System not in proc after miui 11 - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

After flashing miui 11, and when I went back to miui 10 now I get system not in proc mounts, I try using
Adb device and adb root but when I type root nothing happen tried use the remount command it say try root but nothing happens, and when I type disable verity it saw something about can't disable or doable uses preference. I can I get a solution to fix this? Is kinda tedious going into root folder to delete system app without using link 2sd.

I had this same problem where it was "brickeo" and only I have the fastboot mode, or if we can access the "recovery mode"
you tube . com/ watch?v=Gz_vvNbYTqI "delete space"
... the solution that manages to install this video tool .... (to use the tool you must first go to google and put download java and install it) after opening this program download the global rom in .tgz format (download the rom with this tool mentioned) and flash with the "MiFlash" so return to the GLOBAL Stock ROM, being here I managed to install MIUI 11 with this procedure ....
-reboot for twrp, clear cache, dalvik, system, data
-data format and write yes
-copy miui.eu beta 9.8.15 from your pc
-Install miui.eu beta 9.8 .15
-reboot the system and configure it until
term reset to twrp
-flash miui.eu 11 (.eu 9.9.26)
-restart
-done
sorry, I use "google translator" I speak Spanish

Thank for info I will try and report back later.

From Philz to Flyme (official firmware) MX4

Good evening everyone.
I write because I have a problem with the installation of the CM on my meizu MX4.
I ran perfectly the procedure of unlocking the bootloader, and once unlocked, I flashed the recovery Philz. Later I tried to flash the CM with adb, but in at end it always says "Installation Aborted". I tried with the patched recovery and with cofface, but I just can not flash it.
I then tried to do a wipe cache but no with any recovery that I flashed always appears to me:
"E: Can not mount / cache / recovery / command
E: Can not mount / cache / recovery / log
E: Can not open / cache / recovery / log
E: Can not mount / cache / recovery / last_log
E: Can not open / cache / recovery / last_log "
I read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/meizu-mx/general/tutorial-bootloader-unlocking-mx4-m1-t3201715 that I could flash the patched rom deleting the file uboot.img and preloader.bin but I can not find anywhere the second file, and also I'm afraid to brick the phone ... someone has already done it?
Tell me that at least in the future I will be able to install the CM. Loved and hated Flyme.
Sorry for the English and thanks in advance for your reply.
Why you don't install CM from the recovery?
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
I has this problem also when try to wipe cache. I fix cache mount with "wipe for new rom" option in wipe menu on philz recovery.
After that install cyanogen .zip with recovery.
Now i'm back to flyme but i flash patched flyme4.5.6i-twrp.zip found on 4pda forum, with twrp recovery for mx4.
Here is link for tutorial *4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=689760&st=780#entry43612111*
My MX4 is now on Flyme international version (original was A firmware) and i still have unlocked bootloader and custom recovery.
Everything works fine without any bug.
artlov I installed the recovery and then I did:
1) install zip
2) install zip from sideload
3) MX4 connect to pc
4) open CDM and write "adb devices" enter
5) "adb sideload cm12 ect * enter *
6) sull'mx4 appeared the word "installation aborted" after loading on pc
Now i have flyme 4.2.8.2A with philz recovery.
mmdag82 i don't find on philz the option "wipe for new rom"
"Clean to Install a New Rom" is exactly name of option under Wipe menu
And then i can try to flash CM? By terminal or with file zip on mx4's memory?
Thank you for your answers!
With zip file on mx4 memory
did you tried factory reset because you must do that befor adb sideload and i woildn't do Clean to Install a New Rom because it will delete everything about current system
Yeeah! CM installed! Thanks a lot guys!
MX4 not read sim card with CM...

