru apk installer.
And next time try to put your problem in other related topics this topic is for settings codes not problem with settings and instalation
TOPIC LINK : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/general-questions-about-ff-5000-8227l-demo.4320569/

In the settings I did not find, I will try with the Google account...
Thank you.
Forgive me if I used the improper section. I have some difficulties with the English language and I am not familiar with forums.
I will continue with the link you provided.

In addition I also found these codes to use with the wheel in "About Device":
[3] A little quad code (more little of point 2)
[6] A semi-transparent inscription appears in Chinese, which translated means: "the Bluetooth name has been changed and the restart will take effect" (.. to me does not reset anything...)
[8] The inscription "GisWhiteList Reset Default " appears. I don't know what it mean.
[9] A dialog appears with a button all in Chinese

Navigation Application - Currently Garmin Mobile XT & TomTom Navigation are supported)
Screen Orientation - support portrait (default) and landscape
Volume - Enable (default) or disable the option to set the system volume to maximum level automatically
Bluetooth Mode - Enable or disable (default) the option to turn on bluetooth radio automatically
Display Brightness - Enable or disable (default) the option to turn display to maximum brightness automatically
** You need to set the navigation software in the panel configuration UI for it to work **

To Do List
Improve the UI with animated icon, to replace text status
Revamp panel UI as a navigation dashboard, instead of Garmin or TomTom navigation screen. Garmin/TomTom will be activated/displayed on demand.
I have posted something related to the topic in another thread, but thought I would now create a thread separately to discuss this topic, given that there's some progress being made over the weekends.
Of course, this panel was developed as a prototype, based on a personal need, as well as for me to examine what panel SDK has to offer. so it may not necessary be suitable/useful for others (different spin for different people!). But I do welcome feedbacks/ideas, if it helps to bring the panel development to a new height
After I owned the Xperia, and read about the concept behind the panel, I thought it was a very innovative idea. The point about panel, in my own interpretation, is that different people has different primary usage of the pda phone, and for each individual, the primary usage also changes based on a certain event or time of the day. For e.g, when I'm in the office/meeting, I uses the phone PIM software to ensure that I don't miss the next meeting. Once I'm taking my break, or having some personal entertainment time, I would be either watching a movie or listening to mp3. Each panel indicates the primary "theme" of the moment, and so I thought I could create something similiar when I'm in my car.
So there comes the idea of Navigation panel, since I always switch on my Garmin Mobile XT, while making sure that the volume is set to the maximum while my car's handsfree carkit is connected to my pda phone.
The prototype has shaped very well over the long weekend.
1. Garmin Mobile XT is the background application for the panel (could extend to other navigation applications such as TomTom or Mapking)
2. Automatically set the volume to maximum, turn on bluetooth (so that I can connect to my car's handsfree carkit), rotate the screen to landscape mode
3. Toggling panel (i.e. pressing of the panel button) will quit the Garmin application automatically. Quitting Garmin (i.e. pressing the 'X' button in the UI) will switch back to the panel list page (finally found the way to call the panel manager, but would be checking with nelsh to see if there's a better way to manage this)
4. Will automatically revert back to the original volume level, bluetooth mode and orientation once the panel is unloaded.
5. Could have turn on the display brightness to maximum and disable pin-lock, but at this point, I have not done anything since I don't need them yet grin.gif
here's the video clip of the prototype in action

why does it turn on and off bluetooth?

yes, that's the plan, but it means I have to start working on the configuration UI, which I have not done so yet. However, I do need the executable path of Tomtom, and the window name of Tomtom, so if you can provision these information, I can work on it later.

I hope I can release the alpha version this weekend for limited testing. The current panel is alittle flakey, so that's what I'm hoping to resolve in the next few days.

