Hi,
My Moto G5 plus keeps in a bootloop.
I even can't access the recovery mode to do a factory data reset, because he keeps restarting, also in the bootloader (after 6 seconds).
What can I do?
It's no problem if my data is deleted, I have a back-up.
Thanks in advance,
Lander

Stock or TWRP recovery?
Access recovery by holding power key with volume+ simultaneously.
If that doesn't work connect to your pc (with ADB and Fastboot) and type
Code:
adb reboot recovery
If you're already on TWRP restore your backup.
If not go to fastboot mode and type
Code:
fastboot boot "name of your recovery.img"

I tried today but when I charged the phone, he starts up without a problem. The day before he was in a bootloop and now he started up? I don't know how but thanks for answering!

Hello all,
Just a heads up that I have little to no knowledge of modding/rooting phones whatsoever.
My phone decided to reboot by itself earlier today and was stuck in a boot loop for around 30 minutes before I managed to get into recovery mode. At this point it is still boot looping. Afterwards it just stop the boot loop and now stuck on recovery mode. Powering it off from recovery mode or by holding power button for 10s will only results in the phone rebooting itself into recovery mode again. I can get into Fastboot mode, however. Wiping cache and rebooting does not seem to do the trick as it would only go back to recovery screen after the OnePlus logo again.
Please advise on this matter
install drivers. connect to fastboot. Type "fastboot continue", this should turn on your phone but it's a temporary fix. Once it's on copy your data & perform a factory reset. - found it on oneplus forums (haven't tested by me)

Thanks for your reply, where exactly do i type "fastboot continue" ?
> First you need to install ADB & Fastboot to your Computer (Use This guide)
> Then Install Oneplus 2 Drivers (Use This Guide)
> Connect phone via Fastboot mode (Turn off the phone. Hold Volume Up + Power to enter fastboot mode. Connect phone to pc)
On the first guide (ADB & Fastboot) you'll find how to open a Command Window to issue fastboot commands. That's where you need to type "fastboot continue"
Hello everyone,
My new LEX727 (US version) was on 5.8.020s ROM and tried everything mentioned in the thread but cannot unlock the bootloader to install TWRP. Therefore I flashed it to CN version 5.8.018s ROM with no problem. After reboot, the phone prompts "To start Android, enter your password". Of course I have no idea about the password as I have never setup one.
I tried fastboot but the phone is not recognized by my PC (adb devices doesn't show connection). I can still enter Recovery Mode (Vol up + PWR) and fastboot (Vol down + PWR) mode.
Please help!! ...>_<...
I think it has something to do with device encryption. I suggest you search OnePlus forums, as users there had same problems after re-locking bootloader. Good luck!

Sorry for replying late. I boot into stock recovery mode, wide the data and reboot. The password prompt is gone and boot successfully.
Thank you very very much for your help!!!
I seem to be having a similar problem
I got the bootloader unlocked no problem, twrp and lineage rom installed no problem
But I'm trying to change to a different rom and upon booting it asks for a password... I've tried Omni rom and paranoid android, I tried a couple default passwords with no luck, and wiping data didn't work either
I'm not sure what else to try, any help? Much appreciated

Look like you have installed last version of TWRP 3.2.1-1. if that it's correct you Can Not to flash any EUI/Nougat Rom, just Oreos Rom or you gonna get Encrypted Data. If you want/need going down to EUI or Nougat Rom, you must to flash TWRP 3.2.1-0.
No, my twrp says it's 3.2.1-0... if it's encrypted then formatting data should work hopefully, I'll try that when I get access to my computer again for a backup
Can you please share the commands ?
I followed a youtube video:
(1) Boot phone to fastboot mode(hold Power+Volume Down button), connect to PC
(2) C:\adb>fastboot oem unlock-go (success)
(3) C:\adb>fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-1-zl1.img
It enter twrp and ask for password (Mount, Decrypt Data), I believe same as what you saw.
Can you list the command you ran (to wipe data and reboot)? I guess like these:
fastboot oem unlock-go
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-1-zl1.img
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot
Any special thing to do when you issue "fastboot reboot" command? Like hold the Power+Volume Up button?
Thanks!

I have a Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime/Pro and my problem is that I cannot boot into recovery using the Power+Volume Up method. When I do so, my phone gets stuck at the Mi boot logo. However, I can boot into recovery when I hold Power+Volume Down (I enter fastboot mode), then I connect my phone to my PC and I use the commands:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot boot twrp.img
I don't know if it's normal that my phone restarts automatically and boots into recovery when I hit enter with the last command.
I want to be able to get into recovery using the Power+Volume Up technique. Also, I heard that if I hold the Volume Up key when I reboot from fastboot will open a window with an option to disable stock recovery replacement. This also doesn't work and gets me to the stuck screen with the Mi boot logo.
Is there anything I can do to open TWRP using the Power+Volume Up method?

