Hi,
Currently on build LRX21P. (5.0 for the 2012 Nexus 7 wifi)
I recently received a notification that an OTA update to 5.0.2 was available.
When I tried to install it, the tablet would reboot into TWRP and stay there.
It looks like the update installed a file /cache/a6645eee89af34f58db74f6a1ad93fe400fcfc7b.signed-nakasi-LRX22G-from-LRX21P.a6645eee.zip but TWRP can't install it. I have attached the logfile from TWRP.
Any suggestions? I would much rather do an upgrade than wipe in order to install the 5.0.2 image.
Thanks!
Download the factory image from Google's website. Extract the system.img file from the zip. Use fastboot to flash: "fastboot flash system system.img". It worked fine for me.
On other devices I have been advised to NOT take an OTA if I had a custom recovery, even with a stock ROM. So one had to flash back to stock recovery before taking the OTA.
I have been trying to see if the same is true for the Nexus 7 with Android 5.x, but haven't found a definitive answer yet.

That worked perfectly. (used WUG toolkit to flash).
Thanks!
Hello!
I'm currently running Android 6.0.1. I was planning on upgrading to Android 7.1.2 and installing Pure Nexus. So, I'm wondering If I have to install the stock image first or is there a way to just directly go to installing Pure Nexus? Maybe I could flash the radio and such separately. I'm not quite sure... Could someone help me out?

Download the latest Pure Nexus update from June, gapps, and the latest update of your preferred root tool (if you need root) onto your phone. Pure Nexus is not rooted from my understanding. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Download the June factory image onto your computer.
Backup your current rom in TWRP. Next, use fastboot to flash the bootloader, radio, and vendor images from the June factory image. You must update the vendor image each month that you update your custom rom, FYI. Follow this guide below to learn more regarding fastboot:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3206928
Next, boot into TWRP again. Here, you will do a factory reset and wipe system then flash Pure Nexus, gapps and your root method (if you desire). Boot up and reinstall everything. You should be set from here.

Thanks. It worked! Now to figure out why Magisk is giving me a CTS Profile mismatch error....

Any guide for flashing oxygen on China version OnePlus 5?
If it's like the others all it'll take is a simple flash of the full oxygen OS ROM file.
Download it here: http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-5/oneplus_5_oxygenos_4.5.5/
Put the OOS file on the phone
Make sure you backup anything you need on the phone first .
Go into the phones recovery and fully wipe the device
Go to install and install the zip file that should get you OOS
AFAIK you don't need an unlocked bootloader or custom recovery for this should be okay to do without doing that.
Hey guys,
I havent flashed anything on my 6p for quite a while so you can say im pretty rusty.

Just flash the factory image form Google's developer site, follow the instructions that comes on the same site. It will fully wipe everything.
If by PN you mean pure Nexus, I'm sure the thread or site if they have one, should have instructions, for their specific custom rom. Should be as simple as downloading the newest custom rom version, doing a wipe in TWRP, and flashing the new rom. Probably best to update your custom recovery to the newest one. Please follow the official instructions as I stated above, as I maybe wrong.
As far as STOCK goes, I just got my 6p yesterday, and flashed the newest stock 8.1 to root with Magisk. Download the file from:
https://developers.google.com/android/images
Search for Nexus 6p
If you need more help after downloading that stock update, respond back with what computer os you are using, but there is a flash-all.sh for Linux/Mac and a flash-all.bat for windows. You need adb/fastboot and device drivers installed.
I used the Hiesenberg guide under general for "returning to stock" for fastboot commands and downloaded as said above latest factory image. If your adb is up-to-date I think can also use the install file that comes with factory image.

Just pointing out that you would need to update certain things to 8.1 like radio, bootloader, before flashing the 8.1 purenexus rom when upgrading from 7.1.2
I suggest doing a clean full upgrade to stock version of 8.1, then flashing the pn 8.1 rom, so there are no issues.

And as exodusche stated, look at the guide on how to return to stock for the correct commands to use to upgrade to 8.1, then flash TWRP, then flash your PN 8.1 rom.
Thanks guys, i actually did follow hiesenberg guide and just changed the files to 8.1..
Now to decide which custom rom to install.. Cant stay much longer on stock [emoji2]

Flash a custom rom directly to your pixel 3a or 3a xl using google factory image zip.
I didnt expect this to work but it did. i flash my pixel 3a alot doing development experiments and found it a hassle to first flash the whole device using the google factory images then using adb sideload to flash the custom rom.
so i had an idea. what if i could flash all the partitions with fresh images and flash the custom rom at the same time. i could then control which slot gets flashed and avoid the process of flashing stock first then rebooting into the bootloader flashing the custom boot then rebooting to the recovery and adb sideloading the custom rom.
AFAIK this will only work for google devices with factory images downloaded from the google factory image site.
so lets get started. Btw i am in no way responsible for any damage this may cause to your device by following this how to. your warranty is now void.
so as you know you should have an unlocked bootloader. I will not go into that process here so you will need to look that up on your own and come back.
so go here and download the latest factory image according to the android version you would like to flash.
Factory Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices | Google Play services | Google for Developers
developers.google.com
while thats downloading go ahead and grab the payload.bin dumper and set it up. you can find that here.....
GitHub - vm03/payload_dumper: Android OTA payload dumper
Android OTA payload dumper. Contribute to vm03/payload_dumper development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
next find the custom rom you would like to flash according to the android version of the factory image you just downloaded
extract the custom rom zip and cd into the folder created from extracting it. now copy the payload.bin from there and paste it into the payload dumper folder you downloaded and set up in the previous steps and extract the payload.bin
now extract the factory image zip you downloaded according the android version of the custom rom zip and cd into those folders and create a new folder calling it what ever you like but for the intent of this guide call it stockimage.
now extract the contents of the stock image zip into the folder you just created.
now open another window and go to the output of the payload dumper and move the contents of that folder into the stockimage folder you created in the previous step and replace the stock partition images with the custom partition images from the payload dumpers output
when that completes zip up everything in the stockimage folder and name it the same name as the zip in the factory images folder we unzipped earlier. then replace the stock image zip in that folder with the new one we just created.
now rebbot your pixel 3a or 3a xl into the bootloader and run sh flash-all.sh and when it completes you will now boot into the custom rom instead of the factory stock rom.
so now you know how to flash a custom rom all in one shot using fastboot and avoiding the adb sideloading of the custom rom zip.
tested and working on Google Pixel 3A
enjoy
