Hello. I have made a Magisk module to override the default FOD icon on AOSP ROMs since I don't like the default one (PE, LOS, PA), I'm sharing it the case someone has a similar taste of mine.
This module add a simple overlay and should work on all AOSP 10 ROMs.
Check https://imgur.com/a/ZABAEac for preview screenshoots
Installation: Flash with Magisk
Download: https://github.com/linjie997/mi9-FOD-icon/releases/
Donations: Do not donate to me, if you really want to, support some environmental charity organization, thank you
An update is up
The module didn't work on ROMs which doesn't have the overlay folder, which is now fixed in v2
Sorry for the incovenience
Is possible to change the green light color of fingerprint?

Hi,
yes that's possible but it would need a framework modification, which I'm not confident to do.
Anyway, we should stick with green light since it's the one with higher success of fp recognition.

For me this green is terrible, they could have adopted the same color used in the Mi 9T.
Thank you very much
This exactly what I was looking for

It's possible as long as the icon is an svg
You have to decompile the overlay you can find on my GitHub, replace the svg (it's in xml format), then recompile the overlay and build the magisk module
I'm currently having some issues with apktool, I'll check that soon if you can't do it

Thank you for your help.
Unfortunately I couldn't do it myself
These are the two icon I liked, I would appreciate it if you could do it

https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/fingerprint_550148?term=fingerprint&page=1&position=42
So, I'm back with a few more icons. For the instance I made 3 more builds, so we now have 4 different available icons.
Check the first post for the downloads and https://imgur.com/a/ZABAEac for some preview screenshoots.
Edit: made one more, kanged icon from OnePlus. Check the attachment for screenshoot. Updated github vegana release with this one
You are the best, thank you
OnePlus icon module updated since the size were wrong for me on latest LineageOS

I don't know about other roms, especially meme ROMs like havoc, I'm not going to dig into this sorry
Tried in my OP7Pro 5G and it works,
Is there any way to change the icon? I have a Starfleet logo that makes a great FOD icon and I used it on OOS and want to use it on AOSPA, on OOS someone developed and app/module that lets you set whatever image you want and active/inactive colors, is that possible for aosp?

Since this module is a simple overlay, it need to be compiled everytime
You can send me the icon you would like to use and I'll make a module when I'll be free, best would be svg but a png could work too after a conversion

I did a module with the active image, I did not test it but should work fine just like the others. Please check the attachment.
I think implementing different active/inactive should be possible, do you know any ROM that has this feature?

Awesome!
It's a bit small, any chance of making is like 20-30% or so larger? But still, thank you!
And yes, Oxygen OS Has inactive/active fod icons, not sure of any AOSP ROMs that do tho.

Surely you can use Xposed framework and a module for that if its not build in the Alliance rom.

Install Xposed.apk from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-installer-versions-changelog-t2714053 (read the OP well) and all available modules like GravityBox which has many UI tweaking options. Xposed modules are available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/index-xposed-modules-collection-post-t2327541, Xposed is not yet compatible with ART afaik.

Yes. It's not clear if you want to change an existing icon or add something outright.
The former is generally called theming. Usually you can just replace the icon in question with a root aware file browser. Most app icons are in the drawable 360 xxhdpi drawable folder of system apps. The latter either needs an associated app, a smali edit or something to reference the icon.
.
I don't like this big text Motorola uses, is it possible to change how they look to how stock android is? I couldn't find anything on xposed modules
You tried Gravitybox? It's been a while since I used xposed.
I know theming works and replaces those (you do mean in the status bar right?) Try flashing a ROM with Layers like cyanogenmod. Different themes will use different icons.
Yeah i fixed it by using a xposed module for moto devices

