Issues with camera and screen - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I am experiencing several issues with my OP8 Pro related to the green tint screen and camera.
Especially the 3x camera is making a big foggy mess.
Others are experiencing this issue with the zoom lens?

I had something like this too.

I was also experiencing some weird issues with my telephoto lens where my shots turned up very overly sharpened and blurry and were the most colour inaccurate photos ever.
I even had checked it with 2.9x and 3.0x back and forth to see the difference, and was shocked about the result.
But the new OOS11 update seems to have fixed that issue for me.
Try updating it to the latest version via system updates. Hope it works for you too.
Have a nice day!

True, not noticing above issues on 11...

Front Camera Low Light Pink/Purple tint..

Anyone got a purple overlay on their front camera when there is no light?
I get heavy purple or blueish vignetting with the front camera in low light, but only with the stock camera app.
First pic is from stock app, second one is from Google Camera.
Does anybody else see what Fuzalert2k sees when the camera is covered, i.e. dark? That means the image enhancement algorithm goes crazy in low light conditions. Does your camera work normally otherwise?
PS: there's already a thread on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/camera-pink-spot-poll-t2933507/

Yes, the purple hue is also apparent in not-so-low light as you can see from my sample.
No, it's not the same phenomenon at all. This effect is only visible in the end result picture and it's the entire picture rather than just a spot within it. This is also not related to white balance, just seems to be a problem in the post-processing of the stock camera app specifically.

Yeah definitely not the same thing.
Look's like I'll be using Google Camera in future.
I must say Sony really dropped the ball on the Z3C camera software, and have yet to fix it or even acknowledge it.
I come from the HTC One.
The "pink hue when dark situations" was a well known problem there.
For soem time HTC used faulty camera sensors, which caused this problem.
If you experience sthis problem with your HTC One you can send your device in and get a replacement.
I hope that this is not the same wit the Z3Cs.
I for myself can't reenact this behaviour with my Z3C.

You are trying it with the front facing camera, are you?
It wouldn't make sense if it was a faulty sensor because it only happens in the stock camera app.
Now went into a completely dark room.
You are right, with the front cam, there is little bit of pink hue on the edges.
Yes, it is very "good" that it's only visible with the stock app.
Therefore the sensor should be okay.

Disable Wide Angle Shots

Ok we all have the same phone and the same lense front and back
This is specifically for the FRONT camera ... we all know the pictures are distorted ... its squashed from the center and appears long at the edges...
owing to the fact that it has a Wide Angle Lense
Which looks very bad during selfies
We cant change the lense as its a hardware part.
But is there an app .. or can we develop an app that corrects the distortion created by the wide lense and give us a straigt propotional shot ?
Im uploading a picture from another website showing the distortion of the lense. its not my own pic.
As im into Bodybuilding and also i take a lot of selfies ... my pictures look weird on my phone compared to my friends. My body looks normal on friends phone whereas it looks out of propotion on mine.
Lets discuss this ... cause im seriously considering a iPhone 6 over this phone now. but obv im falling back cause of budget issues.
its weird No one else hates the Distortion during selfies ?
a small bump up
I doubt there will be any way to fix it if it is the lens itself, if it's firmware, custom ROMs might be able to do it, Xposed Framework etc
No idea how though, I had noticed I looked like Bruce Forsyth a while back, but never took much notice as I don't use the front camera for much more than daft pics on whatsapp anyway
Hi all,
I am also interested about the resolution of this feature: there's no way to disable the wide angle? you have found a solution?
thanks in advance

Camera - issue with bright light sources

Hi guys,
Overall, I am quite satisfied with my s7 edge, including the camera.
There is one thing that bugs me though.
Whenever there is a birth light source - sun, street lamp, etc., it reflects inside of the lens system, creating weird artifacts. See the attached photo & the video.

Do you experience this too?
Hi,
Yup got those lens flares/ ghosting (due to the lens construction),
Even my pro glasses for my DSLR has it
Cheers
Thanks for the reply.
I had never noticed this with my previous phones. It is good to know, that this is not a bug, rather a feature of the design.

AT&T version low light camera issues?

Hi all. I was wondering if it is user error or maybe a known problem that will require an update. I was snapping pics last night in a poorly lit room for some electronic drums that I am selling and I tried auto mode, wide angle, standard, and manual with all settings on auto and I had to use the pics that I took with my old Nexus 6 becuase the quality of pics from the G6 was soooo poor, really terrible. About the only good results I got were with pop out mode (I may be confused about the name of that mode)
Funny, I was thinking about upgrading my N6 primarily because of the camera but that won't be happening until I figure this out. The G6 is my wifes but I wanted to see how it would perform. The biggest problem was the flash produced an incredible amount of light on the edges or sides of the pics. Really extreme, couldn't be edited out.
Open to suggestions or wondering if this is a known issue.
Thanks

Problems with front camera

Hi, so I just bought a Redmi Note 7 (Global Version, 64/4), and I'm facing some issues especially with the front camera. In fact, it seems to be unable to focus, so when trying to take a selfie, even in a short distance, the picture is taken unfocused and blurry. Is this common or should I be thinking on getting a replacement? I'm also facing keyboard lag in the edges but I've read that it is a common problem in Xiaomi phones and it should be fixed in next updates. Thanks!
Most phones front facing cameras have a fixed focus distance. The sharpest focus is usually at an arm's length, try testing this with good lighting. As for the keyboard, I haven't had any problem with my phone.

after checking with goog lighting and some distance the pics come with good detail and focus, thanks for the advice!
As for the keyboard, I've seen many people complaining about the same, the letters next to the edges (q, a, p, l) lag as hell and writing fast is impossible. I think it should be a sofware error, because Pocophone suffered something similar, but I can't be sure
