[SOLVED] - Android Q DP3 dump needed - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hello! I want to experiment with Q DP3 on my T-Mobile device but cannot because its blocked from the beta. After you flash it you get a boot loader error saying mismatched firmware / hardware or something to that affect. To clarify all T-Mobile devices are blocked.
I would love to get my hands on a complete device dump, all partitions. I want to see if it is at all possible to get DP3 to boot by fastbooting non critical partions.
If you have the time could you please dump the phone and upload it to a fast file host and leave a link in the thread or send me a message with a link?
Much appreciated!

You're better off converting it to international version by following the guide on the development forum on this phone, and you will of course want to unlock the bootloader (if you don't want to painfully wait for a week to get the bootloader unlock key AFTER paying it all off upfront).
T-Mobile OnePlus 6T will not be getting the beta version because of the bootloader lock checks. So, the conversion from T-Mobile model to international version is a must for this beta update, not to mention it's easy to unlock the bootloader afterwards.

Im pretty familiar with bootloader lock / unlock... See my guide.
Even if you flash the int software on the T-Mo version before DP3 it still locks the device out. Ever since DP2 its been blocked.

Pixel/Pixel XL (VZW User) Newb Support (You can Upgrade and flash with everyone else)

VERIZON UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER ONLY.
Yes you can unlock these things as long as they have never hit the network on Verizon )... EVER... (with a different CARRIER sim) I watched guy at Best Buy do it with a PIXEL and Pixel I guess the true issue is, you never know how or when they would be started especially on a refurb --- etc... Good Luck on that one...
First thread ever but the support scarce for VZW users (Specifically)and ROMs are scarce in generally. WE ARE SCARED TO DEATH to get the bootloader relocked... I've been flashing since the originally G1 and usually just keep my mouth shut stay humble and learn from every thread. I can't really find a lot of info on the VZW version and really the fear of locking the bootloader after trying so hard to get an nde64x ver on 7.1.0 to unlock was quite the endeavor in itself. I just wanted to pass along some info. Ask questions. If your an expert I'm sure this is pointless, but I just answered all of this for a friend that just switched to the Evil Red.
1. YOU CAN Flash the google updates (Not the ota but full system img using the flash all.bat)
DOWNLOAD THE FACTORY IMAGE NOT THE OTA (Google --- Factory IMG, Marlin)
- Download which ever from 7.1.0 to 8.1.0 unzip (I use 7zip but your windows programs can do the same
- Install your Fastboot/Adb and drop the EXTRACTED in your platform tools folder ... NOT the whole folder... but the items within the folder, into Platform tools (Should be 6 items including the flash all.bat) IT WILL NOT RELOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER BUT WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE UNLESS YOU GO IN TO MOVE THE -W SCRIPT
2. 7.1.2 roms aren't working well with the A B Slot issues recovery... I was losing my mind trying to get things to flash and finally come to the conclusion... TWRP-3.1.1-0-fastboot-marling.img and .zip are the only recovery I can install to get roms to flash... If I Fastboot or flash the -1 img (twrp 3.1.1-1) or the 3.2.1-0-marlin.img I have to flash back to stock to get roms flasheable again.
- Working TWRP Nougat twrp-3.1.1-0
Flash Away At that point... If you get stuck like me and install 3.1.1-1 or the Other 3.2.1-0 I had to return to stock because of the A-B partition issues and get back to 3.1.1.0 to flash roms and Kernels.
3. Oreo 8.1.0 works with the flash-all bat (Google FACTORY image). The Oreo version will NOT relock your bootloader!!!
- TWRP works on 3.2.1-0.
- Magisk 14.5 and 14.6 work on Oreo...
- Super Su SR5 works with SU Hide 1.09
- Sound mods are eluding me on Oreo but Weta 9 Pixel is working with MANUAL MOVES--- Use at your own risk...
Right now I am on a VZW device running Carbon (LOS Based) with a Modded Google Cam (GCMOD cam )Viper4Andriod working, Franco Kernel --- ((A Lot harder than I thought on LOS to get some of the normal things working))
Ask questions if you want I'll answer what I can. Or I'll ask question of someone else to try to get an answer... Happy flashing...
So if I have a VZW pixl XL on 8.0.0 that HAS been used on vzw then Im out of luck is what Im gathering?

