LineageOS for Galaxy Note 3_N900_3G_India? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am new to the world of custom ROMs and never did this. My Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (India version, 3G, model SM N900, SSN: N900GSMH, Baseband version: N900DDUEBPF1, Software version: N900XXSEBPL3/N900ODDEBPF1/N900DDUEBPF1). I have few basic queries:-
How do I know exact model, processor, etc details of my Note 3? Since I purchased in India and that time India only had 3G phones (not LTE), so assuming its 3G only model and Exynos (but how to validate its Exynos or Snapdragon?). Inside phone after removing battery shows above model nos
After installing a LineageOS ROM, will my phone stop receiving OS upgrades? Will I have access to play store apps which can be directly downloaded or need some workaround to download apps (my usage is regular apps like whatsapp, gdrive, youtube, chrome, etc)? If workaround needed for apps, would those apps get automatic updates or always require manual install?
Which ROM is suitable for my model? Mine is currently Android version 5.0 which is quite old. I am ok with any STABLE version above 5.0 If I get Android 8/9/10, I would feel myself very lucky
Please help.

Debloated lite rom for Samsung Galaxy S5.

Good Day. I recently bought a Samsung galaxy s5. I find that the battery drain is still pretty high, comparable to my old s3. I'd like to find a rom which is similar to stock, but has ONLY the essential apps necessary to make the Operating System work. I believe you call it a "lite" rom. Could you please point me to a post/thread with a rom which fit those requirements? Also, if it is not too much, instructions on how to root my phone etc.
My Phone's information is as follows:
Stock Android
Model Number - SM-G900W8
Android Version - 5.1.1
Baseband Version - G900W8VLU1COI4
Build Number - LMY47X.G900W8VLU1COI4

Question about converting model from sm-n900k to sm-n9005

1. Is it okay if i just dont root the device sm-n900k and just flash the sm-n9005 firmware from sammobile? I just want to try and change firmware because i can't update the version, still stucked at 4.4.2 having some problems with signal, korean apps and the shutter sound of the camera.
Thank you
Personally, I would not try it as it may brick the phone. The 900k uses a Samsung Exynos processor and the n9005 uses a Qualcomm.
http://www.imei.info/phonedatabase/14281-samsung-n900k-galaxy-note-3/
Are there any other site except sammobile that offers firmware? I just want to update my phone to lollipop version but i am also scared to unlock the bootloader because i cant find a guide and btw im not sure if the bootloader is locked or maybe i just can't find a compatible custom recovery for my phone
Traditionally Korean model has had slightly different hardware making them incompatible with international variants (TV antenna for example on the S1/S2). However, at least from forum posts here N9005 custom ROM should work fine, as long as you keep your old modem.
Although, there should be an official 5.0.1 ROM around with a GOF2 ending, considering the existence of a Lollipop bootloader for it. Have you tried just plugging it into Kies and check for update?
(If you want to give it a shot, here is the baseband + bootloader: https://mega.nz/#F!0MNyVboS!XpjPYizNyY7LPZdsepyTFw . Flash this then a 5.0 custom ROM and you should be good to go)
@audit13 N900K is Snapdragon. Exynos doesn't have LTE, but all Korean model has LTE (different bands for different networks though)
@thebulletfromhell, I am not familiar with the n900k and I based my information on the link in my post above yours. I looked at several site and they specifically mention the Exynos. This one also mentions LTE: http://welectronics.com/gsm/Samsung/SAMSUNG-SM-N900K-GALAXY-NOTE-3-4G-LTE-BLACK.HTML
I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Thank you for the information.
I saw that too, but it was the only site that mentioned it, so I looked further. Info on Korean models are pretty rare in English, as the hardware for the most part is incompatible with Network Bands in the English speaking part of the world, making grey import iffy, and thus no reason to write about them.

