I received it today on global version.
Turned off digital well being and other unnecessary stuff but battery drains noticeably more than MIUI 10.
Any advice?
I had the same after Charge to 100% is everything good maybe a little bit better as on 10

Some people say that MIUI 11 enables Autostart for every app, take a look at that in the settings and keep enables only the apps you need.
Actually, I noticed that battery drains a lot less when screen is off, which is a very good thing.
the only one issue i had with miui11 is digital wellbeing, i can't disable it.... but nothing to worry about, root access did the job!
I'll try charging it to 100% and see if there is any improvement with battery.
I didn't see any change in autostart setting on my phone.
But what I noticed is USAGE ACCESS setting changes back to ALLOWED for digital wellbeing, system launcher, Google play services, and device health services after I disallowed them. Very annoying. This is under Digital wellbeing -> turn off usage access -> then disallow for all the apps. Not sure if it gets reseted for above mentioned 4 apps after reboot or after sometime. Is root only way to fix this? Prefer not to root.

You can remove it via adb, ,,
I've figured out auto start in issue isn't the ones under permissions. It only shows up after you run security scan and click on solve problems. I had 26 apps which were allowed to auto start. None of them were allowed under permissions. This doesn't make sense to me. Anyways I disabled all 26 auto start. Hopefully this solves the heat and battery drain issues.
Even after disabling all the auto starts, battery drains quicker than miui10. I thought better battery performance was one of MIUI 11's selling points. Not happy with it at all.
I'm thinking of deleting TalkBack and digital wellbeing using adb. Had anybody done it? Safe to remove them?

Yes I've done it, I removed digital wellbeing and some other apps and all its ok, I'm getting about 10 hours sot right now.
How you have 10 hour sot ?????
Well it's reverse on my side.
After downloading OTA package from xda of Miui 11.0.5.0 and I updated it. Now my battery drain is completely stopped and In miui 10 my battery was draining so much but now it's gone.

Hello to everyone.
I know that there are some similar threads in this forum, but no one is strictly related to the CM9 alpha IML74K.
I know as well that this could be part of the CM9 user discussion thread, but I'd like to share the best settings to get a good battery life with our S2 in a clean thread.
So, please:
no trolls, no dumb questions.
Just share your own experience (with a battery screenshot should be better).
Thanks a lot.
Here we go:
Developer options:
Debug usb off
Allow mock locations off
Force GPU rendering off
Windows animation scale off
Transition animation scale off
Don't keep activities on
Background process limit on
Kill app back button on
Display:
Automatic brightness off (I'm using Brightness Level widget)
Black wallpaper (search for solid black.png from wikipedia)
Sleep after 1 minute of inactivity.
Pulse notification light off.
Trebuchet options:
Scroll wallpaper off
Sync settings:
Google account
Sync calendar on
Sync Contacts on
Sync Gmail on
Whattsapp account:
Sync Contacts on
Sound Settings:
Touch sounds off
Screen lock sounds off
Vibrate on touch off
Location services:
Google's location service on
Location & Google search on
(Gps satellites on only when using Sygic or Maps)
Date and time:
Automatic date & time off
Automatic time zone off
CyanogenMod Settings app v1.0:
Interface Settings/Expanded view widget
Toggle 2G/3G checked
Toggle Mobile data checked
For a quick switch to 2G mode and save more battery.
Testing "twek levels and filtering" in automatic backlight settings.
With Titanium Backup:
Frozen all live wallpapers, tts services and uninstalled Gtalk and mail.
P.S. Be careful, you need debug usb on when using Titanium Backup
Data on all the day. I turn it off when I go to bed.
Wireless on when I'm home and need to use dropbox or download a big file from my Gmail account.
I'm using CM9 01062012 (I know, there's a new one, but I've reached a very stable daily rom, no FC, no random reboots, fast and smooth).
Modem XXKL1
Now my battery lasts two days.
Well, when my girlfriend tells me stories about her life, it lasts one day and a half.
Important:
I've uninstalled Facebook app which was causing a battery drain. I'm using the mobile web page instead and I've to tell that it is faster.
Other apps installed:
Twitter, Maps, Sygic, Whattsapp, Beatiful widgets (with manual weather update), Xda premium, ...
2012-01-14 Added CyanogenMod Settings Apk v1.0 (from SGS forums)
How to install:
Download it to your internal SD card
Enter into Recovery mode;
Wipe cache;
Advanced settings, wipe dalvik cache;
Flash zip from Sdcard,
Choose CMSettings.zip and flash it.
Reboot system
2011-01-18 Update:
I've been trying few modems and I've found the best one for me: (Vodafone Spain, data on almost all the time, good signal quality, great battery life)
NEKD5 Modem Zip package.
Flash from recovery. Follow cmsettings instructions.
Nice post. Going to try some your suggestions.
I'm sure loads of other xdaers are going find this useful too.
So many posts in the cm9 discussion thread about battery life and how to achieve optimum performance good to have a thread about it.
Big props

