HI there,
After having installed the official LineageOS 16 (jfvelte) and performed an OTA upgrade with a successful device reboot, I ADB-sideloaded AddonSU (via TWRP recovery).
When I try to reboot, the devices goes into TWRP bootloop.
I haven't found any solutions specifically for i9515.
Can anyone kindly help?

For a few days now i have being trying to install a customer ROM on my Samsung J5, EVERY ROM i have downloaded has failed with errors stating that the ROM is for J5nlte NOT for j5nltexx even if the file name has been relating to j5nltexx.
I have tried to change/remove the assert line in the install package with no success.
has anybody got/or can recommend a ROM that WILL work with samsung J5 (j5nltexx) - I Currently have a phone that will not boot into a ROM, but will happily boot into TWRP 3.1.1-0
***Update***
The CM13 firmware installed and initially booted, but then went into a boot loop at "optimising apps", still unable to successfully install a custom ROM of any sort, tried Skies and ASUX both didn't boot, even with an Aroma aware TWRP install (confirmed by attempting to install CM13)
Since rebuilding with a "greek" factory ROM, my phone is now showing as sm-j5lte anymore advise will be well recieved
Thanks in Advance

I have managed to get a booting phone, using an old Samsung Factory ROM (5.1.1), re-rooted using CF-Auto-Root. Re-installed TWRP (this time with Aroma support) from @Zonic here To be able to install CyanogenMod 13.0 for Galaxy J5 Here do i need to Marshmallow (6.0.1) BEFORE i attempt a firmware upgrade?
Thanks
SOLVED: TWRP 3.0.3 uploaded by sub77 on androidfilehost doesn't properly recognize devices. I flashed the older 3.0.2-8 and it works fine and let me able to flash matisselte rom. Anyway, I flashed crdroid but It's stuck on boot animation.
Hello everybody,
I recently bought a secondhand Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T535. It has the android stock rom 5.2 and I wanted to flash a CM or any custom rom to speed it up a bit and remove all pre-installed apps. I did flash TWRP through Odin and it works fine, then I copied Gapps for 7.1 pico versiĆ³n and crDroid custom rom based on LineageOS 14.1 and nougat 7.1 for matisselte aka Tab 4 SM-T535. I followed instructions (that are pretty the same for every custom rom) so I wiped dalvik, cache, system and data, then I flashed (tried to) crDroid 14.1 zip and... TWRP says something like: unable to flash zip, it is for device matisselte but this is matissewifi. Wtf?! So, ok. I thought I'm blind and I got the wrong version, I downloaded the matissewifi version, tried to flash again and it did flash. Then I flashed Gapps and rebooted, now it goes directly in download mode and says Could not boot normally... What is happening? I also tried CM 14.1 for matissewifi, it flashes but can't boot and I'm unable to flash the matisselte version. Why?
it is for sure the LTE tablet, I read it in settings and info in the android stock rom and it has a sim slot, so it can't be the wifi one.
Thank you in advance for any reply. Let me know if you need more informations. Thanks.
P. S. I already searched in the forum and didn't find any similar case.
Hi,
has anybody found a solution...?
seen too late.....
"SOLVED: TWRP 3.0.3 uploaded by sub77 on androidfilehost doesn't properly recognize devices. I flashed the older 3.0.2-8 and it works fine and let me able to flash matisselte rom. Anyway, I flashed crdroid but It's stuck on boot animation. "
So glad you posted this because I had failed in all my attempts and had tried a few TWRP versions but not that one, which worked perfectly with Lineage 14.1.
Hi, I was trying to install TWRP on my J530F, but no matter what TWRP I install it keeps getting stuck on Samsung Galaxy J5 screen. Stock recovery works when I flash it. I'm using Oreo 8.1.0 (SMR Mar-2019 Rel.1)
EDIT: I followed this guide and it worked just fine.
I just upgraded to Pie on my SM-T380 and am now running into an issue after trying to re-root the tab.
I had previously rooted the tab using TWRP and Magisk and didn't have any problems except that I could not update Magisk since every time I went to TWRP I could not mount data, etc. I did an upgrade from Oreo to Pie today and it appeared to work without problems. I then tried re-rooting following the instructions here SM-T380 Rooting Guide but now only get an error screen when booting up (Security Error...) stating that "Only official released binaries are allowed." I can't boot into recovery and I've tried to reflash TWRP and get a FAIL in Odin every time.
I've tried to find the stock images to just reflash everything through Odin but am unsure which is the right image file (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-tab-a-2017/firmware/#SM-T380, I'm in the US). Can someone point me in the right direction?
Appreciate any help!
I found firmware for my T280 at this website https://samfrew.com/
Hi, pulling my hair out here, I have flash and reflashed with odin, magistik, just can't seem to get a custom recovery installed for my Galaxy Tab S6 Lite wifi sm-p610 with android 13. (using stock android 13 firmware)
I tried Twrp, lineage. recoverys, both result in boot loop. Do I need to flash a android 10 to accomplish a recovery install, can someone help?
Hi, had the same problem. I followed this guide: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/gta4xlwifi/
But as you i got in a boot loop and the fix is to install first the correct firmware (LINEAGE 19 -> ANDROID 12), you can use odin to do that. After this you can flash the lineage 19 recovery and then install the ROM. Be sure to enter in recovery mod immediately after flashed the recovery.
