Installing Linux (or similar) on Yoga-2 830F - Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 Questions & Answers

Hi,
my Lenovo Yoga 2 830F is kind of a real "pita". It all started when my WLAN broke (even when factory reset - could not connect) so I decided to install a new OS. Unfortunately there is no capable LineageOS version for the Yoga 2 so I decided to install Ubuntu on it. But I am not able to boot from USB-stick. I already installed TWRP and I tried several USB-sticks with Ubuntu 64-bit and Lubuntu 32-bit but with no luck. Has anybody any idea to get me started on this? I think i reached a deadend for now.
Thank you!

*bump*
Does anyone have an idea how to get the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 (830F) with TWRP installed booted from USB-stick?

[Q] No USB recognition wit [ROM][JB 4.2.2][CM10.1] for Lenovo Ideapad K1 3G+Wifi

I updated my K1 with the [ROM][JB 4.2.2][CM10.1] for Lenovo Ideapad K1 3G+Wifi from [ROM][JB 4.1.2 JZO54K] CM10 for Ideapad K1 v6.1 3G+Wifi. Everything went well, I have the listed gapps also flashed in. No software issues at all, I finally have the rotation lock working again after 2 years of not having it. My issue is that after flashing in the new rom (file named: cm-10.1.3-RELEASE-k1-wifi) the USB connection from the tablet to the computer is no longer recognized.
-went into 'USB Computer Connection' under the Storage settings and ensured the "Media Device(MTP)" was checked off
-went into developer settings and ensured that the USB Debug settings was unchecked
-rebooted both tablet and computer
-unplugged and replugged in the USB cable multiple times.
Re-installed the kaschemme cm-10.1.3-RELEASE-k1-wifi, ensureing I did a complete wipe, cleared cache and DALVIK cache then installed ROM and GAPPS. Rebooted and went though set-up again. Plugged in the USB.. nothing. Checked USB Computer connection and it's set to media device.
The USB was working, that's how I got the ROMs onto the tablet in the first place. Does anyone know of a way to get the USB support working again??
Thx
Update:
I flashed in the kaschemme's cm-10.1-20130707-EXPERIMENTAL-k1-wifi_v1 and I now have the USB support working again. I'm going to test the build out and see if there is any issues.
Another Update:
I updated my K1 with kaschemme's cm-10.1.3-RELEASE-k1-wifi version of 4.2.2 to see if the the previous flash corrected the USB, and I've lost USB support again. I don't know if it's my tablet specifically, but it looks like there is something wrong in that particular ROM.

I have two K1's, one with a 11/21 build date (tester) and the other with a 9/22 build date, both CM 10.1.3. They both show up on my PC as lenova K1 and I can transfer files back and forth. That was on a Windows 8.1 machine. Sorry I can't offer any help.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 T530NU Firmware/TWRP/Bootloop

:crying: -Sigh- Alright, this has been a pretty stressful two days so I'll try to be as specific as I can.
Device details:
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 T530NU 16 GB Black with WiFi capabilities.
- I was running Lollipop 5.0.2.
Problem:
I wanted to get Xposed installer on my tablet, and found out if I wanted to get the modules I wanted working with what I wanted to do, I needed the Xposed Framework installed onto my tablet. I went to research on how that works/what do to to get that up and running for me, and I found out I needed TWRP, had to add it on my tablet with Odin, and then add what I needed for Xposed in a custom boot through my SD card.
As soon as I got TWRP on my tablet, I've been stuck on a bootloop.
Things I've tried:
- Wiping all data.
- Clearing cache/dalvik.
- Charged to full, and retried clearing cache/wiping again.
Additional Details:
- I have access to a PC
- Able to connect my tablet to a PC via USB cord.
- I'm in the US (Since I've some some region specific things floating around)
What kind of help I'm looking for:
- A updated(?) and working stock firmware for my device.
- TWRP version that will work properly on my device.
- Xposed framework ZIP to add to my device.
I've been spending hours and hours trying to find websites and threads on here and on the internet in general to help me fix it, or find stock firmware for my tablet to start over from scratch. I have had no luck anywhere at all. My desktop is just piled with .ZIP files that have claimed to work but no longer work(?).
I'm just at a loss...It's really diving me crazy. So, as a last resort, I'm writing to see if I can get some help on here. I'm not one to really ask for help on things like this..I usually do enough research to figure it out but I feel like I've visited every single thread/site I can and have had no luck. I would greatly appreciate some guidance
Resurrecting this thread after over a year hoping someone is paying attention...
Tying to the thread hopefully getting enough people talking about this... again.

I have the same problem as well. I have downgraded from 5.0.2 to 4.4.2 hoping that would work. I flashed PACMAN custom ROM and GAPPS 6.0 nano last night and was able to get in and through setup, but the wifi will not work nor does it detect any nearby networks.
Looking for answers here... Corrupted partitions maybe? I have stable stock ROM's
Maybe sideload APK's to evaluate/fix the issue from the ui side - if any apps exist?

¿Was the Recovery Mode removed from my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 850F? Please help.

First of all greetings to all and excuse my bad English, I am using a translator. My native language is Spanish.
I recently made a downgrade to my tablet (Android 6 -> 5), because with Android 6 I was very busy with ram, now with android 5 works perfectly.
To perform the downgrade I had to install TWRP 3.0 up there all right, the problem arises that now with Android 5, I try again to enter the recovery mode and I no longer have the TWRP 3.0 nor the original recovery mode. If I press the buttons (power and volume +) the tablet makes a hardreset directly. Everything is erased.
So I ask you, what happened because I lost both the previous recovery and the TWRP? Can someone explain it to me please?
- Another thing that causes me a lot of curiosity is that in the applications installed on the tablet I see these applications that I do not know their usefulness or function, can I eliminate them?
*FactoryRest (16Kb)
*One-Touch Test (96kb)
*Run-in Test v1.7.2 (13mb)
-The Tablet also now asks me to update some things of Android 5, that is to say an official update that weighs 21mb but I deactivate it because I have read that if you update directly from the tablet after having done a downgrade or roted (something that I have not done yet , I do not want to do) makes the Tablet useless. Is this true?
I really hope you can help me, I have asked this in many forums and nobody has been able to help me. Thank you all.
