Got phone from my friend, phone bootloops even after flashing - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

I got this Xiaomi Redmi 2 (Model Name 2014817) and it bootloops whenever it's attached to a charger. It continues to do this until I remove the battery or it runs out of charge.
I followed a guide to fix the bootlooping problem, but it still doesn't work. It still bootloops, and exhibits the same problems as before. What do I do?

Try replacing the battery.

Redmi 2 doesnt turn on until and unless it is connected to a charger.

Hey Guys,
My phone gets stuck in a bootloop if I don't use a charger while turning it on. Actually, doesn't even get past the splash screen and reboots every 1 to 2 seconds. I also need to connect it to the charger to access TWRP. Normally, when I disconnect the charger after the phone has turned on, the phone suddenly turns off. But when I do the same when I'm in TWRP, nothing happens and I can continue using it without any problems. I'll put the logs if you neeed. And yes, I don't need the charger to get into fastboot mode. I'm currently on lineage 15.1 unofficial but the problem persists over other roms too. Please help...
Change the battery
It's the battery , which is under performing with the voltage needed to run the rom process,
That's why you are able to use with charger and got bootloop without charger. In twrp or any recovery mode most of the hardware is disabled and does not need much power.
Telling you with personal experiences

Bootloop after a certain battery level

i have asus zenfone 5 with unlocked bootloader and TWRP 3.2. Any rom i flash hangs and gets into bootloop. i then formatted data and i am facing lesser hangs and bootloop but it still hangs and gets into bootloop after a certain battery level
i have flashed ViperOS and phone gets into bootloop at 50% battery. what to do??
although phone works fine while charger is plugged.

Rn7 global died all by itself

The phone rebooted by it self, no firmwareupdate going on, just random reboot.
Got stuck on redmi logo.
Could reboot and get fastboot, but could not flash original fastboot rom, got errors. a normal reboot gave only redmi logo.
Now the phone is out of power, not taking charge, not powering on.
Anyone have any solution for this problem? Or any tips? The phone is stone dead
Not sure if this will help...
here's my random reboot thread and fix
Well, i have no simcards or sd-cards inserted.
And its not charging or turning on. volume up and down + power is not making any results.
The weird thing is that it said "redmi" on the display for about 24 hours draining the power, and after it died out of power i'm unable to do anything with it. its basically a brick.
This happened totally random. just a spontaneous reboot into a never ending redmilogo.
During redmilogo i had the posibility to get it into fastboot by rebooting it, but mi flash would not accept the phone. so another reboot into regular boot ended in infinite redmilogo again :|
Your phone's bootloader unlocked?
Nope
Did you try keeping it charged for a while? Device might not show any sign (charging indication) but the battery will get charged eventually (I guess).
Charge it well and try to SIDELOAD that FASTBOOT IMAGE via PC..
It loooks like its bricked all by itself. i left it in charger for days.
I got contact with the phone with mi flash, but it has gone into some authentication mode with the flashing, so i'm not possible to reflash rom without authorization.
Read about this on reddit, and it seems like a dealer has to look at it.

Asus Zenfone max pro M2 (X01BD) turns off after Asus and Android logo

Just yesterday it was all fine, i was watching video on YouTube. Phone was connected to charger. Then suddenly device turned off by itself and showed charging animation.
1. Tried to turn on but it turned off by itself.
2. Tried formatting.
3. Tried different versions of the rom (pixel experience), shows Android and Asus logo and device turns off.
4. Tried flashing stock rom but same story again.
5. Tried changing recovery but same again.
6. Tried flashing firmware image.
7. Recovery doesn't show any errors.
8. No errors while deleting partitions.
9. Everything perfectly flashes without any errors.
10. Charging is perfectly working fine without any issues.
I have the same same problem. Still not tried to flash it, but when tried to format, it reboot while procesing and turn off
Now trying to acces it from PC
please help us!
Thank you
HI, finally understood my problem: the criminal was a chinese battery, not bringing power enough. Replaced battery, problem solved. Yeah
Hey, forgot to thank you man, it really worked for me, I replaced my phone's battery with new one and the phone now works fine. Thanks a lot.

Phone suddenly froze then stuck on logo next boot

My note 4 suddenly froze when I'm using it normally, I had to take out battery then boot up again, now just won't pass the logo Samsung screen, download mode still work but when I tried flashing stock rom it just keep stucking at logo screen ((
I cannot enter recovery mode either, same stucking at logo. Please help, I want to know if my phone can still be saved or should I let it rest forever. Thank you.
Try to change the battery, galaxy note 4 is infamous for its boot loop because of battery failure. I've had experienced it.

I was thinking the same.
Only thing is he got away with (?) flashing it whick would indicate reserve battery capacity.
Regardless replace old or degraded batteries before they cause issues especially Li's. Just part of necessary routine maintenance...