Probably more for my own requirements. I don't need to use bluetooth unless I'm in my car (so that the phone can connect to my BT car kit) In anycase, it doesn't turn off once the panel exits, it merely reset back to the last bluetooth mode prior to the navigation panel activation.
Would be looking at TomTom as well. If you could disable all notifications (maybe allow incoming calls) from poping up, and then return them back to the previous state on exit that would be REALLY useful.
well I'm just suggesting here, but perhaps it will be better if panels are for things that DON'T NEED to be able for multitasking ---> that is multi'panels', like TF3D and others UIs out there; because IMO it is useless if an important application had to be stopped just because we need to see our real today screen regardless what application is that.
so tomtom normaly installs here on german rom:
\programme\navigator\tomtom navigator.exe
window name should be "Tomtom Navigator"
Zenkinz, could you tell me where you got that System Status tweak for Xperia?
I found something called HTC Enlarge Title Bar in an old Kaiser post, but it doesn't seem to do anything on my phone.

it's now available for download btw, see the first post in this thread. You need to select the Navigation software in the panel option UI.

Get the HTC Enlarge Title bar for HTC HD
The panel does nothing here
I installed the cab, softrested the phone and chose the panel. Then I just see the Panel picture and the phone freezes. Not even the power button works, had to remove the battery.
Are there any programs that need to be installed for using the panel?
I use the TomTom Navigator which is installed on the Memory Card.
Update:
Okay, after a few more restarts the panel doesn't cause a crash anymore. But it does not seem to find the TomTom software, so everytime it starts it turns the screen as I wanted and then puts me back to the Today-Panel.
same thing here.... just the navigation panel screen but not going anywhere... I can open up both garmin xt and tomtom in its own program tho

did you guys run the option setting UI? Go to panel manager, select the tool button (at the bottom right corner), then select the nav panel, and click on the 'tool' icon.
Tried this out and the panel loads and the reverts back to my original panel. Does garmin need to be in a specific location for this to work? If so where? and what is the file name the panel is looking for?

It assumes garmin to be in \Garmin directory. Do you have \\Garmin\\Que.exe?
My garmin is on my storage card. and its in "\storage card\garmin\apps\wm\queppc.exe"
Can the location its looking at be changed? Also will it work if its a lnk file?

ok I set it and it does something... then jump back to today panel...
I have the QuePPC file in my storage card\garmin\wm folder and tomtom in my storage card\navigator folder.... neither 1 of them work and they both jump back to today panel
maybe I can try to copy the queppc to garmin and try it again
EDIT: that didnt work =P garmin wont even start XD

[DEV STOPPED] [2009-05-14] mLock v0.3 - passcode device lock

The development of mLock is stopped.
There are different reasons for this decision but the most important one is, that if no time for the further development.
After mPlug, here is my second attempt to build a Windows Mobile application, it's called mLock.
mLock is at the moment only a passcode device lock with no settings except for your own passcode. In the future I will build a settings tool for changing passcodes, show/hide SMS, Email, MMS in passcode screen etc.
Also I try to implement a application lock so that you can define several applications that will be locked by mLock when someone will launch them.
It's very important that you report me every error (maybe with screenshot). That's the only way to make the app bug-free.

No I won't implement a Slide2Unlock Option therefore I recommend you to take S2U2. Maybe I'll add a option to start mLock after S2U2 is unlocked. Let's see what's coming
My suggestions for what it's worth...
1. Lose the iPhone look
2. Bigger buttons to be more finger friendly
3. Option to wipe device after a user specified number of wrong attempts

suggestions
I have been looking for an app that has more extensive security features and asked developers to look at my suggestions, alas no feedback so far! so my suggestions:
1. my phone is for work with staff, work with clients, family for home, and personal. So I would like a pin code access for different purposes.
2. My contacts and my calendars and my tasks are all categorised, so each of these should be visible or invisible depending on the passcode entered. So work is visible at work and all others hidden. All work hidden when at home, failed passcode hides everything, private passcode shows everything (rather advanced and unlikely)
3. I would like contacts and tasks and calendars either negative or possitive categories visible with a particular passcode, eg show with category=X only, and show if category <> Y
4. I would like emails from multi sources (hotmail, gmail, yahoo mail and works push email) AND text messages visible or in visible depending on whether the contact is also visisble or invisible bsed upon there categories
5. Keyword inclusions could also be set to visible or invisible. That is if a text email or diary contact or task contains a particular key word, make invisible
so what I don't want is the public seeing anything at all that just want to look, my staff seeing my private stuff, my clients seeing my private or staff stuff and my family seeing my work stuff.
At this point I go into major freaks and cardiac fits if anybody touches my phone.
So, that should keep you busy for a while!