There is a solution. Try to reflash the patched recovery.
Now reflash 4.2.1.2 with clean.
Reboot, and reroot, reinstall flashify and terminal.
Do again the tuto step by step.
Try and tell me
Edit : Sorry, i didn't saw you have done ^^
I've done! Not reads SIM but i think is problem of card, cause i tried other SIM that weren't chopped from old SIM card and them run perfectly!
Hey,
hope somebody can help me.
I wanted to install flymeos on my arale until the cm-version is usable for me.
I am only able to install version 4.0.4 i or a but i cannot upgrade nor directly flash a version later than that...
I tried several recoveries (philz, cofface, twrp) and several versions (4.2.8.2i/a, 4.5.6i). Any ideas?
-----------------
EDIT: Recovery logs always tell me that there is no space on /custom left. Do i have to reformat my arale with a android scatter? I installed 4.0.4 and ran fastboot -w. Thought this would be sufficient. /custom is only 4.8M big...

How to format data from erecovery, no this option
Sent from my SM-T815 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I don't know if I understand correctly (I'm new to this stuff) but I got back to Emui 4.1.
I installed the Rom without root successfully but messed up the instructions to root and got stuck in some sort of bootloop.
Then Emui reinstalled a factory fresh B027 over wifi and upgraded to B029.
I think this happened with charge/data cable plugged into the PC and pressing the volume up button on reboot.
Apologies if that is not what you meant but it seems to be difficult to brick the phone

And most problem: brightness drop in Browser and dialer?
I copy Whatsapp in System/App,give Permissions and no Problems.
Which Brightness Problem? I have not Problems with it.
Ok, for viber and WhatsApp same solution as on 4.1?
Try any browser in middle light conditions / system reduce brightness in browser and dialer more then any other app and more then is ok for use...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3559949
On all huawei nougat same problem
I'm having problems copying Apps on System/App folder. When I try copying the APK file, it says there is not enough space. I even tried in TWRP and it is says it can't copy it. I even tried mounting the system folder. Any ideas?

using, it is super fast but I have some problems:
-nova launcher unread notifications counter can not be switch on. It is switched on, but go off immediately
UPD.: solved by give nova and tesla unread every possible rights in phoneManager and apps..
-it seems to me that non huawei app (google, chrome, any...) have some delay on opening, like OS check them somehow?
- browser in middle light conditions / system reduce brightness in browser and dialer more then any other app and more then is ok for use...

If somebody not see this: on middle bright conditions open chrome, brightness drop. Tap navigation key recent apps, chrome is in foreground it is clear seen that brightnes rise. tap again chrome, brightness drop whet it on stays active... ugly. it was same in emui 4.1 but as solving by batery mode performance option use instead balanced
probably they have not made battery profiles for beta version and nothing can be done...
UPD.: solved by force stop, dissable boot, freeze Power Genius (com.Huawei.powergenie) in sd maid.
maybe imonitor (com.huawei.imonitor) is also battery app, if somebody knows??
What bugs that you faced after booting the Rom ? Is this version stable for daily use
And Thank you so much for posting this thread
@letschky WHAT is best procedure to roll back to b027?
I just got this phone about 8 days ago, and I have a few questions if anyone can answer, I already had the EMUI 5.0 installed on my phone (a reset of the phone triggered a download after signing up with the Huawei ID).
1) I noticed that after I installed the decrypted boot image some of the features disappeared, like the themes, and the changing of the pictures on the lock screen, and the icons seems to be all over the place.
2) I noticed some of the settings are missing, like before rooting and unlocking there was an option to save power by making the screen dark, now it seems that option is gone.
3) If after rooting could you re-lock the bootloader and still keep root?
Also lastly, does anyone here have the english version of HiVoice (HwVAssistant.apk) thats not deodexed? I wanted to try this out but the only version I see is the deodexed and I havent tried yet but I think it still wont work on a rooted phone since the rom isnt deodexed. The reason I am asking is my car is picking it up as Siri (I know its not) but if it works like siri it would be golden.
Welp I cant get my phone back, I was trying to get back to stock, and nothing is working stuck at the honor logo, even tried to go back to emui 5.0 following the directions here, but data keeps not staying mounted. And recovery over WLan wont work because it says failed to get package info. Anybody have any ideas?

