T510 - Consistent Lag and Update Issues - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Hey everyone! I'm trying to troubleshoot a friend's Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1, 2019 model. I've been having some serious lag on some applications, and hibernating apps doesn't seem to fix the issue. Running the logcat command through adb outputs a reoccurring error:
Code:
E CASS : Can't open modem boot (/dev/umts_boot0) with -1, err : No such file or directory
I don't know if that's the culprit, but in apps like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and AVG Antivirus, the lag is noticeable. It even affects smaller apps such as Greenify. I've been working on this for days without much success. What is my problem?

Bumping my own thread, as this is happening again. What causes this?

I am not able to update any apps, and the lag is driving me crazy. Here is the output of logcat related to "Finsky", or Google Play. This message keeps being repeated over and over.

These apps do exist on the device, and they are still able to be launched when we tap the icons in the app menu, but Google Play does not see them. How can this be fixed?
The last time this happened, I think I flashed the Stock ROM again to overwrite whatever was causing the problems without erasing user data. I've since forgotten how I did that.

So after uninstalling a bunch of apps, the tablet runs more smoothly. Is it the mass amount of apps that are causing this?

I would recommend installing either the LineageOS or Nexus Stock mod on this forum. Much better performance. Right now there is only a 32bit version, but a 64bit build is in the works as we speak. Still much faster than stock. By a lot. Also try the infinity 2.0 kernel.

Issue is happening again, but I've started a new thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/samsung-devices-how-to-see-os-update-history.4358483/

radio issues with ROM port

Ok, so in my 'spare' time, I decided to try and port an old 1.5 ROM that's kind of nice. Also, I recently tried helping someone else do the same with another ROM. This is really all in fun and to learn stuff as much as anything. I would like to get it working though. But the radio won't work no matter what I've done. I've done the 'normal' things...
1)build.prop has the following that seem to be related to the radio:
rild.libpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril.so
ro.ril.default.modem-type=2
ro.cdma.data_retry_config = max_retries=infinite,0,0,60000,120000,480000,900000
ro.telephony.default_network = 4
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric = 310012
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha = Verizon
ro.ril.htcmaskw1.bitmask = 4294967295
ro.ril.htcmaskw1 = 268449905
ro.cdma.data_retry_config = max_retries=infinite,0,0,60000,120000,480000,900000
ro.ril.oem.ecclist=911,*911,#911
2) I copied 'libhtc_acoustic.so' and 'libhtc_ril.so' from stock
3) The kernel is from stock.
4) I renamed the device specific init.xxxxx.rc to init.desirec.rc and compared it with the stock one. Anything that appeared to be related to the radio, I copied over. Maybe I missed something?
5) I tried it with the stock 'libril.so' and the one from the original ROM.
6) also copied Audio* from /system/etc in stock ROM
Any ideas? Here's the output from 'adb logcat -b radio' (nice to know about, btw) using the original libril.so. It was different using the one from stock.

"Unrecognized RIL_RadioState: 8" apparently means "/* Radio is on, but the NV interface is not available */" (http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=pl...ff;h=f4c4d36c410a3501d282dd7de1c7c3350734f27e)
I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated.
Well now... So, I looked at the source for libril, which is 'ril.cpp' and found that the Cupcake version only has 5 different states for RIL_RadioState. Donut+ has 10... So, Cupcake is not going to know anything about state 8.
It's entirely possible that I'm barking up the wrong tree. I have no idea why there would be some code in there from anything other than Cupcake. I took two Cupcake based ROMs, one stock and one long abandoned.
Anyway. More fun!

Error 911 in Google Play Store

I have tried three times to download Magic 2014, and it gets through the entire 1.46 GB download including supplemental data, and then pops up a message:
Magic 2014 could not be downloaded due to an error. (911)
And just like that, the entire download is lost.
Any thoughts? I found what I believe is the appropriate logcat segment. My tablet had about 7-8 GB free when I started the download.

I have yet to find a solution, however, I did succeed in downloading it instead from the Amazon Appstore.

you can try refreshing google play store by clearing it's data, and cache..

PLEASE HELP! Bricked Moto X Pure [boot up fail][failed to mount /cache][fail I/O

I've been searching everywhere on how to potentially fix my issue but one day I installed Xposed Framework with Magisk Manager and the next thing you know it, my phone suddenly shut off and restarted (and now constantly) "Boot up failed" Refer to Verizon software assistant to upgrade, something like that but now matter what I do, I am unable to flash signed stock images in the boot-loader even though my boot-loader is unlocked and the software status says: Modified with a Number 3.
I am able to erase cache but unable to erase userdata in fastboot. I am able to do "boot boot TWRP.img" but when I go to "Format or Wipe Data, Dalvik-Cache, System, it give me a "successful" message but fails to mount /cache and /data. I have tried every possible option and no luck. I will post my recovery below and see if anyone is able to assist me before I destory this phone without knowing my true issue. It's almost like my bootloader is locked and fails to secure boot and device lock bypassing.

Need Fossil Gen 6 OTA URL

Does anyone know the URL of the latest Fossil Gen 6 OTA image file?
What is the code name of fossil gen 6?
I believe the Gen 6's codename is hoki. At least, that's what ro.product.device is set to.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/twrp-twrp-for-fossil-gen-6-aka-hoki.4474863 I managed to build the TWRP recovery. Still some bugs, but you can install magisk
I have two more OTA urls:
- https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/aa51cebed7932ebf5ad1717595e13c609bb4a71b.zip (PFHD.211201.010 -> PFHD.211201.019)
- https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/a569fe07dfdcb4edea85f9535d592b9af4621cd1.zip (PFHD.211201.019 -> RFHC.220929.012)
These were taken from a brand new Fossil Gen 6 (hoki)
The previously shared link from @maassi0076 appears to be broken.
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/230d380c72f87f94cbd4e43b944afd70700d6ffd.zip (PFHD.211201.017) seems to be identical and works fine on my end.

Any chance I could get some guidance on how to flash these? I haven't been able to successfully flash anything over fastboot or from TWRP and am a bit lost now.
Another user and I are both interested over in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/fossil-gen-6-flashing-wear-os-2-instead-of-wear-os-3.4509785/
How are you able to get those URLs? I couldnt without rooting my watch. @MagneFire
At any chance, do you guys know how to convert system.new.dat / system.patch.dat / system.transfer.list from the OTA ? I need system.img to fastboot it (watch bricked)

I don't think you can flash these directly, unless your base system matches the expected signature of the OTA image. Remember that the links I posted only consists of delta's/binary diffs.
Standalone they might not be that useful.

Without updating I did a factory reset and enabled USB debugging during the setup (before it has a network connection).
Then it's just a matter of gathering a complete adb logcat. The OTA url is listed in there.
Here is an example:

I have a complete dump of version RFHC.221031.015
However I would recommend to make a complete backup of the entire filesystem using TWRP:https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/twrp-twrp-for-fossil-gen-6-aka-hoki.4474863/
Here's part of the dump: https://we.tl/t-Yqnp1gH1ne
Let me know if you need more partitions (and use at your own risk, I haven't tested them).

i fooled around few days ago and wasnt able to backup my partitions (lol) edit : i went the YOLO mode and didnt backup
You are probably my savior because i was dead a$$ stuck with these system compressed files
Would you mind sending the 13 others partitions ? this way i ensure every partition is from the same wear OS version ?
Thanks a lot !!