the hard reset option after several wrong attemps is a nice idea. It will prevent any data theft if the phone is stolen or something...

[Q] Arduino Bluetooth to pass Home Menu Back Buttons

Quick overview of what my plans are. I want to add an external touch screen interface to my android phone (Galaxy S3 in this case). I can get video output via MHL/HDMI to the screen. Hopefully within a month or so this will be out to pass my touch input back to the phone. The biggest problem I currently see is a way to press the home, menu, and back button. I know I could use up some of my screen real estate to enable on screen buttons, but would rather not. This leads me to my main question:
Has anyone used an arduino with a bluetooth shield to control an android phone? So pretty much emulating button presses (home, menu, back) via bluetooth. Most the articles/videos I find on the internet show the opposite of what I want, which would be they control devices from their phone. I do know a little of interfacing devices together, it appears bluetooth is a simple UART interface. I have worked with FPGAs and interfacing them with devices, but nothing wireless before. My arduino and Android app experience is limited, but I have scratched the surface.
If anyone has done something like this could you post the type of arduino shield you used in the process? Also I'm not sure if all the coding would be on the arduino side or if I would need some sort of android app in the background listening to the bluetooth input and redirecting particular inputs to the button press of my choice. What is going through my mind is that headset bluetooth devices usually have the ability to make button presses by bringing up the voice input apps or phone apps, but I suspect those may be pre-enable at the system level.
TLDR: Can I wirelessly press buttons on my android phone with a bluetooth enabled arduino?
yes, it's possible you would have to use it like a Bluetooth keyboard. Off hand I cannot remember the key code, but there is one for home.
Good to hear. I'll post my success or failure once I get the bluetooth module in and get time to tinker.
Progress so far:
First I figured I need to find what the key code is.
I opened up my terminal emulator and was happy to find the command 'showkey' available. Only 'showkey -a' seems to work, the -s and -k options gave me errors. Once I ran the command I was able to get all of my key presses to ouput their key code. But the hardware buttons (home/menu/back/vol up/ vol down) would not register.
Since that was unsuccessful I decided to try the key test that is built into the cwm recovery. This was far more successful. I got the following ouput for my Galaxy S3:
Volume Up = 114
Volume Down = 115
Lock Screen =116
Menu = 139
Home = 172
Just to confirm these can be different from one phone to the next I tested my Droid and a Galaxy Nexus.
Galaxy Nexus:
Volume Up =115
Volume Down =114
Lock Screen =166
For my OG Droid:
Volume Up = 114
Volume Down = 115
Lock Screen = 107
Home/Menu/Back/Search = no output
Thanks to my droid I was able to check if these hardware buttons had direct correlation to the software ascii counterparts. They did not appear to, the hardware buttons for the droid keyboard Started at Q=16 and continued to count by one as I went across the keyboard. (ie Q=16 W=17 E=18...)
On the Arduino Side of things I am working with this hardware:
https://www.olimex.com/Products/Duino/AVR/OLIMEXINO-328/
http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/index.php?title=Bluetooth_Shield
To read the bluetooth data coming in I found Bluetooth SPP in the Google Play store. I like that it allowed to change the view to either hex or ascii data. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.dzs.android.BluetoothSPP&hl=en
I used the 'slave' code listed on the Bluetooth Shield page. For starters I just altered the contents of the if statment that check if the bluetoothSerial is available, which is within the void loop(). Anyways I set the code to just output whatever was input to it to make a simple echo.
Code:
void loop()
{
char recvChar;
while(1){
if(blueToothSerial.available()){//check if there's any data sent from the remote bluetooth shield
recvChar = blueToothSerial.read();
Serial.print(recvChar);
blueToothSerial.print(recvChar);
Later on I made an if statement to output data to my choosing. I had started with blueToothSerial.print, but found even with the BIN/HEX/OCT options it was still outputting ascii. blueToothSerial.write output the raw data that I wanted. So if I put blueToothSerial.write(172) it was going to send the binary equivalent 10101100, or hex equivalent AC.
Code:
void loop()
{
char recvChar;
char m = 'm';
while(1){
if(blueToothSerial.available()){//check if there's any data sent from the remote bluetooth shield
recvChar = blueToothSerial.read();
Serial.print(recvChar);
//blueToothSerial.print(recvChar);
if(recvChar == m){
blueToothSerial.write(172);
}
As expected sending 172 does not just magically show up as a key press and open my menu button. I don't like to overlook the overly simple attempts until they are at least tried. Plus it gave me time to familiarize with arduino.
I can now send whatever data I feel like using arduino, I just need to figure out how to make it appear as a hardware button press. It might be time for me to dig through android source code to understand the bluetooth interaction to the rest of the system.
Small update:
I have since found these articles related to the android system and how it handles Bluetooth and Keyboard input.
What seems the most relavent is a table that contained the key mappings:
HID Usage HID Usage Name LKC Linux Key Code Name Version AKC Android Key Code Name
0x07 0x0065 Keyboard Application 0x007f KEY_COMPOSE 3.0 0x0052 KEYCODE_MENU
Also for the bluetooth I found that bluetooth devices have a class and profile. The class was listed in the app I was using, and the Arduino appears as a Class:0. Which as I have read, can stop it from being compatible with some computers and phones.