Most likely, if you didn't unlock the bootloader with depixel8, back on 7.1
Sunshine team has no plans to work on unlocking newer versions, although, jcase said if someone could get temp root, he would provide an unlock...
So we're screwed. ?

No you can't, because you can't flash until after you are unlocked.
I returned mine to Google and sweet talked my way into the one I have now. Still Verizon, but it was rolled back to 7.1.0.... Well and blue (my original was black). I'm not sure I could've kept the phone without actually being able to flash roms/kernels/themes. No matter who you are or what you do, the developers around android building are just remarkable at finding and fixing those little stutters and issues that drive us all nuts as well as adding those little goodies that make them fun and unique.
This was actually an argument I was having with the gentleman at Best Buy telling me the phones are all the same with the Pixel 2 a month or so ago. After a bit of discussion he also said I could immediately unlock these devices even on Verizon. I called him out and he proved it, but HAD to use an AT&T sim as the start up. Once VZW is booted past the 7.1.0 version, that it is unlockable... its over... unless someone else can find another unlocking method to downgrade without OEM unlock or a bootloader unlock method I don't know what to say. Personally I would've rolled back to the 6p or gone to the 2 and had the guy at Best Buy help me out with a sim.

Come on man... Gotta help the cause... Everyone wants options and themes... Thats why we dont have IPhones.
Verizon users dont stand a chance at catching up or learning assuming they ever had a Pixel xl on NDE63P If they want to unlock, they need to start backing up to the 6P.... which is actually still a comparable device to newer phones at a couple years old.... and then they cant even go to the store to set it up... LOL. Sooooooo many posts from Verizon Users asking about whether they can update stock or via Google images and noone answers, well, mostly because their in the wrong thread.
And yes I realize I answered the last question asked, in the original post. I still have a little patience in my old age...
NO you can not flash down to 7.1.0 because you cant run the Google img through Fastboot, without being unlocked and there is NOWAY currently to unlock, past the original build version... I believe the last unlockable was NDE63X (dont quote me on that) Sorry guys. You CAN HOWEVER flashall.bat if you are ALREADY unlocked and you will stay bootloader unlocked.

Google Pixel Android P DP2 to 8.1 [Verizon Pixel]

Hi everyone
I recently got a Verizon Pixel and i want to roll back to Android 8.1 Oreo, i am currently on Android P DP2 with a locked bootloader, i've enabled OEM Unlocking (done under Android P DP2) but didn't want to unlock the bootloader! how can i roll back safely! do i need to unlock the bootloader! if my bootloader is unlocked can i lock it back! what are the possible issues/benefits if a bootloader kept unlocked!
Thank you.
Just unenroll from android beta program by visiting android beta website and you will get an ota which will revert you back to android 8.1.0
I've heard that some people who did, got a softbrick after the OTA update! I want to roll back manually.

You have two options then first One sideload the latest ota file of 8.1.0 which is of june. And then wipe your internal storage . For doing this you won't have to unlock your bootloader . And the second One is unlock your bootloader and flash the latest factory image of android 8.1.0.. Backup your data because both will cause you to lose your data.

Pixel's are finicky as far as relocking the bootloader due to AVB and dm-verity. I highly recommend against relocking these phones unless they are COMPLETELY STOCK. Also if it is a Verizon device you will not be able to unlock it again without using an exploit which is a bit hard to find and a bit scammy

Chinese H2OS to Global OOS error - "Version of upgrade lower than the current system"
I have the Chinese Oneplus 6T running H2OS v9.0.6. When I try to flash Oxygen OS v9.0.7 using the local upgrade method as described in one of the guide forums here, I am told that the version of the upgrade is lower than the current system.
Anyone know why this the case and the simplest way around it?
Would a factory reset return the phone to a version of H2OS that might allow the flash to proceed?
i have the same problem. Could you post here the solution if you find it? Some guys adviced me to try msm download tool to flash oxygenos but you need an unlocked bootloader. If you success post here the solution. Now i'm not at home and i can't try that method. i will post here too.

I guess so. Reluctant to try this for the first time on a new phone though.
Any idea how long we'll be waiting for the next update from oneplus, as I would think as soon as that is released it should allow me to proceed with the local update?
I could wait if it was next week, but I would find it difficult to wait for much longer than that.

Nokia 6.1 plus - downgrade from android Pie to Oreo? / Flashing stock firmware?

