Is the galaxy s7 display scaling setting back on the s8? (hidden or not)

Hi,
does anyone knows if the display scaling option (like the one that should be shipping by default with any nougat phone) is available on the s8?
I watched some videos digging into the settings and didn't had the chance to confirm it was there, any info?
By the way I'm talking about this feature: http://www.androidcentral.com/fit-more-your-galaxy-s7s-screen-condensed-mode
Best!
I got the phone so I can now answer to myself : YES!
Yes, there are three options: HD, FHD+ and QHD.
Edit: I just now see OP answered his own thread, so my reply is kinda redundant :silly:

In fact I was talking about the screen "content density", not the rendered resolution.
Not sure if I'm clear, so I try to say it this way: the option allowing to display more content on screen is present.

Sorry mate can't do screenshots, I just returned mine, scrolling performance didn't meet my (OCD) expectations.

OP7Pro fingerprint animation

So, as when OP6T McLaren Edition was launched...
Is there a way to have the OP7Pro fingerprint animation in our 6Ts????
Probably wait for OOS 9.5 to arrive and then enable it from 4A settings DB editor if it's available

Where can I see these new animations?
Only the ripple seems to be slightly different otherwise they're the same animations so far
If you wait till I get my OP7 Pro (will be attending the popup event tomorrow). I'll port the fp animation to the 6t!

I got my subs theme ready for the 7 Pro, the 6T has way more frames, 174 compared to 80 from the 7 pro. I already sold my 6T, so it would be to much work renaming every file and make it match. So sorry, if OnePlus gives the 6t the same frames on the 9.5 update. Then I'll release my new version for it aswell.

He got his substratum theme ready for his 7 Pro, the OnePlus 6T has 174 frames for the fingerprint animation compared to 80 frames from the 7 pro. That's 174 file to rename and make the frame match exactly like the 7 pro animation. Matching 80 to 174 frames is a lot of work unless a new os update 9.5 brings down the frames of the 6t to 80. Then it will be easier to get the animation from the 7 pro.

Thanks for all you do for the Android community. That was quick work getting your subs theme rebuilt for the 7 pro plus I am surprised the frames have reduced as much as they have. However I suppose that efficiency at work. Thanks again!! #neversettle

Do custom roms have dc dimming?

Since the stock rom does not.
Next LineageOS 17.1 build will have it. Stay tuned.
I read somewhere that is a hardware related limitation of our device. Does not work in Amoled.

This is not the case. Xiaomi is unwilling to add dc dimming to the redmi k20 (mi 9t). Xiaomi has added dc dimming to many amoled screen devices previously released.
I hope xiaomi or a custom rom will add dc dimming. I now use Oled saver app.

I did try that app but it still flickers and gives me eye strain. Try record in slow motion with another phone and you can still see it.
I sold my device as I just can't wait any longer. I'm happy with my decision tho. Hope you guys get a solution soon too.

Unfortunately, Pig dropped it. It was causing fingerprint sensor issues.

Question 60HZ refresh rate on navigation apps

Hi everyone here,
just a question, do you have the problem that the refresh rate goes to 60hz when you run a navigation app like google maps or it's just me?
Known issue unfortunately. All we can do is wait
