Hi,
I was trying to install a new firmware for Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T595 with Odin. After that, for some reason, installation failed and now the tablet has constant loop.
I recorded this issue:
youtube.com/watch?v=NuEFQswdcY8
youtube.com/watch?v=9aUuHF-EG-8
The error generated is:
#Reboot Recovery Cause is [[check_boot_mode]RebootRecoveryWithKey]#
Block-Based OTA
Supported APi:3
#MANUAL MODE v1.0.0#
E:Failed to mount /cache: Invalid argument

I tried several times to push all combinations possibles with VOL+, VOL- and POWER. I only obtain a complete reboot viewing Samsung logo before the error.
I cannot (I don't know why) enter to recovery menu.
Exists any method for install a new firmware from SD Card or any alternative? Boot TWRP from SD Card or something? I didn't found anything about this.
Thanks in advance.
I have just got the same issue.

Hi Bro,
I have the same issue with my galaxy tab SM-T595. I tried to follow "https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/development/recovery-twrp-3-3-1-0-lineage-t4054225" but it failed on first step. Now its restarting in loop. No key combination is working.

Download previous version of firmware correct for your country.
Boot into fast boot (not recovery) and flash via latest Odin.

Hi, trying to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 US Retail to add ad hoc support. Got the files pushed to the sd card via adb, but reboot recovery command only turns off the device. When using the key to enter recovery mode I get the error when selecting to flash zip from the sdcard E:unknown volume path [/sdcard]. Any help on sorting this would be great as I have given up googling a fix, and even tried rooting with Z4 to avail. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Hello Friends, I just upgraded my Zenfone 3 ze520kl to Nougat, but i prefer Marshmallow i try from recovery mode to flash Marshmallow, it shows error and the installation aborted. Can any one help . Thanks.
What error does it show?
Error with some numbers follows by 'install aborted'. I unable remember the error numbers. I did three times all the time with same remark.Thanks.
That's not very helpful. Can you try it again and tell us exactly what it says?
Hi,
I downgraded a few days ago, here's an overview of the steps.
WARNING, this requires a factory reset so you will lose the data on the phone, so make sure you have backups before you proceed. You do this at your own risk and I am not responsible for any damages.
I assume you have adb / drivers all configured and know to how use them.
1) download firmware file http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE520KL/UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip and save to SD card / insert card in phone.
2) download recovery and boot img files for Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152
- https://mega.nz/#F!ok0V0RIA!5WKtHe98opzjVI3NPbM7Ww
- under the folder Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152
3) Go to fastboot mode (power + vol up)
- flash recovery.img (command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
- flash boot.img (command: fastboot flash boot boot.img)
4) reboot to recovery (power + vol down)
5) install update form micro sd card.
set the file UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip that you saved earlier
6) wipe cache
7) factory reset
If you don't do a factory reset and reboot, Android pretty much crashes on multiple processes on start up, it is unusable.