I updated to android Pie on my Nokia 6.1 plus TA-1103. It's too buggy and I don't like it a bit! Downgrading to Oreo "over the air" method via Nokia beta labs doesn't work for my carrier.
I see that official Oreo firmware is available for download. Is there any way to flash it back now when I am currently on Android 9.0 ?

These are definitely the zips of stock ROM. But these are designed to take you forward and not backward (unless a specially designed package is pushed by the company). So, your only means to downgrade is via Nokia Care channels or paid downgrade services available online.

It is the same for all WW variants of the device. So, you can flash any WW firmware if your bootloader is unlocked. Otherwise it is not possible to flash on your own.

Hi mate, PM me if your bootloader is unlocked and I can go though the steps to downgrade to 8.1
I've been shown how to do it and its tried and tested & working well.
If your bootloader is locked, then search for the paid service to unlock it. He will also downgrade it at the same time.
Nokia X6 with Custom Oreo ROM - How to load stock Android Pie 6.1 plus image
Hi,
I bought a Nokia X6 in September 2018 (6GB/64GB) and would like to install the Stock Nokia 6.1 Plus Android 9 image.
I see my phone is rooted and it shows the message "Your device has loaded a different operating system." everytime I start it and I have to use Magisk to hide several banking applications.
The phone works great and I knew it was going to be relased in Europe eventually, but I am scared to brick it by loading the Android 9 Image.
I already tried attempting the update through OTA but the zip file is ignored. Nothing happens.
I am new to this forum so I don't know if my question has been asked by someone else.
Can you please help me?
Thank you!
- - - Since I am reading that Pie is not that good, I would be happy to stay with Oreo as long as I can use stock and unroot. Have you got any tips for it? ---

It won't need root to install a different official ROM. The flash tools for internal usage don't need root.
You can check the device's bootloader status using Fastboot commands. Make sure fastboot drivers are installed. Then put your Nokia in Download mode. After that use the following command:
fastboot oem device-info

I downloaded ADB and fastboot, along with the latest Nokia X6 USB Drivers.
I am following the guide here : https://www.getdroidtips.com/nokia-6-1-plus-stock-firmware/#The_Advantage_ofStock_Firmware and I would like to avoid having the original X6 firmware (chinese) and use the 6.1 plus instead, but not sure which one.
Also, what is in your opinion the best XDA post I can follow for the upgrade? Is the one above ok? I just need to unroot my device and install the stock 6.1 Plus Oreo (or Pie if is getting better) making sure it will work with my Vodafone and Three UK Sim Card (which are working fine for now).

Actually, it depends on what condition your device is in right now. If the bootloader is unlocked (fastboot oem device-info), then you will be able to install the global firmware.
On the other hand if the device has a locked bootloader, then a tutorial alone won't help. You'll need to buy a remote flashing service to flash the global ROM onto the device. The flash tool needs to gain the flash permission from FIH servers to gain a temporary elevation to flash files to a locked bootloader.

Hi,
I followed this guide to go into fastboot mode: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/nokia/nokia-x6-2018/fastboot-mode/
When I do, I can only see "Download mode" on the top left and the big logo "powered by Android", that's it.
Is that correct or?
I allowed my bootloader to be unlocked, for the developer options, but I don't seem to find a way to boot in fastboot mode. I will try volume up + powerbutton shortly.

The download mode = fastboot mode. So, you reached the right place.
The developer option setting has no use on a Nokia phone. It just does nothing. But since you're seeing that option, your bootloader is most likely still locked. If you are on July or an older Android Security patch, then you can unlock the bootloader by buyng an unlock key. After that you can unlock it and then flash the global firmware.

Hi, yes I think so at this point. I am on May security patch and it does not show any new updates when I check. I am thinking to unroot it at this point and keep it with Android 8.1 unrooted, but I am not sure I will get the updates from Nokia.
What do you think?
Thanks for your reply and I hope all this information is useful to the other members of the forum.

