Updated to 7.1.1 Beta. Flashed twrp. I then flashed magisk and then phh. I get stuck in a boot lop. I tried twice but each time I keep getting stuck in a bootloop. Does anyone have a work around? I've looked around and seems like everyone is getting it to work but me and a few others? Any help?
Not sure why you want magisk if xposed isn't supported on 7.0+ ? Just use superSU instead.
Edit: There is a (no longer a) benefit in using Magisk/phh, since magisk hide and using xpropset magisk module is detected by SafetyNet already, but see post below for the latest approach (if any):

suhide is not compatible w/ 7.1.1, so SuperSU is not an option for the 6P on the 7.1.1 Developer Preview
Flash magisk and phh su, works fine, but supersu get bootloop, something like this
7.1.1 with supersu (stable or sr1) boots fine, the problem atm is suhide, flashing suhide causes bootloops
Way possible, but without suhide is not very convenient, banks apps not working properly
So the latest superuser by chain fire works? Cause flashing magisk v8 then phh su just sends me to a bootloop.
I'm using magisk and the latest phh su on 7.1.1 and no issues what so ever even have it passing safetynet
All I did was flash the factory image, then two, then flashed phh su, magisk and then rebooted and installed xsetprop through magisk.
how are you getting this working? I haven't tested, but doesn't the 7.1.1 need a custom kernel to bypass safetynet? Kernel source isn;t out yet?
I started using Invicta OS on my G4 Plus. I wanted to root so I tried to flash Magisk v14.
It seemed to be done without any errors, but once booted, there is no magisk app and not rooted.:crying:
Did i do something wrong?

InvictaOS is prerooted. Just enable it in Dev. Option.
Magisk zip in TWRP also needs Magisk Control App (Google it for download link and sideload it).
Superuser.zip flash in TWRP and phh Superuser apk from Play store are second option.
SuperSU 2.82 zip flash in TWRP is 3rd option (includes SuperSU app)

You can install ElementalX kernel on InvictaOS since it's based on LineageOS, absolutely correct :good:
I can't able to flash xposed zip file via TWRP for oreo 8.1 so i used this magisk method and its working on 8.1 aosp rom.
Recognized Contributor @topjohnwu has modified the*Xposed*Framework (V.85.1) to work alongside Chainfire's*systemless*SuperSU in order to also run without modifying the*system*partition. This means that you can install*Xposed*modules on a rooted device running the stock ROM and continue to receive OTAs
And can pass safety net check so u can use any root app which interfere in system.

Good night people. I have a motorola G4 xt1626. For some time I have been trying to activate root in it, but without success. I have already done the following tests:
* android 7.0 + elemental + supersu.
* android 7.0 + elemental * magisk 18
* android 9.0 + Gapps + magisk 18
I am currently using android 9.0, but without success in getting root.
When installing magisk by TWRP, it says that it has been installed successfully, but it does not activate root.
Please help me.....
Device: Moto G4 XT1625 retus (non amazon firmware)
Android version: Android 7.0 April 2018 security update
I have problems on installing magisk on my Moto G4. I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed twrp. When I installed ElementalX Kernel since it's a requirement for magisk to work, my phone just boots fine. But when I will install the latest or old versions of magisk, My phone gets stuck in a boot loop. I tried supersu ans other kernels but no luck of booting my phone with magisk installed. Is there anything that I did wrong? My phone only boots without magisk/supersu installed.
UPDATE: I used Vegito Kernel and now my phone boots with magisk installed.
Stock ROM doesn't like Magisk/SuperSU. You need to reflash the original boot image for it to boot again and I think it'll remove root access. From my experience, a custom ROM improves the hackability of the phone a fair bit (I'm using official Havoc OS, which looks like Android 9 but is based on Android 8.1. It's quite stable actually)