TK

Warning- No file-contexts. This package is for "ww-phone" devices, this is a E:error in /side load/ package.zip (status 7) Installation aborted.
Same thing happened to me as well. I just went ahead to flash the RAW file (http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2016/12/asus-zenfone-3-raw-firmware-and-asus.html) and updated the software to the latest marshmallow update, followed by a factory reset.
If we Downgrade
Then we get update in future yes or no??
Sorry for bad English??
Yes.
Hi, thanks for the help. Please answer this:
Do I need to use Recovery and Boot.img the same version of ROM? Why?
Why do I need to install Boot.img?
Hi, I think I f***** up badly...
I wanted to root my S7 Edge SM-G935F running android 7.0 so I enabled USB debugging and OEM unlock.
I used Odin to flash a CF auto-root I found for the 935F for android 7 and the site just said I had to install SuperSU after that but it was just boot looping.
After that I installed TWRP for my phone and installed the zip with Superuser. I kept receiving the error "failed to mount /data (invalid argument)".
I googled it and found a video that said I had to change my system "file system" from EXT4 to FAT. It was stuck so I rebooted the phone...
Now I can't load TWRP (it's stuck at the loading screen) to do a factory reset and when I do a normal boot it doens't go further than the S7 Edge screen, it doesn't go to the flashing SAMSUNG screen.
Now when I choose to reboot in Odin mode it says "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
I tried to do that but it says "unsupported device" and it doesn't see my phone in the Emergency Software Recovery tab.
I could have done a factory reset before but it's not the first time I root a phone and I never had a problem so I didn't back anything up but I have some very important pictures on my phone for school.
I enabled adoptable storage so I couldn't just take out the 128gb Samsung Pro + micro sd and copy the pictures on my pc.
Can somebody please tell me how to factory reset my S7 Edge even if I lose all my data. Sorry for my English it's my third language.
Thanks in advance
If I can remember correctly the "An error has occurred while updating th......." screen is actually the same as download/odin mode, so you can odin flash back stock rom.
Your data has probably already been lost during file system changing which automatically format /data.
Also I have never seen any phone run on FAT file system. S7 only support EXT4 and F2FS(required custom rom and kernel). So be careful next time.
AFAIK, there's currently no root available on stock nougat touchwiz rom unless you use modified kernel&rom.
For TWRP to be able to read /data.
/Data need to be FORMAT in TWRP once to remove encryption, so that TWRP can read it.
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
yeah iv done the same
so turns out i have done exactly the same as you did here
what did u do to fix this

Hi
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) flashed in Cyanogenmod ages ago. I'd like to reflash it with a new more recent ROM*as right now in CyanogenMod phone is more or less in a bootloop (most of time rebooting just few seconds/minutes after having finished the boot).
Unhappy I'm unable to find out which recovery was installed. I tried to keep physical Vol+ or Vol- butoon pushed while booting but it makes nothing. At boot I just get briefly displayed:
HTML:
Kernel is not SEandroid enforcing
Set Warranty bit: kernel
Is it safe to flash it with TWRP considering it as still a fresh device with original rom ? or danger ?
Thanks
You are booting to download mode try recovery mode.
Vol + Home button and power button
Vol- Home button +power button
As it does not have original firmware .
I would flash latest stock rom through Odin then flash required TWRP.

Well it had at first but as Samsung very quickly stopped any updates I had switched it to CyanogenMod. I have succeeded to install on it the latest TWRP: 2.6.3.7 but each time I try to flash a ROM*(tried with two different ROm just to be sure)*I get the same errors in TWRP. For info files to flash on the SD*Card.
Code:
Updating partition details....
E:Unable to mount '/usbstorage'
Installing '/external_sd/lineage-16.0-20181010-
Checking for MD5*file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5*file found
Warning: No file_contexts
E3004: This package is for device: hlte, hltespr
E: unknown command [log]
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/exter
Error flashing zip '/external_sd/lineage-16.0-2
Updating partition details...
E:Unable to mount '/usbstorage'
I double-checked on original sticker for manufacturer on device and it's well labelled as SM-N9005 so it's the HTLE version no ?
Update: I have tested with a ROM with Android 7.1.2 in it and install in twrp is going fine including gapps but at reboot it get stuck on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and that's it and it's indicated at top of screen in yellow: Set Warranty bit: kernel
Not sure what's the problem there ?
Thanks for help,
Vincèn
and that's it and it's indicated at top of screen in yellow: Set Warranty bit: kernel
Correct unless its all stock kernel rom and recovery .
:Error executing updater binary in zip '/exter
Error flashing zip
Zip faulty or flashing tool wrong version

Try to write recovery after writing rom
I encountered such a fact when writing a custom rom on my phone.
At that time, I could solve the problem by writing a custom recovery after writing the custom rom.
The custom recovery wrote as follows.
1. Press the Volume Down, Home, and Power buttons to wake up the phone in download mode.
2. Start Odin, specify a custom recovery file in "AP", and press the Start button.
The custom recovery used "sc03e-KBC-CWM-v6.0.5.1_r4-recovery.tar".
have no idea about this
