Hi, just curious, has anyone found a way to completely remove the white ugly Dual SIM selector which is persistent in notification area whenever two sims are inserted in H990DS Stock Oreo ROM? I've tried googling for the solution and tried using the System UI Tuner, but still no luck. If anyone has tried and successfully removed it, would you please share it to the world
Thanks!

Hey there!
I try to keep it short. I have no network service (the sim is working in other phones). There is sometimes a "stop" like symbol in the top bar or an exclamation mark saying "no chosen network available". However, emergency calls should be possible (phone got network access).
I bought the phone, so it's used and that "problem" was known. I thought I could fix it. I tried the following:
Rooting and RegionLockAway.
Flashing new Firmware (I9505XXUHOA7)
Flashing the ME2 modem and trying to SIM-Unlock it. However I get an popup "error" after pressing NV-Rebuild (it stated Golden Backup exists) and then the phone immediately reboots.
SIM detection seems to work (asks for PIN and notifies on empty sim)
The IMEI is there.
If I try to choose networks it gets a list with EPlus, T-Mobile and Vodafone (I am currently in Germany). Unfortunately I do not know where the phone's from.
Also, I never experienced any popups asking for unlock codes or similar - it is just not able to register on the network.
How can I make sure theres no SIM Lock?
How can I make sure theres no Netlock?
After those two are clear what else could be done? What about NVData?
Anyone any ideas? Thanks!
I can post some infos from the service/UMTS menu, however I am not sure which. I also searched and tried hours but without success.
Replace the SIM card tray. From appearances yours is dying.
Thanks for the reply. Can I test this somehow? I am just wondering since it asks for SIM-PIN and even reads APN data etc. I just searched and it is about 10 bucks on ebay and I should be able to do it at home that would be cool. So since it is detecting my SIM can I test somehow whether there could be other problems causing this problem bevore I try to replace that sim-slot?
Thank you!
By the way: Yesterday I also tried to repair NVData with the SamsungUnlock software as posted somewhere here. While that worked without a problem it did not change anything.
To sim unlock the phone, you could try flashing the 4.2.2 modem, rooting, and using regionlockaway.

I wish there was a way to test it. I only knew mine was bad by sheer luck. Mine revealed itself only after flashing an Android 4.2.2 stock ROM; more current versions didn't show anything.
Could there be a loose connection inside the phone?
Where it is a known issue, there is a possibility that the original owner replaced the SIM tray. When they did, they likely forgot to reuse the foam pad from the top of the connector on the old tray. If that pad is missing the connector will pop up in time.
hey thanks for your help!
I will open the phone and check the connector of the SIM-Tray. But as I already described, it even asks me for the SIM-Pin, but maybe even though something might not be right.
Regarding flashing an 4.4.2 Modem: Is that the "9505_DXUAME2_MODEM.rar"? If, I tried that already (installed that modem, rooted, RegionLockAway and even with the Serive Menu SHA256 OFF method (this one did not work since I got an Error and the phone did not freeze etc.). However, I did not install a full 4.4.2. Stock Rom yet.
Well maybe I could buy a SIM Tray and just connect the PIN without acutally gluing it on the phone. This way I might be able to get a refund if this does not do the trick.
If all these fail I just have to find some new use for that phone
You cannot use an Android 4.4.2 modem or ROM to unlock. The modem or ROM MUST be from Android 4.2.2 or RegionLock Away will not work.
Regarding the SIM tray, foam mounting tape from the local store on top of the connector will work. No need of glue.
Hello Friends , I have OnePlus 2 ( oxygen OS 3.6.1) with JIO on my 1st sim slot . Many times the VOLTE icons disappears from the status bar although the signal is full on the sim and the data is working .After VOLTE icons disappears I cant make any call from the sim and I dont have any other choice than disabling the sim card and re enabling it to bring the VOLTE back which is quite frustrating . Any help on this ?
Try resetting the network settings within your sim card menu. Revert if issue persists.
Hey I already tried network resetting but nothing works
perhaps reflashing the modem firmware file of 3.6.0 or 3.6.1 will solve your issue. Link is in the lineage OS 15 thread. Search for the keywords you'll get it. If you don't I'll link.
Hey send link didn't find it plz

I am also facing this issue recently.
I Tried reflashing the OS to 3.6.0 and 3.5.6 but same issue still persists. I cleaned Data and cache too.
(Jio VOLTE is now only working in SIM1 slot. Previously it used to work in SIM2 slot too. Even after flashing to older OS, facing same issue)
No success yet.

Is your problem solved? Coz I m facing the same issue for a while now.
Even I'm facing the same issue?
I have to remove and reinsert sim every 1-2 hours to get volte back
I wonder if there is a 8.1 Rom out there, which is able to switch a single sim card off? omni for example wasn't working. Does anyone know?
You can switch of a sim card in every rom?
Hi, I've had some issues with SIM cards in my Mi A1.
I've tried rebooting and I've tried both SIM slots, but neither of them are detected. "No SIM card - No Service" shows at the top of the screen. There's nothing wrong with the SIM itself, it works fine in my old phone (a Redmi Note 3) so I'm not sure what to do now. Everything worked fine yesterday and I haven't dropped it, splashed it with water or anything since then.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
hello brother please imei number check
hey
I'm having the same issue. How do you fixed it?
Thanks
I had this issue too, try restarting the device 2 or 3 times. If it doesn't work, try doing a factory reset.
was anyone able to fix their SIM issue?
my Mi A1 received an OTA update last month and the "SIM card not detected" msg
when I check my Network Settings, the menu options are all greyed out and i can't do anything with it
i've tried flashing many different versions of stock/custom ROMs
i've tried a variety of different SIM providers (Rogers, Koodo, Fido, etc)
i've even flashed a few modem versions to see if it would fix the signal (cuz that's how i used to fix my SGS2)
but nothing works... it's behaving as if there isn't a SIM card inserted at all
...which is leading me to believe that this could be a hardware failure
anyone with suggestions on how i can fix this? cuz otherwise, it's a great device... it runs AOSPExtended like a champ
thanks in advance
Hi All,
I rooted my H990N yesterday successfully. After rooting i noticed the second sim i signal bar icon is greyed out. The first sim is working. There is a circle on top of Second sim signal bar like its searching for network. After that, i unrooted the phone and flashed the same KDZ again using LGUP. Both sims were working fine with unroot. Tried this three times and all the times, with root the second sim is searching for network. How can I fix this? Please help

I have the same problem, I tried the solution you recommended, but unfortunately it didn't work.
Is there any other possible solution for this problem?