This doesn't seem to be an attribute I can change. So I can't simply say, show this Arduino as a keyboard, now send this signal. So it appears I'll need to do a bit more work.
edit:
It looks like Android has an option to allow the device to have specific properties based off a file. So like semi-drivers. It seems I have to just put the file in one of the allotted locations. http://source.android.com/tech/input/input-device-configuration-files.html
Last update for the night:
I found these links. Which is an arduino compatible bluetooth module that supports HID out of the box. HID would allow me to not need to make drivers or custom .idc files. The bluetooth would be recognized as a keyboard right away. I would recommend this path for anyone else as it seems easier.
http://www.kobakant.at/DIY/?p=3310
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10938? and the manual http://dlnmh9ip6v2uc.cloudfront.net/datasheets/Wireless/Bluetooth/RN-HID-User Guidev0 05.pdf
So my current progress is that I still need to find a way to get Android to treat my module as a keyboard. I tried making an .kl with the same name as my bluetooth module. But I don't think the input system recognized bluetooth the same as it does physically connected devices. I wasn't sure of the syntax needed for the idc file to declare the device type to keyboard or HID. I could just try some guess in check.
I haven't put much here for a little while now. I haven't made too much progress. I figured I would start with a simple usb idc files and see if I can get any luck with that, then go with wireless. I have a strange little issue though, my cheap touchscreen I have laying around seems to use a character not normal to ascii. Well it is 00000100 in binary, or the EOT character. Which I cannot save a file with such name. So now I hope to find a way to put a wildcard in the idc file name. If that won't work I'll probably fall back to trying to communicate with the arduino via usb.
Have you been able to make any progress on this? Im working on a similar project, using an arduino uno and a bluesmirf HID module to try and adjust the volume and track of the songs played in a music player on a galaxy tab 2.0. I am not even sure where to begin though. Im still working on getting the android codes for certain hardware/software button pushes. Once I have those though, Im not sure how to get the tab to recognize it as the code for the command instead of just an ascii string.
This is all very confusing.

