IN2020 to IN2023 - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Is this possible so I can get everything the UK version gets including working Volte?
Btw already on EU/UK Firmware. no Volte options

Unlike older oneplus devices. The radios on these current devices are fixed and don't change when flashing with different region.
Example , if IN2023 doesn't have LTE band 71 and 66 it won't have it if you flash IN2025 on the device.
Else I would have saved $200 and bought an IN2020.

That's why I was asking if IN2020 can be changed to IN2023, I've tried flashing firmware so know that doesn't make any difference apart from removing Chinese bloat

Getting " everything uk works.." would be firmware and hardware and perhaps also provisioning by your network. You said you tried to flash firmware already. Have you tried in2023 ? It not go ahead and report back .

Firmware Compatibility of Different Models (D6503, D6502, D6543)

I want to buy an Xperia Z2 from eBay where the price is a bit low compared to the real price. But unfortunately, the seller told me he don't know the exact model of the phone. But he did tell me that currrently he has only 3G only models available. So which model is it?
My main question is, most of the ROMs and kernels seems to support D6502/3 only. What if I get another model? Will I be able to flash the ROM/kernel to that device?
Are there any other model of the phone available? Should I worry about the dev. support of the model? Are all the versions root-able (or bootloader unlockable)?
Yes/no
Most of the time patches exist for diffrent varients because of compatability issues
Hence my rom is an example, its for d6503 but has a patch for D6502 thta can be flashed

So that means I'll land in trouble if I get some other variant of the phone. Thanks a lot for the information.

Yep
You can flash a FTF for that varient or install a patch if your running a stock basdd custom rom
Cm12 and stuff like that already does it

I didn't get you. You mean to say that any ROM/kernel can be flashed on an variant with the help of a patch? But does every variant has its own patch for every ROM / kernel? But you mentioned earlier that your ROM has patch for only the D6502 variant right?
Sorry for my noobness. Please adhere.
The seller also mentioned that some parts in the software will be in Chinese.

My rom has a patch for D6502 varient
The only difference between D6503 and D6502 is system/etc/firmware
So if you flash a D6503 rom copy a that folder from a D6502 rom and all thats not working should work again, e.g wifi and mobile data

Flashing Oxygen OS on OnePlus 2 which is bought from China that comes with H2OS

I am buying this phone from China and it will come with H2OS not Oxygen OS but of course, I would like to flash Oxygen OS on it. Please confirm whether it is possible to flash the Stock ROM of Oxygen OS version on this phone?
Also, I would like to purchase apps from Google Play and install them I am curious if I will have any problems for doing it.
Please advice.
Yes would be no problem. I throught on the oneplus.net forums there is even a guide to flash this.

Availability of International Firmware (Maybe flashing over Chinese firmware)

So I've noticed that there are some international firmware available online:
http://aria-file.com/?cd=Huawei/M/Mate 8 - NXT
Unfortunately, seems to be all Iranian sites, and they all want money for the downloads.
Anyone see these files out in the wild somewhere? I'd like to try flashing the international firmware over my Chinese firmware.
hm not sure but it looks like im able to download the roms without having to pay. will try again from my laptop (on mobile now) and report back...

Thanks! I can't even seem to make an account. Whenever I do, I try to login and it's called inactive.
nope, false alarm unfortunately, cant access the site either, even with a registered account....bummer!
im sure, additional sources will pop up in due time though
I managed to pay for it and get the latest firmware for both international models. I also successfully converted my Chinese model to an international model, in terms of software. I will write more in a separate post after figuring this out a little more.

well with B133 theres definitely less hassle configuring the google apps and services also got the world record in geekbench for released mobile devices with other AL10 phones with international firmware getting consistently higher scores than stock al10 and stock l29 phones

Chinese variant vs International Variant

Hey guys, I currently live in China and I have access to both the Chinese version of the One plus 5 and the International version of the phone. Since the Chinese version is a tad bit cheaper than the international version, I am considering the Chinese version. However, I don't know whether I will be able to have google assisstant or install google services manually at all if I purchase the Chinese version. This happened to my Chinese S7. Does anyone know if the Chinese variant is the same as the International variant?
Thanks
hi
i also have the chinese variant you can install google play store using google installer version 2 i tried it and seems to work properly.

