Hello, does the camera work in marshmallow? I just flashed one ROM but the camera does not work, it just crash......can someone please suggest me a mm ROM with working camera?
Thank you very much
I think Beanstalk's camera works.
It should work an almost all MM roms. If it's not working, it's most likely a permission issue. Go to app settings and enable all permissions for the camera app, after that the camera should work out of the box.
Install the Google camera app 2.5
The older camera 2.0 doesn't work at all in MM.
I use this camera app called (Camera M)

Self comment: I did some tests and had initial problems with this camera, maybe due to dirty OS update. In particular the camera app just terminated whenever I touched the trigger. After opening the settings and changing some of them the camera worked well.
Well in the end i had to go back to KitKat.....used parrotmod, fstrim on marshmallow....nothing worked to fix the terrible lag that i was having, even after trying many mm roms the situation was terribly worse then KK.....now the tablet is pretty smooth again on Slimkat full f2fs + fstrim....best combo for speed

HI,
i'm on the lastest Nitrogen Os rom. The rom is fantastic, despite the camera that act weird and it's too much instable (i have those problem on all Nougat Roms).
I found a Workaround to fix flash and camera derps (green\black photos).
Camera hal2 derps:
Derp1
Derp2
Roms with stablest camera i've tested: NitrogenOs, Dirty Unicors, Caf Aosp, CitrusCaf.
First, download (or buy) Snap Camera HDR Trial from playstore. Than go to:
-settings
-other
-scroll down to use camera2 API, tap and select force hal1 (if you can't, download a previous Snap Camera version, like 8.2.6)
-reboot
-done
UPDATE:
SNAPCAMERA HAL2 by @Shaky156 (Tested on Dirty Unicorns 7.1 by @poad42, if you try to other roms feel free to say if it works or not).
Use this camera if you want to avoid camera hal1. To avoid Camera switch crash, wait until focus finish. Expect more app crashes.

FOR VIDEOS:
-FOOTEJ CAMERA
FLASH FIX
FLASH FIX UPDATED
(tx to @hichaam, @Umang96)
This will fix camera in Nougat Roms?
-No\Yes. Only updated camera blobs can hard fix. But camera is STABLE now with hal1.
So why i should do that?
-If you make photos, this fix green screen and flash problems. But kills video in snap camera.
-For my phone, this is a STABLE way to make photos, as i like to shot pics with it.
Also expect some crash when opening to much camera apps. <--- fixed in last NitrogenOS
This is a workaround, we can't do nothing until xiaomi relases Android 7.0, or some other brand with sk5p3 camera sensor ( Ulefone Future, Samsung C series, Vernee Apollo Lite) do.
PS a copy of my post in other trhead:
CAMERA FLASH\RANDOM REBOOTS FIX:
-INSTALL NITROGEN OS (MAYBE WORK IN OTHER ROMS, BUT I VE TRIED IT ON NITROGEN, SO..)
-DOWNLOAD SNAP CAMERA HDR
-ENABLE IN SETTINGS FORCE HAL1
-REBOOT APP
-ENJOY YOUR FULLY FUNCTONIG CAMERA
FOR VIDEO:
-DOWNLOAD FOOTEJ CAMERA
-MAKE VIDEO
-- don't make videos with snapcamera because won't work.
Its important for you (until you answer to me: camera is working dude, even with api2.0 blablalba) that api2.0 are INSTABLE. They work for limited times, and 80% of times you get no flash, no manual ISO, reboots etc. Camera HAL1 will make our camera STABLE again, with flash synced in EVERY photos you makes. Only Videos won't work with HAL1 in Snap Camera HDR.
Also in snap camera you will find some interesting goodies for our crappy cameraphone. Its important that you will enable:
-ZERO STUTTER LAG (your device will capture the image at over9000 speedo)
-LENS SHADING (it gives better image quality in borders)
-MEMORY COLOR ENCHANE (better colors)
-DENOISE (remove the exagerate noise of our thin sensor)
-Sharpness -2 (remove the exagerate noise of our thin sensor)
So yes.. try it, for me its working for 2 weeks now.
Tx

Try to make multiple photos with flash. You will notice that camera can't sync it, or it will not start at all. Even with Footej camera i have Weird green screen, like many others.
I just tried in the dark room with flash on and auto focus on with footej and did about 20 shots, always worked...guess im lucky...but on all other ROMs it did not work or recording failed...

