Hi,
I've read that some custom ROMs have face unlock included. Since fingerprint is often not recognized, my questions:
a. Is the face unlock secure and/or reliable?
b. Is it possible to install it on an older custom ROM (as zip, Magisk module etc.)?
thx tempe

a. It is reliable, though security can be controversial. A photo of you will unlock for you. Google removed it for a reason.
b. No, no such module exists as of now.

Hello,
Today I flashed EMUI 4.1 , b896 stock ROM
And flashed magisk
Enabled Magisk hide
But the rom can't bypass safetynet test
It shows cts profile mismatch
Anyone knows how to solve it?

Maybe some issues related with fingerprint.
Install Aida-64 and check if you have a valid fingerprint

In theory you have two possibilities, first is adapt your phone to the rom and other is adapt the rom to your phone
1. First is the hardest because you have to convert your phone into a Vodafone phone, branded one, flashing new “oeminfo” plus new “custom.bin” should be enough.
2. Second should be easy, I’m giving you an example from my case, my Vender is “hw” and my country is “eu”, so if I flash B896 and to reach the local.prop file the path is something like /cust/Vodafone/pt/prop/local.prop then I have to change the folders to /cust/hw/eu/prop/local.prop, then restart and check the fingerprint again.
Hello, guys.
Recently, i wanted to install the fulmics ROM (which is awesome) on my LG G6 H870.
So, i've done it, the bootloader has been unlocked, it's rooted right now, and i've got the Fulmics ROM which works perfectly.
But, i still have a question. When i boot up my phone, i've got this message :
"Your device software cannot be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader. etc..."
This isn't a problem, because i can boot up my phone.
But i just wanted to know if i can remove this message, and how ?
Thank you all for your answers and your help.
This is normal and cannot remove that message. Just ignore it, how many times do you actually reboot for it to be an issue? If you ever need send phone off for repair just flash stock and lock bootloader again.
normal bro don't worry

dude I've got a question: if you wanted to get your bank's app working again in a custom rom/recovery is it possible to relock the bootloader in order to get older compatibility (mario kart, spotify options, bancoestado) but in a system like PA Quartz 3 or PixelExperience ? Or bootloader wont boot locked another system than LG?
I seriously need those apps but also need Android 10

Maybe a glitch.
so, does yours say unofficial?
I ask cause when I unlocked my booloader and flashed twrp 3.1. something the stock rom wouldn't boot after I backed it up. its never seemingly behaved properly..
also, no matter what rom I put on the contacts up and delete themselves (i do not use cloud sync or gapps) and tge other issue accompanying is calls will drop on 1st second & 3rd rings when full signal present.
Did I miss a step?
I did developer options oem unlocking adb etc.
adb unlocked oem, then flashed twrp via adb/fastboot
then not working?
Hello,
I recently went through the ROOT process for H872 (T-Mobile version) and was able to install custom ROMs (PixelExperience_Plus_h872-10.0-20200326-2210-UNOFFICIAL & Havoc-OS-v3.7-20200711-h872-Official).
Every time I try to "Encrypt" the phone, phone asks for pin, restarts, shows android logo, reboots again and then gets stuck in bootloop (up to LG G6 ThinQ logo).
Only way to recover from this state is to boot into TWRP to format the data; and reflash everything.
Bootloader is unlocked.
Using TWRP 3.2.3 Nebula_Alph_20180813 (one from the root instruction).
Please let me know if there is a way to to enable encryption.
Thanks!
Unfortunately force encryption won't work in Custom ROMs. That's why I am on stock

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, looks like you are correct.
Wonder if there is a ROM with default encryption.

Maybe Fulmics lol, But I dont know if there is version for H872. And Fulmics is outdated. You can try to debloat Stock ROM. Put Nova or other launcher

Anyway to hide or bypass the encryption status ?
Stock Image = Encryption works but outdated security patch
Custom ROM = Encryption doesn't work but updated security patch
Not sure which is better... both have some risk
Encryption helps when you lost your phone, without passcode you cant access data
New security patch - helps in app or ir OS security, it harder to hack or to use holes in software to get access to various data when phone is use.

So in your opinion, encryption is priority over security patch?

For me encryption is priority, because I have sensitive data on a phone: banking app, email client and so on
hi guys,
Ive been using stock rom since i purchased this phone.
Thinking of flashing some custom roms. but i have few questions in my mind. Hope you guys can advice me on that.
- Can i use a custom rom without Root ? My interntion is to use banking apps without any problem. Not really interested in in using Magisk to hide the root status.
- i have a manually enabled call recording on my Oneplus6T. Do i get this feature working on any custom rom ?
- I undestand that i need to unlock my bootloader to flash custom roms, so in case if i want to revert back to stock rom in future , will it break any security mechanism of the phone?
Please advise.
- Yes you can run a custom rom without root. You can even lock your bootloader with a custom ROM (WARNING, you can just lock your bootloader, it's a whole process, DO NOT just do this. Research first!). That being said, I would venture to say many banking apps would take issue with custom ROMs even if you aren't rooted. However I don't use them, so I can't say this for certain.
- Yes call recording works in (some) custom ROMs.
- Unlock your bootloader, won't harm anything. You can always go back to stock. If you want to completely go back to stock you should be able to just run the MSMTool and it should put your phone back exactly as it was out of the box. It reloads the stock software, and relocks the bootloader.