MIUI ROM
MIUI (pronounced as Me-You-I) is Xiaomi's custom built firmware like Samsung's OneUI, HTC's SenseUI, OnePlus's OxygenOS which is built on top of Android's AOSP base with its own modifications and features. At first glance it resembles like a hybrid between Google's Material Design and Apple's iOS. But unlike Stock Android or iOS, MIUI is very intuitive, feature rich and has multiple tweaking options. MIUI is updated regularly depending on the development branch. Xiaomi gathers reports, feedbacks and suggestions from the community, addresses the bug-fixes and integrates new features upon request. Most of Xiaomi devices are regularly patched with security updates every 2-3 months. The flagship "Mi" series like Mi9 receive quicker Android version updates than their budget "Redmi" series like Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro etc.
TYPES OF MIUI ROM
There are 2 development branches of MIUI ROMs for all Xiaomi devices.
A) Stable Builds
It is updated on a monthly basis or longer
New features are added slowly after testing
Higher system stability and less bugs than Beta ROMs
It has a four digit numbering scheme (X.X.X.X)
For eg. 8.X.X.X is MIUI8 Stable Build
Stable builds come in 2 variants
1. MIUI China Stable ROM
This ROM is pre-installed on all Xiaomi devices sold in China.
It is made for the Chinese market & contains Chinese MIUI apps.
Google Apps are absent. You can install them manually.
It supports Chinese & English languages.
2. MIUI Global Stable ROM
This ROM is pre-installed on all Xiaomi devices sold outside China.
It is made for the International market & contains English MIUI apps.
Google apps are pre-installed by default.
It supports 50+ languages.
B) Beta Builds
It is updated on a weekly/bi-weekly basis or longer.
New features are added quickly for testing.
Lower system stability and more bugs than Stable builds.
It has a three digit numbering scheme (X.X.X)
For eg. 6.11.21 is MIUI8 Beta build for 21th Nov, 2016.
This ROM is not pre-installed on any Xiaomi device.
You can install Beta build over Stable build manually.
Beta/Developer builds come in 2 variants.
1. MIUI China Beta ROM
It is made for the Chinese market & contains Chinese MIUI apps.
Google Apps are absent. You can install them manually.
It supports Chinese & English language.
2. MIUI Global Beta ROM It is made for the International market & contains English MIUI apps.
Google apps are pre-installed by default.
Supports more than 50+ languages.
TWRP
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery which is flashed over the stock recovery as it gives user more options such as flashing custom ROMs, kernels & scripts, take full system backups, restore backups, root etc.
TYPES OF TWRP
1. TWRP by iscle: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-2/development/recovery-twrp-3-1-1-0-touch-recovery-t3652762
Based on Stock TWRP 3.1.1-0 with no modifications.
Ported from Redmi Note 4 (mido)
English language as default
Need to flash dm-verity zip immediately after flashing this TWRP, else your phone wont boot.
2. TWRP by xuefer: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-2/development/twrp-max2-oxygen-t3634437
Built using LineageOS 14.1 source
Built and tweaked for Mi Max 2 (oxygen)
Decryption support added for /data
Faster transfer using adb push
Extra fonts added
FLASHING TWRP
Unlock bootloader here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-2/how-to/guide-unlocking-bootloader-mi-max-2-t3641257
Install "Minimal ADB+Fastboot Drivers": https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Download TWRP file and copy the file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder
Download dm-verity disabler and copy the file in your phone: https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/
Switch off phone. Hold Power + Volume Down to boot into fastboot mode. Connect it to PC.
Inside the folder where TWRP file is present, open command prompt window.
Type "fastboot devices". Your phone will get detected with serial number.