Flash in N roms works 70% of times first time u open camera (even less sometimes). It's a common problem of all roms because camera sources. This is the method to assure 100% working flash\camera with all tryng. Its normal that if you take 2 photos here and there, you will notice nothing. I take 40-50 photos a week with this phone (even more), so i need stable camera. And i can assure you that this is the only method that works until now with nougat.

Hi guys,
So I have Google camera installed and works smooth while taking pictures compare to the stock camera.
But I have a question here in the comparison of both.
Attached is the comparison collage for same shot on stock camera and Google camera. In the Google camera, for the sky, it creates the color using dots which are clearly visible when I zoom in. And it is something which is bothering me.
Can anyone here tell me, if I am using some wrong settings or it is there in every setting?
I have the dots also, didn't find what's causing them, but version 5.0.009 gives me much less dots, so try to find that version and see if it helps.

I have tried several different Gcam versions, types and configurations and all of them had this behavior with HDR engine activated. Gcam might need additional fix for our phone :-\

Nope, still the same problem. It's extremely easy to replicate, just take HDR photo of Kinder surprise yellow egg (or anything similar). It will show dotted pattern no matter what. The same pattern is visible on light uniform color (sky, wall,..).
_mysiak_: i try it now and i have same problem :/ ...but i must zoom in this photo, otherwise I can not see dots

I see it too. I switched back to MGC_5.1.018_7.0+c2API_Min_2a_AllInOne (December 12) and it does'nt appear to have this problem. I was on 3a and it had this problem. I'm using the Pixel setting (Marlin + Taimen) as device, with Pixel auto HDR+ and ZSL enabled.

Just tried it and even this version failed my yellow test, pattern still visible.

Try these settings and app version from a photographer using our phone.
Just tried the photographer config and I can still see the dotted pattern.
My hope is that Xiaomi can upgrade the camera with android O update next week (and add image stabilization)

You are right, pattern is not visible, but also output of HDR+ isn't so good :\ I would even say that's it's pretty much on the same level as stock camera app.
I have tried almost all versions and settings combinations and it seems that we either have amazing HDR mode with strange pattern or HDR with low details and no mysterious pattern.
Try 3.5 BSG version. I've tried the AllinOne_Full_Manual 3.5 version and it doesn't appear to have the blocks. Using the same test subject, and I noticed that all versions from current all the way back to 1.2 have this flaw. I am working my way up on the versions, got to 3.7 and 4.0 but I can't get HDR to actually process.
Just reporting in that a modified Camera NX, which ports the Pixel 2's portrait mode, is working on my Le Max 2 running the Lineage OS 14.1 (23rd Dec nightly). I have the stock LOS cam and another GCam also installed.
It has been modified to work on nougat devices. Link to the original comment and apk is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75044279&postcount=2251
Portrait mode looks amazing. Works only on the back camera though. I didn't make any modifications to the app. It worked right out of the box.
Video recording doesn't work.
For me it fully works on AICP 13.1 (Oreo 8.1). Portait mode is awesome.

That's nice! With Oreo it's working on both, the front and back cameras.
We need to keep tabs on development for Nougat ROM's. Only thing missing is the portrait mode on the front and ARcore+ARstickers support (not 100% sure about this).
I'm really hesitant to switch to an Oreo ROM right now because of stability issues.
For Nougat. Tested on Omni 7.1.2...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/camera-nx-nougat-devices-t3729325
Not the front camera though. Right?
On acip 13.1 build 030118 it's a little bugg, frontcam portrait mode works but I have a green overlay on the pictures... Any solution for this?
Wich config do u use for it?
I can confirm the green tint problem in nougat too (LOS 14.1).
The file I'm using is called GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.3-Front-HDR+.APK

Ok, I admit I did not check front camera (as I never use it) and on AICP 13.1 there is some problem with green tint and stability of the app.
The rear camera is ok, the bokeh looks nice.

