Hi
Been trying to get the CM browser onto the stock rom (rooted) for a nexus 7 for my dad because he wants a home button (long story!!!!)
Anyway, when I started to try and sort it for him I tried various way having extracted the apk from CM 10.2. I have tried just installing it directly. Crashes!. I have tried installing the stock browser and then copying the apk after deleting into systems apps with same result.
Is it a simple thing that I am not doing or is it something not that straightforward.
Have tried it on my Nexus 4 too with the same result.
All this just for the sake of a home button on a browser :silly:
Any help or advice gratefully received.
Been trying to flash Android 9 based ROMs to my SM-N900V, always the same result. Tried lineage official, unofficial, as well as a couple others. I have latest TWRP for hltemo. I wipe everything but microSD, format data. Flash ROM, wipe Dalvik, flash gapps, wipe Dalvik then rebooting. Is there some other formatting I should be doing? Am I missing something?
Just tried latest lineage build, latest gapps, no difference. Still stuck on "Just a sec...." I guess I must be the only one with this problem? Thankfully not my primary phone any more.
Someone over on Reddit suggested removing /data/system/app-ops.XML, apparently that worked for them. Not me though ?

you have to be in a proper internet connection(or none at all, both works) during setup since it will prompt you to login with your google account
though alternatively, you can use different gapps packages like bitgapps where it doesnt have the setup wizard included(its optional if you need to backup contacts/messages through google) to bypass those, or find the setup wizard apk from /system/app or /system/priv-app and delete it yourself

Tried deleting the lineage setup wizard (actually I just renamed it). Tried flashing just the ROM with no gapps, that results in a blank screen with only volume buttons / reboot power off available.
Gave up, found an unofficial lineage 17.1 (!) for Note 3 & flashed it. Finally passed "Just a sec...."!!

lineage setup wizard is different to google's, los has their own setup wizard(including los-based roms like crdroid and ressurectionremix), so its likely to break if you remove it, whereas aosp-based roms(e.g. havoc and others) relies on google's own setup wizard
Okay so, ive tried every 6.0 ROM on the Shield forum for my portable and they all seem to have app crashing issues with the 6.0.1 pico Gapps (Setup, Play services, framework, play store all crashing, boot loops etc.)
I noticed i dont get these crashing errors whenever i boot the ROMs with no Gapps.
I spent hours and days researching why the crashing happens and ive seen things from "outdated/corrupted SU binary" to "incorrect permissions for 6.0.1 gapps" and i still dont know the cause.
SO i figured id try the apk route. i went to a certain APK site (not sure if we can link those) and grabbed every version for each gapp to see if i could get any of them installed. I found out when theres a corrupted app or incompatible app, android OS doesnt show the image for said APK/APP so i was able to weed out which apps would work.
Linked here are the apks i used to get the MM roms working with google/google apps again.
Install the PICO 6.0 GAPPS and then these APKs after getting into the OS to get going
The Pico-Apps are gonna make the initial boot time longer-- dont worry just let it load everything up (sometimes i had to button mash the shield button & home buttons to get past the boot animation-- sometimes it works and idky)
after installing all of the APKs, reboot the system, the OS is gonna initialize your apps again, might do it twice. after that youre good to go.

Hey, so I flashed my sm-t285 with the lineage 7.1.2 custom ROM and then i installed bcmon apk. But still, when I try to start the app, I'll just get a white screen and if run RFA afterward I'll get the error message asking if i installed bcmon the right way.
Can someone help me run bcmon?
If you mean this bcmon, then perhaps it is incompatible with android 7. Look for similar applications from the google store.
Before I flashed my phone, the bcmon app was running on my Android 5.1.1 phone
Hi there.
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have installed Lineage 18.1 onto my S7 as I am trying to modernise my S7 since I have to downgrade to it for a while. However the Wear app doesn't work (system modified in an unauthorised way.)
I have seen a couple of threads on how to deal with this. I have rooted the device with magisk 25.2.
I have attempted to edit the build.prop folders as per post 7 in this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/galaxy-wearable-app-on-rooted-phone-help.3838503/
However the wear app wont even install now. I think it is picking up that the device is rooted even though I have set magisk to hide itself and I have added samsung apps to the deny list. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
Alternatively I have see a thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-for-samsung-phones-with-custom-roms.4208143/ that describes how to patch samsung apps. From what I can tell I am unable to do this as I am on a Windows system and not Linux. Is it possible someone could patch the GALAXY FIT 2 plug ins and the latest wear apk? The patched wear apk installs on my device but refuses to run without an update and the update never completes. It errors out. Again I have a feeling the update is picking up the device is rooted.
Any assistance with this would be much appreciated.