Type "fastboot flash recovery <recovery_name.img>". TWRP will get flashed on your device.
E.g. "fastboot flash recovery twrp_3.1.1-0.img".
Type "fastboot boot <recovery_name.img>". You will boot into TWRP. Disconnect phone from PC.
E.g. "fastboot boot twrp_3.1.1-0.img".
On the screen, swipe to allow modifications and select your language. Uncheck "Keep system read-only"
Select Install and then choose the dm-verity disabler zip and swipe to flash.
Select Backup and check all partitions. Swipe to backup. The backup will be stored in "TWRP" folder
Select Reboot and then system. You will be asked if you want to disable the stock recovery. Swipe to disable.
You will boot into MIUI with TWRP installed.
TWRP ZIPs
These zips are meant to be flashed with TWRP with a specific order. Before flashing any zip make sure you have taken full backup of your device partitions using TWRP.
1. no-verity-opt-encrypt: https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/
Also called as dm-verity disabler/lazy flasher
"dm-verity" is a feature in the MIUI kernel which checks and prevents the phone from booting normally if you modify the phone. (e.g. flash TWRP)
To prevent that, you need to flash the dm-verity disabler zip which removes dm-verity check and also decrypts the /data partition so that you can boot into MIUI normally.
Else you can flash a custom ROM immediately after flashing TWRP which removes the MIUI system and kernel
2. Xiaomi.EU ROM Patch: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-2/development/xiaomi-eu-rom-patches-dpi-change-t3656296
You need to install Xiaomi.EU ROM before installing these zips via TWRP.
MIUI to Google Apps: Replaces default MIUI apps with Google apps.
Google Now/Pixel Launcher: Replaces stock MIUI launcher and enables Google Assistant via build.prop tweak.
DPI changer: Change values from stock 440 (low res, bigger) to 325 (high res, smaller).
3. Hardware Key Disabler : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-2/themes/mod-disable-hardware-keys-lineageos-rom-t3696108
This mod enables on screen navigation bar and disables the hardware keys
You can revert back to stock configuration by flashing "enable_HWkeys.zip"
FLASHING VIA TWRP
Some important terms to remember:
Formatting data: Factory resets the phone, will erase internal storage, will remove encryption
Wiping data: Factory resets the phone, will not erase internal storage, will not remove encryption
Clean flash: Flashing a new ROM or an updated version of the same ROM by wiping or formatting data of current ROM in TWRP. Cache & dalvik is automatically wiped in TWRP.
Dirty flash: Flashing an updated version of the same ROM without wiping or formatting data of current ROM in TWRP. Cache & dalvik wipe is recommended in TWRP.
Treble TWRP: Custom TWRP which uses existing /cust partition and formats it into /vendor partition which is needed for non-MIUI Oreo and Pie ROMs where Treble is used.
Notes:
Always read the entire post & comments of the custom ROM page before asking any questions, chances are your query has already been answered.
You do not need to wipe /system partition manually, it its automatically wiped when a ROM is flashed by the updater-script inside the ROM zip. General rule of thumb is always clean flash any ROM, unless mentioned by the ROM developer or maintainer that dirty flashing is okay.
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader with TWRP installed
Phone partition backup using TWRP
All data backup from internal storage (sms, contacts, files etc.)
Official MIUI ROM encrypts /data partition, you will need to Wipe > Format Data to decrypt it completely else need to flash dm-verity disabler zip or Magisk zip.
1. Rooting MIUI / non-MIUI ROM
Boot into TWRP (Power+Volume Up)
Install > Magisk zip
Reboot > System
2. Flashing official MIUI recovery ROM
Boot into TWRP
Wipe > Format data (if storage is encrypted)
Reboot > Recovery
Install > MIUI ROM zip + Magisk Zip
Reboot > System

