Call Recording & Root - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hello friends, I'm using ACR app for record my calls (and tried many app, all of them same) but ACR (latest unchained) not recording anyone who I'm talking via Bluetooth conversations. Just recording my voice. Can I solve this problem if I enable root access on my phone? Android 9 didn't have this problem also (i guess). I had no chance to downgrade to Android 9, Samsung customer service said. What do you suggest?

I have the s10+ snapdragon variant and i tried call recording and it was terrible i gave up on it. But your s10+ can be rooted and with root you'll have much better quality on bluetooth. But don't take my word for it wait for others that has your phone rooted test it before you root yours

I am also currently investigating call record as i've rooted my exynos uk version plus.
I never checked when on 9 if call recording was there or not, only after put in 10, i then realised.
But has regard downgrading, the samsung representative is talking utter rubbish.
I downgraded to 9 and installed after rooting a stock 10 rom with Magisk and twrp incorporated
You need to check the Bootloader binary code.
Which means if the number in your current 10 is the same as the last version of 9, then you can downgrade.
If number in android 10 binary is higher, you can not currently.
A perfect video i used which was clear.

Hope this helps

since google no longer allows call recording APIs on android 9+ so you have 2 options:
1. find a variant that has built-in support for call recording. for example G975F OXM
2. give up knox and get root.
more explains from the maker of ACR: https://nllapps.com/apps/acr/android9.htm
apps that claim to be able to record calls without root, they are not telling the truth. they can somehow record the other voice from loud speaker and/or bluetooth but it is either very small or it requires you to be in a very quiet place... what they do is they just record the sound of the other voice through speaker, not directly from inside via APIs.

Root and use the Native Call Recording App - works flawlessly, Im on Tomatolei S10 rom CHC version and really works so much better than ACR which i had been running.

VOIP on the titan??

I was wondering if anyone knows a fully compatible VOIP Service that will run perfectly on the titan?
I've tried skype, but when making calls, they cant hear you can you cant hear them. Beta version trick of skype (2.2.0.18/20) do not work on WM6.1. I've also tried Fring, but while you can hear people talking to you, they can not hear you talk to them (mic issue). I looked all over the net for a fix to this issue but none have been found.
I've only been using skype for a week and all the hype about it being the coolest voip service is quickly fading.....
So I was hoping someone could point me to a fully compatible with the titan VOIP service that runs perfectly.
I'm running DCD's 3.2.6 rom.
Thanks
Anyone out there?

I Think so
Me Too...
I would be interested in an answer to this question as well. I have unlimited EVDO coverage, so using the service over the network is not a problem for me.
You could try this :
http://www.ageet.com/us/products-agephone-mobile.htm
You need your own voip provider. I use http://les.net
Quality is so-so... Choppy audio... But maybe I haven't tried hard enough, there are lots of tweaks that can be done within the application.
Also, skype 2.1.0.66 works really well on DCD 3.2.0
cheers!
i guess a new version of skype was just released that works with the Mogul/Titan in WM6.1 and has audio!
Voip
As noted above, the latest skype mobile (version 2.5.0.108 BETA) will work on the mogul, but still uses the rear speaker.
I have also had some luck with installing WM6Voip.cab and SeuopVoip_v0.3.cab, and configuring the SIP to work with my provider (which is InterVoip). When I use this method, instead of showing Sprint on the dialpad it shows InterVoip as the service. Again it uses the rear speaker.
Third option is a program called AGE phone mobile 2 (which you have to purchase). This lets you set up multiple SIP's and presents its own dialpad. Still uses rear speaker though.
As you probably know, if you use a headset you get around the rear speaker problem.
All these programs/files are easily found with a search.
nimbuzz
If you use the latest version of skype in conjunction with skype account can use audio without rear speaker and gets better volume through headphones for me
what about with bluetooth? will this bypass the rear speaker?
Yes!
If you use BlueTooth headphone, it will bypass rear speakers!
Skype dec 10th Release for HTC P4000 on Telus!
There is a new Skype just released on DEC 10th that works on the P4000 on the telus 6.1 A-GPS ROM, just make sure u put echo cancelation on in options.

i've tested skype on my HD with wifi connection with a friend of mine that has skype on his HD
i must say it works JUST PERFECT! xD
skype to my hd work
But I can't get the Skype sound through the ear speaker. It comes from the rear speaker.
Are you guys using a separate version of Skype or a hack, or you guys are using a headset?
You have to use a headset, the sound comes from the rear speaker of the unit.
still no support for video call with skype ?
I would like to use front camera of HD for video call..
like cam.
hmmmz...
It seems it does not support BT headset as well. I do not have HD, but in my PPC the new skype does not work with the BT headset, its either with the rear speaker, or the wired headset.
If im not mistaken i read somewhere in the forum that someone had skype working with this bt headset
Hi guys,
I'm running Skype 2.5 beta on my hd an the chat works fine. But each time I'm trying to make or get a call, Skype crashes and win mobile wants to send an error report...
Does anybody else encounter this problem, or am I the only one??
Any workaround for that problem would be awesome

no u are not alone! i have hd too and tried skype new beta and have the same problem! i read that we all should wait that skype publish a newer version! at the moment there is a bug or a failure thats skype software can't work correct with the cpu of the hd and all the other newer pocket pc's.
notice: everyone with a hd can run this beta version but u can't call (i heard that some with english rom could, but i don't believe them).
2. notice: u can't use the speaker on the front side for your ear, because skype has no access to this hardware! (at the moment , but in the future )