New S7 Edge user - Multiple Questions

Hi,
A friend recently sold me their S7 Edge which they say was purchased from Hong Kong (I now live in the Philippines).
Before we begin, here are the specs:
Model Number : SM-G9350
Hardware Version : REV0.7
Android Version: 6.0.1
Baseband Version: G9350ZCU2APH1
Kernel Version: 3.18.20-8875708
Build Number : MMB29M.G9350ZCU2APH1
KNOX Version : 2.6
I have a few questions about how I should go about and set up the device.
1. My research shows that this is running qualcomm and not exynos. Can someone confirm this?
2. Why don't I have a play store app? I checked app manager but did not find it.
3. Why can't I check for updates?
4. The 4g symbol stays on my status bar even though I have mobile data turned off.. is this normal?
5. Is there a firmware from another country that I can flash to the phone to make it better?
Thank you for reading and for replying if you do.
Basically the Hong Kong version is qualcomm (snapdragon version).
It is the G950Z version which is uncommon and there are a very few developers for.
The bootloader is locked and I do not believe play store is available in Hong Kong.
here is that you can flash that may contain play store and is compatible with your device.
[Rom/Kernel/TWRP] SM-G9350 HKROM Nougat (05/26/17)
if you choose to flash the rom, it will break knox and invalidate any warranty.
Please read and understand the developer's instructions before flashing. If a mistake is made, your device may be damaged beyond repair.

Thanks for the information.
I'm a bit hesitant with flashing it because at the beginning of the thread, it says This is for SM-G9350 Galaxy S7 Edge DUOS.
The phone that I have looks like it's not the DUOS version.
It only has one slot for the sim card and it does not have DUOS printed on the back of the case.

Frankenstein device

Hello everyone
I had Note 4 with Exynos chipset (N910C) with no brand (European version).
After some issues with LTE connections and SIM card recognition I have bought used N910F motherboard and installed in my device.
First boot shows that motherboard is from Italy device with Wind operator applications installed.
Next I flashed device but forgot to record IMEI, modem version and bootloader version.
I have restored device using Samsung Kies and during restore process Kies reported device as:
PDA: QG3
CSC: QG1
PHONE: QA1
After restore system setting shows:
Model: N910F
Modem: N910FXXS1DQA1
Version number: MMB29M.N910FXXU1DQG3
1) Now I have a problem: should I use TRLTE roms or TRLTEXX?
When I put "Note 4" in TWRP website search it suggest "Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Qualcomm (trlte)" - so it is TRLTE device?
On the other hand most of N910F images are tagged as TRLTEXX.
2) Can I mix TRLTE TWRP with TRLTEXX ROM image (and vice versa) or they should always match?
3) I have tested few roms and faced problems with not working camera. I know that latest official Android version for Note 4 was Android 6.1
and most roms (RR, Lineage) are based on Android 7.1 If this is the reason of problems? Because official Samsung kernel with working camera
supports Android up to version 6.1 and customs kernel used in 7.1 have some camera issues?
4) What is the relation between kernel version and Android versions? Its like Android 6.1 requires kernel 3.x.x and Android 7.1 requires for example versions never than 4.x.x etc?
I will be thankful for answers to my questions. I know that they may be naive for experienced users but I try to good understand the process,
rather than blind flash roms until device will work.
Your device is basically n910f now. You should use twrp and roms for n910f
Your camera is nonfunctional because Exynos based units use Samsung's ISOCELL modules, and Snapdragon devices use Sony's image sensors. Your network connectivity should be gone as well for that reason.

Ok, but still, if it is TRLTE or TRLTEXX because both tags comes with N910F roms.

By network connectivity You mean that antena design is also different and will cause signal loss?
I forgot to mention that I have also switched front and back camera to used ones from N910F.
From original N910C only body, USB port and scrren left.

Precisely. If you replaced those too, you should have no issues
Questions 1 and 2: Both use Snapdragon chips. Trltexx is the unlocked international N910F, while the other one is usually sold by carriers (T-mobile, AT&T and the likes). You should be able to mix 'em with no issues.
3: To get devices working on non-OEM firmwares without direct support from official drivers, developers write bundles of code called SHIMs. The camera is one such device, and because in most cases the driver is based on the manufacturer's own proprietary code, it's usually with blood and tears that our dear devs are able to get everything working even as it is. That's why you may face almost-working equipment with AOSP ROMs. You can read more about SHIMs here.
4: "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" applies here. There's no direct correlation between Android versions and which kernel versions they use, and manufacturers are sometimes slow to move to a higher version number because of how little meaningful improvements it brings. Recently, Google has mandated that all devices shipping with a SoC manufactured in 2017 or later must come with kernel version 4.4
Hope this clears things up. Anyone is welcome to correct if anything I've said is in the slightest incorrect.
Cheers,

S10+ G9750 Can Change Firmware To English?

