Someone please help! Having read the very little amount of content I can find so far, I am extremely concerned that somehow some or all of my text messages are being relayed to an email account via the Service (SmsRelayService) that is running under the app Exchange Services.
I don't seem to be able to find anything conclusive, but what I have found is that it is likely to be relaying text messages to an Exchange Account?
I can stop the Service and it stays 'stopped' until a text message is received and it starts running again.
Now have a Note 4, having upgraded because my last handset appeared to have been tampered with and was also behaving in this manner, as well as my Google Location History recording me in places that I never was. On that handset there were even more questionable apps running, one of which appeared to be some form of spyware when searched in Google!
Is there any way that you can dig deep into the operating system of the device and see what is going on?
Is there any way of identifying is my suspicions and those of others that I have seen post similar stories are correct?
One of the reasons I started to question it initially and then look into it was because I was receiving overly descriptive and some unnecessary text messages from someone and at the same time, another device nearby was demonstrating email notification sounds!
Not only that, but certain things that I had not discussed with certain people, but had discussed over text with others (in no way related or connected) were being brought up!
Help please.... is SmsRelayService under the app Exchange Services something to be worried about?????
I was also shocked by the lack of information on this "SmsRelayService" There are tunz of questions out there about it.
After much research and messing with my phone I feel the service is stock BUT can be hijacked by some unknown application to send all texts to a 3rd party. My x was getting my text messages somehow. In her email account i found she had set up a service on her own phone first to test and she would receive every text on the phone and also location. I assume she set it up on her own phone first to figure it out then she put it on my phone. I have a rooted phone with a custom rom. strangely the SmsRelayService had permission for EVERYTHING on my phone. From sms to photos and every single admin right possible. I doubt this is normal for that service. my custom Rom has a "App ops" menu that shows what the service has used or not. In my case it looks like she was only accessing my sms messages. Killing the service did not help as when a new text came in it started back up and accessed the new messages. Once i removed all the permissions for "SmsRelayService" in the "App ops" menu i no longer had the problem of the service accessing the texts. Without this menu option i don’t know how i would have stopped it. I'd assume there is an app or process killer out there that would have been able to shut it down but it'd take someone else with a normal rom to let us know.
in my case I’m lucky it was only sms's. It looks as though whatever she put on my phone was only getting sms's. the app having access to all rights on the phone a better or more in depth spy app/program could have accessed much more. Only spying my sms activity i did not notice ANY extra battery drain. Also this app is known with Microsoft exchange and that messes up a lot of the research. I have never setup any other account but a gmail account so without a link there i don’t know why else it'd been activated in the first place if not for a spy app. I'll try and post back in a few weeks after i'v been able to see if she suddenly doesn’t have information that she shouldn’t know.
Hey guys, so I'm totally new to this forum and have not had any experience regarding flashing/rooting/etc., so please let me know if you need any more infos. Thankful for any help you can provide
A friend of mine has recently "upgraded" my Galaxy S3 Neo (GT-I9301I) with Cyanogenmod 12.1 (12.1-20151007-UNOFFICIAL-s3ve3g) and (after having fixed the annoying camera-issue that seems to arise quite often), we have come across one major problem we cannot seem to fix:
WhatsApp and Telegram can NOT send or receive any messages if you are outside of WiFi-range. Within WiFi-range they work fine, no problems whatsoever. But as soon as you go outside and have to rely purely on network access, they just don't do what they are supposed to do. However, all other apps requiring internet-connection work perfectly fine outside of WiFi range (e.g. Google Chrome, GMail, Traffic Information services etc.), so there MUST be network-access.
Here is what we tried in order to fix it (without any success):
- DroidWall: We checked and unchecked and checked both boxes again (always applying the rules), so now the apps should have full access in and out of WiFi-range.
- We uninstalled and reinstalled both apps.
- We went into the App settings and checked if everything was set to "Allowed" instead of "Ignored" or "Always Ask".
- We went into the in-app "Settings-menu" of each app, in order to find any option that might restrict access - we did not find any.
- Simple things like restarting the phone, clearing app-caches, resetting the network-provider etc. did not work either.
So here I am, hoping that some pros among you have an idea how to proceed Thanks a lot in advance!!

