Speakers not working properly after latest sprint software update - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

2 days ago sprint pushed an update for the note 10+ and for some reason it messed up my speaker when playing apps (games, music, etc...). The sound comes out of the top of the phone for some reason and it's VERY soft. You almost can't hear it unless you put your ear up to the phone. While on a phone call, the speaker seems to work just fine, it's just when playing media that the speaker doesn't work. The headphones seem to work just fine but the speaker does not. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Well, Nevermind, lol. All of a sudden my phone just restarted by itself and the sound works perfectly now. Very odd because for the last 2 days it hasn't worked properly.

It's weird. I had an issue with my daughter's S9+ after an update, speakers were being intermittent and crackling. Eventually did a full reset but the issues remained.
After a great deal of research and messing around, a Spotify playlist on the SD card was to blame. Took out SD card everything worked fine.

Turns out the problem is an app called BIGO. When I use it, it plays the sound out of the top speaker as though I'm on a phone call. I have to force stop the app to get things back to normal. I have let the developers know but haven't heard anything back from them.l

no sound

the only time sound comes from my g1 is during a call besides that no ring tones notifications music apps with sound or any thing will work i uninstalled every app wiped repaired ext file systems all kinds of stuff nothing has worked so far... help ?
Calls come through the earpiece, everything else comes through the speaker.
Since you're rooted and have tried "all kinds of stuff" (including reflash?) it may be hardware, does it work with headphones?
probably right about it being hardware, i don't know if it works with headphones my dog chewed the adapter. Once before all the sound for music and apps was coming out of the spot where you put your ear when talking instead of out of the back and it randomly started working again i'm hopping thats what will happen even though i'm getting no sound at all for it

No Speaker

after flashing CM6 i had sound for the first few days. now i have nothing. i have done all kinds of wipes and even have installed other roms. still nothing. even when using the speaker phone, i get no sound from the external speaker.
headset speaker works fine, i can hear the other party when making phone calls. i just cannot hear my phone ring.
help please!
i dont know if this is coincidence or not, but i just blew out the speaker and now it seems to be working again. dunno if maybe some small dust got in there or something. any who, it seems to be working ok now.
I know this is an old thread but I am glad I searched. My speaker just stopped working and I tried everything. After reading this thread, I took my case off and the battery cover off and just blew into the speaker hole. It started working again...WTF??? If you speaker isn't working, try giving it a blow...seemed to work for two of us.

Earpiece stops working?!?

Anyone had the earpiece just stop working? This is my 2nd day of owning the G2 and so far it has performed awesomely. I did use audio a lot today. I drove my usual route to work with Waze in the background and I listed to an hour long Podcast. Got to work and didn't use my phone at all until lunch. Went to the gym and streamed music from DI.FM for about an hour and a half. Went back to work. Then I tried to make some phone calls and the earpiece didn't work, I couldn't get any sound out of it. I made sure bluetooth was off in case it was still connected to something, and even hitting the speaker in call I still had no sound, although I could get sounds in other apps.
Finally I just did a full reboot and sound came back to the earpiece with no problems till then. It seems like a software issue, not hardware issue. Anyone else have this?
If you haven't gotten the ota it should fix this...if you have maybe worry maybe a fluke

No Media Sound after water damage

So sadly, I dropped my phone in the toilet a few days ago. After keeping it in rice for a day, it seems everything is working great except for sound.
Notification, alarm, and ringer sounds all work, but if I play music or any media sounds, none of them works unless I have headphones in. Even phone calls don't work unless I'm using speaker mode. Is this solely a hardware issue? It seems weird that notifications work but media doesn't.
Thanks
I'm currently having the same problem, seems weird as like you said, alarms work fine just not media. Ever find a solution?
Same issue here..did it get solved after few days?
Well it solved itself after drying.

My Nexus 6p accidently fell into the tub speakers not working.

Unfortunately, my nexus fell into my tub, I quickly took it out in just about a second or less. I kept it face down for 5 mins before I did anything else. I tried playing music and all the apps including my music player of choice (phonograph) and youtube. I restarted my phone and tried again, this time everything "played" but I couldn't hear anything at all. I tried charging my phone and it didn't work as well. My cameras are also filled with the water droplets and my microphone, what should I do please help! PIC 1- Attempt to take a picture
Update: I dried up the port and not it charges.
Update 2: I was texting my friend and the notification sound worked for once! But soon after it stopped and I tried playing songs and as usual I couldn't hear anything.
Update 3: My back camera is starting to dry out, my alarm worked and so does all my notifications. I tried playing music and no luck. Microphone seems to be working. --P.S Do the notification sounds use a different speaker than the normal speakers? If so is there a way of re-routing this to the working notification speaker?
I remember reading someone else dropping there phone in water and the same issue for them loud speakers not working. Notifications probably coming from ear speaker. How's the battery ever thought of replacing because could also replace the damaged speaker.
