Xiaomi mi 9t slow charging - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

I just bought a MI 9t. Phone is charging very slowly.
Also if I leave it charging overnight it stops at 79% and I have to unplug and plug back the charger for it to continue charging. It's taking me 4 to 5 hours to charge. Tried different chargers but nothing changed.
Anyone has any ideas?

Are you using an 18w quick charger? Mines charges really fast

Yes. I think I have a defective unit. Did a hard reset.
Still the same.

It could be battery or charger. Is there a way that you can try with another charger (18W) just to discard charger issue.

Step 1: blow really hard into your phone's USB-C port. Some lint could be trapped in there, preventing your phone to charge quickly.
Step 2: try a different cable
Step 3: try a different charging brick

Battery/Charging Problems

I just recently bought a wall charger since I lost the original one a while back. I've been charging via USB this whole time (maybe 6-8 months now). Anyway, when I charge with the wall charger, it'll say 100% and the green light would turn on (instead of the orange/amber for charging) so I assume that it's done. As soon as I unplug it, it drops maybe like 20-30%.
Is this a problem with the charger? Or the battery itself? I don't think it's battery since I've never had this problem when I would charge via USB. Could it be that my phone's just not used to being charged with a wall charger? Maybe because it's being charged faster with the wall charger that it's "used to" with USB? Any thoughts would be great.
No there's nothing wrong with your phone,if it gets charged via usb, then its fine.Fault is with your new wall charger,is it compatible with your phones specifications ? is it the original recommended or from other third party manufacturer ?. Wall charger must output a charge of 1.0 amp to fully get the pda battery, less then 1.0 amp will not charge the battery. Check this out,ok
Cheers!

Problem with wall charger

I plug the charger into the socket and the USB cable into the phone. Everything is stock. It will charge for 4-5 minutes, then it stops. If I unplug it and plug it back in - still nothing. The night before it did much of the same, but I let the charger cool (as it was getting warm to the touch) and tried again and it was at 100% the next morning.
Last night I used my Desire HD charger (5v - 1amp) and it worked great. Stock is 5v - 2amp. So it seems to be there is a problem with my charger. Anyone else have this problem?

My charger make a strange hissing noise when phone has completed it's full charge, sounds like a fan whirring away inside it. But it does charge the phone. Maybe we both have a faulter charger.

Charging problems

I just got my Note 3 working thanks to this group. When I first got it, it was without a battery and was locked by PIN. I was able to wipe it to factory conditions, but now it will not charge. It charged right away when I first got a replacement (OEM) battery, but then, I did the system factory reset, and now it will not charge. I am using a USB 3.0 cable and connecting this to my Apple charger I got with my iPhone 6 as I don't have a specific charger that might have come with the Note 3...just a generic USB 3.0 cable and the iPhone 6 charger that the USB cable plugs into. Any thoughts for me to try?
Try plugging the cable into a computer. It might not charge fast but it will let u know if it will charge or not. Iphone charger might not be compatible so battery will not charge.

I have tried using the computer and that is part of my confusion...the phone will indicate it is charging...but it doesn't. I get the same indication whether I am using the computer with USB 3.0 cable, or using various wall charger pods with the same cable. It will show the charging symbol (lightning bolt) or, if turned off, but plugged in, it will show the upflowing green drops rising toward the battery. So, it seems to indicate it is charging, but the charge percentage never increases...only drops.

It's not unheard of for a brand new battery to be defective. If you know someone else with a Note 3...try swapping batteries with then and see if the problem moves with the battery.
There is nothing in a factory refresh that would effect the charging circuit.

Phone charges only after reboot

It doesn't recognize the charger when plugged. Any charger.
When turning the phone off, it immediately recognize the charger by showing the white screen with the battery drawing, and the TurboPower %XXX below it. when then rebooting the phone, it charges with no problem till battery is full.
If I unplug the charger when the phone is on and charging, and then plug in the charger back again, the phone again doesn't recognize the charger and will not charge, and I again need to reboot.
I've calibrated the battery twice with an app from Google Play, but it didn't help.
Any ideas?
It's Moto X Pure 2015, stock.
Looks like the problem is with the 25W Motorola charger, the original one that came with the device. Seems like it messes things up. When I charge with tronsmart wall charger or tronsmart car charger, the phone chargers almost every time, even when unplugging it several times from the device.
But when I first charge with the Motorola charger, unplug it, and then connect the tronsmart - the tronsmart won't charge.
Eventually the charging port was replaced by the local service center.
No issues now.

Charging to 80% only (usb pd)

Hey!
So I get this funny little issue when charging with my usb pd charger.
The S10+ only charges to 80% then stops. I have to unplug then plug it back in again to get it to start charging to 100%.
Have no issues with the stock charger (will continue to use that for the time being).
I suspect it has something to do with the battery protection. But I've not got a clue. Any thoughts?
The usb pd wall charger I'm using is a ravpower 36w (max) unit.
