waiting period for unlocking bootloader - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, I got a redmi Note 7 as a spare device and I'm playing around with it, now I wanted to check the waiting period and it shows none (check picture), does that mean that I could instantly unlock the bootloader without any waiting?
I'm not sure if I really want to unlock but in case I feel I need to I wanted to skip / start that waiting period to get away... If you what I mean - I'm just asking to be clear about this waiting game....
Thanks for clarification, I never had a xiaomi device except my xiaomi Mi router :cyclops:

It seems u can unlock, but the check that u can unlock ir not is later in the process.
Try it, u have nothen to loose.
Personal data only will erase when unlock process works.

So that's not the infamous screen that would display the 'waiting time' if there's any?
I was I bit reluctant to press 'unlock' right away as I wasn't sure if there's another chance to cancel the process on xiaomi device in fastboot... and as I only came to check about the'waiting time' I wasn't keen on wiping the internal memory and factory reset!

no. if this is your first time unlocking, clicking the unlock button on that screen will have a progress bar that leads to the infamous waiting time screen instead of unlocking right away. also if you do not click it, the timer will not start. do remember to back up your data before attempting it though, better to be safe than sorry.

Remove Battery and wait 30 minutes. Remove any memory card. Replace battery and try to enter bootloader or hard reset. May not work, but you are nowhere otherwise.
Thank you raskell for your super reply. i have done the battery reset but still no good results. basicaly lcd does not turns on (no boot loader, no lights on lcd)
very unfortunate storey
i have unlocked HERMS and all the other HTCs without any problems. (hundreds of them)
but i dont know wot went wrong with this
I have the same problem.. Is there any solutions??
Which version of unlocker have you used? Last one? Dated 20-11-2007 in zip file?
I have used the last one
same here.
black screen, wont power on at all. no signs of life. looks grim.
this happened to me, i took usb cable out, took battery out put it back in, kept power button down till green light came on, kept the voice dial and camer button down and stuck the stylus in the reset hole this took it into the olipro boot loader, i then ran the athena project rom and it updated it, all working
I think there seems to be some confusion as to the OLI unlocker program. There are apparently two versions of the CID unlocker. One works with x7500 the other one works with both the x7500 and the x7501. Can someone please confirm this?
Thank you.
Same problem here also, i just tried to put it on unlock mode (2nd step) and after that blank screen, i can't access nothing anymore.

Wow! you revive a 5 month old thread rather than looking in the unlocking thread.
As you can't access nothing I assume you can access everything.

No, no, you've got it all wrong. What he's trying to say is:
"I can't access nothing."
1. Nothing is inaccessible.
Now let'S break this down.
Nothing (subject, which oddly enough is a thing) is (verb present tense) inaccessible (direct object, what the subject "is" ,in this case anyway).
Upon evaluating this, we find that just because we have no access to this "nothing", we do not necessarily have access to everything other than nothing.
Not that that means anything; the idea that our lack of access to nothing equals access to everything, of course....uhhh....I think. But who cares, because 24 hours from now, today will be tommorrow, on Thursdays anyway.
You are, of course, right.
I can access nothing so maybe he has got a fault with his phone.

Indeed, maybe he should send it to htc with a post-it note:
"This thing's a piece of crap. I can't access nothing."
Shouldn't that be
"This thing's a piece of crap. I can't access nothing."?

Ok damnit you win.
But of course I intentionally left out that apostrophe because I was impersonating the one (whoever that was) who started this whole "C.A.N." discussion, if only it had been a C.A.S. discussion, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Hope you have fun deciphering that monstrosity of a run-on sentence.

M5000 Orange Will not Power up

Hi,
New to the forum and looking for a bit of guidance.
My M5000 will not power up, even to the Orange Logo etc. However if you try a hard reset the screen comes up "press 0 to reset "etc and if you try to go to bootloader that comes up with serial. When you insert the usb cable in bootloader it flicks from serial to usb but can't be accessed on the PC even though it shows up as mobile device.
When on charge the redlight doesn't come on unless you press the reset button and then it only flashes for a second.
It could be something simple like the battery is gone etc but I am a bit lost and could do with some advice.
Thanks in advance.
I hate it when you only get half a story. You are stuck in bootloader and it didn't get there all on it's own. Did you try to update the rom and something went wrong? Were you buggering about with it? Or something different.
Look tell us EXACTLY what you did to get it into this state as getting it out of it has many different answers depending on what you did.
Now fess up else you'll probably do more damage to it when suggestions arrive on this thread that may be incorrect because we don't know how it got like this in the 1st place.

Not half the story, the only reason I got to bootloader was because I was trying to see if a reinstall of the software would make any difference. There has been no mods to this unit at all. Was working fine for a year and a half then these problems started happening.
At first I thought it may be a problem with the power button and that is part of the reason I got into bootloader to see if the power button actually worked!
Long story short - phone has suddenly stopped turning on apart from factory reset and bootloader.
OK first thing is to get it OUT of bootloader and see what happens next.
Read this. I suggest method 2 at the bottom of the page as it's a lot easier.

Thanks, will try those.