Yeah, I'm using that on ACIP Oreo and there is a definite green tint on the front camera portrait pics. Shame, as they are very good otherwise but the only thing you can do to make them usable is apply a B&W filter. Back camera works well.
I have tried most of these Google Camera Portrait apks and always when I try it take a portrait picture the app always renders is as a HDR photo, is there any fix and is anyone else getting the same problem, I have tried AICP 8.1 and Nougat ROMS but I am having no luck at all.

I also have green tint on main/rear camera and can't solve the problem for over a month.
All OREOs more or less with all Gcam mods + EUI6.0 have green tint.
Only Android 6.0.1 and Mokee 7.1.2 take pictures without green tint.
GoogleCamera-Pixel3Mod-Arnova8G2-V3.apk has no green tinting... ?

I've been looking for a couple of weeks now and have used quite a few different apks but they all have the same problem.
After taking a picture, the picture shows up in the thumbnail in the bottom right but will not appear in the gallery or Google photos.
They seem to be corrupting when processing HDR and either show up as plain grey or delete themselves.
I've tried clear App Data / Storage as well as different configs but no success
Any working APKS would be appreciated!

Unfortunately still not success.
I'm starting to think its not a problem with GCAM, rather than with my phone. Not 100% sure what exactly it could be since the stock camera still works fine but yeah.
Maybe use a file explorer and make sure all the "old" data from other gcams is gone. Then start fresh,if you know what I'm saying.
Uninstall any other Gcams.

Glad you been actively trying solutions, like hunting up old files and deleting them.
Try switching HDR through its different On-Off-+ options and see if that matters.
In the settings, make sure camera API 2 is enabled.
Also erase camera data so you can tell which gallery to use, else erase the defaults for your galleries and start cam to see which gallery it uses.
Try all the different gcams one at a time from the celsoazevedo list of arnovag2's cams starting with the newest:

Yes indeed I do. In fact I wrote an update on this subject which I'll post on majzel.blogspot.com on Monday December 23rd. (My original article on gcam was https://majzel.blogspot.com/2019/11/what-i-learnt-about-google-camera.html )
In short XDA seems not to be the forum for Gcam porting. You have to join Telegram and then select the channel relating to 6 and 6T porting.
From there is a set of ports with results and recommendations. To cut to the chase right now, as of dec 20 2019, time 00.01, assuming that you raised your Oneplus 6T to Oxygen OS 10.3.0 (use Oxygen Updater from Play store and install stable not beta)
THEN I'd recommend
use MJL Minikon 2.3-fix3
or Simplecam 4.0.191030.1140-7.0.009
Of course nothing will work right unless you also download and then load your .xml configuration file. Right now on Simplecam I'm using Frctl and on MJL I am using Leica
I've experienced exactly the issues that plague you i.e. takes a photo, but somewhere in processing it hangs, or is not saved. These and other peculiarities are well reported on Telegram

What @amouses seems the best idea.
Find a way to get Telegram and you'll find the in-depth knowledge.
You sure are determined--trying EVERY camera in the list!
Let's get back to some basics--are you running stock?
If not maybe you gotta drop back and see if a camera works.
Got any other mods going on--gotta dump them all temporarily.
At this point, I say back up your important personal data--photos, etc., factory reset your phone, flash latest stock, start off completely fresh, don't install apps or anything until you've tested the most likely working camera.
Take it from there.
Good luck.
Season's Greetings.

Yeah, I was sure one would work, unfortunately not.
I'm running everything stock, with 0 mods on anything, OOS has come far enough for me not to need to root anymore to be honest.
I've been having a few minor bugs and a little lag in chrome once in a while so maybe the upgrade from 9 to 10 didn't go cleanly so I'll try and reset, flash stock etc. When I have some time