Switch off the phone and wait for 10sec. After that hold together Volume Up + Volume Down + Power and wait (i guess 5-15sec) until you see recovery.

Hello,
thanks for your response. I don't know if you actually read my post, but my phone reboots after the command
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
and then it directly boots into TWRP. So getting into TWRP isn't that much of a problem here. I wanted to get into recovery without a PC and without using any of these commands.
Also, please try to describe the procedure more precisely next time because typing out just one command that isn't even surrounded in
Code:
quotes...
Thank you.

Hello,
thank you for your answer. One thing I forgot to mention is that I use a custom OS too (MoKee ROM) with Android 6.0.1. Although this has an option for 'Advanced reboot' where you can reboot to recovery, this option always got me to the Mi boot logo and stays stuck there.
Also, I already fixed this problem by holding Power+Volume Up+Volume Down at the same time.
Best regards,
DJsushi

Hello,
Can anyone assist me in fixing my issue? My phone couldn't boot to recovery mode, i see the TWRP bluescreen and it immediately enters the boot loop. I can boot to fastboot&rescue mode but adb is not detecting my devices. I tried reinstalling the driver and also restart the adb server, but no luck. Tried different USB ports \cable\laptop, but no luck.
Need some assistance or direction to address this issue.

adb does not work in the bootloader (Fastboot mode)
in bootloader use
fastboot boot twrp.img
just be sure twrp has the correct name and is in the same folder as adb / fastboot
@sri1225,
Adding to clsA post:
If the phone is in fastboot mode, "fastboot devices" should work to confirm PC connection is good and produces a similar response as "adb devices" does when in adb mode.
What led up to the phone getting broken? You said it's bricked - so it won't boot up to normal operating mode?

I tried to flash with the B180+Stock+Rom, after that I cannot go back to TWRP or in recovery mode.
When I do the "fastboot boot twrp.img", in the fastboot&rescue mode, the phone reboots to twrp screen and goes back to the boot loop again. I have tried both the twrp images available in the forum for this device.

The B180 stock rom replaces TWRP with stock recovery
If you want TWRP again flash it from the bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
when you enter TWRP
goto Wipe/Format Data/ and type yes
now you can root the phone or leave it as is
Fwiw, the 'boot' command only boots twrp, it doesn't flash it. Thats useful for testing that twrp works. The proper command to flash is immediately above this post. Take it from me - always test first. If it boots, it works.

Try the command 'fastboot devices', what does it output..? Are you sure you are in fastboot mode, with the screen and the Android with its chest popped open..?
I messed up and accidentally flashed the old oreo B32-based bootstack to use Candy ROM using NFound's TWRP 3.2.1-8 which was specifically made for the newer b12-based bootstack. Now I can't boot into TWRP at all but the phone still works just fine for day-to-day use. I tried to flash NFound's TWRP 3.2.1-7 via fastboot but after entering "adb reboot bootloader" command, I got stuck on the ZTE logo screen and was unable to proceed into the bootloader menu to continue with the TWRP reflashing process. I am able to reboot back into the ROM by holding down the power button for 10 seconds but I would really like to be able to get my TWRP working again.
I love NFound's work and I brought this problem onto myself by accident but any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated!
Use EDL to go back to stock and flash it again......
you're fine because you can boot into your ROM. Reboot to EDL and use EDL Tool to flash recovery of choice.
Sorry guys, but I couldn't boot into EDL mode either. I tried different button combinations (power + vol down, power + vol up + vol down), the EDL tool, command lines, etc but none of them could get the phone to boot into fastboot nor EDL. It always just reboots back into the ROM.

Do you have root?? If you do, I recommend actually just using flashify app to flash the correct 3.2.1-7 TWRP to recovery. No need to mess with EDL
from computer adb
adb reboot edl
or
su

Yea I tried that as well but the phone just reboots back into the ROM instead of going into edl. Tried using a terminal app on the phone to run "reboot edl" as well but got the same result.

Sorry mate still no luck haha and I just got a new phone as well. But my ZTE still works perfectly fine, just no way to boot into recovery, bootloader, or edl mode. The only thing I haven't tried is using an edl cable but I don't have access to those at the moment. If you have the same problem as me, you might wanna give the edl cable a try if all else fails.
i flashed Oreo Rom and then flash Twrp 3.2.1.8. after restart i select that phone should boot into recovery. but phone led blinks and then phone goes off. I want to boot into recovery?
