I know this might be a little too early to ask. I also admit I am not up-to-date with all the news. But if there's anyone that can answer this, I would appreciate it.
Can anybody say if the ROM development for the normal S10 plus will also cover and work with the S10 5g model.
I'd like to get the 5g model. But if there's no development for it, it would be worthless.
That being said the question is valid if there would be a 5g model with Exynos chip.
But if the 5g model would also be available with Exynos chip and the ROMs for the S10 plus would work on it and thus the development for it would be the same, I would wait for the S10 plus 5g variant.
Could anybody share what're the news saying, please.
No one knows...

Hard to say at this point in time... I do hope they get some good development.
Does Europe have 5g? That would answer your question if they don't. If they don't it'll probably only be released in markets with 5G
Thank you very much
Can anyone personally confirm that this model phone works on T-mobile in the US? I'm looking for an S10 with an Exynos so I can root.
I did some reading before asking, but things were a bit iffy either way as to yes or no.
Here are two threads about it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/help/worth-buying-international-version-s10-t3921516
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/help/exynos-att-t-mobile-t3920491
But the straight answer is yes, I get LTE, WIFI calling, VoLTE, just no Carrier aggregation and Band 71.
how bad?

How bad?
I haven't seen any difference between a CA OnePlus 6t and the S10+ in bandwidth. This is tested in multiple locations in SoCal specifically.
In Long Beach, & USC area of LA, I've seen no difference in connectivity between the Exynos & Snapdragon versions of the S10e on T-Mobile. And very little difference between the S10e & Exynos S7, actually.
Please search before creating new threads, there is at least 2 already with this question.

How many people are having the LTE issues?
Samsung had me reset my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings to try and fix the issue. Of course that didn't help. What does my Bluetooth and WiFi settings have to do with Cellular service? I think they are grasping because there is an actual defect in the phone. I purchased it directly from Samsung but I'm on Sprint. Sprint has acknowledged an issue but I didn't get it through them so I'm out of luck. When you spend over a thousand dollars on a phone, you expect it to work. I had two dropped calls this morning while driving in an area that has service. The phone is basically unusable unless you are on Wi-Fi. (at least with mine) I have a Galaxy s10 +

Same here with my Sprint Galaxy S10 Plus I'm Roaming 95% of the time and when LTE does kick in nothing loads. So I have to use Wi-Fi.
Exynos S10+ on T-mobile, no LTE issues on my model.
I mean, there is 3 totally different modems (exynos, qualcomm lte and qualcomm 5g), putting the title as all versions is novice at best, and click bait at worst.
Also something to keep in note, Sprint acknowledging a fault doesnt necessarily mean there is a fault or that it is a known issue, its just "good" customer service, they simply cant troubleshoot with the level 1 support, so its easier just to replace your device.
Anyway no issues with my Exynos (G975F) in Brazil with dual sim

No, there is an issue with the Sprint version of the phone
No LTE issues with the unlocked on T-Mobile...
I've been having issues with my Unlocked S10+ on ATT. About every other day I lose my data but it still shows LTE, and this notification pops up. I don't get my data back until I restart my phone 1 or 2 times..
Side note: I've been getting this notification since I got my phone at the beginning of march. ATT can't seem to help me or even give me an answer to what's going on

Sorry about that, I just assumed since it's Sprint they were all Qualcomm LTE (which of course I am on) Wish I could edit the title to give a more detailed so it's not misleading.
It's funny though, if I run a speed test, speeds are great on LTE. It's just connecting takes forever, then the connection doesn't stay.
Don't get me wrong, I love everything else about the phone.

Are you on a prepaid plan by chance? Been an issue for AT&T for years now.

Others have posted online with the same issue since 2015. Do a quick Google search and you'll see. Some switch to a "postpaid" plan and the issue goes away. And some didn't have any issues until getting a new phone.

You know anyone on a postpaid plan with AT&T you could possibly swap SIM's with temporarily to see if the issue persists? Not sure how often it happens, if it's only once a day it may not be a feasible option.
May be able to be resolved with AT&T's firmware?
Did your Note 9 have AT&T's firmware or was it Samsung's unlocked firmware?

Then maybe that would be your best bet, using their firmware
I received this. So... There may be hope. Lol

I'm getting very slow lte speeds on my s10plus Snapdragon with Verizon in my house which usually has a strong connection. 6mbps is terribly slow
ADS3 update with fingerprint patch and fresh factory reset. I did not use any restore methods. Just setup from scratch

Same location just restarted my phone and downloads instantly shot up to 50mbps. Better but still not right. I shouldn't have to restart my phone every few hours to be able download at a decent speed on lte

What carrier are you on? Factory unlocked?
So, I switched from Sprint to T-Mobile and the issue followed. I figured out that when I connected to LTE it would connect to band 2 or 4. If it does, my data stops working completely. I went in and disabled bands 2 and 4 and it works now.
I think there is an actual issue with the phone on bands 2 and 4. Just my opinion....
I'm completely up to date on the software as well.

Lol. Well, yeah...you get 5G on it when TMobile turns on their 5G. Unless you are already in a test area.
So is there a thread for this already? Anyone one else excited to see what 5g gonna be like?

I think this topic is a first. If my S10+ can handle 5G then I will be excited.

Yeah I'm super happy I'm in miami and damn near every where i travel is covered so truly happy about that. I'm guess well get a surprise update to active the 5g in our phones first?
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I don't know if 5G is software or hardware related. If it's software yeah there will probably be some kind of update. If it's hardware then a new phone is required.

Naw the new s10 models gonna require a update. Unless you bought the 5g model already than don't need it.

From what I was told is that the S10 is capable of 5G and has 5G capability but doesn't have the 5G modem in the phone itself so therefore we cannot get 5G unless we purchase the 5G model.
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Modems used to be interchangeable and updateable back in the Galaxy S4 days. I guess that's changed with the newer phones.
Think about it. Why would S10 5G exist if the current models were 5G capable? And I don't mean what AT&T does in the US by replacing the 4G LTE icon with 5GE, I mean actual 5G
lol eh?
What's this?
Sorry, the S10/S10+ cannot and will not be 5G capable. It doesn't have the required hardware. Which is a 5G modem and associated components.
That's why there's an S10 5G: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10-5g
I'm not sure where you read this, but it's very much false.

By the time 5G is available on a wide scale all premium devices will have 5G capability since realistically that's at least a year out. This is why I passed on the S10 5G model. There is no possibility a software update will enable a "5G Capable" S10 as it requires a modem. The S11 will have a Qualcomm 865 SoC (7nm) separate from it's modem which is fine however word has it Qualcomm's 875 Chipset (5nm) will have the modem integrated into the SoC.
