you need a wlantest.apk of FW you are using
Have you ever used this network with another device before? And worked it? This may be that problem.. WiFi may be protected by MAC filter. Lets say if it IS protected with this filter, you have to configure your WiFi router and add MAC adress of your phone into it. If it isn't, try another ROM or try to do something with your router.
dont have any idea about MC filter but other phones (nokia 5800,95) & also samsung wave of worth Rs.7500/- is also working with it ,my lapy is also works with it plz guys help me............. http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

this is a problem with the way your router gives ip to device
go in your router settings and reset all
then imput a new pass key
then it will work
i had problem with my ps3 haveing the same ip as my phone so when boath where online my phone no work online
a simple router reset to default and a new pass key fixed all problems
hey its my college wifi i can't edit it... is their some other way??????
If it is with what the craigboro guy said, you could use a laptop or another android device to scan the network (check the market, net scan or something) to scan the IP addresses on the network and then in advanced settings give your phone an IP that isn't being used, not ideal but hey, you're asking in the G3 section, not the g5 section, so you are bound to get general answers
I just bought a nexus 7, came home and spent 3 hours trying to connect this to wifi and it doesn't work... meanwhile i have 9 devices connected wireless that never had problems... -_-
when i first start my NEW nexus 7 and get to select wifi page.. i select my wifi (which shows 3 bars) i enter my correct password and it just loops from "connecting.." to "obtaining ip address" over and over after hour of that i got fed up and tried connecting manually .. i tried using ip/dns from ipconfig in cmd didn't work.. i went to my iphone and copied the wifi adress settings to my nexus 7 and it said connected
but when i went to next i logged into my gmail account and i get this
"Couldn't sign in
Can't establish reliable connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem. Try again or connect to another Wi-Fi network."
i have no idea what to do ARGGGG HELP PLZ!

Expected it is not any Hardware issue, it seems your pb is related to your PW. try desabling it from your router (just a short time for test) or go to a free wifi place to check.
Also keyboard issue, do you use the standard one?
good luck

Had this issue before with a bunch of Samsung phones turns out I had so many devices trying to use the same IP address set up by my router. I had to reset my router and assign each device its own IP address.

May also need to check the routers settings for maximum allowed wireless devices, or maximum dhcp users.

The obvious thing in your router configuration is that connections are being restricted to a list of hardware mac addresses.

The obvious is that jour Nexus 7 is not working properly, I had exactly the same behaviour tested many changes on my wifi settings, teathering from my phone...=> went back to the shop for an exchange and the new one was working perfectly
Hi guys,
Our college wi-fi has blocked Android, iPhone and Windows Phone users from connecting to the network. Laptops are able to connect fine. Upon noticing how they block devices, it turns out that they block the mac addresses, and they keep doing so even after changing mac address. Changing MAC address on a blocked laptop works, on mobiles, it doesn't.
What I understand is that the routers are blocking all mobile devices directly, is there any way I can change my android device to appear as a laptop? From all I've tried searching and understanding, with UPnP connections, this data about the device is trasmitted?
I would be very glad if anyone can help me out with this. Just for information, my mobile is a rooted Galaxy S Advance (i9070), and the routers are the Aruba 105s.
probably they identify devices by another method and not by mac.
write in google: "How knowing the device, carrier and connection" and you'll find the answers.
Mine problem is also the same but am using Windows phone.
So please suggest me something.
actually , in my university students with android phone are using psiphon app which bypass the browser login page (24online client) , when the university admins got to know this, they blocked android phones from connecting to router , later they blocked the software connecting to our ssid but they didnt blocked windows pc because our professors take attendance on their laptops , they need to connect inside online server to mark attendance and the windows mobiles are also connecting to router
my phone is moto g2 rooted , i tried changing the device name ,modified the p2p_suppli and wpa_suppli file in system\etc\wifi . but nothing worked , is there anyway for android mobiles to appear as windows pc , so that it will connect to router
please help
thanking in advance

Yes, Correct! Any solution to this please? because its really annoying not being able to use the WiFi on phone.
not working
changing the host doest work. need to detect packet header info just sniff a single packet using wire shark and detect what info is travelling.
If any one want to work can mail me.

ICMP blocking
hello guys
As I came to know that there firewall is blocking the ICMP pinging request to the server that is handling the local request. so if some how we can mask the local IP and tunnel the network then we can easily use the internet without any rules applied with full bamdwidth .
You can mail me if any one wants to work on it.

My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was returned to Samsung because it failed too boot. The same phone came back (same IMEI and Serial Number, marks on the case etc) with a clean install of software. However after failing to connect back to my network I realised my phone has a new wifi MAC address.
I understand the MAC address to be hardware encoded. Can anyone explain how/why it has changed?
Hall values XDA User
Since I had then flashed the firmware on my Asus Zenfone 3, my Wlan MAC address constantly changes with every new log-in.
Is there a solution for the problem or do I have to leave the MAC filter of my router permanently? ^^
I have already tried everything.
Installing new firmware has also brought no improvement.
I hope you could help me with the problem.
Sincerely,
Paul
sorry from Bad English.
No Idea, I can fix this?
Mfg Paul
You mean once you connect to the wifi, or before?
By default, modern smartphones randomize their MAC addresses when scanning for wifi APs. Once they attempt to connect they should reveal their real MAC addresses.
Hello,
Even before I connect.
It is enough if I turn off my Wlan and again on the phone. Without connecting to a Wlan network.