Apparently its a bug. It makes the OS look like its working over time but actually it won't be. Its somewhere in the cm discussion thread if you want to see the posts about it. As far as aware its not fixed yet with any of the builds.

The same here. But I've noticed that using Fastreboot app, it seems to kill/restart stuck apps/processes.
Anyway, rebooting the system before the night helps a lot.
Unless you're not a modern vampire...
Agree with others - excellent thread. There seem to be so many battery challenges with CM9 that a separate thread will lessen clutter in the discussion thread.
I've tried a number of your settings and have also flashed the KL1 modem. I had high hopes for KP4 at first, but it seems to have slipped back into old habits!

The app and the process are still running after you close them.
I have tried to logout, but it's still there. I think the process keeps going for notifications and photo uploading.
I've tried to kill it, but it comes back after few seconds.
Finally I gave up and used the mobile web page.

But that isn't related to CM9, i had the same issues on gingerbread.
Yes, sir.
I knew it.
But it seems to me that Facebook app is eating more battery on ICS.
Checked my battery info and found out FB app percentage was 15% in 6 hours and I've used it just to read few messages. Then I've logged out.
I could be wrong, but I think it needs an update to control battery drain.
Indeed. I'll bet there are a host of apps that will need subtle tweaks and optimisations for ICS. Another reason not to expect too much from CM9 in terms of performance as yet...although access to kernal sources is obviously the big one!
CM settings
Trying right now CyanogenMod Settings app.
Flashable zip from recovery. The apk goes to /system.
It comes from GTi9000 forum and as I can see, it works perfectly on my S2.
It doesn't have so many options, but few are very important.
Let's have a look...
I'd be very interested on your feedback on this app.
On a different subject, I seem to have my battery back behaving reasonably well again with KP1 modem. In my tons of testing it seems like Nova Launcher - as much as I like it - is a significant contributor to my battery drain issues.
This could be because I have installed a bunch more stuff on Nova than I have with Trebuchet, so my next tactic is to gradually reintroduce some of my favourite widgets to Trebuchet to see if one of them suddenly starts killing my battery.
On the down side it may mean that I can't use one of my widgets for a while but on the plus side it may eliminate Nova as a battery drain meaning that I can go back to using it.
Have you tried FBM for facebook?
Basically the same look as the facebook app. But supposedly a lot cleaner!

As I said before, don't expect a very useful app. It's the 1.0 version, and hopefully it will be a great app. But for now I've tried only some settings in the automatic backlight and modified the notification power widget.
At the moment, that's all we have. Anyway, give it a try, if you'd like.
Screenshots added in the first post.
Anyone able to disable button's backlight? Its still on even though i set it to "0" in the custom settings..
Another thing,is it possible to the haptic feedback tweaks like in cm7 settings?
Back from some modem testings, I'd like to say that NEKD5 has surprised me.
Never loosing data at all, best battery life and no problem with sms and sync.

Hello, fine sirs.
I am curious on whether or not you have experienced the issue of calling apps such as Whatsapp or Kakao Talk shutting down after a few hours of use?
I like to sleep with the app still on, but after say 3-5 hours it shuts off automatically.
The apps are white-listed and battery is set to Performance. Neither of these options seem to help.
I don't have any other battery-managment apps installed which may shut down my battery consuming apps.
Any ideas?
Edit: I realize now this question may belong to Troubleshooting subforum. =/ But until deleted, I'll keep an eye here! Cheers.

Hi, that's some very specific information you've acquired! My version is NXT-L29C432B170, therefore one of the ones you've listed as should be working.
Still, if I don't access my phone after 3-4 hours as to "tell" it I still use the voice program, it closes. Sadly.