My WWE HD has Skype 2.5 installed and it has worked great with the official rom and many cooked roms. I had the older Skype installed which also worked fine but the screen was only displaying in VGA.
I'm wondering why everyone makes such a big deal about Skype using the back speaker. All you have to do is turn the phone around and it works the same, am I missing the advantage to using the front speaker?
Not sure if this has been covered here or not but here it is on another forum on xda:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3153030&postcount=61
Start tivi, then run skype. All sound comes from the front speaker, not the back. Make sure to turn off tivi when you're done with skype, as ALL sounds will be rerouted to the front speaker, not just voice calls.

The older version 2.2.0.38 runs fine on my HD and I can make calls with it.
Had the same problem with Skype crashing when making a call with 2.50 so reverted to the older version.

Hi all
Ive been doing some searching and found out how to use Skype through the ear piece just like a normal call. Go to www.fring.com and download the application. It realy works great. You can use it through your network provider and also through a wireless connection. Good feature is that it can include other applications such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN and loads more!
Hope this thread was of use....let me know how you get along!

skype v 3.0 (beta) for windows mobile is out !
the new version for wm (beta) is out !
Can somebody explain why it's not possible to make video calls using skype, whereas with a PC, it's possible.
What's the difference actually ?
Skype 3.0 beta has a bug to call to Italy: it automatically removes the "0" from the city code. If I have to dial a number in Milano I dial +3902xxxxxxxx, but Skype automatically skip the zero so the call can not be completed.
Strangely enough if you dial a contact number, it is dialed correctly.
I wait for the final version.

Skype for Android working really well!

I got the Note 8 with LTE, stock Android 4.0.2, and signed up for a one year, country based unlimited Skype Out subscription.
The Skype experience was initally frustrating, where the audio was erraticallly routed between internal and external speaker on the device, and not reliably to the Bluetooth headset. The dial pad didn't when reaching switchboards requiring dialling a number or hash sign. I switched to v 3... where sound functioned a little bit better, but dial pad was still not functioning once reaching the switchboard. Skype v 3.. also worked better for tablets because it displayed in landscape mode.
As of the latest version, v 4.6.0.42007 of Feb 18, 2014, the sound now gets correctly routed and works with the BT headset! The dial pad also functions in switchboards. Additionally, Skype automatically switches between landscape and portrait mode. Yay!!
Finally, this now functions as a normal phone using Skype Out flat fee.

Does anyone know whether the latest Skype update works OK with the Note 8.0? I've been using an old version so I can hear the other party, otherwise there was no sound whatsoever.
(maybe I'll just install it and see for myself...)

Try an uninstall for skype and then a clean install from Google Play. I put it on the internal storage, not on the card.

You have to turn ON the camera to get the loud-speaker working. Once you have the sound, its possible to turn OFF the camera retaining the sound.
Its weird that there is no speaker button in call, just camera. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Galaxy Tab A7 - Audio quality loss while using VoIP

Hello fellows. I have been struggling with a specific issue since I bought my tablet. The device is a Galaxy Tab A 2016 (SM-T280) and it runs Android 5.1.1. I have rooted it when the first root method was released, can't really recall it, and I've installed only SD Maid. No mods, no tweaks, no custom bootloaders, no nothing. My problem occures while I'm using VoIP chat (like Facebook Messenger or Google Hangouts) and try to watch a video simultaneously. Although the audio quality is pretty decent on plain media playback, it drops like hell and becomes distored and kind of silent if I start VoIP call at the same time. Has anyone stumbled upon the same issue? Is there any workaround? Thank you in advance.

Call Recording Broken w/Android Pie (9). How Do I Record Calls Now???

I have a Sprint S10+, the Snapdragon G975U. Until Android 9, I had a call recorder app that worked great for years. But whatever changes they made in 9 killed call recording and it's continued in Android 10. I've contacted the support for the app manufacturer and they say the only way now is to have a rooted phone, but to my knowledge and research, there is no way to root the G975U snapdragon.
Does anyone know of a particular piece of software or workaround or anything that would allow me to record calls on this phone? Or has the information changed and there IS a way to root the G975U snapdragon?

Do you have an S10+? If so, what recording setting are you using? I tried using Cube ACR but only one mode seemed to work and the recording volume was too low to be of use.

I don't user speakerphone at all, but I do use bluetooth headsets more often than not. I used to use a call recorder called 'Total Recall' from Killer Mobile, but it no longer works after Android 9. I'm really sick of not being able to use the built-in recorder that Samsung builds into the phone.
