I got a Galaxy Tab A sprint (SM-T517P) I don't know why but this doesn't have phone app. I've tried resetting the device, tried to unlock UICC but it shows "error 407". In the system app, I can see the phone app but it doesn't appear on the screen. There's only an option that is force stop. Can someone help me with this??? When I insert a sim I can text but there's no option to call. Sometimes a pop up shows up as "power off your device insert the service provider UICC that came with the device" I don't know what that means. Please, someone, help me out!!!

I keep getting a message on the screen saying "sim card is locked", and I am required to enter my pin to unlock it again.
This is the strange part - it nearly only happens when I'm at work, only very occasionally when I am in another location. It also I think happens when data is being received most commonly it happens when a text message comes through - the sim card is locked message is displayed, and I don't get the text come through after unlocking it again.
I'm using JF1.5
I've tried re-inserting the sim, cleaning the contacts, though now I'm pretty sure it's not a physical connection problem, does anyone have any ideas?
A few days ago, my battery went flat and my phone shut down and when I turned it on, there was No Service shown. Tried my sim-card on another phone but there is also no service. I left it like that overnight and in the morning, "Home Service" appeared. I can make calls and receive calls but cannot send text messages, the "phone is not ready please wait 15 second" error appears. Its been like that for a few days and yesterday my battery went flat again and now when I on it, its back to No Service. Before this happened I could do everything fine.. seems like a SIM-card problem but it was always in the phone, I never touched it.
Things I've tried:
-Restarting phone
-Trying SIM card on another phone
-Turning "Phone Settings" off and on in Connection Manager
-Re-configuring network and country (in my case Singapore and Starhub)
Help..
If its your network problem, we cant help you.
My friends are fine on the same network, does that mean it is most likely a sim-card problem?
Confirm it.
I've run a sim unlock app on my SGS2 but when I enter *#7465625# to check if it worked it doesn't run. Just sits there in the dialer. I'm running Resurrection Remix 9.6. Does anyone know why this might be? alternatively I tried *#*#7465625#*#* and it just clears the code from the dialer, but nothing else happens.
Could always borrow a friends SIM card and toss it in. Once the phone loads and it registers on the network you'll know it worked.
If it doesn, a window pops up asking for code.
I did this on my GS2. I used my friends SIM obviously different carrier than I and it proved the unlock program worked.
Yeh I tried this and it worked. Just a bit curious as to why the code didn't work.
Hello all. I have been coming to this forum for answers regarding my unlocked Samsung Focus. I have searched for my problem on here and could not find anyone having the same issue. If there is an existing thread regarding my problem I look forward to someone pointing it out to me.
I couldn't receive or send MMS from my phone and tried to figure out how to fix it. I performed the following actions:
- From your phone’s dialer dial ##634#. This will launch the Diagnostics screen, which is just another dialing screen.
- Once there, input 40*047#3
- Now that you have entered the above-mentioned code, you will see the Confirmation flash as shown in the screenshot (taken on Omnia 7) above. Tap OK.
- As said in the confirmation message, this will reboot your device.
And that’s all there is to it. Your MMS should be up and running now. WPCentral got this tip for Samsung Focus, and now we can confirm that it’s working on Samsung Omnia 7 too.
But this alone did not do it. I also had to download "Network Profile" from the Marketplace and change the network from AT&T to T-Mobile. I had tried using "Network Profile" by itself and it did not work. Only after performing both of these was I able to send MMS.
The problem I am having now is that sometimes the phone will act as if I am pressing the Windows key. I will click on an app and the phone will begin to open it. Then I feel the little vibration and the phone goes back to the menu. Additionally, sometimes the phone vibrates multiple times and then prompts me to speak, as though I am holding the Windows key down. Other times the phone operates normally. Turning the phone off/pulling the battery helps sometimes.
Please help! It annoys me greatly when I am using my mobile banking, watching a video, or in the middle of a round of "Wordament".
i have an a300f running 4.4.4
every time i open the second sim slot to change the sim, the phone opens a window with "restart" and you have to reboot the complete phone,
to enter another sim, despite the fact that in background, the phone is still working it seems.
is there a way around this totally annoying behaviour? maybe a mod or some hack?
i want to change sims on the fly, without rebooting anything.
thanks

I recall there being a system setting for this. You do not have to install any app or module to get rid of that.
Try checking under security or sim settings. There is an option to stop your phone from restarting every time you change your sim.
under security "find my mobile" there is an option called "sim change alert", but its obviously not for the wanted purpose.
there is nowhere another option for this.
Anyone knows a mod/hack for this??
No other dual sim phone shows this idiotic behaviour..
i am still looking for a solution..