Downgrade from Android 9 to Android 8
Hello!
I downloaded this file: https :// drive.google.com/uc?id=1BUR6xrbgbVlMQDyHz6oXZpmPrlRuFYgY&export=download
from this forum: http: // forum.gsmdevelopers.com/nokia-android-phones/72857-nokia-6-1-plus-ta-1083-exclusive-tasted-firmware-ch_sameer.html
and apparently it's possible to downgrade from Android 9 to Android 8. The file contains the OST LA program and the stock ROM for TA-1083 (DRG-237B-0-00WW-B05) in .nb0 format. The program asks for user and password, but I read somewhere that it's possible to patch it or edit it with Notepad++. I'm new to this and I don't know how to use the program.
Can someone more experienced test this method and report back, please?

You cannot crack/patch OST LA. The patched version will work on bootloader unlocked devices only. For the others, there's no way to flash without having the login to server with account.

I have a OP6T McLaren from China and I'd like to upgrade from HydrogenOS to OxygenOS.
By the way seems like that some people are having problem with bricked phones (also just upgrading OxygenOS to the latest version):

Look for the fastboot room on here
I am so perplexed at why no one can find my rom. Its right there, under roms. U cant miss it guys.
It's clearly a fascinating cognitive process to be able to land on Q&A section and not having the curiosity to explore the near vicinity and search what's around

My apologies on your failure to understand my statement, let me rephrase clearly -
I'm not looking for a ported ROM, I need the actual stock ROM as I have a McLaren device which is not not booting due to some mess up - which I assume, can be solved by a stock ROM flash.
Jack, I've read your thread and it seems that there's another user who's having the same issue. The international ROM is not compatible on the McLaren device and it will cause it to bootloop. Mine doesn't bootloop, just stops loading after the splash screen.
Would you by any chance happen to have the initial stock ROM with you which you used to create the port ? Or have you posted it somewhere already which I'm unable ton search and find it? It sucks to be in a country where there is no official OnePlus support available. Any help is much appreciated mate.
Cheers!
P.S. And for the cognitive gentleman, It's far more fascinating I suppose - when you only use your thoughts and experiences to confirm your assumption of me looking for a ported rom whereby the actual cognitive process involves processing the senses (which if you used you'd know that I have a McLaren device and I need the McLaren untouched ROM) as well - so that your strong perception of the kind of people you associate with may not cloud your judgement about truly helpless kind like us in the distant future. Have a great day ahead mate.

Another user who has the mclaren device has used my rom. It is the untouched McLaren rom. Exactly. Not a substituted file or anything. It is the 100% mclaren firmware in a flashable format. If u can boot to fastboot, follow my install instructions and u will restore fine. Wipe both slots, then flash rom. And the user u are speaking of has the non McLaren version and ran the msm tool incorrectly. Trust us, flash the rom, u will thank all of us later. My rom is what you are looking for. Mclaren varient cannot flash the intl rom, but it can flash the McLaren rom. Its only a port to the non McLaren users. For all intents and purposes its not a port whatsoever. Its a flashable dump of stock McLaren which is oos 9.0.9. so, to solve your issues, use the rom. I promise man its the stock rom u need.

So you confirm that I can flash your ROM/port in my OP6T McLaren with HydrogenOS?
Do I need to unlock the bootloader? Will I get future OTA updates?
Thank you

I cannot confirm anything. This all hypothesis. I would bet u can flash it. Yes u must unlock bootloader.i think this will work bc i flash hydrogen on my tmobile variant. No guarantee on ota updates, but u can download yourself and flash with local upgrade. Make sure u backup your sh*t and have a msm tool for your device handy just in case.

Thank you. As far as I know, there's no msm tool for op6t mclaren. Do you have different information about it?

I mean the msm for the chinese variant of your OnePlus 6t. Have that on hand, just in case. U can only use msm to restore the phone how it comes from, not a firmware u are currently running

As far as i know the msm for OP6T doesn't work for OP6T McLaren.
By the way your firmware worked fine! Now my McLaren has OxygenOS. Thank you very much.
For future purpose I'll leave the link to your ROM here:

Can I relock bootloader now?

Have you managed to lock it and boot it?
I'm worried about OTA as this device doesn't get the OTA Zip files.

your mclaren flash sucessful fastboot rom V3 in this link ?
do you need unlock bootloader mclaren before ?
then flash it , can you ota update ?
thank you
Yes, everything was fine with that fastboot rom. You need to unlock the bootloader before, but you can relock it after the installation (I did it). The first incremental OTA failed, but the software managed to download the whole firmware (about 1.7GB) and flash it automaticaly, so I'm happy
