Bricked Redmi Note 7 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hello,
A friend of mine bricked her Redmi Note 7 (she doesn't knows what she did to brick it) and I'm trying to fix it but I have this problem:
I plug the phone to the charger and it shows the ray logo for 1 second > Redmi By Xiaomi logo > Reboots > ray logo > and again.
-I tried to boot into Recovery using Vol Up + Power but it never reaches TWRP / Mi Recovery, it continues doing the same as described before.
-I can boot to fastboot mode connecting the phone to the PC and pressing Vol Down but it reboots again and shows the ray logo for around 30-45 secs. (while pressing Vol Down) and I can reach the fastboot mode but Windows (7 x64 / 10 x64) doesn't detect it and after I get into fastboot mode it reboots after 15 secs. and starts doing the same.
Does anyone have any hint?
Thanks,
Charly.

Thanks for your response, the PC doesn't detect it at all, it's not a driver thing (i had the same PC when I had a Mi A1 and I flashed it OK several times). :crying:

DEAD Xiaomi Redmi 2

Hello, today i shutted off my xiaomi redmi2 and it shutted off normally.
But it doesnt start back again at all, i tried another battery and i tried charging the phone for several hours straight.
Testpoint method does not work and when i connect the phone to windows 10 pc it just keeps dissconnecting and connecting again several partitions (i think it is linux composite device, ive seen it in another snapdragon phones in the past)
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this phone ?
Btw at the time this happend i was on global stable miui, but the phone was previously running ressurection remix with stock kernel.
u have try to boot into fastboot or recovery?
if u boot in both then u can flash stock rom.. and fix this problem....
I assume you have Redmi 2 snapdragon variant since you have flashed global rom. Try to boot into fastboot mode by pressing Vol Down + Power. Download fastboot rom for redmi 2. Link
and minimal adb and fastboot Link
Extract the fastboot rom file with winrar (.tgz) and you will get a folder named "wt88047..........." inside that folder, there will be a subfolder named images. Extract minimal adb and fastboot to the wt88047 folder. It should look like this:
http://postimg.org/image/3r2hg2nhj
Run any .bat and fastboot process will start
Thanks for replies but it is completely hard bricked, i cant access recovery, fastboot and bootloader and the phone is not booting
Just some help

So if its not going into fastboot then it must be the battery's problem or (the one i faced)DEAD SCREEN...if you feel vibration but no display then its probably just the dead screen.
There's no solution for it at home, u have to visit service centre.
If you have a custom rom installed, then switch back to factory to bring back warranty.
As said before, if it vibrates but no display the phone's still working(just the display is gone). Reboot into fastboot mode by VOL DOWN+POWER or VOL DOWN and insert usb while keeping the button pressed.. then go to the folder where you have extracted fastboot.exe and then SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK> Open Command Window Here...a cmd window opens up the type in:- fastboot devices...
If there's an output then your device is connected.....Later reply to this if that works
Thanks i will try it
@Blazerstriker Thank you very much, the phone went to fastboot and i fixed it
Hi. I have same problem but get no output from c:\adb> fastboot devices. Pressing vol- and power does nothing. With phone connected to Windows 10 pc by USB I get connecting and disconnecting sounds over and over but phone does not show up.

Pull the battery out, put it back in and connect the phone to pc while it is powered off and when you are connecting it hold the vol-
That is the only thing that worked for me

Try jump starting it. Just remove the battery and connect the phone to the charger for 5 sec (mi logo will appear but the phone won't start) and then just insert the battery and press and hold the power and volume down key when you see charging logo and navigate to fastboot mode and flash the stock ROM.
Nope

After removing the battery and plugging in the charger, mi logo is not appearing. Instead, fastboot mode is getting opened and the loop starts until you unplug the cable.