TYPES OF CUSTOM ROMs
There are mainly two types of custom ROMs for any Android device. You need to flash them on your phone using custom recovery such as TWRP.
1. Stock based ROMs
They are based on the factory ROM which came pre-installed on your device. In case of Xiaomi devices, developers take the stock China Stable/Beta MIUI ROMs as base, perform modifications and tweaking and then re-pack it. Examples of stock based MIUI ROMs.
Xiaomi.EU: https://xiaomi.eu/
MIUI Pro: https://miuipro.by/
Mi Globe: http://mi-globe.com/
Epic ROM: http://www.epicrom.pro/
2. Custom based ROMs
They are typically based on either AOSP or LineageOS code. They can either be ported from similar devices or built using the kernel source code of a particular device. Xiaomi has not yet released kernel source code for Mi Max 2. Kernel source codes are needed for relatively stable and bug-free experience on custom ROMs. Examples of some popular custom ROMs
A) AOSP based ROMs

Nexus Experience: http://www.nxrom.us/
SlimRoms: https://slimroms.org/
B) LineageOS based ROMs

Thanks for wonderful explanation and for content too
Hi,
I flashed TWRP from PC using above procedure & tried to install no-verity-opt-encrypt (version 5.1.zip).
I got below error while installing :
Error: unpacking ramdisk failed
Phone booted normally & TWRP is not there.
How to fix this issue?
I know these questions are sometimes annoying, but for someone who hasn't been following Android development since Android 4.4.4, I'm a little overwhelmed by all this information. What does the "Oxygen" mean? Is it just a certain model of the Mi Max 2? I see all ROMs say Oxygen but none explain what it means. If it's a model of the Max 2, how can I know if the version I have is Oxygen?
Thanks and sorry if it's a dumb question
It's a code name for Max 2, so you don't mistakenly flash the wrong ROM, if it says Oxygen, than you're sure it's for your model, not for i.e. Mi Max...

Hello,
I have a Mimax 2 bootloader unlocked, rooted, SuperSU, twrp 3.1.0-0 (cofface) installed. I installed, after some difficulties, the rom xiaomi.eu 7.12.28. When I'm in recovery, after the flash I sometimes have a red line that says "... no-verity-opt-encrypt ..." blah blah. But the phone boot normally, everything works fine. Do I have to install lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt or can I do without it?
thank you and sorry for my bad english
Hi, I have unlocked BL and installed Developer ROM 7.12.28. for a few weeks now. Can I install latest 8.1.4 developer ROM with TWRP without wiping cache/dalvik and will I keep my data/apps that way?
Thanks.
Sent from my Mi Max 2 using Tapatalk
@frulex, I installed the 8.1.4 (via updater) after using the 7.12.28, without any problem. That you erase the cache where not, you will not lose the data of your apps
What was the size of that update file you installed? I first got notification of 8.1.4 update and it said it's something like 95 MB file size. Tried to install it twice via updater, it starts updating, boots to TWRP and ends with error without installing. After reboot notification changed and now it offers update of full 1.5 GB 8.1.4 version ROM. I didn't have time to download and try that but I wonder will that also end in error and that's why I ask about downloading .zip and flashing through TWRP.
Sent from my Mi Max 2 using Tapatalk
These are the roms I used, as you see 8.1.4 weighs 1.2 Go
edit: I had uploaded an image of the explorer but it does not appear! (decidedly i'm struggling with this forum, lol)
Not many roms for this phone..it sux..I regret exchanging it with my oneplus 3..
How many ROMs have you expected in 3 days since kernel source has been released?