Whatsapp needs an internet connection, ofc it want work because you have not an internet connection, if you are out of the wifi range than turn mobile data, be careful it will cost you some money
edit: maybe you dont have good signal
Try to reflash the rom, and check again. Also check if restricted background data is enabled (globally or specifically in these apps): Settings > Data Usage. Click on these apps and check the toggle is switched off and try to switch it on and off again. Also check in the main Data Usage page, clicking the 3 doted menu on the top right to be written "Restrict background data" and not "Allow background data"
Check your APN settings. Maybe a WAP-APN is selected by default. These APNs block Data on some ports. I had the same problem on my device after flashing CM12.1, the default value was wap.vodafone.de instead of web.vodafone.de

Hi to everyone!
I have many friends that have Huawei smartphones and all them find out
the same problem with the notifications of some apks (Whatsapp and Telegram).
I have tried to set them like protected apk and look if others options
can block their notifications.
I have tried to install 3rd party apk to force notifications but it works
sometimes.
This problem came out when the smartphones have been upgraded
from Android 5.x to 6.0...from EMUI 3.x to EMUI 4.x
Someone said that the problem is the EMUI interface....with EMUI 5.x and Android 7
there is the same problem?
Have someone find out a definitive solution?
The Huawei have said something?
Have a nice day!
I had the same trouble with some application, the method that worked for me was this one : http://www.forbes.com/sites/bensin/...uawei-phone-heres-how-to-fix-it/#7c4eb3c78aa7
Also in the battery manafer, set the alim mode to "performance"
I have been same problem with push notifications and i find a way to resolve it. Applications with that issue must be locked in task manager.
If you can tweak that applications (gmail, whatapp, viber, skype, etc) to be "immune" at "close all" command of task manager
(with Lock symbol at upper right corner) that remain active when screen is off, even after restart the device.
With that applications locked, is not important if phone is in Smart/Performance mode or if an application is protected or not...
The trick is to lock a application in task manager. Somebody can try this solution and post result here...
From 2-3 weeks my device work properly regarding push notifications , tested from another phone any time, all notifications appear ok.
The real problem
Hi!
Thanks to everyone!
I have tried various solutions, but finding however an anomaly.
If arriving messages with Whatsapp or Telegram by direct contact all work,
if the message comes from a group the notifications will not come unless arrive a direct message.
Someone has encountered the same thing?
Have a nice day!
If its only group message, it may habe somethinf to do with the group being "Silent", check the group settings !

Thanks for your response.
I deliberately silenced some groups, others have notifications attived but them only comes when I open the application or if comes a message from a direct contact.
Phone battery manager. Put social chat apps that need to have real-time notifications as protected.
In settings, apps, advanced, ignore optimizations.
Whitelist the same apps.
That's all.
Hi!
Thanks for everyone.
The problem seems to be almost gone. On two days of testing only twice notifications groups were arrived late or partially.
I hope it is a definite solution and not an occasional event.
Have a nice day.
I have this problem with Twitter and Gmail;
As Twitter is protected and on the ignore optimization list but gmail is no where to be found in both menus;
Both apps are allowed to use what ever network (Data or WiFi)
I've been reading a lot about this one, but luckily never experienced it myself. Every notification arrives on time.
Sent from HUAWEI P9 lite via Tapatalk
I've tried everything mentioned but the only thing that worked for me was to use a VPN app on mobile data then I get all notifications. Never missed any after using VPN try it. I use Opera Max but there are many others as well.

Yeah, the Verizon face sucks, not much customization but you should be able do it in the android wear app on the phone, works for me. Just remove the message app tab and re add it ( first install the android messanger)
Use different face, watchmaker is great
Hi, I was able to change faces and such, but still unable to send messages with the android app and message+ is disabled. Also my microphone seems to not work, ok google doesn't work and a voice call the other person could not hear me.
kinda a pain. thx
I struggled with it for a bit as well. so what i had to do was do a factory reset (after updating wear 2.0). then somehow, i paired it to my phone, but skipped the rest of the initial setup stuff it wants you to do like giving it your phone number and setting up vzw message. first thing i did was disable all of the system apps like "phone" and "vzw messages" and/or wear24 app. Never having opened vzw messages, i downloaded google messages from play store. It works great now. google now works perfectly. i don't try to make phone calls off of it so can't help you with that part. but make sure you turn the cellular radio off after every reboot (just to save battery).
this is an amazing whatch for someone like me who does not *want* to have an lte watch. I just wanted a bluetooth only watch with a high res screen, big battery, modern wear processor for $80 shipped. - nfc and heartrate and swappable bands would be nice, but oh well. It gives me all of my notifications so i don't have to take out a phone during meetings and it's much snappier than my urbane was. - nfc, heartrate, and swappable bands would be nice, but oh well.
I've disabled msg+ and installed android messenger.
I can receive texts, but the only way I can send a text is via google assistant because even though the app is installed, the icon wont show in the app drawer.
But after I go through the voice process (send txt to blah blah blah), it errors out on sending it.
I've granted all permissions
Since there are not many Wear24 threads here I will see if any of you can help.
I agree with mistermojorizin - for the price it is now if is a good watch. My issues is this:
I want to use LTE and have it working fine. I can send and response to messages from Message+ (ugh), but when I use google assistant to send a message - which I have done often with other watches - I says sending with watch and hangs on a spinning wheel.
Anyone else see this and have a suggestion? If I could change the app that Assistant uses to send the message to Message+ that might solve the issue, but I haven't see how to do that.