Hello xCaldazar,
Thanks for sharing your experiences. They are really helpful. Do you have any progress on this project? Could you be able to get touch events (and also key pushes) from your external touchscreen to the Android Phone?

[GUIDE] TLink Hi-DPI Split Mode Android Auto / CarPlay

Thanks to the earlier thread with TLink versions, I updated my TLink to v2.0.12.
I've only tested the below on this version, so its best to grab it from there. Additionally I only have Android, so this is tested on Android Auto only.
It turns out that TLink reads a 'hidden' configuration file in order to initialize a few things. This configuration file allows us to specify both the screen and video parameters.
More importantly for Android Auto, we can also set the pixel density, much like Headunit Reloaded which enables split mode in Android Auto.
An example configuration for my 2000x1200 high resolution TS10 headunit is as follows:
INI:
#channelId
dingwei
#Configuration
AAUTO_DISPLAY_VIDEO_WIDTH=1920
AAUTO_DISPLAY_VIDEO_HEIGHT=1080
AAUTO_DISPLAY_VIDEO_DENSITY=238
#AAUTO_DISPLAY_VIDEO_FPS=25
CARPLAY_FULL_SCREEN_DISPLAY=true
#CARPLAY_IAP_PATH=
CARPLAY_DISPLAY_VIDEO_WIDTH=2000
CARPLAY_DISPLAY_VIDEO_HEIGHT=1200
#CARPLAY_SCREEN_TOUCH_WIDTH=
#CARPLAY_SCREEN_TOUCH_HEIGHT=
#CARPLAY_SCREEN_MM_WIDTH=
#CARPLAY_SCREEN_MM_HEIGHT=
#MPU_STATUS_BAR_HEIGHT=
#SPEEDPLAY_CONFIG_FILE_PATH=
#SPEED_PLAY_MODE_SUPPORT_DEFAULT=
The configuration file should be created at /data/local/tmp/suding/sdcf and should have 777 or a+xrw rights.
I was able to copy the file into the right location using Terminal Emulator for Android, but there may well be better methods.
If you are going the terminal emulator way, type the following commands. This is assuming you placed your sdcf file in your Downloads folder on the headunit.
Bash:
cd /data/local/tmp/suding/
cp /storage/emulated/0/Download/sdcf sdcf
chmod a+xrw sdcf
After this your can start TLink and you should see the changes. If you do not see any changes, TLink was already started and you should probably reboot the headunit.
Looking forward to people testing for the best optimized values or easier ways to update the configuration file.
Great work!

Technically you can put any value you want in the width and height attributes. Although I can't test, and really don't know what Android Auto will do on a vertical layout.
In short TLink tells your phone what the video projection stream attributes are (Android Auto is just a video stream) and your phone then sends this stream.
Worth trying on your vertical display to see what happens.
i have tried with tesla type screen but i couldnt find correct resolution. screen has 768x1024 res but when i set it AA looks awfull. it becomes like compressed from long sides. and icons got bigger.
Can you please put some screenshot of Android Auto after this change?

Bit older photo, because now it switched to the new Coolwalk UI. But after the changes I get Hi-DPI full edge to edge display in Android Auto.
(Note, I had to remove some identifying text on the navigation, so some areas are blurred on purpose).

I have installed the terminal emulator from the playstore.
Created a text file named it sdcf with the content from the example in the post, starting with "ini:", copied it to the download folder and tried the comands.
The cd command failed saying there is no such folder...
Can you please provide a bit more details about how to generate the configuration file and how to copy it to the destination folder?
Can you also please attach your configuration file?

The exact contents of my file are documented in the initial post. I've attached the same sample file here, change the values as needed.
The cd command will fail if you have never ran TLINK before or you are not running the TLINK version as linked above.
This mod not seems compatible with tlink5

I decompiled both the apk's and found the source for dw version is not obfuscated and could find where its loading the config file but the zlink5 source code has been totally obfuscated
All I can do to force AA to work in new UI is to change the resolution of my head unit to 1280x750 or higher with around 180 DPI to make the AA work in split screen mode.

i have fixed the issue.
sdcf file doesnt have any extension.
768x1024 resolution worked with my tlink app.
Icon problem fixed with changing video density to 150.

