How to enable gyroscope in moto G5 plus. - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

Can anybody help me how to enable compass sensor in Moto G5 plus in rooted device.
So that it can help in games like pubg.

g5 plus doesn't have gyroscope
My bad, I confused it with compass. Sorry.

It supports gyroscope, but not compass.

There is no compass. The Moto G5+ has a gyroscope https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyroscope
but no compass.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compass
The gyroscope should be enabled by default.
About custom ROM: You'll have to test it. For me stock is the best.

We can use compass by flashing kernels or flashing Revenge os v2.3.
I have seen in YouTube.

Are you sure? As far as I know, the compass in a mobile phone is a magnetometer which is a piece of hardware, a small chip.

Yeah I also know it is a hardware.
I thought there is a way to trick our phone.

Me? I said that a mobile compass is hardware, no way to make it work when it's not there.
In your linked vids it's more about the gyroscope for a specific mobile game where it doesn't work as it should?
I can't say anything about that cause I don't play that game. The gyroscope is in fact working on the Moto G5+, you can check that with DevInfo (see screenshot) or another app like that. If it's not working good enough in your game it's up to you to decide if it's worth to flash a whole ROM and a kernel to (hopefully) make it work. A lot of action and risk for a game cause you don't know if the ROM is free of bugs or the device runs laggy with another kernel. And you have no guarantee that it really solves the problem.
Your decision.
Anyway, make a full nandroid backup before you flash anything if you will give that stuff a shot.

[REVIEW] Moto G Motorola vs Moto G Google Edition

Moto G Google Play Edition hands-on vs Motorola’s G

When we heard about the Moto G being offered as a Google Play Edition handset, we immediately scratched our heads in wonder. Why would Google offer a device from their own store with the exact same price as the original device when the software is essentially the same? The answer lies in Google's unique plan, the one where they hand-pick the most appealing devices in the market and sell them themselves - all other matters pale when shown in the face of this Google Play Edition long-term goal.
What you've got here is a device that's essentially the same as what we saw in our original Moto G Review. There we found this 720p 4.5-inch display atop a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor working with great everyday action. It takes photos well, it works with essentially every app you could possibly want to work with, and it's got a replaceable back cover for fashion-friendly change-outs.
Here with the Moto G Google Play Edition, the differences are software-deep. There aren't any Motorola apps right out of the box - this includes Moto Assist (read a bit more about this in our original Moto G hands-on), Motorola Migrate, and Motorola's "Help" app. The camera is Google's standard camera now, instead of Motorola's, giving you a few different abilities as well.

You won't be working with Google's Photosphere shooter in this machine's camera because the Moto G doesn't have the gyroscope needed to run such a feature. You'll be able to take photos with this camera's connection to your volume button, but it's not quite so easy to zoom - if you're into that sort of thing.

The GPE Moto G is being sold in the US and is most likely the US (AWS) version.

Doesn't mean it will work. HTC One FM app doesn't work on Htc One GPE.
Google has a habit of at least disabling in software (HTC One, Nexus One), if not hardware (the rest).
They just omit a shared library or framework file or two.
I'd bet software disabling of FM is part of the GPE contract requirements.
I'd be interested to see how much free space there is in the GPE version. With less bloatware and no moto services they might have reduced the size of the /system partition, giving us some extra space for user data,
This would be particularly welcome on the 8GB version.
Amazon doesnt get the GPE editions, correct?
^ this would be interesting
+
NO GEL by default.
But I would definetly install the firmware from GPE edition on my Moto G

LG Camera for AOSP question

I love AOSP, concept. But the lost of the LG stock camera, is keeping me "attached" to stock firmware. Is anyone working in porting the stock G3 camera to AOSP. If not, I think that we need a good developer as a volunteer for this work. I'm pret tu sure that the estire G3 community would really thankful in that case.
It might a good I idea to have a idea of the people interested in supporting this project.
If you find to have the Stock camera in AOSP is worthy, please vote +1. May be if you are enough, one of our talented developers, get interested in this project.
Thanks in advance.
:fingers-crossed:

I know that because i implemented it to freedcam.

So far, at least, at broad-day light, I cannot see any significant difference in quality among Stock AOSP, Google, Lenovo and Stock G2 camera.

If you test with low light and try HDR you will see that it does not work.
The only HDR implementation currently working is with stock roms...
low light with non stock camera app is *&#**@ !!!!!
that g2 camera is taking picture well .. i hope someone fix dpi setting .. at least it'll be full screen
I'm on Cyanogen Rom and happy with the AOSP camera. I'm not an avid camera user and don't use stuff like 4k.

Yeah, apparently only the G3 (possibly only the Verizon variant) was affected by this. It's a shame, I love CM.
I should clarify, it will wake when double tapped but the proximity sensor will not keep the screen off if covered and tapped. This leads to endless pocket-wakes.

I was thinking the finger should be on motorola's Back M it can better than moving finger ahead bottom like samsung and iphone
If 240 euros is the actual price, this phone will be a joke.Lenovo K5 plus has snapdragon 616(less overheating 615) and its 120 euros(150 in some countries).Anyway, its still not sure that it will use sd615.I read somewhere that it will have 2 versions-with sd430 and sd650(if thats true, then it will be right priced).
Also, its easy to see that the fingerprint is photoshopped.

The leaks seems to have some credibility because part of it was right, so I think it's likely we'd have a version with a fingerprint sensor. Although I wonder if it'd be for select countries like the Moto g turbo

ZTE Axon 7 Enhanced... what are your thoughts?

Hi Guys,
Not a lot of chatter here on the Enhanced model (6gb RAM), wanted to get your thoughts:
1. Has anyone bought the phone? Is it worth the extra RAM, ROM, and Force Touch? It still has no lit up Capacitive keys, right?
2. Is there a way to Unlock the bootloader and Root it? And more importantly, is there a way to RE-LOCK the bootloader and Unroot the phone?
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.
I've actually got it. I must say it is worth it. Though it only comes in gold and would have liked the silver, but other than that it's awesome.

Same as the other models.
Okay. This model, despite the hideous gold color, seems to meet all of my needs. bootloader unlockable, verizon compatible (i already have an activated nano sim and i know to allow roaming), and 6 gb RAM/128GB ROM. So the only question/hesitation i have left is: Will all of the android development for the Axon 7 still work for this model considering the RAM and storage are different? if so, this is my perfect phone. anyone running custom roms on the 128/6? if so, is it the same as the 64/4? thank you all!

So the only question/hesitation i have left is: Will all of the android development for the Axon 7 still work for this model considering the RAM and storage are different? if so, this is my perfect phone. anyone running custom roms on the 128/6? if so, is it the same as the 64/4? thank you all!

Guys - Thank you for all the responses! XDA notifications are not quite working right for me, otherwise I would have responded quicker.
Couple of follow up questions:
1. Why is the 6gb model worth it, you think? Do you guys have real world examples? (despite the Gold color )
2. For the ones that did the rooting, unlocking the BL, TWRP and etc, can you please link the guides you used?
3. Anyone have a guide/method confirmed to return to stock and relock the Bootloader, in case I don't end up liking the phone?
4. The Enhanced model does NOT have the backlit capacitive keys, correct? :'(
5. Any tips you guys compiled for taking the best shots with the phone? Maybe in manual mode? To compensate for the poor camera quality on the phone?
Thank you again!

I don't find it useful. It's just an empty marketing bullet.