Then you have to try the newest L29C636B180 rom... You can install very easy with dload method(without root or unlocked bootloader) but you have to know that you will loose OTA update, online themes and 3g - 4g icons only with data closed (when you activate data the icons working perfectly)... But whenever new update for your version(C432) show up you can install it back with dload method and everything will work again (OTA THEMES...)
I have B180 almost a month and everything working great (my version is C636) and notifications... Unless you will have to wait at end of May for B321 to come as update to Europe version (C432) Now only Chinese AL10 has get it....
It's critical to know that every time you update you will have to restore the phone (format) to make sure that everything is set up for andand with new version
I have the L29C636B180 update.
I will note: Notifications for applications are coming more frequently now.
I also note [on the bad side]: Two of my essential apps that rely on automation & wake locks are not functioning properly.
a) Applications are in Battery Manager → Protected Apps
b) Applications are 'Allowed' in → Ignore Battery Optimizations
c) Battery Power Plan: Performance
My 2 applications which relies on timers and wake locks to enable/disable certain features have noted. Their applications are being killed & restarted despite being "whitelisted". They are:
a) Silence Premium
b) Situations
I have a Oneplus One on Marshmallow 6 and this does not happen. What is wrong with Huawei? What is wrong with EMUI. I should not have decided to buy a piece of hardware with software from PROC.
Is someone @huawei actually trying to reach out and fix issues??
Hi,
I really don't understand how the doze system works on android marshmallow. I mean, it kills apps that I need, and leaves on apps that I need killed. I have done all the battery optimization exceptions from settings->apps, I have excluded and included in the keep alive after screen lock option in battery manager, nothing is working how it should be.
I want apps like Tasker and Automate It to work when i close the screen, but even if I exclude them from all things that could kill them, they work for only about 2 minutes and then bye bye.
Is there a setting I missed, or maybe an app that keeps them alive, or maybe some root underground terminal emulator magic I can do to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance.

It's not Doze that sucks so much, it's EMUI's power management. It's overly aggressive in killing apps.

You're probably right, even though they fixed this in EMUI 5.0, but I don't like Nougat because it has an annoying bug, so maybe there's a fix to this for MM. I'll try to write to them too.

At random times, my screen won't turn on when I unlock it. I can hear the unlock sound, receive phone calls and probably use all other phone functions, but my screen stays black. I have to force-restart the phone in order for the screen to work again. It probably is a problem with my phone, but I'm too lazy to send it to warranty.

It kills apps because the device cant handle it. Its 1.5GB of RAM on a 4 year old budget device not a new flagship which has tons of RAM and is able to keep apps open.

My Pushbullet and FB Messenger messages are severely delayed after I switched to the 8 Pro. I've made sure to disable RAM boost, also disabling any battery optimizations for said apps. Yet, most of the time, I don't receive any messages until I manually open the app in question. Not sure what else I should change or if this is a system issue. I never had these issues on my OP6 and used the same settings there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've done that too. So strange that it didn't help. And seeing that it affects Pushbullet, Messengern and Whatsapp tells me it's not specifically app related.
I too have noticed issues with this, sometimes they come through exactly at the right time and other times I have to wake the screen before they then proceed to come through. It seems the battery optimisation settings are quite harsh on wake-locks out the box.
Remove each app from optimization. You should be able to find the app, and it's the settings app and then turn it off per app.

As I said in my original post, I've disabled the battery optimizations for the affected apps, but to no avail.
I may have found the cause and the solution to this, but it's still too early to tell. Most of my apps are restored using TiBu, coming from my previous OP6. I've uninstalled and reinstalled some of the problematic apps clean, not restoring app data with TiBu, but rather from the Play Store. I'm amazed that the app data is automatically restored upon app installation, given that the app itself allows it.
This seems to have done the trick, Pushbullet, Messenger and others seem to be giving me notifications instantly. I did have to disable battery optimization on those apps once more. I'll report back later.
Maybe a dalvik-cache and cache wipe would suffice, I have no idea.
The push notifications are extremely late if the phone remains quite unused, I have set the best but I cannot solve the problem. I need to take gmail emails in real time and this is a serious problem for me, have you found any solutions?