thanks to you @SharkcpN . this is such a clearly, easily tutorial "How to Flash TWRP" for newbie like me..
I tried and succeed with no error at all.. once again, thanks for your good job :good:
Hi there! Thanks for the excellent thread and collection of links. I started here and found a setting on this phone's NVRAM that I have not seen mentioned anywhere else, and you will need it for LTE unlocking.
Below are the exact steps, many taken from this guide, that I used to go from a phone with an unlocked bootloader to flipping the LTE B2 and LTE B4 bits on. After I did it and rebooted, I suddenly had a working LTE connection!
I cannot yet PROVE that this actually enabled the bands, but it hasn't hurt anything. I will test for that in a couple days, because the only dumb thing I did was afterwards, when I accidentally re-locked the bootloader by not paying attention to what I was doing. If you use the MiFlash program to install a ROM, don't forget to change the setting in the lower right corner!
Notes for those wishing to use this as a guide:
I don't think you can brick the phone completely playing with just these settings, but you should be prepared to restore everything. Take backups where I mention them, and if you need the device working, you should have a current MIUI fastboot flashable image, available from the official website, on hand.
This is LTE only and there are different settings for GSM that work the same way.
The steps are numbered, but you should also understand mostly what they do.
You may ignore the VM part and just boot your normal Win7 with driver signature checking DISABLED (F8 on boot). I use Linux and I'm security-conscious about downloading programs that I can't verify, so I'm using a VM.
There is a dialpad option for opening the diag port (if you have root), but it did not work for me, so I have provided a method that I know works and it clears itself upon reboot
QXDM's NV browser has a checkbox for "DUAL SIM". You don't need to check it for this process, you won't lose SIM2.
Downloads section:
(REQUIRED) Most are in the links provided by OP:
MiFlash (official one)
QPST 2.7.460
QXDM 3.12.714
Minimal adb and fastboot
no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
twrp-3.2.1-0-oxygen.zip
SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip
(OPTIONAL, needed if you mess up. I chose to have it ready to go.):
From MIUI official site, go to the ROMs for the Max 2. The one on the download button here is NOT what you want.
Select Flashing guide, then on on the left hand side select FastBoot.
Download the image for your device. I have a copy of oxygen_global_images_V9.0.3.0.NDDMIEI_20171209.0000.00_7.1_global_298fd5f49c.tgz
SETUP SECTION (install tools and root phone):
Enable developer mode and USB debugging on phone
Boot into a Windows VM, pressing F8 to go into unsigned drivers mode
Install MiFlash, just to get the drivers
Install QPST and QXDM for later
Install adb and fastboot
Pass USB port through to VM and check adb is working by twice typing
Code:
adb devices
Shutdown phone and remove SD card from phone.
Add no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip and SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip to SD card
Put SD card back in phone
Reboot phone into fastboot mode using PWR & VOL-, and re-pass to VM if needed
From cmd terminal in adb folder,
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.1-0-oxygen.img
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-oxygen.img
Once TWRP comes up, install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
(OPTIONAL) Make a backup. I didn't because I don't want the ROM that's on there anyway.
Reboot and ensure MIUI loads
Shutdown phone and reboot into TWRP using PWR & VOL+
Install SuperSU as a system app
Reboot into MIUI
Access and edit the NVRAM:
Connect the device back to the computer, pass to VM if necessary
From your terminal in the adb folder,
Code:
adb devices
Grant debug permission on the device, if it asks again
Code:
adb shell
Code:
$su
Grant permission in superSU popup
Code:
#setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
When the device reconnects, re-pass to VM if needed, and it may install another driver
Open QPST Configuration and make sure the device's port is enabled.
At the top, go to "start clients" and open "software download"
In the "Backup" tab, choose a location to save your file and hit Start, just in case you do break something
Once finished, close "software download" but leave QPST Configuration running
Open QXDM Professional
Under Options->Communications, make sure your phone is set "active" then set "target port" to the port it's on, then press OK
Go to NV Browser in the dropdown on the upper left.
Scroll down to 06828 :"nv_lte_bc_config_type.lte_bc_config"
Press READ and save this value somewhere in case you forget which bits you set! Mine was: 2061584302293
It's little-endian, and I wanted to flip bits from 0 to 1 to enable bands {2} and {4}, so I added 2^({2}-1)+2^({4}-1) = 10 to get a value of 2061584302303
Enter your new value in the "value" field and press "write"
Now, scroll down to the corresponding LTE prefs value at 65633
Read again. This should be the same number you had before, in hexadecimal format. Mine was 0x1E0000000D5, so to add B2 and B4 (Combined value 0xA), I changed it to 0x1E0000000DF
Again, enter your new value in the "value" field and press "write"
I doubt this requires any sort of "safe shutdown," but I hit "offline" then closed QXDM, then closed QPST, then rebooted the phone.
For a quick test, you can set network preferences to "LTE ONLY" by going to the dialpad and hitting *#*#INFO#*#*, then selecting your SIM card and using the dropdown in there. Mine was preferring HSPAP because the signal was stronger, even though the data was blocked.
Further testing I want to do when I get the bootloader unlocked again:
Use an app that shows what bands are in use to prove I'm on B2 or B4
Try disabling bands I will never use that have similar frequencies to the bands I want to see if signal improves
TWRP ZIPs
These zips are meant to be flashed with TWRP with a specific order. Before flashing any zip make sure you have taken full backup of your device partitions using TWRP.
1. no-verity-opt-encrypt: https://build.nethunter.com/android-...y-opt-encrypt/
2. Xiaomi.EU ROM Patch: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-...hange-t3656296
You need to install Xiaomi.EU ROM before installing these zips via TWRP.
MIUI to Google Apps: Replaces default MIUI apps with Google apps.
Google Now/Pixel Launcher: Replaces stock MIUI launcher and enables Google Assistant via build.prop tweak.
DPI changer: Change values from stock 440 (low res, bigger) to 325 (high res, smaller).