Google Pixel Experience Theme MOD for AOSP ROM Santhosh M
Hi all,
I have seen most of the users are using AOSP Android 7.1.2_r27 of Santhosh M ROM. I have created a MOD for this ROM. If you want to enjoy the Pixel Experience Blue Accent color and Round Icons you can flash this file using the TWRP recovery.
I have just modded Round icons and Blue Accent color. I am working on Pixel Animated Navigation Bar. I will soon complete the work and come up with the new zip files.
How to Install this Mod
Reboot your phone into Recovery
Click on Install button
Search for the Pixel_Experience_MOD_AOSP.zip in your directory
Flash it and then Reboot your Phone
Clear your default launcher data.
What is inside this Mod?
- Pixel Round Icons
- Pixel Blue Accent
- Round Icons for Settings and Downloads
- Pixel Animated Navigation Bar. (Thanks to @Sashko98)
If the mod is not working or any issues comment below for an update
Downloads: Pixel Experience Mod
✓ It would be great if you will share this thread URL instead of my zip file or direct link to download
Press Thanks if you like my work

Will you add boot animation and sounds also? Would be nice to have a mod including as much as possible so we don't have to flash multiple mods

Yeah, I don't have all round icons either, but I guess that is because the app itself don't have a round icon.

It's much optimized ROM
It's a nice ROM. Do you know exactly what special features this ROM has? I have noticed manual adjustment for the camera app but long exposures don't seem to work. It shows that the exposure time can be adjusted all the way to 32s but it's non functional...
I guess this should be moved to the Rom development section
Yeah the admin moved it here even.though I insisted a lot that this belongs in the ROM section. He was like you are not developing it so it doesn't belong there
Hey, I'm thinking about installing this ROM. Can you tell me if it allows to change statusbar icons for aosp ones? I'm talking about the icons for notifications on status bar. In regular MIUI they are colorful (exactly same as icons for these apps). I'd like to change them to regular AOSP icons. Xposed module called xMIUI allowed that, but as we all know there is no Xposed for Nougat.
And second question - can you set up a double tap for Recents button as 'switch to last app'? I can do that in most of other custom ROMs (as well as xMIUI module that I already mentioned).
Is it multilang?

I've just come from Dirty Unicorns and Pure Nexus on a 6P, and I've loved substratum for theming my phone. But... OOS would be legacy, I understand. Has anyone tried Subs on OP5, any recommendations? I've also seen a Magisk module for making legacy systemless. Anyone tried it? I don't feel like boot looping my new phone!
Also if I'm just rooted, can I install themes like swift black?
Don't use Substratum on OOS, rooted or not, I tried it and ended up having to restore the backup I'd made after it caused all sorts of complications, my advice? Wait for the custom roms to start appearing.

Thank you for saving me all sorts of trouble.
I tried "Navigate" to configure the navbar. Works without issues. But i wouldn't apply system wide themes. Like @djsubterrain said.
With root you can apply themes system wide that support OOS (I think only swift dark and black right now)
I did and it's working fine, full black apps and system.
If you're paranoid then you can just theme apps and use built in themer to make system black or white.
Does anyone tried ozone substratum?
im rooted and with sustratum working fine, im using swift black and inversion themes.

Yeah... I was always able to theme via substratum on all of my rooted devices, including oneplus 3 on stock.
The thing is, you generally, (lie 99% of the time) should not theme system ui or android system as that almost always results in a bootloop.
This is with the exclusion of themes specifically designed for oxygen os like k clock and swift dark
Sent from my Moto Z Play using XDA Labs
So I just need to be on stock rooted OP 5 with Subtranium installed to use Swift Dark on system ui?

Yes, that will do, I'm running that too. There is an option to enable OxygenOS 4 compatibility right under the logo. That will make sure that you have a compatible (a.k.a. none) SystemUI overlay

I use it for centered clock, QS Tiles 4 icons and Clear All (tasks) button on the left.
No problem so far.
I'm using Valerie as the main theme, and Big Blu to fill in things that Valerie doesn't do.
Also, Ozone for center clock and QS 5.
Fontio works with a .ttf file (or choose one of the provided fonts) if you use the flashable zip option - in the settings there's a place to create a restore zip, so do that first in case. Both files will be put on your internal memory in a Fontio folder.
edit: I forgot that the power menu doesn't work with this setup, so I made my own with Tasker/GMD.

Stock has the same substratum support as freedom Os... It's the legacy layers theming, so if you root stock, it will work the same way. Just install the substratum app from the store and try out. ?
fully working here, rooted with magisk and substratum is ok with theming everything, but yeah, like above, power menu doesn't work and if pressed it soft reboot phone... resolved installing material power menu