Which Firmware Can I Flash For G9750 Model S10 Plus? English Version
You've asked the question I was thinking about asking, but not sure where to put or ask it.
I'm considering buying a new S10+ (G9750) from Wonda Mobile as it's so much cheaper than in the UK, but you also get the slightly better performing device.
So I'm hoping by bumping this thread we might get an answer.
Hi,
there are only two firmwares available for the S10 plus SM-G9750 version april 2019:
- One from China with usless chinese stuff and no Google stuff intended for chinese users: Version: G9750ZCU1ASD4 (ZCU is the chinese version code and CSC is CHC).
- The other one from Hong Kong with Google stuff and intended for international users (Much more langages available at start-up but the very first one will be chinese when the cell phone starts after a factory restet) Version: G9750ZHU1ASD4 (Be sure to have ZHU in the code and CSC is TGY)
So for international users, the only option will be the ZHU firmware version and if you buy it from Canada or England for exemple, sellers are supposed to ship you the Hong-Kong version.
I'm from Canada, I bought it in Canaba and I have tested both firmwares with Magisk.
By the way, you are welcome.
I've just created an account to thank you for the info! I was about to flash mine to the Chinese version thinking it was better!!!!

As I said above : No Google stuff.
I would like to inform you that with the Chinese firmware, the phone doesn't behave normally: None of the app runs in background so you have to modify that in the settings. if not none of the widgets will work for example.
Samsung pay is pre-installed and there is an annoying white bar at the bottom of the phone (in the navigation bar). you can get rid of it with titanium backup.
As I said, if you are not Chinese, don't use this firmware. If you want to install it, you'll have to download the play store apk.
Does the white bar appear on just the Chinese version or both HK and Chinese versions?
TIA

Just the Chinese version.
Note that you can easily swap between two versions of the firmware, so it doesn't really matter which one the phone is shipped with if buying from Ebay or similar.
And just to echo @oceliome's post — G9750 is a dual-sim version with Snapdragon processor (as opposed to Exynos for dual-sim versions in Europe and elsewhere), so you cannot flash firmware from other dual-sim versions of G975FD.
Almost two months and no updates. It's really unbelievable.
Well from what I am reading here, I'm not going to be buying a new S10 series phone.
I'm not going to buy an inferior Exynos powered one and I'm not prepared to buy a Snapdragon one either which doesn't work with Google Pay or PayPal with 100% reliability and now seemingly isn't receiving any firmware updates.
I've also received reports from my friends that there are significant issues with the Bluetooth connectivity to VW/Audi group cars infotainment systems which seem to prevent you making and taking handsfree phone calls and using Android Auto as well.
I'll be watching the market for something else which meets my requirements.

Hi. I am planning to buy g9750 from expansys and I'm in UAE. Will I be affected in any of the software issues or network issue or something? Need your expert suggestions since you are using one.
Can I change my S10 plus version from G9750ZCU2ASG7 (China) to G9750ZHU2ASG7(Hong Ko
Hi I bought an S10 plus from China with no Google apps. I manually downloaded it but I want Google apps installed as system apps because I'm having issues with my Google assistant. Can I change my Chinese version to Hong Kong version because they are similar if I'm not mistaken. The reason I want to do this so that I can get Google apps preinstalled as system apps.
If I can do this, how do I do it and also do I lose my data on my phone? Also will Google apps now be system apps on my phone.
Thanks in advance.

Reckon the firmware is interchangeable because the same hardware on both variants, I have G9750 (the China mainland one) myself and use Google's bells and whistles but not so much of the Google assistant though (currently located in China mainland) can't be all the time connected to the VPN

The latest firmware for Hong Kong devices (CSC TGY) has English Language Support, all that needs to be done is change the language in settings after startup. You'll have access to Google Playstore, Samsung Pay and many other apps. It also lacks the bloatware associated with carrier branded devices and the bootloader is unlocked which allows you to root the device.