Mi 9T and my the TWRP/Flash dilemma

Hello everyone
i spent 10hours from my weekend to try to flash a Xiaomi.EU Firmware to my Global Mi 9T. I didn't understand why it's not working, i flashed in the past several xiaomi devices with other firmwares.I am frustrated and i hope so someone can tell me what i do wrong. Here are the steps which i tried:
My Xiaomi Mi 9T is unlocked. My target is to flash Xiaomi.EU 9.8.15 to my device with actually Global 10.3.12
1. i copied the zip file from Xiaomi.EU 9.8.15 to the internal storage.
2. i installed with adb the "Greek" Version from TWRP to my device (*i saw this list https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-9t/how-to/twrp-versions-xiaomi-mi-9t-t3955946 )
3. I installed the zip file with TWRP. I installed normal without disable something. At the end of the installation i saw something with "unconventional vendor.." or something like this. i am not sure if this is the problem.
4. After the installation i reboot my device. I saw for a short time "Redmy by Xiaomi" and after that the device start automatically in the fastboot bootloop.
I reinstalled my device serveral times with Mi Flash and installed Global 10.3.12 again to try the same steps again. One time i cleaned cache/dalvik but the problem is the same.I am hanging on a fastboot bootloop and have no idea what the problem can be.
I will be so thankful for every piece of idea or information what i do wrong.
Thank for an answer, have a great day !
Hey.
I will write the steps I followed and flashed succesfully.
• Install and boot to TWRP
• Format data
• Reboot TWRP
• Factory reset
• Reboot TWRP
• Install xiaomi.eu ROM (I used an USB OTG) (you can just connect it to your computer and copy the files)
• Reboot system
These are extra steps I did before reboot
• Install Magisk
• Install Dm Verity and Disable ForceEncrypt
• Reboot system
And I used the same TWRP (greek). After a minute, it booted succesfully (rooted and unencrypted).
Dear Schnedi
Do you know anything about mount or unmount partitions at twrp?
When i tried to flash the miglobe rom with the greek twrp It says that the system partition was unmounted.

Dear Schnedi
Thank you for your answer. I had to admit that i don't have knowledge enougth to work with twrp! I need a Guide for It!

Hi Schnedi
I think i have now a bigger problem....
after get into TWRP, i choose "advance settings" and select anything like delete cache, dalvic, system and more... only i didn't select USB-OTG.
After that i restart the device to flash the Xiaomi.EU Rom... but now i am again in a fastboot bootloop. And Mi Flash Tool can't recognize my device to flash global room. It seems look like de USB Debug Modus is now deactivated in my device.
When i connected my device to windows pc, i see the message that a usb device is connected but the drive is unknow.
Do you have any idea ? Or is that a problem which user called "My device is bricked" -.- ....
Thanks someone for help.

Yes the bootlocker is unlocked. Is that possible that i delete something with TWRP which disabled me in Mi Flash Tool to recognize the device ?

