Just got an update for my VS995 about an hour ago. I haven't had time to look up what it's all about but it's still 7.0 although the security patch is updated to October 1st.
Figured I'd start a thread about it so others can confirm they got it and perhaps someone can share a changelog.

Got this update a week ago when I bought my phone.
Sent from my VS995 using XDA Labs
Damn, and here I was hoping we were going to get an update to improve the camera a bit.
Last time they pushed an update, they took away a feature I used (app pinning in recents). Anything missing that you've noticed?
Any improvements elsewhere you're noticing?

I would expect that in a major firmware, if we get it at all. First couple updates I would prese would be security patches and/major bug fixes.

I really want to take them to improve camera, and whatever else. But, afraid I'll screw myself on BL Unlock if I do.

Not sure if this will work, but I got a VZW prepaid for my daughter to use on WiFi - it has never had a SIM in it, and it's gotten I think two updates. Did you try pulling your SIM, rebooting, then checking for update (with SIM removed)

Did you figure anything out on this? I also have an carrier unlocked xt1767, and I'm also on 7.1.1 with the May security update. Checking for an update just tells me I'm on the latest version.

It will update itself, stop worrying. Other people have newer security patches because their carriers approved them, Verizon didn't yet. It goes by the carrier the phone was made for, not the carrier you are using it on.

I'm going off information posted by others in the slickdeals threads for the Verizon Moto E4, and many have posted about updates.

We aren't worrying just wondering why others got the July security patch on the same build number as us and we have the may security patch. And I know it's up to the carrier that sold the phone not my current carrier.
Slow roll outs in case something goes wrong? They usually take at least a month.

We're both behind on a July security patch, and it's almost October.

When did the newer one supposedly come out? More than a month ago? Forget about which month it's for, they don't make the October update with the October patch.
There was a pretty major security patch dated September that is supposed to address this "BlueBorne" vulnerability that has been making waves. I'm interested in this patch because apparently Android 7.1.1 brought some sort of issue with bluetooth low power devices on Moto phones (e4, X Play and others are claimed to be effected, making some BLP devices unable to connect or remain connected). Among other things, my son was excited to upgrade from an e2 to this e4, and he's a pretty avid Pokemon player (yes, that game is still around). There's a BT clip accessory to the game that hasn't worked and it turns out is also related to this BLP bug.
Other versions of Moto phones have had updates rolled out that INCLUDE THE SEPTEMBER SECURITY PATCH, and at least one source claims it not only patches the BlueBorne vulnerability, it also fixes whatever was wrong with the BT low power connections. So, I'm very much looking forward to this patch being rolled out and SOON. But that Moto mentioned got the patch today (10/10), which is dated September. It'll probably be a while longer before Verizon rolls out a version for it. I really hope it does soon.
you wont get updates without a verizon sim. im not sure you can manually flash it either without an unlocked bootloader and root. I could be wrong, maybe rsd light?

Just did the same on mine with Tmobile prepaid sim.
Did you lose any GSM functionality from the update? I'm on cricket sim and want to make sure I don't lose anything. Thanks.

Yes I can confirm you do not loose GSM I'm using my cricket sim just fine. It was only a security patch. It was like 46 megabytes very small update.
My Verizon E4 (on which I never activated service) got a notification about an update today (new version: NDQS26.69-23-2-3). Judging by this thread, slow rollout is right.
I've got an H870DS and notice that the security update is Jul-18. Is there no later one? I've checked for an update but the phone is telling me none is available. Seems odd.

No, quite the opposite, it would be odd if LG started to release regular updates. Security updates are overrated, software enhancements are more beneficial. Users are the biggest security risk, make sensible decisions with the apps you use, sites accessed, downloads etc and you'll be fine 99% of the time.

I got an update in August with the August 2018 security patch. Try to use LG Bridge to update your phone if OTA updates don't appear. The Hong Kong version of the V20 got the update with the September security patch, so I expect more updates for the G6 shortly.
Thought I would follow up, got bridge working but no updates, guess I need to wait for the next release, whenever that may be.

Just received an update today, 1-Nov-18 update. I think it mainly contains security patches.
Last week I finally bit the bullet and updated from the February security patch to the April security patch. This also updated my bootloader.
After the update, I noticed my battery life wasn't as good and that Greenify apps in hibernation keep waking up at random so I have to load up greenify every so often and check to see if they've woken up or not. It's very annoying. I then decided to take the May update to see if that would fix the issues. No dice there either. These issues weren't there in the January and February patches, it started with the April security patch update.
Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have a solution? I am on the latest AT&T firmware a the G975U variant.

Glad I am not the only one. I think it has to do with One Ui 2.1 verses One Ui 2. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Hey Troops! I just picked up another OTA firmware update/enhancements for my beast, SM-N986U1, CTLB(Jan.21).Received it sometime b-4 05:30 hrs.(EST) via my wc, affectionately referred to as t-mob(not sure after 10 yrs. with 'em what the "t" represents, but trust me the "mob" stands for mostly over bull****!) lol
It's coded as an update /enhancements pkg., as many of you know by the "U" in place of an "S", or Security pkg.(If your confused, that's because I'm a Pro, and good at it..getting folks mixed-up)! For that, I have provided a screenshot with developer notes explaining it's usage in great detail with my s-pen, to help resolve any confusion I may have caused you(unintentional I promise, see arrow). Happy Friday, Ya'll!
You're a bit behind the times. Most of us got it around Monday or late last week.

The last one you received CTLB was an actual software update or enhancements received, as if they tweaked something in the coding to make a device function run smoother, for example. The first OTA we received CTL7 was the security patch for January '21.
Thanks, @znel52 and @evnStevn!