[HELP] My phone won't turn on at all after bootloader unlock attempt(completely dead)

Hi,
Tonight, I tried unlocking my bootloader with adb. I did the usual thing (OEM Unlock on, USB debugging enabled, adb devices, fastboot oem unlock). However when I tried fastboot oem unlock, it says < waiting for any device >. I tried installing the USB driver that came with the phone when you plug it to PC. I tried fastboot oem unlock again and same result. I googled it a little bit and I found that you need to enter fastboot mode. So I decided to power off the device and boot into fastboot mode. However, when I tried Vol Up + Power button combo, it won't enter fastboot mode at all. There's no 1+ splash logo or anything, it just won't turn on at all.
The device was connected to my laptop and I noticed a driver was being installed on my laptop as the device was being turned off. It was QCOM BULK or something. Now whenever I connect my phone to my laptop, it's detected as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008(COM7). adb devices won't list my device now. I also tried other button combination (vol down + power button, vol up + power button, just power button, vol up + vol down + power, etc) and my phone won't boot at all.
I'm extremely sure it isn't hardware or liquid damage, because the phone was working 100% flawlessly before I powered off my phone with OEM unlock enabled condition.
Please help me, I literally just got this device 4 days ago. I don't want to brick a 4 days old $550 device. I saved up all my money to get this phone. There's no official OnePlus service center in my country, so I probably need to send it to other country to fix it which will be very expensive and I won't have phone to use for weeks.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
EDIT: I tried charging the phone for 15 minutes, it still won't turn on
EDIT 2: MY DEVICE IS FIXED! I fixed it by holding vol up + power button for a few minutes. I really thought it was dead, that was the most intense 2 hours of 2019 lol. Thank you to whoever wrote this thread -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/help/soooo-tmo-variant-6t-bricked-simple-t3866487/page2
You should not be trying to unlock your bootloader via adb. The unlock process is done via fastboot.
And before you attempt any fastboot operation, type fastboot devices in your terminal screen and hit enter to see if your phone is detected.
I had this problem and power with vol + for about 3-5 sec will reboot

This, but my phone was like 15 seconds.
if the above options dont work, you can try the MSMDownloadTool. That should reflash everything on the phone and let it boot. There is a walkthrough for it somewhere on the forum. Not sure which section though.

MI 9T not going to fastboot or recovery

My phone is being stuck at Mi logo while installing stock ROM . I can't access fastboot/recovery with keys. The device boots and stuck at Mi logo and fastboot/recovery doesn't show up . I already tried those methods and didn't worked .
Try to Press all 3 button(vol up+down+power) overthan 1 min
Hold the volume (both +&-) and power key when you see the mi logo. Then as soon as the screen goes off just release the power button while holding the volume keys.
Please help me finding a solution.

Are you sure you've installed the right firmware? How did you install it? Only thing that comes to my mind would be Mi Tool 2 if you haven't tried it.

Need help with bricked redmi 7a

so i need to somehow revive my redmi 7a from its grim state. Everything started with scuffed attempt at downloaded system update that resulted in a loop of turn on-update up to some %-freeze-repeat. when i tried to do something with it it resulted in total hard-lock. all my phone can do now is turn on greet me with a logo screen with android at the bottom then that same screen without the android logo and it stays there for indefinite amount of time. fastboot's not opening so does recovery mode, all that i can do is turn it on and stare at the logo screen. please somebody help

does this mean you have tried the power-button + volume-up to enter recovery mode and the power-button + volume-down to enter fastboot-(bootloader-)mode?
i once had success with a bricked redmi by pressing the combinations for about 3 minutes until it managed to enter recovery mode. and make sure that your phone is completely full charged.
have you already tried the "Mi_Flash2020" application for Windows? here is the link: https://c.mi.com/in/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
rom files if needed: https://c.mi.com//miuidownload/detail?device=1900369
maybe the "miflash_unlock..." application could also help you. i think it uses fastboot but give it a try. here is the link: https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html (if you have unlocked bootloader make sure you to uncheck the "lock device" option at the bottom)
more questions if you can't solve it:
is twrp installed?
was there an original miui rom intalled?
was it a ota update?