Hi Schnedi, thanks for your guide!
I´m evaluating the option to unlock and root my Mi 9T Pro new device (i´m looking about what I will lose if I go ahead with that, like NO NFC, Netflix, etc), but basically the steps you followed are:
• Unlock the bootloader
• Install and boot to TWRP
• Go inside the WIPE menu and click on "Format data" and type YES
• Reboot into TWRP
• Go inside the WIPE menu and this time swipe to the right to perform a "Factory reset"
• Reboot TWRP
• Go inside the INSTALL menu, click on "select image" and Install xiaomi official Global ROM (I used an USB OTG) (you can just connect it to your computer and copy the files) and without rebooting/restarting yet.....then
• Go back to the INSTALL menu, this time select the Magisk.zip file and do the same with the
• Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019.zip file and then...
• Reboot system?
Am I right?
Just dont want to mess with this.
Thanks in advance!!!
Ale.

i repaired now my mi 9T with Mi Flash tool and with the Global Version and tried serveral times some of your steps but it didn't work.
- After installed twrp greek, i format cache, dalvic, system and Flash the Xiaomi.EU 9.8.15 rom. Also one time without delete "system". Then i would restart but i get every time a message from TWRP "No OS installed!" , why? I restarted anyway and i see again for a short time "Redmi by Xiaomi" and then again the fastboot loop.
- Then again Mi Flash & Global to repair it.
- I didn't install magisk. Is that necessary ? I know after a restart the TWRP will be disabled but i think with a one time twrp installation and this steps normally the Xiaomi.EU shuld be flashed correctly.
- Or is the problem that the Xiaomi.EU Version 09.8.15 is lower than my installed Global Version 10.3.12 to flash ?
Thanks someone for an idea -_-
FIIIIIIIIINALLLLLLLY !!! Now i have TWRP permanently on my device without fastboot bootloop and with the Xiaomi.EU 9.7.25
1. I flashed before the Mi 9T 10.3.9.0 Global Rom with the Mi Flash Tool "click clear all data" in Mi Flash Tool ----> AND NOT "Clear & unlock" , if you do this, your bootloader will be unlocked again.
2. After you set up your device, copy the Xiaomi.EU 9.7.25 zip file into your internal storage, enable USB debugging and choose by USB connecting ---> File transfer
2. Follow this steps from this site: https://miui.blog/redmi-k20/flash-twrp-root-mi-9t-proven-steps/ ( i choose to install without magisk, but there is also a step with magisk)
3. Be sure you downloaded the Updated information about twrp in the middle of this site with "unofficial build of twrp".
4. After you are into twrp: just click "wipe" and select the "Swipe to Factory Reset ( wipes data, cache and dalvic )
5. After that, not reboot, just install directly the Xiaomi.EU 9.7.25 zip file in twrp.
6. After that, delete cache & dalvik and restart your device.
7. Welcome to your new custom Rom and twrp is also permanently installed.

THIS WAS AMAZING... BUT something strange is happening...
Without flashing Dm Verity and Disable ForceEncrypt zip after the ROM I was not able token boot the Custom ROM, my phone was kipping me on Recovery with all data crypted.
With this zip I can finally boot my ROM (Havoc OS), but all the data on SDCARD partition are still crypted!! I installed a file manager from the play store and what I get are a bunch of strange folders with silly names in the root of the phone... I cannot save a screenshoot because says me that my memory is full or I haven't an SDCARD.
How to solve this?

Can not install any Custom rom_ TWRP/OrangFox tested

I am trying to install some custom rom, below roms are tested and no way to done it:
Xtended, Pixel experience, PE, MSMXtended!!!
all of them is not possible to install via TWRP or OrangFox!
after zip installation in recovery mode, the device will be on loop on fastboot and/or recovery and nothing happening on this type of installation!
I tested to sideload system.img, boot.img etc...
any help will be welcome.
You NEED to "Format Data" (not "Wipe" > "/data", it's the "Format Data" button).
EDIT: You may need to install a good firmware too, just follow installation steps of the custom ROM...
Im having the same issue did the format fix it?

Guide for install custom ROM
1- boot to recovery
2- select format and type "yes"
3- reboot recovery
4- now wipe data, catch, dalvik catch
5- install ROM and reboot
** Some ROM work only with global vendor. You must first install vendor zip file with twrp (or vendor img with fastboot comment in your pc/linux/mac)
For example: My Mi 9T firmware is (Russian Gobal). I got error when try install Pixel Experience Plus. I install Global Vender with TWRP, then install rom zip file without any problem. (I am on stock miui with locked bootloader now)