Great, you are the first to confirm that vertical layouts work. How does it look when AA is in vertical mode?

There is no split mode and if i remember true, there was left bar but it doesnt exist now. i can share photo in future.
Hi @darkvoid,
For this workaround, are you able to pinch zoom google maps while with TLink, compares to Headunit Reloaded? Because in headunit reloaded i able to pinch zoom the area.

I am absolutely new to Android, but since I have installed the android car screen in my old jeep, I just had to deep dive. The app that I have is Tlink but version shows 5.3.01 which is what is called TLink5 (all other forums mentions TLink versions 2.xxx so it is just my guess).
In my case I was using a file manager app to locate the path and file showing at the beginning of the thread. I have used my TS18 screen with this version of TLink for wireless CarPlay but the problem is that Waze maps show huge (everything in general looks too big, like the icons for CarPlay apps, etc). There are just 4 columns instead of 5, so other than the screen size, how do u setup this TLink in terms of screen size? What other parameters could I adjust? Thanks...

Have you been able to pinch and make it smaller (Waze or Google Maps)?
Thanks
Thank you so much @darkvoid this has changed my head unit experience so much!
Unfortunately, the pinch to zoom isn't working for me.
I got the code change to work on my TS10.1.1 HDPI 360 head unit running T-Link 2.0.12
I fiddled a bit with the settings that you provided.
Tried changing the AA resolution to the natural resolution of the screen 2000x1200, but that failed! I now know AA can only go up to 1920x1080 (so note for anyone else looking at that)
The only thing I ended up changing was AAUTO_DISPLAY_VIDEO_DENSITY=200
this made it so things appear smaller on the screen - more to my liking but to each their own I have a 10.5 inch screen
SMALLER NUMBER = Smaller text/Image (high res looking)
LARGER NUMBER = Enlarged text/image (low res looking) - if you go too high you lose the side panel
here are some screenshots of what it looks like for me still waiting on Coolwalk to roll out, hopefully it's soon.
I'm in a right-hand drive country so the side panel is on the left.
With Waze - No map on the side when other app is set to main.
With Google Maps - it shows the map on the side panel
.

Great to hear its working. You are indeed correct that the AA standard (as well as the TLINK code) supports a maximum resolution of 1920x1080. Any value beyond that is ignored.
I have exposed all the values that I found in the config file that I supplied, both Android and iPhone. Nothing related to pinch to zoom functionality that I could see.
I'll test pinch to zoom on my radio today in both Google Maps and Waze and report back.

Rotatable UIS7862A 10.1" 3 + 32 GB Head Unit 1 DIN ( Hizpo S3 )