If you try and send text message but it says send from watch and just sits there spinning, you need to disable VZW from sim info. That will also help battery life too. Only thing not working on my watch is the mic in a call. I'm using it with BT/WiFi only with my P2XL on T-Mobile.
I have installed Android Messenger and it works for me with the voice to text, I like that one a lot.
The watch in general is great, I wish that the speaker was louder (as I thought that it will be) and the NFC to be working. I paid $94 CAD for it, you can't even get a used Moto360 first gen in good condition for this price, never mind a high end device.
The band could be replaced, if you don't have Verizon for a provider why would anyone care for the antenna anyway? I have a Moto360 first gen and this is better with the Android Wear 2.0 and bigger battery, after 11 hours of moderate usage I am at 51% of battery remainig which is pretty decent.
Happy so far

Thanks for the siminfo trick. I think that might have done the job for getting voice assistant to use android messages instead of Verizon messages+. Before that, I could respond to text messages but just couldn't initiate a message using voice.
I also disabled the Verizon apps where I could. And I "deleted" Verizon as a carrier altogether (in the siminfo area). The other things I did to get going (and not wait for the system/google updates) was to sideload android wear 2.8, google play services, and finally the google app using ADB on my iMac. It needed all three it appeared.
Here's the command for ADB:
adb connect [IP of your watchort] (I didn't use a port)
adb install -r [app.apk]
Liking the wear24 quite a bit so far as compared to my old Moto 360 1st gen which is still going strong after a battery replacement. Kind of wish the watch diameter was as wide as the Moto 360. I'll do a video comparison of the two soon (makethistechwork.com).
Unable to send text via assistant after following steps

Thank you for the info! I'm using this watch with a Pixel XL and Tmobile just like you. However, even after disable version from the sim info, it still doesn't work. I have the same issue as before where it says that could not connect to a phone. I've included some screenshots showing my sim-info to illustrate what I'm talking about. Kindly suggest anything else that I can do since I've tried everything including factory resets. Thanks!
After updating the wear app and android messages, I can see previews of all my text threads, but when I tap the threads, messages crashes. Has anyone else seen this with all the recent updates?
EDIT: After futzing with permissions for a few seemingly related apps, Messages no longer crashes on me. I could swear I had already tried all of the changes I made this last round, but maybe I missed one every other time. If anyone else runs into this, I'll be happy to share permission settings to see if it helps.

Sure. First, I'll mention that I have removed all of the VZ carrier information, as suggested in this thread, as I don't use nor plan to use VZ, so that may or may not have anything to do with it.
I also disabled Message+, the default text app, in system app settings. I did not touch permissions there.
On to permissions... I pretty much went with all or nothing, looking through system apps and messing with anything that might have to do with messaging...
Android Messages: All on
Phone: All on
Wear OS: All on except storage
As I said, I had reset the phone a few times, and the last time, directly off of reset, my order was: update Google and WearOS system apps, disable Message+, install Android Messages, change permissions, open Android Messages. I didn't try to open Messages until after checking permissions.
I've recently upgraded to Oreo and just noticed that there are no more custom label sound/vibration settings for Gmail?!
Seems gmail is using the new concept that Oreo has, central app notification management which has only one setting per application.
Anyhow, i was extremely dependent on the different notification sound per label/priority inbox so this killed my productivity...
Anyone knows more about this??
edit: guess this is more of a general issue, not just for sgs8, so please delete this topic.
Only problem here since Oreo update is the badge numbers of Gmail notifications. If I have 2 New emails, the badge number is for example 16...

I have the same issue, 2 emails 15 badges. No unread emails. You are wrong. It does not work.

It's a gmail label alert problem in the Android 9 OS. (I found this out through hours on the phone with, first T-Mobile, and then Samsung, who finally concluded it was a problem with GOOGLE.) My phone was one of the last to get the update (April 2018), but this seems to have been a problem in the forums since January 2017. I, also rely on my google inbox LABELS each having different alert notification sounds to keep me working efficiently! i.e. Important Clients, Important Suppliers, Urgent/Waiting for Response, Important Personal. Each one of these gmail labels had its own ringtone assigned. But after this Android update, there is only ONE priority setting and ONE ringtone. I used to think that Android/Google/Samsung were the cutting edge in phones but, THIS IS A HUGE STEP BACKWARDS!
Someone recommended the light flow app, but it doesn't seem to work on my phone, (or it is just too complicated for me to set it up correctly.) I either need to find a simple fix/workaround or downgrade to the Android 7 OS, because Google obviously is not going to fix it anytime soon. And I can't work without it. If anyone knows of a good, easy to use, email alert app that works with gmail labels (sometimes called subfolders). please post!