Sim Lock Help

Just got my phone, bought it unlocked. Went into the bootloader and accidently chose simlock while looking around before I unlocked the bootloader. Now my phone has an ungly padlock icon at the bottom during bootup. Anyone know how to I get rid of this?
lol i dont know how you "accidentally" went into bootloader, switched to fastboot, pressed volume down 3 times to highlight the simlock option and finally press the power button to select.
anyway try pressing the simlock option again.
I was playing around. I wanted to see what was in there, I didn't think it would automatically lock it like that.
I tried going into it again, but no deal. it's not really an issue for me, just an looks thing really.
i doubt you can do anything by yourself. if you could easily switch between lock and unlock there would be no point to the the SIMLOCK option in the first place. If you really care that much (i would) you can just send it in for a replacement. your call.
You realize... the padlock doesn't reference SIM locking. It references an unlocked Bootloader. (If you look at the padlock closely, it's 'open')
SIM locking requires a key-card for a carrier you wish to lock to... Which I seriously doubt you have
Cheers,
Kermee
Ah thanks kermee I kind of did both at the same time and thought it was the sim lock.

I actually, accidentally, did the same thing you did also and hit "SIMLOCK". It occurred to me because there's a slight "lag" when the Bootloader menu comes up and it's still doing checks for several seconds. And when you hit the VOL-UP and VOL-DOWN buttons, the selection bar doesn't move so you don't think it's NOT working so you just hit the hardware TOP-PWR...
Problem is the hardware button buffer *IS* active while you're at the Bootloader screen and after it finishes the checks... it'll happily go through the button presses you did earlier. (i.e. You're hitting VOL-DOWN a bunch of times, not seeing that it's moving, and coincidentally you hit it 3 times before hitting the TOP-PWR)...
If you look closely when you hit "SIMLOCK", you'll see red error text stating you need a key-card. ... So no harm done
Cheers,
Kermee

Pattern Lock Attempt Bug, Locked Out Of X10

Im sure everybody has run into this problem on other android devices but i haven't seen this problem with many x10 owners. It must've unlocked itself and flapped around in my pocket until it incorrectly drew a pattern 5 or more times and somehow pressed the "Forgot Pattern?" button.
So your stuck with a screen that asks for your Gmail account login and ive tried every single combination of correct username and pass to get in but it is impossible ( Account logs in fine on PC ).
Ive read about ways to solve this and have come upon 3 different options.
1. Manual Factory Reset ( It's an option but i don't want to spend hours getting my phone back to how it was )
2. While in a call, ending the call and using a short window of opportunity (.5 seconds) to tinker around with your settings to try and make it possible to access your phone.
3. Download the Android SDK and enter something into the command prompt.
I would like to try option 3 however i heard that your phone must be rooted, i don't know how to go about rooting or if it is even possible for the x10.
Any support appreciated, thanks.
i guess don't use pattern lock is my suggestion. is there something else that can be used instead of pattern lock?

Might sound like a silly suggestion... but have you tried powering off. taking the battery and sim card out.. give it 30 seconds or so then put it all back together again.. might let you try your google account details then..
Did same, had to seus to get back in Lucky was 1st day owning so not bothered.
You mention the call thing, can you not disable the pattern lock whilst in call ?. I didnt know the phone could take a call when locked out so didnt try.

402sh sharp hard reset how?

Hello,
I have a problem with my "sharp softbank aquos 402SH
I setup a pattern lock. Since I have not used the phone for some time I cannot remember the pattern anymore.
I thought an unlock with a hard reset is no problem. But I found no way to boot into recovery mode(tried power and minus button, power and plus button to boot).
Also the device did not show up in adb as a device(Windows 8/Sharp USB driver installed) but was recognized as a storage device.
The user manual says:
"Do not forget pattern, Lock No. passcode or password set for canceling Screen lock(write it down if necessary). If you forget it, visit the nearest SoftBank Shop for recovery procedure."
As I live in Sudan and there are only softbank stores in Japan. So this is not possible for me.
Is there any other way to hard reset the device?
same prob
http://www.recovery-mode.com/android/sharp-aquos-crystal-x.html
Are you sure? Have you tried power-cycling the device? (Let it discharge all the way, and charge it all the way.)

Hi there
i have the same problem
my phone aquos 304 there are no available physical volume rocker button
i forget the password pattern
custom cable data with R jumper to ID pin with zadig software cannot flash the twrp
could someone help me out of this
thx
i also have that kind problem also show to many people but no way found of any to recover my bally please do something
As I think this phone did not get that many updates this might still work. I remember early on back then that i somehow managed to make a pattern that I had not meant to so could not unlock. Also quickly found out I could not get into the bootloader. But I found out you could bypass the lockscreen if you went into the emergency call screen. The thing is, you'd have to make a call then you could use the drop down notifications and enter settings app or something like that. I can't remember clearly, but I could atleast get access. And from there i just disabled the pattern. Don't feel I can recommend this though as it depends on how quick you are, and police services are sort of being misused this way. I remember being frazzled and extremely annoyed at that point as I had only had the phone for a couple of days. Ended up spamming a call three or four times to the cops to bypass without connecting a call. They called me back wondering what the deal was ? oops.