Thanks, just one more question. Does google assistant work? Thanks
How do you tell the difference between these 2 models?
There is absolutely no hardware difference between the models. The Chinese model comes with HydrogenOS instead OxygenOS but you can easily change between both since they are both official updates from OnePlus.
OxygenOS is meant for the international market and hence has all the Google stuff pre-installed. No messing around necessary.
To the OP, download the latest OxygenOS from here. Place it in the root of your internal memory. Basically don't put the file in any folder.
Go to Settings > System updates, press the gear icon and select Local upgrade. Choose the file, the phone will boot into recovery and everything is done.
Source: I bought mine in China and am currently running OxygenOS with root.

No. Just do exactly what he said. Download the file, put on phones memory (not in any folder). Go to settings, update, and choose the file. Done.
In fact, your memory is probably still intact after that. It's encourage you then do a factory reset.

My only question is if after flashing with Oxygen OS, will you receive OTA ? In gearbest for example it says that the equipment does not have OTA, after I flash it with the latest version will it ?
Thx in advance.

Yes, I am sure. Updates come from OnePlus directly.
Do people not believe us when we say there are no difference, you can flash OOS easily, and updates work fine?! I have a Chinese version running OOS on T-Mobile! All stcok, no unlocked bootloader, etc. OTA works fine. OnePlus even said I could get warranty coverage here in the US.

Calm down just verifying. Most devices require carriers to push the OTA. I manually download and push the updates myself instead of waiting.

Yes he's right, the only phones that require the carrier to push the ota's are devices that are carrier locked which happens a lot in the US, idk about China but here in The Netherlands pretty much every phone is unlocked no matter how you buy it with a few exceptions. OnePlus phones are always unlocked and the only official carrier that sells it is O2 in the UK which I believe is still the same model, either way you'll still recieve the ota's.

Thanks for a thought out response instead of being an ass like he was. I hadn't looked at the coding for the OTA app to see it's download source, I just deleted it so I wouldn't lose root accidentally.

I always use the OTA app to update my phone, it always takes a bit of time for the full zip update to appear on OnePlus or XDA. The OTA app detects root and when it does it will tell you it's gonna download the full zip in the .OTA folder. Then so just flash it via twrp alongside magisk and some other mods.
if it's possible to instale oxygenOS and there is no hardware difference between the two versions then it's ok

Odin -> stock firmware S, L and K version

Hey guys,
Due to lte connection problem, carrier customizing, etc..., I have a question:
I have K version, could I flash S version by Odin in my n935k model?
here http://tekhd.com/ at 06 July 2017 date you can find all the firmwares as below:
SM-N935K_N935KKKU3AQFE Firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy N7 FE K variant. (SM-N935K)
SM-N935L_N935LKLU3AQFE Firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy N7 FE L variant. (SM-N935L)
SM-N935S_N935SKSU3AQFE Firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy N7 FE S variant. (SM-N935S)
System Dump + Boot Image
N7FE-N935SKSU3AQFE-SYSTEM-CSC-BOOT_(ODEX)
N7FE-N935SKSU3AQFE-SYSTEM-CSC-BOOT_(DEODEX)
Thanks to @tekXodus
isn't it just the CSC you need for network stuff? Don't see why it wouldn't but back up phone first.
Google for the K variant: it's on a vietnamese site. It works too. Have installed it twice so far.

Variant K = n935k. I assume that it's best to match firmware to what you already have. I have already installed the K stock on my n935k FE. You are looking for the K variant, yes? I told you where you might find it and also that it is OK to use.
I have n935k model and I m looking for K version of the firmware in order to have the original firmware in case during the S firmware flashing something goes wrong..
Do u have a link for the k version? I didnt find it on google

do you know for sure it's not working? for example, if you dial voicemail, do you still have the LTE icon on your phone signal? that's what i did and i also checked, Settings->About Phone->Status->Sim Card status and while i was connected to voice mail, mobile network type remained LTE.

Yeah it doesn't work. Well this is how I have been checking. While on a phone call I try to view a webpage and it won't load or I try to run a speed test and it won't run. While on a call it shows LTE+ in the status bar but just no data passing through.
While on a call, I checked Settings->About Phone->Status->Sim Card status and it says LTE but like mentioned just can't access anything data related.
Sorry I maybe mixing up VoLTE and using data (specifically LTE data and not WiFi) while on a phone call. After doing some research these are two different things.
My issue is using data while on a call.

S version has two entry in the main settings (between connection and sound and one after applications)