Hi everybody,
I bought this unit on aliexpress, can't find any info about it.
Here's some specs from various hw info apps:
CPU UIS7862A - Unisoc ums512
RAM 3GB - ROM 32 GB
OS : Named 12 on seller's site ( fake ) -- Real Android 10 - API 29
Screen 1280x720 (QLED?) Rotatable ( but no android option to rotate to vertical view )
BT : 4.2 Only for Call/music/Torque... playback, no android manageable
Output : 4x45W ( TDA 7388 )
FM chip : TSC4745
DSP : 48 EQ + Surround ( The chip on the MB is a BD37033F RHOM )
4G modem + Sim holder
Rear camera input ( not tested yet )
Aux output/input ( 2 ch )
Known codes ( until now ) :
Factory Menu Settings : 8888
Factory reset : 22558800
Toppal voice assistant : Basic version, I did not use it yet, but seems to be quite limited in this version
On the upper part of the chassis a sticker with the 3SYT003 print
Android seems to be heavily customized, for example you can't enable USB Debug, the status bar is far to be standard ( se pics ) and so on.
The rotatable screen is a good idea but this is not managed at all from the OS, so if you turn the screen its view doesn't rotate with ( so it's unuseful.... ).
I'd like to make a dump but there's no way to enable USB Debug/Developer option, if you tap several time on the Build Number nothing happens and
a terminal emulator session give a permission denied error on the su executable so it's impossible at the moment to make a file system dump.
The HW doesn't seems so bad a, but it can be really more usable if the screen rotation would be managed correctly ( any play store rotation app does not work properly BTW ) and if the user interface could be standardized ( see status bar and others.. )
Even the DSP seems to be quite good ( I did not test in the car yet ) even if the chip is the Rhom BD37033F that is not the best of breed AFAIK which datasheet states a "3-band parametric equalizer".... Anyway it has 48 band parametric adjustable bands , 4 single channels adjustable surround, loudness, bass filters.... Probably the OS make a lot of work in Signal processing.
See attached picture to know what i mean.
Anybody has the same unit? Any other info about this unit?
Is an alternative firmware available?
This unit is NOT a FYT familiy's type ( checked with HWGetInfo ).
Aida64 recognizes it as a "ROCO K706" Board. I did not find any infos about this in the web.
On 4pda I found a similar unit ( Mustmax based on SC9863a SoC ) but even if the OS screenshots seem to be the same, there are quite a lot of HW differences ( ie bu32107 vs BD37033F ... )
I asked the seller for a new firmware, they sent me a link where to find an update.zip and mcu.bin file, but i'd like to have more infos about this unit and to have a full backup dump before install it. Funniest part the seller told me "Hi friend. The display is fixed, and you cannot freely switch between landscape and portrait screens." Chinese vendors are amazing, keeping in mind i bought 2 months ago another unit ( with a 4 core SOC and a XYAUTO FW ) from another seller that has a button on the status bar allowing the android screen to be rotated....
Finally I think the HW seems to be quite good but the SW could be improved.
Pls share your experiences/toughts/opinions.
Thanks

Hi, try 114477 as factory code than there will pop up a chinese message which says you're developer now. Than go back to the system info and tap on the version number several times (the usual way to get in developer mode)
I have the same unit just with 8/128GB. Let me know if you get any more info. Until now i wasn't able to establish an adb connection over usb. Also it would be great to know how to get root access.
best regards
Hi, after spending several days in study this unit i decided to return this unit to the seller.
In my unit ( 3Gb + 32 ) i found that DSP features, like delay and tone enhancement, did not work at all ( only the EQ did finction ). Probably the DSP chip is very limited and the software can't do all these sound shaping. PRobably your unit has a different DSP chip.
Another big issue was due to the fact that when turning the phisical screen vertical the android screen stayed in landscape mode ( half the screen ) with no manual way to turn it right . This was very annoyng to me, note that I have another unit with a different brand where you can touch an icon and the logical screen rotates.
Finally i asked the vendor ( aliexpress ) to get it back, now i wait for the shipping of a similar unit of another vendor which seems to have different specs ( only the CPU is the same ), it should be different alsi in terms of community support - will see..
So i can't try the developer mode, but my goal was to make a full backup first ( using dd or whatever else.. ), clearly root should be quite challenging: I suggest to install magisk and patch the boot.img, after that there should be a way to write it back to the unit ( don't know exactly how to manage, probably you should check this out in other forums... ) this way should get the root enabled.
I was rather deceived by this unit, hope that your does not have these issue and you can enjoy it fully.
Bye
Hello, I have the same unit. Im not an expert. But normaly always find my way. But this time Im not happy with the start Launcher. and I cant find a way to change it for good.
Always switched back to the old one. Any Ideas how to change the launcher. Or install a new software? Cheers from Hamburg Germany

I had the same issue on mine. Until the vendor gave me links to download the latest firmware.
The annoying thing on the old firmware is that all my settings would revert to default after a reboot. With the new firmware, only the screen brightness and volume level does. Everything else stays.

The above links were the files I updated my unit with.
Now I am able to use a different launcher and it will stay after reboots.
